Chapter 24 - Day 1: Bon Voyage

(7:56am)

The Possibles gathered up their luggaged and placed it in the back of the Platypus. The small trailer was unhitched and on the driveway.

"Well, Possible troops, that should be almost half of the luggage!" James said, dusting off his hands. He closed the latch doors to the rear of the van. "We are almost ready for our trip to Utah!"

"Just about, Dad! We have to pick up Ron first." Kim replied. "The Platypus should be big enough to hold it, right?"

"It does, Kimberly." James said confidently, pointing to the small space that was behind the third row, which was intended for Ron's luggage.

"But what about Joss and Larry's stuff?" Kim asked.

"That is the reason why I have the popup trailer!" James said, pointing to the small trailer, which was sitting unhitched on the driveway. It was the perfect size for five suitcases when laid down on their sides.

"You always think one step ahead!" Kim said, complimenting James.

"I got my stuff as well!" Ann said while wheeling out her two suitcases. The hooked strap of her overalls was barely on her shoulder. James opened up the latch and allowed his wife to put the two suitcases in the trunk. "Here we go!" She grunted and put the suitcases in. The strap briefly slipped off her shoulder before pulling it back up.

Kim saw this and groaned, "Mom, I want this to be a Humiliation Nation-free zone, so please don't embarrass me!"

"Aw come on, Kimberly, we can't possibly be that bad at embarrassing you!" Ann giggled.

"What about that time that you and Dad nearly did that embarassing PSA in front of the whole school?"

"Oh that one!" Ann snickered, "Your father forgot his belt that morning! So Ron's parents had to sub in at the last minute!"

"Or the time in freshman year that you nearly showed Bonnie my baby photos when I had to deal with DNAmy..." Kim muttered.

"All kids were babies at one time!" Ann smiled.

"Point is, as I said before, I want this to be a perfect vacation, especially for me and Ron. And speaking of a Humiliation Nation-free zone, I also want you and Dad to keep a special eye on them!" Kim said as the Tweebs came out in their usual outfits with a rocket ship toy.

"Don't worry, Kimmie-cub. We'll keep an eye on those two!" James said as he closed the latch doors of the van.

Kim groaned at her father.

"Dad, I know that you love to call me that term, but whatever you do don't say it around..."

"Yoo-hoo! Kimmie-cub...!" a familiar teenaged snarky voice came from behind.

"...Bonnie!" Kim grunted with frustration. She turned around and saw that she was in a stretch limousine. Bonnie had the windows rolled down.

Kim marched on over there.

"Well...well...well...look who decided to drop by...Bon-Bon!"

Bonnie was irked a little by that.

"Possible, would it be wise for you to never use my nickname in front of my friends!"

"Oh believe me, I'll use it whenever I get the chance, Rockwaller." Kim replied with a smirk.

"Is this your limo?" she then asked.

"Nope...Rebecca's!" Bonnie replied back with a smirk, pointing to the S family insignia on the trunk.

"Oh hey, Kimmie-cub..." Rebecca chuckled while petting her fluffy white cat, Miss Pixies, whom was dressed in a pink princess costume.

She then talked baby "Oh, you're so fluffy and cute, Miss Pix! Yes you are, yes you are!"

Kim shuddered at the sight of the cat.

"I'd hate to be that cat..." she muttered to her self.

Then Kim snarled back at Bonnie, asking, "So what are you doing here in front of my house?"

"Right! I was about to get to that part!" Bonnie giggled "I am going to the Middleton Airport with Rebecca here! We're on our way to visit one of her uncles in Florida!"

The brunette then whispered in Kim's ear, "He has a beach house in Miami!"

"You're so conceited, you know that, B?" Kim snarled at her cheer rival.

"I would take that as a compliment, K!" Bonnie replied with a smirk, flipping her hair. "I'm going to stay there for an entire month over there!"

"Good! The less I see of you, the better!" Kim growled.

"Now, if you don't mind, I would not want to miss my flight!" Bonnie cackled, "Toodles, K! See you in a month!"

Or maybe even sooner... she thought to herself. That is...once you fall into my little trap, Possible.

The stretch limousine went into the opposite direction on the way to Middleton Airport.

"So I take it that was Bonnie?" James asked.

"Ugh...obviously dad. And, next time, please warn me if that pesky brunette is around..." Kim muttered.

"I'll keep that in mind." James replied as the two Possible parents finished loading the vehicle.

Jim and Tim, of course, came out of the house, flying around in jet packs.

Kim gasped at what her brothers were doing.

"Tweebs?! Are you two trying to end up in the hospital again after what had happened with Adrenna Lynn?" the redhead exclaimed, referring to the former (and annoying) TV stuntwoman's faked stunts, "Your annoyance factor has gone up to 11 on a scale of 1 to 10!"

The Tweebs landed their jet packs.

"Sorry, Kim. We were wondering if you would..." Jim began.

"...be impressed with our jet packs." Tim finished.

"The answer from me is a big fat solid no..." Kim furrowed her brow at the two.

"Why don't you pack your jetpacks in the trailer?" James suggested, pointing to the trailer.

"Sure thing, Dad!" came both Jim and Tim's reply as they packed their jet packs in the trailer.

Kim groaned in frustration.

Monique and Tara then came up to the Possible house driveway as Tara was driving her car. Monique was in her blue Oh Boyz t-shirt, baggy CB denim overalls, giant blue earrings, and blue sneakers. Like Monique, Tara had her baggy CB denim overalls over her white croptop t-shirt and pink sneakers, And like Kim and Ann, the both of them had the left strap hooked and right strap off, dangling behind their backs.

"Girl, bestie! Good luck on your ab-fab trip!" Monique exclaimed, hugging Kim.

Kim embraced her right back.

"Don't worry, Monique. I'll be fine...as long as I am not in any form of embarrassment whatsoever on the trip."

"YBF, Kim!" Monique grinned in her trademark Monique-speak. "You'll be fine!"

"Yeah, it's not going to be bad at all." Tara added in trying to give confidence to the redhead.

"Thanks! Me and Ron are going to need every bit of it on this trip." Kim replied. "Especially with Larry looming..."

She then shuddered at the thought of sharing the back seat with her geeky cousin.

"Heya, Monique!" James said, waving his hand.

"Oh heya, Mr. P!" Monique replied back, waving her hand. "You and the fam leaving soon?"

"Yes, just as soon as Ronald gets here, we're going to hit the road!" James replied. "You and Tara are going to take care of the mail as we've agreed with the Smith and Queen families?"

"We are!" Monique said.

"Oh and also, make sure to come by every evening around 6pm to make sure the door is locked." James insisted, "We don't want anyone to steal our valuables or...worse yet...throw any wild parties!"

"You would so not have to worry about that sitch, Dad!" Kim said with a smile. "Wade has the entire house wired so that he could see every single nook and cranny!"

"That's a 10-year old tech genius for you!" James replied, laughing.

He stopped laughing and looked around and then looked at his watch on his wrist.

"Where is Ronald, by the way? He was supposed to be here 10 minutes ago!"

"He should be here...hopefully..." Kim replied with a bit of worry. She has always known that Ron's record was...spotty...when it came to timekeeping.

(8:10am)

"KP!"

The familiar voice of Ron came to the ears of the Possible family. He was carrying along two suitcases on wheels. Rufus was holding on to the handle of the suitcase carries on Ron's right hand. Ron was in his regular outfit.

"Thank goodness you're here, Ron!" Kim exclaimed as she almost kissed Ron on the lips.

"Ewww..." both the Tweebs reacted in disgust, interrupting their kiss. "Cootie virus alert!"

"Will you two just put a sock in it?" Kim retorted to her brothers, "We are BF/GF now, so get used to it!"

The Tweebs said nothing and got into the van.

"So are you ready for this trip?" Kim asked.

"KP, I am more than ready for anything!" Ron replied...right before he felt something crawling up his leg.

"Rufus?! Is that you?!" he then asked.

Rufus was sitting on the suitcase.

"Nuh-uh" muttered the naked mole rat.

Ron screamed at the top of his lungs "AHHHH! A bug is crawling up my leg! A horrible, vicious, blood-sucking bug!"

"Ron..." Kim groaned, "...it's a ladybug..."

As it turned out, said bug that was crawling up his neck was indeed what Kim described. Kim touched Ron's neck and allowed the ladybug to get onto her finger.

"See? Perfectly harmless!" Kim explained as she put the ladybug into the grass of their front yard. "Now let's get back to business and pack up your stuff!"

"Don't worry, KP! The Ron-man has got this in the bag!" Ron replied, trying to lift the wheeled suitcases into the third row of the van. He couldn't.

"Uhhh...little help here?" he asked.

"I got it, Ronald!" James replied, putting the suitcases in the third row of the van, closing the back doors.

"Nice save, Mr. DrP!" Ron exclaimed, clicking his tongue.

"Now I am going to hitch up the trailer next. That is intended to be for your cousins Larry and Jocelyn!" James added.

And he did so.

(20 minutes later)

James got in the driver's seat of the fully-packed van and trailer while Ann got in the passenger seat. The Tweebs sat in the middle row with Kim and Ron in the back.

"First stop, Boulder!" James grinned as he put on his sunglasses from his shirt breast pocket. He turned on the ignition to the Platypus and the van's engine hummed to life.

"Oh and Dad, don't forget..." Jim began.

And Tim replied, "...that we added a backup camera to the van and trailer last night."

Tim then pointed to the camera that was mounted on the dashboard of the Platypus

"You boys really have thought of everything!" James laughed as he put the van in reverse and an image of the street began to show on the camera. He then looked both ways and, seeing that there were no incoming cars, slowly pulled the van and trailer into the street.

James then shifted the gears to drive.

"And the Possibles are off to Utah!" he exclaimed as the Possible family headed out on the road.

However, little did they know that Genna and Richard were in the latter's vehicle. They both had that morning's newspaper covering up their faces.

"They're on the move!" Genna exclaimed.

"So what do we do now?" Richard asked, putting his hands on the steering wheel.

"We now follow the Possible family." Genna explained, "Don't you remember? We put the tracer on the trailer last night! I have them on the GPS thingey right here!" She pointed out a GPS device that analyzed where the tracer was going on the van.

"Oh yes, I remember now, Gen!" Richard recalled. "That's so we can track their every move, right?"

"Doy, yeah..." Genna retorted, "I am going to have to heavily rely on that tracer if I am to get that Country CB credit card from Rockwaller!"

"Furthermore..." she continued, "...remember what Rockwaller said. We need to follow them but we must not gain their attention!"

"Okay, I get what you said, Genna..." Richard signed, "Damn, you can be so hard sometimes..."

Genna huffed before Richard turned on the ignition to his family's sedan as they began to follow the Possibles.
