The Battle Mage
Noelle sat with Hadrian asleep in her lap to the immediate right of Lord Arcturus Black, who looked the part with his shoulder-length gray hair and gray eyes. On her right sat Alphard Black and his wife Marissa, who was seven months pregnant. Alphard had wavy black hair and a mustache and crystal blue eyes while Marissa had light brown hair and navy eyes. After them came blonde-haired, blue-eyed Narcissa Black who was just beginning to show her own pregnancy, and her husband Gideon Black who looked striking with his short white-blonde hair and green eyes. On Gideon's right sat Andromeda, with her black waves and blue eyes, and her fiancé, Julius Flint, who was blonde and brown-eyed.
Across from Noelle sat Pollux Black, Arcturus' cousin, who was the spitting image of his son, Alphard, but with gray eyes. Cassiopeia Black sat on his left, white hair pulled back in a tight bun and gray eyes sharp. After Cassiopeia sat Cygnus, Pollux's other son, father to Bellatrix, Andromeda, and Narcissa, and his wife, Druella Black. He had black hair, gray eyes and a strong jaw and contrasted greatly with his wife's blonde hair and sky-blue eyes.
"Noelle has come with news that I thought the House of Black should hear united," Arcturus said, and all attention turned to Noelle.
She took that as her que and began, "Today I returned to England and learned that my brother and his wife were murdered, their son branded the Boy-Who-Lived, and my fiancé was thrown in jail for betraying their location. I confronted Albus Dumbledore because I hadn't received any letters from James or Sirius, which were to be delivered through Fawkes, as no owl could breach the wards of my location. When I realized that Dumbledore had hidden their deaths and Sirius' incarceration from me, I accused him of being responsible for the rise of two Dark Lords, demanded Hadrian's location, punched him in the face – which I'm fairly positive broke his nose – and snapped his wand."
There was shocked silence around the table before Cassiopeia began to roar with laughter, setting off everyone else at the table. It was no laughing matter, but imagining Noelle striking the pretentious old man was enough to break the tension. Even Noelle smirked.
"I demanded that Minerva McGonagall take me to Hadrian's location, because if anyone knew where he'd left him, it would be her. He left my kit on a doorstep, with a thin blanket, in November, at the house of Lily's magic-hating muggle relatives. When I arrived, they were entertaining themselves. The mother was feeding her extremely obese child, and her even fatter husband. I found that they had locked my nephew in a cupboard when they had two empty bedrooms upstairs. He was starved and beaten and was wearing a much too large shirt and an extremely dirty diaper. I stunned the adults and silenced the child and called Aurors Moody and Bones to press charges against them and Dumbledore, and to place their child in an orphanage. I healed Hadrian as quickly as I could and brought him here to request sanctuary," she finished.
Each Black had looks of horror and outrage etched onto their faces, and Cygnus asked, "What will you do?"
"I'm going to wait until Hadrian wakes up, we're going to Gringotts, and then I'm going to look into the trial of Sirius Black," Noelle said, before explaining her logical reasoning about Sirius' innocence.
Arcturus looked at each of their faces, before turning to Noelle and nodding, "The Blacks are behind you."
