There was darkness and silence. A heavy silence that pressed down on her, making it difficult to breath and bear.

Then there was sound. A soft beeping to her left that seemed to be in sync with her breathing. Each time her chest went up there was a soft beep that was repeated the falling of her chest. With each passing second, or was it a passing eternity?, Nami found a bit of strength to push open her eyes a bit further. She was assaulted with a bright light, blaring overhead.

A face appeared over her. "Well, I'm glad that you're back with us, my dear. You gave us all quite the scare."

Nami blinked and found it a chore to get her eyes back open.

"Now. Don't work yourself up." There was a sensation of being pet on her shoulder before it disappeared. "Get some sleep. You and your companion will be safe here at the X-Manor."

X-Manor. The X-Men….they've saved us. How nice.

Her eyes slid shut and she was embraced by a heavy darkness.
