A/N: The following chapter is not going to focus on Raven and Ian, and will instead focus on Dubs. Just a heads up. This is where the story starts veering off from the Teen Titans show by a wide margin.

It had been three days since the Slade bot defeat, and Robin hadn't left the evidence room, as usual when he was working on a case a bit too obsessively. Starfire was flying back and forth with worry, and Malgand'r was trying to help out by cooking something from Tamaran.

Cyborg was working on the T-car in the garage.

"So… B. M. Dubs is the super hero name you chose?" Cy asked his son. The boy smiled and handed him a wrench, "Yeah, I suppose it's fitting… It was originally B.M.W. It means Bio-mechanical Motherbox Wielder. Then my friends introduced me to Earth's Dubstep music and turns out I loved it, so they shortened the last syllables to Dubs. A Motherbox fragment fixed me after you made a frame that had rudimentary AI. After that I considered you my father. 'Course that was before you were misguided into trusting Superman in my Universe."

"No mom then?" Cyborg stopped working and got out from under the car. Dubs shrugged "Does Sarah count?" He asked.

Cyborg couldn't hide his blush. "So you know about her, huh?"

Dubs nodded, "It's not hard to figure out. Can… Can I see her?"

Cyborg sighed. "She does volunteer with disabled kids. She'll probably be okay with it. Alright, once I finish tuning up the car we'll call her and see if she's busy. Sound good?"

=ADD LINE=

"YOU HAVE A KID?" Sarah shouted out. "Granted he's adorable, but we're not even close to the right age for him to be that big!"

"Sar-" Dubs tried.

"Cyborg I can't believe he's actually even yours! He looks 5 years younger than you! And you expect me to-"
Dubs sighed and code fizzled through the air around him, his form appearing to 'glitch out' like a video game character for a moment. "I thought you'd say that..." he frowned and turned around, beginning to walk away. Sarah's mouth was open as she contemplated what she just saw.

"Is he a computer program? Did you want kids THAT badly?" she asked quietly. Cyborg was able to explain the whole ordeal and the fact that Dubs was apparently a future decision he would make that had come from a different universe's future entirely.

Sarah calmed down and walked over to Dubs, "So he made a living program because we couldn't have children of our own? Well I'm not calling you Dubs all the time. It doesn't sound right. Do you have another name? A less superhero one?"

"Um… I was never given one." He said sadly. Sarah turned to Cyborg as if to say 'You didn't think of one?' then turned back to Dubs. "How about Matt?"

The newly named Matt smiled, "Matt Stone… has a nice ring to it!"

Cyborg smiled, "Well we're here, might as well help around the place!"

Sarah beamed, "Thanks Cy! It means a lot for you to help even when hero work is your job."

Matt ran towards the kitchen, "I'll man the stove!"

"He can cook?" Sarah asked in surprise.

"First I've heard of it." Cyborg shrugged.

=About two hours later=

Matt was finishing up with his work in the kitchen when he heard someone laughing, and not a good laugh. Looking over, he saw a young lady of about a year older than his supposed age in a wheelchair being taunted by some teenage boys who probably came here often to feel better about themselves. She was attempting to get away from them, but there appeared to be something wrong with her hands as well, and she was being literally kicked around as the boys yelled, "Come on, Kirsty! You can do better than that! Do you really want us to stop or are you actually enjoying this, you freak!"

Something snapped in Matt. He glitched out and appeared in front of the boys. "Threat detected. Combat mode engaged. Message: Stand down or be forced to submit." he droned out with no emotion.

"What the-is this kid one of them robot metahumans?" one of the boys smirked. "Looks like we have a new toy boys!"

Dubs smirked as his eyes rotated mechanically. "Statement: Be advised that your skill level and mine are astronomically outmatched. Attacking a being that can harm Superman is illogical!" his arm morphed into a very dangerous looking proton cannon and he pointed it at them. They ran away in fear, and Sarah yelled, "Matt! Stop!"

Matt backed off and looked shaken. "Combat mode deactivated. My… my programming… I am so sorry!" he said as he looked at the girl in the chair, "I was just trying to protect...I didn't mean to activate combat mode-I..." he would have said more, but the girl that he had saved smiled at him weakly, "So cool!" she said, "Did you really mean it?"

"Mean what?" Matt asked. She grinned, "Being as strong as Superman!" she clarified. He nodded. The girl laughed, though it seemed to be with effort. "I wish I could do stuff like you! Fighting crime would be loads better than sitting in this chair all day. My name is Kirsty! I usually come here a lot, but with my condition getting worse, I simply can't-" she coughed into her hands and a bit of blood was shown before she continued, "-make the trip."

Matt knelt down next to her and his right robotic eye reconfigured into a scanner, "May I?" he asked. She nodded and he began all manner of scans, running simulated tests in his processors as each individual issue just made his hard drive ache with the pain of seeing just how broken her body was.

"Cy… can I talk to you for a sec?" he asked. Cyborg nodded and took Matt aside.

Matt frowned. "She needs medical surgery… Motherbox. Medical. Surgery." He said.

Cyborg was aware of what he was implying, and voiced his opinions on it in a hushed tone. "You know that stuff is unpredictable right?"

Matt smiled, albeit sadly and said, "Maybe to you, but I know my way around it like the back of my circuits. I was made from one integrating itself with me, remember? Kinda like you without the humanity." he said. "does Kirsty have any family that you know of?"

Cy shook his head. "Look, I know you want to help a girl like her. I get it. And no, she pretty much told us a few months back that she has no one to turn to, but… she has so many issues that her bill would be-"

Matt stopped him. "First off, she already said she'd be interested in hero work if she could only manage to even move in her condition. Second, she could work as a hero, and her pay will cover her bills, just deduct it from the Titan's funds. Use my portion since I'll be the one to operate! If you still have issues, then take it up with Robin and have him tell this girl she's gonna die because you failed to allow the hope of her living to surface!" he said not unkindly, but firmly.

Cyborg called Sarah over, and had a quiet talk with her. A few minutes later Sarah called Matt to speak with him. "If we do this, she'll be considered your sister. Are you okay with that?" Sarah asked.

Matt smiled. "Of course. That was the idea."

=An hour later=

The Titans were gathered around the med bay, minus Cyborg and Sarah, who were finalizing adoption papers at the courthouse.

"So why do we have a paraplegic with a slew of diseases in the med bay being put under for surgery?" Raven asked Robin as he scowled. Dubs was in the med bay with a Motherbox and other surgical equipment. Kirsty was put under with a smile on her face.

Robin spoke, "Cyborg said there was no way to change his mind. I don't know why I let this happen when we really should be rounding up what's left of Slade but..."

Ian shrugged as he looked at the window separating the med bay and the hall. "I think he just likes her enough to save her life. Plain and simple."

Catherine grinned, "It's more than that… if I had to guess he wanted a family and helping her seemed like the best course of action… he is a computer given flesh to a degree, after all."

Scott once again surfaced in Ian and sighed. Then he hit Catherine over the head. "Think with your heart. Not your logic." he chided "He was like an infant when he was first programmed. Remember when he got smart enough to have emotions? Motherbox tech to the degree that is needed from the schematics he showed us means rewriting her nerve endings to function using code. He knows how badly she wants to live and is willing to risk losing her. To put it simply, as he has only met her an hour ago, and his first reaction was to protect her, it may be that Dubs has finally gathered enough raw data to love people without simulating the process."

Beast Girl mewed, "Aww… our little virus has grown a heart! That's adorable!"

Starfire beamed. "I believe the term is the 'love at first sight', correct?"

Robin shook his head, "That would imply he wasn't prepared to become her brother. But it's something like that. The bond is familial."

Terra put her arm around BB and smiled, "Well I think it's pretty selfless for him to help her like thi- WHAT THE HELL?" she shouted in surprise as the Motherbox jumped into the air and latched onto Kirsty's chest, extending to her other body parts leaving only her head exposed, stopping at the top of her neck. Dubs immediately activated his advanced x-ray scanners and began configuring each simultaneous issue with the tech as it presented itself in her bio-metrics. In only a few minutes, Kirsty was covered in a sleek black exosuit with orange tubing and metallic silver segments.

Once he was finished with the implementation, Dubs gulped and attached a cable from the PC into her back, careful not to move her too much. Once that was done, he silently uttered, "Please work..." as he used his own electricity to surge into the computer and activate her systems. At first nothing happened. A further scan revealed that her lungs were not working, and he immediately put a ventilator in place as he configured the Motherbox and rerouted her systems further.

Coughing, she sat up, as she was no longer breathing the gas that kept her from waking. Putting a hand to her face, she glanced over at Dubs. "What on earth… Matt… do you have a mirror?" she asked. He nodded and handed her a hand mirror.

"I had to fix a lot of stuff so that you could live properly… are you angry?" Dubs asked.

Kirsty looked into the mirror and held a hand to he jaw, which now had a ventilator covering it. "So cool! I'm like a cyborg ninja!" she marveled.

Dubs smiled, "Well then, you should be able to access your different systems. Oh, and I made sure you'd be able to fight with practice!"

Cy barged in and Sarah was behind him, "Well alright! Welcome to the family!"

Kirsty stood and hugged Dubs. "Thank you so much!" she smiled, a tear running down her cheek. "Just walking again would have been enough, but this? I owe you!"

"Yeah, you kinda do. That was expensive surgery!" Dubs chuckled.

Kirsty laughed, "Guess I'll have to earn my keep then. So, now are you gonna introduce me to the team or what? I mean I know Cy and Robin… Raven, and Starfire and Beast Boy, but who're the others?"

Dubs smiled, "Most of us just got here a few days ago. Here's what happened..." He explained the reason why they were all there, leaving nothing out. At first she didn't understand, but he finally told her about evil superman, and the fact that he was the only one who could possibly live through a fight with the one in this reality if he turned against them. He also said live through specifically because he still lost the fight.

Welp…

Cue a dent in the ceiling.
