Here's Chapter Seven! A lot of this came directly from the third book. I own nothing of Harry Potter. Enjoy!
Halloween wad came quickly, everyone was excited about the Hogsmeade trip. Grace had set her alarm early so she could spend a lot of time with Harry. She had gotten up and walked down to the Great Hall after changing into something comfortable. On the way there she had to talk to her brother who was terrorizing the First Years. After eating and talking to her friends, she walked back to the Gryffindor Tower. The Fat Lady asked for the password, and Grace, after giving her it, walked into te=he common room. She had just sat down and was thinking how she hadn't seen Harry yet today when the portrait door swung open. It was him.
"Harry! I was just wondering where you were," Grace exclaimed.
"Sorry, I was talking to my friends."
"Oh, you're fine. So what do you want to do today?"
"Can we just walk around the castle for a while?"
Kowing Harry was upset he couldn't go to Hogsmeade she agreed. They walked out of the common room and started walking aimlessly around the school. They had ended up by the library and ran into Filch, who had just seen off the last of the students.
"What are you two doing," he snarled suspiciously.
"We're walking around, catching up," Grace explained truthfully.
"Well, don't get into trouble," he said as he walked away.
"Come on," Grace said to Harry, "let's go this way."
They were walking down a corridor when they heard a voice.
"Harry? Grace?"
They had looked back to see who had spoken and saw Professor Lupin, looking around his office door.
"What are you doing," said Lupin, "where are Ron and Hermione?"
"Hogsmeade," answered Harry in a casual tone.
"Ah", Lupin considered them for a moment, "why don't you guys come in? I've just got a delivery of a Grindylow for our next lesson."
"Really!?" Grace shouted and ran in, knocking Professor Lupin over.
"A what?" Said, Harry.
He followed a very surprised Lupin into his office. In the corner nest to Grace stood a very large tank of water. A green creature with sharp little horns had its face up against the glass, flexing its long, spindly fingers.
"Water demon, " said Lupin surveying the Grindylow thoughtfully," we shouldn't have much difficulty with him. The trick is to break his grip. Notice the abnormally long fingers? Strong but very brittle. Cup of tea?"
"Yes, please," Grace said.
Lupin tapped the kettle with his wand and a blast of steam issued suddenly from the pot.
"Sit down," said Lupin gesturing to two chairs," I've only got teabags I'm afraid- but I daresay you guys had enough of tea leaves."
They looked at him. Lupin's eyes were twinkling.
"How did you know about that," Harry asked.
"Professor McGonagall told me," Lupin said passing Harry and Grace some tea. "You're not worried, are you?"
"No," they said.
Grace thought for a moment of telling Lupin about the dog Harry and her saw but decided not to. Something of Grace's thoughts seemed to have shown on her face, because Lupin asked, "Anything worrying you, Grace?"
"No."
While Lupin talked to Harry about his boggart, Grace couldn't help but notice something. Harry and her look alike. They both had bright green eyes and the same face shape. Also, Grace thought it was funny how she didn't inherit the Malfoy white hair. ANd sho couldn't help but wonder why Harry and her connected so quickly. Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door.
"Come in," called Lupin.
The door opened, and in came Snape. He was carrying a goblet, which was smoking faintly, and stopped at the sight of Harry and Grace, his black eyes narrowing.
"Ah, Severus," said Lupin, smiling, "thanks very much. Could you leave it here on the desk for me?"
Snape set down the smoking goblet, his eyes wandering between Grace, Harry, and Lupin. Grace looked into the Goblet and recognized the potion instantly. Wolfsbane. Snape's lips twitched up for a split second. He knew that she knew.
"Thanks very much again, Severus."
"Not at all," said Snape.
"Wait! Snape! I need to talk to you!" Grace said, but he ignored her and walked out.
"Git," she mumbled. Lupin hearing her hid his smirk with his teacup.
"Well, Harry, Grace, I'd better get back to work. I'll see you at the feast later."
"Right," Harry said, putting his cup down and standing up.
"Harry, I'll meet you in the common room. I have to ask Professor Lupin something."
"Ok."
Grace waited untilHarry shut the door before she turned back to Lupin. She was quite surprised to find him studying her. He leaned back in his chair and smiled kindly. Grace cleared her throat.
"So, I have two things. The first is, I know that was wolfsbane, which only means one thing. You're a werewolf."
Lupin sighed, "Yes, I am. It's a long and sad story. I suppose you'll turn me in?"
"What!? No! You're one of the best, the best, DADA teachers I've had. I would do nothing to get rid of you."
"You're too kind," Lupin smiled, then said to himself, "so much like your mother."
"That's the other thing. My parents. From stories I've heard you were friends with Harry's dad, James Potter."
"Yes... go on."
"Well, I couldn't help but notice similarities between Harry and me. Please tell me I'm not the only one who noticed."
Lupin sighed for what seemed like the hundredth time.
"Grace, you and Harry look-alike for one reason and one reason only. You're his sister."
Grace was about to speak but Lupin put his hand up to stop her.
"Please, hear the whole story," Grace nodded, " Lily and James had you at a young age, not a lot of people knew about you. When they passed away, Dumbledore saw it fit for you to grow up with a magical family. He brought you to the Malfoys in hopes they would raise you as their own."
"But why separate Harry and I? Why not send me with Harry to live at the Dursleys?"
"Dumbledore had his reasons. But the main thing is, you were five, you knew of magic he couldn't take that away from you."
Grace sat in silence for a minute.
"What are you thinking of," Lupin asked.
"weather or not I should tell Harry. I'm going to write to my parents about it."
"Still going to call them your parents?"
"Blood or not, they raised me. They're the only parents I know. James and Lily, they have a place in my heart," Grace stopped, "you know, on the train when the dementor passed my compartment, I saw Lily lifeless on the floor. Her dull eyes staring up at me, It was like I was there again."
"Yes; they bring back your worst memories. but, not to change the subject, I think you should wait a while before telling Harry. Brake it to him slowly."
"Thank you, Professor. I swear I won't tell anyone your secret I should go," Grace said, "see you at the feast."
"Goodbye."
Grace walked back to her Headgirl dorm to find her friends Bri and Ella already there.
"Great! You're back, I need to tell you something."
"What is it," Bri asked.
"This is going to be a little bit of a shock," Grace said.
"Just tell us," complained Ella.
"I'm not a Malfoy, I'm a Potter. I'm Harry's older sister. Professor Lupin just told me."
"Oh my god," they said together, "that is a shock."
"I have to write to my parents, adoptive, and tell them I know. Will you guys wait for me to head to the feast?"
"Yes, but we want more info later," Bri said.
Smiling, Grace pulled out a quill and parchment and started writing.
Dear Mother and Father.
Scholl has been good, classes are hard, Draco is being Draco, so all is well. I was talking to a Professor and had a question, obviously. They answered and cured my curiosity. I guess I should say thank you for raising me as your own. It must have been hard with my red hair, but you did it. Nothing is changing now that I know. Though I think I want to change my last name to Potter. I hope you're not mad. Know that you are still my parents and I love you so. No wonder you weren't mad when I was sorted into Gryffindor, it's in my blood. I should probably go to the Halloween feast now. I hope to hear back from you soon.
Love G. L. M-P
"Let's go to the feast," Grace said putting down the quill, "I'm starved."
As they were walking down to the Great Hall, Grace told them more about her time with LUpin and what he said. They finally reached the Entrance Hall and crossed into the Great Hall. It had been decorated with hundreds and hundreds of candle-filled pumpkins, a cloud of fluttering live bats, and many flaming orange streamers, which were swimming lazily across the stormy ceiling. The food was delicious; even Bri and Alla who were full of Honeydukes sweets managed second helpings of everything.
Grace kept glancing at Harry. She couldn't help but think how relieved she is going to be when she told him. The feast finished with entertainment provided by the Hogwarts ghost. They popped out of the walls and tables to do a bit of formation gliding; Nearly Headless Nick, the Gryffindor ghost, had great success with a reenactment of his botched beheading.
When they were done Grace left to patrol the hallways. What she didn't know was what was going on at the Gryffindor portrait. She was halfway down a hallway when out of a corner stepped Sirius Black. Grace froze, he froze. They stared at each other for a while. Grace was so surprised she had no sense to reach for her wand. She was about to turn around and run away when he spoke.
"Grace, I'm not the person they say I am."
Finally! I had this chapter wrote but it took me a while to type it. Feedback is greatly appreciated. :)
