Imperial-samaB: Not Jaune. The other blond. I mean, there's already a Monkey King expy in RWBY just waiting to be used. I don't know why almost everyone considers Jaune to be Son Goku but not Sun Wukong.
TheDragon2000: Oh. There's gonna be WHAMS everywhere...
ParadoxReader: Jaune isn't Lucy. I can guarantee that he's a Fairy Tail member but not Lucy.
Chapter 25: Another Visit to the City
Jaune Arc sighed as he walked down Vale's streets, trying to calm down his nerves. He'd texted apologies to his teammates already but the damage had been done.
They just needed the space apart after the disastrous event that had happened in the morning.
Flashback Start
"I HATE YOU!"
"Oh! Well next time, don't destroy my trade routes!"
Team JNPR was seated around their room table with a game of Remnant set up. Originally, Jaune wanted to use the game as a means of improving his multitasking abilities and lessening tensions before the Vytal Tournament, but things immediately went off the rails.
Atlesian Commander-in-Chief Jaune Arc had tried to establish order by being the peacekeeper in the situation. "Nora, give Lie your 5,000 Lien. You landed on his property."
Vacuan Warchief Nora Valkyrie couldn't believe this injustice. "No! He's been overrun! I'm not going to hand over my hard stolen money to a loser!"
"That's not how you PLAY!" Mistralian King Lie Ren shouted in an uncharacteristic burst of rage, flailing his arms about in a tantrum as he had had enough with Nora's excuses. "And just what do mean by 'hard stolen'?!"
Valean Head Councilwoman Pyrrha Nikos shyly backed away in fright before turning to Jaune. "Jaune, why is everyone screaming?"
Atlesian Commander-in-Chief Jaune instantly lost his shit. "Shut the fuck up, Pyrrha! You don't get to talk after killing off my AK-160s and stealing my last Dropship Regiment! What's the point of our alliance if you steal from me?! How'd you even do that to your ally?!"
"It's my first time playing this game, alright!" Valean Head Councilwoman Pyrrha burst into tears of frustration. "I WISH I WAS NEVER BORN!"
"ME TOO!" Jaune cried as he crushed Pyrrha into his chest. "YOU THINK I WANTED THIS!?"
"SCREW YOU ALL!" Nora yelled as she copied Jaune and locked Ren's face into her chest as well.
Flashback End
Jaune shivered in his reminiscing. 'Let the past die, Jaune. Kill it, if you have to. That's the only way to forget that cursed game.'
As soon as he arrived at the park, he dropped down to a bench with a popsicle in his mouth, sighing in boredom and closing his eyes. "So much for not overworking myself before the Tournament. Maybe I should've accepted Yang's earlier proposal for a spar. I'm so bored right now."
There was a pitter of small steps around him at once. "Really?"
Jaune opened his eyes to see himself surrounded by the kids who had just been playing in the park. "Wh-What?"
"Oh, wait!" Jaune's gaze settled on the Raccoon Faunus girl at his side. "You're that lost girl from before, aren't you? Raphtalia, right?"
Raphtalia nodded her head happily, her shaggy hair flailing about. "If you're bored, then let's play together, Mister Jaune!"
"W-Well, I'm actually kinda busy-"
"Liar! You just said that you were bored!" One of the kids called out Jaune, cutting off the knight's words.
Jaune sighed and then stood up while taking in the rest of his popsicle. "Well, you got me there. Mister Jaune'll play with you all."
As the kids cheered, the two boys in the back of the group chuckled in derision.
"Hah. 'Mister Jaune', right?"
"He's acting like an adult trying to reconnect with kids after a long period."
As the girls suggested a game of soccer, Jaune overheard the boys' words and grinned sharply enough to break his popsicle stick.
As the boys played together, Jaune was very sure to not hold back his physical abilities, easily dribbling past the opposing team and scoring more than enough goals to convince the goalkeeper in giving up to stop any goal from him particularly.
"Are you really going all-out against a 12-year old?" The boy panted.
Jaune burst into a false haughty laugh. "I'm sorry. Mister Jaune was just trying to 'reconnect' with you kids."
"Meanie! Jerk! Poophead!"
"Say what you wa-"
"Hotstepper!"
"Gurk! That's still popular, huh?"
"Pumpkin Pete loser!"
This was a referral to Jaune's hoodie. Even in his civilian wear, he had still worn it as it was one of his favorites. And after it had just been insulted, Jaune took that personally which was clarified by his clearly clenching fist.
"What'd you just say, you brat?!" Jaune burst into a very short chase, easily overtaking the retreating kid and taking his cheeks hostage as he pinched them. "Did I hear something cocky come from this mouth?"
"Quit it!" The boy struggled out of Jaune's grasp and pouted at him. "One day, I'll be a Huntsman, then I'll beat you!"
"I'll be waiting!" Jaune accepted. "You have a long way to go, though."
"Hey, hey!" Raphtalia called Jaune's attention. "You have Aura, right?"
Jaune blinked. "Well, yeah. That's kinda a prerequisite in my occupation."
"He's the same as Nickel, then!" The other girl who had called him out earlier, looking at the aforementioned boy.
"Really? You have your Aura unlocked?"
"Yeah, but..." The boy raised his palm and concentrated, holding his breath as his face turned red until a flicker of silvery light flickered across it. With that, the boy released his breath. "This is all I can show..."
"That's fine, considering how young you are." Jaune crouched down and raised his own hand, letting it be wreathed in his own Aura, drawing in all the kids as they swept their fingers through the thick plasma-like essence. "Aura is kinda like a muscle. You flex it enough, it'll grow. If you practice a lot, you can learn how to do other things."
"So could he resonate with you?" Raphtalia tugged Jaune's wrist as she asked.
"Resonate?"
"Like vibrate Aura against each other!"
"Oh!" Jaune blinked in surprise as Raphtalia referred to a technique just below {Fusion} in terms of teamwork spells. "That won't work. {Aura Resonance} requires people who trust each other implicitly. Like siblings, couples and the like."
Raphtalia tilted her head. "Really?"
Jaune patted the adorable girl's head. "Think of it of a tug-of-war in which you simultaneously pull and push with our Auras acting as the line. If Nickel went and did it with me right now, I'd easily overpower him and risk overriding his ego. On the other hand, if I were his elder brother or someone he was close to, my Aura wouldn't override it outright. It would simply acknowledge itself as the superior while subduing Nickel's Aura into a supportive role."
"That sucks..." Nickel groaned as he and Raphtalia swung from Jaune's outstretched arms. The were the only kids who had kept interest in Jaune's explaination while the others had continued playing.
"Yeah, that's..." Jaune trailed off as he and Emerald Sustrai locked eyes as the latter walked by. The two just stared at each other before Jaune shrugged and went back to swinging about the kids on his arms.
"J-Jaune. What a surprise to see you here with kids." Emerald stuttered. She was shocked at this sudden encounter. She had just gone for a walk (pickpocketing spree) and had now run into one of Cinder's targets.
Jaune Arc was a focal point of interest concerning both Cinder and Mercury.
Cinder's reason was understanding. Jaune was a Team Leader in charge of Pyrrha Nikos and was much less naïve compared to his fellow Leader Ruby. After all, he'd always been giving both Cinder and Mercury suspicious glares, as if his instincts warned him of them constantly. Emerald didn't know why he wasn't as wary of her but it didn't matter.
Mercury's reason on the other hand, was just a selfish wish. The assassin had claimed that the knight's behavior and fighting had reminded him of someone he couldn't remember. He didn't know why but if fighting Jaune again helped out, he'd subtly revealed to Emerald that he would even ditch Cinder's plans for such a chance. And as much as Emerald disliked Mercury, she knew very well that he was only following Cinder out of interest. Not loyalty.
After all, 'he had noting better to do'.
With this encounter, she would glean as much info as she could from the knight as possible. After all, considering that he stopped Mercury from fighting Pyrrha and did so in a way that didn't reveal much of his own skill, didn't that mean that he owed them?
"Why are you surprised?" Jaune stopped swinging, unshaking as a third kid climbed up his back to clutch his neck and shoulders. "We don't know each other well enough to have that image of me."
"True..." Emerald fidgeted, then bent forward in a way that subtly emphasized her mocha-skinned cleavage. She inwardly chuckled as she noticed the Raccoon Faunus kid scrunch up her face as she noticed the tactic. "So how about I fix that and hang around with you today~? I've got lots of free time~"
Jaune took a short glance before rolling his eyes as if he'd seen better, unknowingly shooting a hole through Emerald's womanly pride. "Fine. Whatever. I don't really caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..."
Jaune trailed off, distracted as one of the little girls had taken her jacket off to reveal... an X-ray & Vav badge pin.
Emerald blinked as Jaune gently unloaded his passengers before literally blurring to the badge pin girl, kicking off a lot of dust in the process.
"Tell me!" Jaune placed his hands on the badge pin girl's shoulders in fanboyish desperation. "Where did you get that badge pin?!"
Jaune, Emerald, Raphtalia and the kids stood in the mall, with Jaune giving the capsule vendor in front of him the glare reserved only for the worthiest of foes.
"An analog Gacha machine..." Jaune growled as he crossed his arms, uncaring as Raphtalia cutely copied his motions. "This will be troublesome."
Jaune got to his knees and started off immediately, inputting the money to get right to it.

"Hey look, some teenagers are playing with the capsule vendor."
Emerald twitched as some passing adults commented on the rare sight, causing the thief to frown when Jaune didn't react to them at all.
"They're probably buying them for all those kids around them."
"Aww, that's so nice of them! And pretty rare."
"They're most likely big siblings or friends with them."
"Emerald!" Jaune turned to the girl and handed out some money. "Go get me some change!"
"Huh? Why me-?!" Emerald choked on her words as an invisible pressure slammed onto her.
OBEY.
It was like a heightening of terror, a force of will that made her seem small and afraid when under the maniacal Jaune's glowing white eyes.
"I'm counting on you!"
Emerald staggered back into the patting hands of the boys behind her.
"Don't argue. Those are the eyes of an obsessive fan on a hunt. Right now at this moment, you're better off not thinking of him as a sensible person."
"Y-Yeah."
In the end, there were two baskets of unwanted badge capsules and a despondent Jaune. "It didn't have any..."
"Um..." The badge pin girl raised her hand to where her badge was. "If you want, I'll trade you mine-"
Oh, right!" Raphtalia grabbed Jaune's hand and pointed away. "There was one in front of the bus station, too!"
Emerald and the other kids flinched as Jaune came back to life, actually shimmering a bit as his Aura reflected his reawakened hunting spirit.
At the station, after three baskets of unwanted badges, Jaune raised an X-ray & Vav badge in tearful triumph.
"Thank goodness!" Raphtalia applauded. "You found one!"
"Thank you!"
'Thank goodness.' Emerald and the kids applauded along, all thinking the same words in sync. 'Seriously, thank goodness.'
"Well, I guess I can finally..." Jaune trailed off as he blankly stared at the acquired item in his hand. "Wait a sec, what was I going to do with this again?"
Has your collector's spirit ever flared up, driving you to go on a rampage while gathering everything that's ever been made of your favorite franchise? And then you went and did it with utter seriousness, completely ignoring the consequences? This is a multiversal affliction in which Jaune Arc himself is not immune to.
'Even I know that I can't pin this to my hoodie or armor.' Jaune speculated. 'My team won't mind but I can already hear Sun's laughter in my ears. And I'm not even going to touch the possibilities of my sisters finding out.'
"Hey, Mister Jaune!" Nickel called out as they looked over the five baskets of unwanted badges. "What are going to do with all these? Can we have some?"
"Oh? Sure, you kids can have them all as compensation for your patience with me."
"Really?!" The kids cheered as they instantly dove in, arguing with playful seriousness as they divided the spoils. They were six kids with five baskets after all.
"Maybe, if I put it behind my shield..."
"Outta my way, vermin!"
Jaune turned around just in time to see Raphtalia literally kicked aside by... the racist Atlesian Hunter-in-Training from the time he met Raphtalia.
"Hey! What the big idea?!" Nickel and the boys ran forward to crowd him and his equally racist partner. "Why'd you hurt Talia?!"
"Didn't your mommy ever tell you not to get in the way of your betters?" The Atlesian's female partner dropped out of their nearby van and kicked forward at the kids only to be blocked by Jaune's own kick diverting her wind attack on Nickel.
"You kids alright?" Jaune asked in worry, his rage barely held back. "Raphtalia?"
"I'm fine, Mister Jaune!" The Raccoon Faunus recovered swiftly. "Avenge me!"
"Hah?!" The Atlesian male stepped forward dripping in arrogance. "You think you can beat me? How about I let you land a hit? I dare you to knock me over."
"...for real?" Jaune tilted his head at guy.
"For real, for real." The Atlesian male haughtily made a 'bring it' pose. "I dare you."
"Okay." Jaune blurred as he slammed his fist into the Atlesian's gut with his full strength, breaking his Aura and sending him flying straight into his equally racist bitch of a partner before they both crashed straight into their nearby van hard enough to knock it over and send it spinning a bit.
"Knocked! Over!" As Jaune laughed in triumph and put his hand up in a reverse L-sign that he somehow knew by instinct despite never having done or seen it before, Emerald sighed as she looked upwards in exasperation while the kids cheered. "Where did my day go...?"
As the Sun dipped lower into the horizon, Jaune and Emerald accompanied the kids to their homeward bus.
With a cheerful smile, Jaune and Emerald waved the kids goodbye.
"Well, I don't know about you but I'm heading back." Jaune waved away as he turned around. "I'm sure everyone's calmed down by now."
"Wait!" Emerald called sharply as soon as they got to a private area near the station entrance, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Before we part, there's something that's been bothering me a bit. What are those keys hanging from your neck?"
Jaune looked at the three Golden Gate Keys and one Silver Gate Key that had fallen outside his clothes at some point. "They're special and none of your business."
Jaune stepped out of Emerald's grip, getting worried at the smirk on her face. "Oh? How special?"
Jaune's eyes narrowed at Emerald's words. "Special enough to hurt you if you so much as scratch them."
"One of them is already messed up."
Jaune's hand flew up to Virgo's Key. "This was from a mistake on my part. A mistake I can't properly atone for since the bastard who incited this mistake is dead."
"Really?"
It was only due to Observation Haki that he was alerted of the brush of fingers against his Keys. It didn't matter if she wanted to just take a look. It didn't matter if she actually wanted to steal it. It didn't matter if it was just a joke and she wanted a reaction.
There was a reason why Roman, a far more superior thief to Emerald, never tried to touch the keys. By sheer instinct, the fashionable thief had realized that whether positive or negative, a Celestial Spirit Mage's protectiveness of their keys could reach murderous levels.
*KRUNCH!*
Emerald withheld a scream as Jaune's Hardened hand crushed her wrist in an instant. Jaune's eyes were uncaring as his fingers clenched further and squeezed the girl's wrist even tighter, forcing her shattered bones to grate together and blood to stain the ground and his thankfully dark pants as it splashed about.
"P-Please." Emerald whispered, falling to her knees from the immense pain. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean-"
His hand tightened again, without him really meaning to. She cut off with a whimper.
"Did I not warn you? What the hell were you thinking?" Jaune chided the sobbing girl on her knees beneath him.
Emerald flinched as Jaune knelt down as well before clutching both hands over her wrists. She then gasped as the pain lessened intensely in her wrist, watching in morbid fascination as her crushed hand was slowly bathed in white Aura before her own mint green Aura took over, gleaming much brighter than it was supposed to.
White bone gleamed in the station's fluorescent lights but it wasn't the only thing gleaming.
Shining filaments, like tendon, drew quickly from one jagged end of the wounds to the other. There were hundre- no, thousands of them. They threaded among one another like a spiderweb spinning itself, drawing into a tighter and tighter weave.
Then they tensed, and Emerald felt her bones snap back into place as the multiple small wounds started to draw shut. Nothing could be done about the blood on the floor, but for the blood still on either of their clothes, therefore their Auras, it was all sucked back into the still open wounds as they closed. There was a shimmer, and then one last twitch. The wound, which Emerald could easily tell would have taken hours at the very least to heal, was fixed up under a minute.
"Dammit." Emerald looked to see a mix of wonder and frustration on Jaune's face. "Of all things to trigger my Semblance for the first time, it's my immense guilt for nearly crippling someone. Well, it's convenient to say the least."
"L-Let go." Emerald stuttered as his grip hadn't lightened in the slightest. Her wound was healed but his Aura was still pushing into her. If this Semblance was unlocking for the first time, did that mean that he had practically zero control?
'If my Semblance affects Aura's directly, I do need a guinea pig to test it on...' Jaune hummed as he looked down on Emerald before shaking his head. "No. I want to check a few things first."
Emerald didn't have a chance to speak before his hand caressed her face. On his end, there was a sudden pulling sensation, something hard to explain but like a piece of him was seeping away. It wasn't unpleasant at all and it felt like he could do that thousands of times. If he had to offer up a comparison, it was pretty much like blood transfusion except that it was his Aura instead and it felt like the Aura was being amplified several times over in order to keep the donor conscious.
Emerald shuddered into his arms, pulling him down to a convenient bench behind him. Thankfully, the area seemed to be deserted as one would definitely question a girl on her knees before a seated guy.
Jaune blinked as Emerald's eyes snapped open with a strong crimson glow, and suddenly she was fire incarnate, burning his hands, his face, his-
Emerald choked as Jaune's hand choked her neck, cutting off her Semblance while increasing his Aura flow. 'Why didn't my Semblance work on him?!'
Emerald had definitely hoped her Semblance would be strengthened as well, unknowing that it was temporarily evolving to affect all senses beyond just sight. However, by sheer instinct, Jaune had instantly realized the illusion before him and had promptly killed her focus. If she didn't know better, she would've assumed that he personally knew someone who had used much better illusions on him on a constant basis.
'Still, why is it working like an aphrodisiac?' Jaune thought as Emerald's blush grew stronger despite his hand still choking her neck. 'If I'm guessing correctly, it seems that due to her hand now being fully healed, it's now just affecting her body without triggering her adrenaline? Lust? No, pleasure. If pain is a signal born from damage being done to the body, pleasure would be the signal born from the opposite.'
Jaune swallowed as he slowly brought his hand down, trailing a finger down Emerald's throat, through her slowly heaving breasts until he reached her toned stomach.
Emerald opened her mouth, only to hunch over his arm as Jaune sent a pulsing wave of white light into her stomach- directly into her core.
"Ah~!" Emerald's body writhed, simultaneously trying to push away from him yet draw closer, a problem he amplified when he pulled her up to sit her on his lap where his erection strained against his pants.
"Y-You..." Emerald growled as Jaune's hands slipped to separate directions. He was no longer restraining her, giving her the option of getting away from him. While his left hand trailed upwards towards the undersides of her breasts, his right trailed across her waistline, causing Emerald as she started grinding against his erection of her own volition. "I-Is that the b-best you can d-do? Getting me off with your Semblance? I-I've had better."
Jaune stared at the girl who'd just challenged him into having sex with her. "The best I can do? Emerald, this has been nothing but self indulged experimentation. Still, we should stop here."
With that, he slid her off and adjusted both their clothes, humming through the confused and horny stares she sent him.
"A-Aren't you going to d-do more?" Emerald asked, trembling as she rubbed her thighs together.
"Nope." Jaune stood to attention, a cool smile dancing across his lips as he fell into his Miles Luna persona. "Considering how my Semblance is affecting your mind, I'm not willing to accept that as consent. Besides, I'm still a bit pissed at you. I've had angry/hate sex before but it says much that I don't want to fuck you, despite how really hot you are."
With his grin widening at Emerald's dropped jaw, he leaned forward to grab her ass roughly and pull her into his chest. "Thanks for the experience, though. I apparently couldn't have gotten my Semblance without you. Now, I can grow even stronger in order to protect the ones I care about."
Jaune bit back a laugh at Emerald's utterly pale face. He might not know why Roman and Neo had such suspicious hatred for this girl and her team, but it was most likely for a good reason. And for that reason, he would protect his friends from them.
"Bye, Emerald." After a little bite on her neck, he was already walking away. "See you at the Festival! Tell Merc to do his best!"
"Just who do you think you are?!" Emerald surged towards him, {Thief's Respite} swiftly moving to decapitate him, only to uselessly clash against his Hardened forearm. "Are you trying to threaten me?!"
"Yes. Consider this a declaration of war if you want." Jaune's answer stopped her cold from the utter seriousness in his demeanor as his personality was briefly replaced by someone else. Someone stronger and far more protective than Jaune Arc was. As he leaned forward to glare into her eyes, his Aura flickered into existence and changed from white to gold with sparkles. "Now listen carefully, you. I don't care whether there's a Seraph or Devil or even a Rex backing you up."
Jaune stepped forward to grind his forehead against Emerald's, intimidating her further. "Anyone who lays a hand on my frien- no, my Nakama is the enemy! I'll destroy them all."
Emerald nervously swallowed as the utter weight of his word seemed to crash against her shoulders. For a brif second, even if she hadn't started fighting him for real, she wondered if this knight in front of her was human.
"Just... what are you?"
Jaune blinked before smiling and leaning away. "I'm Jaune Arc. I'm also a reincarnated Fairy With a Tail. Emerald Sustrai, please be quiet about what has happened between us, okay?"
"W-Why?"
"Why? It's no good to make enemies out of strangers when they can be friends. I may not know my past name yet," At this Emerald blinked in confusion a bit. "But I do know that I was an extremely protective person. Don't test me or I will lay down the Law."
