Chapter 25 - Day 1: The BN Stop
(9:15am)
Despite the delays in packing, the Possibles finally made their way out of Middleton and onto US Highway 85 North. The Platypus went onto the highway in a sea of northbound cars, albeit stopping at the traffic signals.
About five minutes in, when the Platypus went past the intersection of 85 and US 285, Ron asked from the back set.
"Hey, um, ?"
"Ronald, I am fully concentrated on the road right now." James replied as the van stopped at the light of 85 and Dartmouth Ave. "You'll have to defer the question to the wife."
"Gotcha..." Ron replied before then asking Anne.
" ? Can I ask a question?"
"Sure, I'm all brain and ears, Ron!" Anne said, smiling from the front passenger seat.
"Can we stop by a Bueno Nacho?" Ron asked, "I'm hungry..."
"Didn't you have breakfast at your house, Ronald?" James questioned, raising his right eyebrow.
"Sorry, Mr. DrP, but I was in a hurry to get ready and pack up for the trip that I forgot to eat." Ron explained.
Rufus nodded his head and also opened up his mouth.
"And Rufus is totally starving as well for that precious Tex-Mex!" Ron added.
"Kimberly, can you get Wade on the Kimmunicator to help Ronald out?" James asked. "I do have my hands full right now on the steering wheel."
"I'm on it, Dad." Kim replied as she got out her Kimmunicator that was sitting on her lap.
She turned it on and Wade came on.
"Heya, Kim, what's up?" the tech genius asked.
"Wade, can you help us find the nearest Bueno Nacho? Ron flaked out on breakfast before a family vacation...again.." Kim explained, for this wasn't the first time Ron avoided eating breakfast before leaving for a vacation early in the morning. "Also, we would need to avoid all the Denver traffic."
Wade typed very fast on his array of computer keyboards and came with the results.
"According to my scans, the nearest Bueno Nacho, when you factor out downtown Denver, is on W 104th Ave off I-25, in Sherrelwood! When you take construction on I-25 into effect, it's going to take about 30 minutes." he explained, "I'm inputting the coordinates to your dad's GPS!"
"You sizzling rock, Wade!" Kim grinned.
"Aww...man, do I have to wait a half-hour for the precious and famed Bueno Nacho breakfast burritos with extra syrup and Diablo sauce?" Ron complained, "Bueno Nacho, as per their SOP, usually stop serving breakfast at 10am!"
"Do not worry, Ronald! We will be able to make it in time!" James assured him.

(36 minutes later)
The Platypus finally made its way into the Bueno Nacho in Sherrelwood off W 104th. It was almost jammed packed.
"Aww man!" Ron complained, "We'll never find a spot!"
"Ronald, I have everything under control!" James insisted, "See? There are three open spots available!"
He attempted to try to park in the first spot, which was in the middle of the right lot, but a truck got to it first.
"Rats...let's try the second one."
James tried the second one but a sedan got to it.
"This is ridiculous...we'll have try the last one."
"Seriously?! Why do people keep on taking parking spaces?" Kim asked, groaning.
"Come on, Mr. DrP! You got this in the bag!"
The third and final spot was on the very edge of the lot.
"This time, I'm going to get it!" James insisted as he managed to park in the spot.
"And the rocket has officially landed."
"Boo-yah! We're in the zone!" Ron exclaimed in triumph. "Now, how many minutes do we have left?"
"Ten minutes!" Ann exclaimed.
"I hope the line isn't too long..." Ron whimpered.
"Kimberly, you watch your brothers while me, your mother and Ron get his food." James said, figuring out a quick plan. He and Ann unbuckled their seat belts and got out of the car, followed by Ron and Rufus.
Kim protested, "But Dad, what if they build some sort of rocket ship, or a drone that can spy on people?"
"Kimberly Ann...it's only going to be a few minutes!" James countered back. "Besides, what trouble could they do to you?"
"I can add a coffee with the order, KP!" Ron said with an offer.
"Please do, Ron...and make it a large with extra cream and sugar" Kim groaned as her parents and boyfriend made their way to the restaurant. "I'm going to need it if I ever catch the Tweebs doing something wrong."
She huffed and folded her arms in frustration, glaring at Jim and Tim from the middle row. She imagined them with devil horns on their head.
(2 minutes later)
The Possible parents and Ron entered into the Bueno Nacho. And they all gasped simultaneously. They were behind by four people.
"Oh no! We'll never get to the counter!" Ron whined. "Breakfast will be overwith!"
"Not on our watch, Ronald!" James replied, "We'll get to the counter before you can say geostationary transfer orbit!"
The four people took their orders and then came the Possibles and Ron's turn.
"Welcome to Bueno Nacho. May I take your order?" the server asked.
"Yes, my good man!" Ron replied, "A 3-pack of breakfast burritos with extra syrup and Diablo Sauce. And one large coffee to go please with extra cream and sugar. It's going to be a to-go order."
"Okay, with tax, that will come to $3.07." the server replied.
"I think Mr. Lincoln would like to have a date with the cash register, please!" Ron slyly replied, slipping a $5 bill onto the counter
"Alright, $1.93 is going to be your change!" the server said, handing Ron the change.

(10:05am)
The Possible parents and Ron (and Rufus) came out of Bueno Nacho with both the burritos in the bag and the large coffee for Kim. They headed toward the Platypus.
"KP, we're back with the snackage!" Ron replied, getting in the van. "And with your coffee!"
"Ah...thank goodness!" Kim exclaimed. "I thought they were about to plan to put rockets on the van or something like that!"
The Tweebs were playing their handheld video games.
Ron handed Kim the coffee.
"Thanks, Ron." Kim said, smiling at her boyfriend, "Good thing you didn't manage to spill the coffee this time!"
"Ask me this, KP. When have I ever been bad with coffee?" Ron asked.
"The time we went to the Rabid Dog coffee house in downtown Middleton last week. You spilled it on your pants." Kim replied back.
"Oh right..." Ron recalled, "That took me almost a week to get that stain out."
Kim put the cup of coffee in the cup holder. "I was about to be worried that the Tweebs would make something in only 10 minutes."
"Kim, they have such active imaginations!" Ann said with a smie.
"Riiiiiight...very active..." Kim muttered.
