Chapter 19 - Overall Plan
(40 minutes later)
The tension was in the air at Lane 12. Some of the other bowlers present were cheering on Rufus for the 10th and last frame.
James and Ann were whistling for the mole rat.
"Come on, Rufus! You can make this, lil' buddy!" Ron exclaimed.
"Rufus! You totally am ab-fab at bowlin'!" Monique added her cheer.
"One final strike and you'll bowl a perfect 300!" Kim said, encouraging the naked mole rat.
"I'm trying to remember, KP. Did you bowl a perfect game?" Ron then asked the redhead.
"No duh, Ron! I so already did that...twice!" Kim replied, pointing to the two pictures of her on the '300 Club' mounted on the wall of the bowling alley. The pictures featured her in 8th grade with a '300' trophy and her in her sophomore year with another '300' trophy.
"Oh right...almost forgot about that..." Ron chuckled nervously, running his hand down his back.
Rufus took his bowling ball and released it from his paw. The ball made its way to the pins and knocked almost all of them down. Only one pin was left standing. It was twirling around and around...until it finally fell down.
"Yes! Strike!" Rufus chittered in triumph. The crowd erupted in thunderous cheers as confetti dropped from the ceiling.
"Hip! Hip! Hooray! Three cheers for Rufus!" exclaimed the crowd.
Ray, the owner of the Doghouse Alley, gave Rufus a '300' trophy.
"Congrats to Rufus, the naked mole rat!" Ray exclaimed.
"Hey, Rufus, mad props to ya!" Kim added, smiling at him.
"And of course, the guy who actually owns him!" Ron added as the photographer took the picture.
Rufus' picture was added to the 300 Club on the wall and Kim was present in the photo...while only Ron's left half was present.
"You did it, Rufus!" Ron exclaimed. "This calls for a celebration Naco at Bueno Nacho!"
Richard, meanwhile, wasn't impressed.
"I could bowl like that against that gross pink thing...blindfolded!" he boasted.
Genna was focused on a more important matter.
"Richie...get your head in the game, remember? We have to follow through on our end of the bargain!" she sneered at her boyfriend, using his pet name.
"Don't worry, Gen! We'll put that tracer on their vehicle tonight...whatever it looks like." Richard replied while forgetting which vehicles the Possibles owned. He had only been in their neighborhood a couple of times.
"Bonnie said it was something about an 80s van...come on, let's get out of here..." Genna insisted.
The couple then left the bowling alley.
(8:45pm)
The Possible family returned to the house all triumphant over Rufus' perfect game.
"Man...having dessert Nacos was awesomesauce!" Ron exclaimed as the group entered the foyer.
"I absolutelty didn't know Diablo chocolate sauce even existed until now!" Kim exclaimed.
"You may be surprised, KP, what BN Corp would come with next." Ron replied.
"So did everyone have a fun time bowling tonight?" James asked.
"I did!" Kim replied.
"Me too, hon!" Ann said while her hooked overalls strap slipped off her shoulder.
"As did we..." Jim began.
And Tim finished "...even though Ron finished last place."
"Hey! I wanted the bumpers on the alley!" Ron complained.
"Now that everyone has had fun, it's time to get serious for our trip to Utah tomorrow morning." James insisted.
"Yep." Ann added before pulling the overalls strap back up on her shoulder. "We need everybody to be awake at around 5:30am."
"That will give us plenty of time to load up the van." James added. "Which kinda reminds me that I need to hitch up the trailer to it!"
"You go ahead and do that, honey!" Ann said before giving her husband a kiss. James kissed back and took his keys to head on out.
"Hey, Ron, heading back to the Stoppable pad?" Kim asked.
"Yep. I gotta pack my stuff too before crashing for bed." Ron replied.
"Wanna have a quick piece of sugar before leaving?" Kim questioned, smirking.
"Don't mind if I do, KP!" Ron replied before kissing Kim on the lips.
Satisfied with the kiss, Ron added, "Good night! I'll see ya in the morning with the luggage and all!"
Both Kim and Ron smiled at each other as they headed on out for the night.
"I'll go ahead and pack up which overalls to wear for the trip." Kim replied, heading upstairs.
She then turned to her fashionista friend.
"Monique, you tagging along?"
"I got a passion for travel fashion, Kim!" Monique replied, "Right behind ya, girl!"
The two young women headed upstairs.
_
Kim went into her room followed by Monique.
"So which pairs of overalls are you bringin' to the trip?" Monique asked.
"Since we are going to be gone for two weeks, Monique..." Kim deducted, "I'm going to have to bring about 10 pairs, for I may be wearing a couple pairs twice."
"In this case, and since it's summer, girl, may I suggest a nice blend of t-shirts, tank tops, and croptop t-shirts." Monique suggested,
Kim pulled out cute Britina and Oh Boyz tees from her closet.
"There you go! A print like that would be perfs!"
The fashionista continued, "For the flare and leather pairs of overalls that you're goin' to wear to the fancier places, a couple button-up shirts are the way to go!"
"Double perfs! The 'rents will totes be amazed by it!" Kim exclaimed. "The other thing is the way for me to wear them."
Monique then suggested a strategy for wearing the overalls on the trip, "For actually goin' to the parks, I'd go with the both-straps-up routine. For chillin' or travelin', either the straps-up, one-strap or the bib-down-with-belt look would go well!"
"Triple perfs! I like that! A well-balanced overall look for the overalls!" Kim exclaimed, clapping her hands "With the right amount of earrings, it'll complete the look. Of course, if we do go out, some of the more glam jewelry will be used."
And so, Monique and Kim planned at length on which days to accessorize the overalls.
