Chapter 3: Preparing for War

Morning came and thankfully no further attacks came from the Lizardmen.

I stood by my balcony from my master bedroom as I watched my Night elves warriors doing their task, some are repairing with the help of the Wisp while others patrolling or tending to the worried civilians and keeping them safe from any more surprises while the rest are guarding the Ramparts underground tunnels to make sure those fuckers don't come back.

Last night was an eye awakening for me, something that taught me that no matter how retardedly stupid the enemy might be they still are a threat that I cannot underestimate or else you will pay dearly for it.

I still blame myself for allowing it to happened, I mean how the fuck was I supposed to know those brain dead morons would have the capacity to use the lever for the portcullis when the Lizardmen that I fought few days ago didn't even know the front fucking door was open and dug a hole instead to get inside the mansion?

...You know, I'm starting to think those Lizardmen I fought were exiled from the others for a good reason if they were this stupid.

Sighing to myself as I turn around to walk over and sit down on my couch and try to get my thoughts together. The fact that I'm going to war with a tribal Lizardmen that dared to attack both me and my people... Also to ponder the fact that I already sees the Night elves as my people.

I mean sure I used to be human man before dying and turned into a neko girl for shit and giggles by an entity, but have I already accepted these folks as my own instead of my fellow man? Granted I am disappointed in humanity and the direction it is going but the fact that I easily cast them away and accepted the night elves and potentially many other races as my own without a second thought.

Is it the Gamer power that's making me feel this way or did I really have such little faith in humanity that I wanted nothing to do with them? Especially now that I'm no longer a human but a creature of both spirit and nature?

...However, the question is does any of that matters right now?

I'm stuck within a world that's supposed to be fiction back home, I'm a creature with one hell of a body that no normal human could ever possibly have or handle, I'm the leader of a faction of nature based beings with power to change the horrible fate this world has. So really, should I even be worried that i'm slowly losing my humanity when it hasn't done any good for me to begin with?

granted I still have my morals and belief, that doesn't mean I won't try change into something better. Because once I manage to conquer this forsaken continent and learn what the hell happened in the past, I would have to deal with the Humans and Faunus outside Drangleic and chances are the relationship won't be a good one.

The humans at first will see us interesting and potential allies, until they begin to ask not only our resources and lands but our very magic as well. Knowing how my former kin works they will just try weaponize it and trust me, it ain't the grimm they're targeting but us. We're a rogue state that not only have different laws and culture but I do not answer to their rule nor respect them either. Power can corrupt and humans are sadly easily corruptible once they get a taste to it. They will turn hostile to the point humanity will believe they're far greater than we are and will try to do the same thing they did with the Faunus, take our hard earned lands and riches for their own and put us into a barren wasteland where we don't have the means to retaliate for the injustice.

I can already see it, mass amount of dead on both side with the Grimm waiting in the sideline for a perfect time to strike while we're weakened with no way defending ourself.

And then there are the Faunus.

I gotta admit the Faunus are likely the only species that we probably going to get along not because of them having animal parts, but because they're treated like shit.

I mentioned before that what Humanity will do to us they already did with the faunus, shoving them toward an island with a rather insulting name considering only a third of the island having life with forest and grasslands while the rest is just desert, unhospitable for anyone to live there. Making the island rather overpopulated on one side due to the rest being lifeless and teeming with Grimm.

Now granted a large part of me want nothing more but try aid the faunus and their situation... Which brings me the other problem if I focus on trying to help them and strengthen our bonds.

First of, humans WILL not like it and sees us of not only making allies with a race they've been bullying for years but also providing the Faunus kind with our resources and the means to fight back against the Grimm. Not only would they sees this me favoring the Faunus but with White fang going full terrorist those fucking idiots would make a lot of stupid assumptions that I'm supporting the White fang even if I say straight to their faces that I'm not, they rather belive their own shit than listening to facts.

...You know, i'm fucking glad i'm no longer human because holy fucking shit we are so retarded and too complicated as a species like how the fuck did we survive this lon-

Cough

Moving on.

Second which brings me to the White fang. If I follow the same cannon route, not only would White fang turn murderous and bloodthirsty but they WILL try make me support their cause of genocide against humanity and let me tell you; i'm fully against genocide against any intelligent species, at very least the one that can actually be reason with unlike the Lizardmen who were pretty much created to be like the goblins from the goblin slayer.

Nor do I agree with the way they conduct their operation of stowing fear into the populace since their method of earning respect and equality is just completely fucked up, especially since grimm are attracted to NEGATIVE emotion.

Something that EVERYONE in this fucking planet seems to forget or not give a shit.

Doesn't help either that Raven brownen or something is using that to her and her tribes own benefit. I grimace as I realized that I'm going to also need to deal with her as well, not gonna lie I only know snippets of information about her as I barely watched season three before personal life got in the way and like a year or two later coming back to find out the show have turned into a shitfest of shippers and bad plot with equally bad company Rooster teeth have become.

...You know, maybe I could find out more since I have my computer from my previous life here with me. But I haven't even touched it ever since I began my training as it took far more priority than dicking around the internet, plus I'm not even sure if I have the same type of internet either.

For all I know I have Remnant's version of Internet instead of home, meaning I likely won't get any information from people and wikipedia.

Great...

Knock Knock

"Lady Taesi, the meeting will soon begin in few minutes" I heard Sarlina say after knocking, I sat up just in time to see her enter my room.

"Yeah i'm coming." I merely said with no emotion to my voice.

Something Sarlina noticed very quickly as she asks "Is everything alright?" I was silent for a moment as I stood up from the Couch.

"...Say Sarlina, can I ask you something?"

"Sure, it's what I was born to do for you, I am your advisor after all."

"Right..." I sighed as I faced her "I noticed something strange about myself lately, most of all my feelings and attachement of my former kin; the humans, seems to make me either throw them away or not giving a damn about them and... Well, it kind of scares me that something is turning me into something else than who I was."

"Ah I see what it is." Sarlina commented, putting a hand on my shoulder "Don't worry about it, it' not your fault that you're feeling this way. It's because of your nature as a Youkai that makes you feel this way."

"Wait so me being a Nekomata is making me feel and think this way?" I asked with surprise.

"Indeed, after all Youkai are in another way part of the Fae species." Sarlina explained "What you're feeling is your nature taking over for a bit as it realize humanity is infact an invasive species that causes far more harm than good."

"Should I be worried then?"

"heavens no, it just means you're subconsciously realize the dangers and thinking a way on how to overcome it. It's not something to be ashamed of as every living being has this mechanism to survive, after all it's part of who we are that matters." Sarlina explains as she let go of my shoulder "Just remember to reign it in sometimes and think rationly, then you should be fine."

"I see... Thanks Sarlina, at least that puts me at ease" I said honestly, at least I know what is making me so dismissive of humanity and sees them a far greater threat than the Lizardmen.

Still... Going have to learn more what it means to be a youkai since it is VERY clearly they are far more different than humans or any other mortal creatures with intelligence. Especially if the youkai are another form of Fae creature, then I really gonna try learn more after my battle against the Lizardmen tribe is over.

"Right, let's go to the meeting room and plan our next strategy." Sarlina nodded as we both left my room and went down to the Meeting room where the other important people of my base are gathered.

Once we entered I saw immediately Mydriel, captain of my Rangers along with two scouts that I sent to follow the Lizardmen are seated near the meeting table. Then there was Ithalaine who for some reason was wearing a rather... kinky dominatrix outfit along with a whip.

Not going to even bother to ask, for my own safety and sanity.

However there was also another person sitting by the table whom I nodded in respect as they did the same. Near the table was a Troll in witch doctor gear, blue skin and white crazy dreadlocks and long tusk that could easily skewer a bitch and has a wooden staff sitting by the chair.

I did forget to mention that after the last night attack, I immediately went to order a wisp to construct the Hunter's hall for gear upgrades and new units, which I was quick to note that it was strange that I could already construct Ancient protector and summon Huntresses without the Hunter's hall but Sarlina just told me not to think much of it. To my surprise I could choose another race to summon after constructing the building, which took me by surprise by the selection of choices I could make.

Trolls I knew I could summon due to their connection with various amount of Nature Loa, Tauren wasn't a surprise considering they have a rather friendly relationship with the Night elves. But the Pandaren and Arakkoa took me completely by surprise when I found out I could choose to summon them.

I went right away to try understand why I can summon these guys and apparently these two races revere nature in their own ways. The pandaren revere and respect balance of life along with the uses of mist magic, which even to this day has no idea if it is even a real thing, along with Arakkoa revere the sun as it brings life upon its shining light.

After that short summary I just went along with it as I have more units and buildings of options than just Night elf option.

But anyway, back on hand. After the Hunter's hall was finished I took my time to choose between the Trolls or Taurens due to me unable to unlock the Pandaren and Arakkoa at the time as they need a 2nd tier command center to unlock them both. Which sadly I do not have time nor the sheer amount of fund needed to do that.

In the game it cost 320 gold and 180 lumber to upgrade the Tree of Life. But here? The motherfucking tree cost 3000 gold and 1200 lumber to upgrade!

Holy shit! Why the hell does that cost so much to build!?

Obviously I went and asked my advisor why the hell it cost so that fucking much, turns out I can get a bit more modern technology from the second tier command center a.k.a. the Tree of life, with each upgrade not only am I getting closer and closer to more futuristic shit it cost more and more, but when I finally reach the fifth tier rank with the tree of life I can travers space with spaceships!

I... have no idea how the hell a Night elf faction will manage to succeed that, I mean what kind of spaceships are we going to build? Tree ships?

I'm thinking too much here, anyway I choose the Trolls for two reasons. One, not only do they have regeneration to heal wounds much more faster than the night elves but they do have some heavy quick hitters when used right. Two, I can summon Witch doctors to not only heal my army but cast various different hexes against my enemies, not only that but while they do still have the ability to cast totems to heal allies nearby they can also act like priest do and heal a single unit.

As much I want the Taurens as my heavy hitters first, sadly after looking through what I can get from the first tier build that I have, not very much i'm afraid.

So I went with the trolls, along using one of the two C rank summoning crystal that I got after repelling the invaders from my base as a reward. Yeah turns out I got a quest notification last night but I was so worried and focused to save my people that I didn't even see the notification as I killed lizardmen left and right.

So I used the Summoning crystal to summon a higher ranked Witch doctor to leads the trolls and out came Bo'svania, weird frickin name but this guy is a hell of a lot more better than his normal counterparts as he can heal three people at the same time, cast totem of healing that heals much better and last much longer along with some powerful hexes that causes either damage or degrade the enemies defenses.

Now that I have two high ranking NPC that will help me out in the battle, it eases my mind that I can trust these two to make sure it will be easier to control the battlefield.

"Alright, let's get this started." I said outloud as I sat at the end of the table, with Sarlina sitting beside me... And pressing my oversized boobs against the table as I scoot closer with the chair and promptly ignored that little accident as I gave my npc a blank look.

Glancing around the meeting room quickly, it was large and simple. large enough to hold over twenty people with a long table that has a large orb on the middle where we can review the landscape and plan our stategy.

With everyone has eyes on me, I clear my throat and began the important meeting.

On how to win this war against the Lizardmen.

"Alright, last night the Lizardmen attacked us unprovoked and nearly got some of our warriors killed. Which luckily they failed to do so, Mydriel how goes the operation on claiming the cavern at the end of the tunnels those Lizardmen used to attacked us?" I asked, looking at Mydrien who nodded.

"It went pretty smoothely my lady" She answered as she held her hand toward the orb as it glew and begins to show us an image "The Lizards that were setting up shop in there were unprepared for us, they barely stood a chance as we struck them down and claimed the cavern for ourself." True to her words, I could see in the orb that my Night elf rangers have set up a good forward base with barricades, better bridge to cross over the water along with digging through the walls to make more room for supplies and equipment for the counterattack.

I could see both the Night elves and the Trolls working hard guarding the entrance and fixing the now giant cave.

"Not only that but we also discovered the water in the cave is drinkable and could be used for our troops whenever they get thirsty. Also I had the Huntresses send out their Owl sentinels around the forest to make sure we're prepared for any ambushes or attack from the creatures."

"Great, good job Mydriel" I said with a smile "I knew I could count on you"

"That's some good news, but what about the fleeing Lizardmen? did you two manage to track down where their lair is?" Sarlina asked.

The two scouts nodded, one is a man and the other a women with the male Night elf replies grimly "We did, we manage to track down where these creatures came from and, well... It's better you all see this for yourself." With that he nodded to his partner and she held her hand toward the orb that now shows another image.

When we saw the lair of the Lizardmen, we all eyed widen at what we saw.

"By de ha'ry balls of bwonsamdi!" Bo'svania exclaims, pretty much sums up what we're all thinking as we look upon the image where the damn bastards home base is and holy shit this is bad!

Remember in the Dark souls 2 game after you travers the first entrance of the Forest of the fallen giants and enter the ruins of the fortress with undead footsoldiers and royal knights in order to get to the last giant and pursuer? Well guess where those fuckers are located! And holy shit the fortress from the game looks WAY bigger and way more fortified! Not only are there bigger walls and more towers that blocks our way inside but the Lizardmen have set up series of huts and bridges connecting to the upper levels where they could rain down arrows and spears at anyone stupid enough to get close.

We all just stared at the image and after a moment of silence I finally open my mouth to say "Well fuck." at our current predicament.

"As you can see m'lady, from our memories you can see that those monsters have set up a rather impressive fortification to repel any invaders. We tried to get closer to see more what we're dealing with but we were almost spotted by the guards due to some strange blood smeared runes plastered on the walls of the fort glowed whenever we got close." The female scout explained.

"A warning wards of some kind?" I asked.

"Probably mon" Bo'svania said as he inspected the image of the runes, it looks like the Lizardmen just smeared blood on the walls of the ancient stonework of the fort with different symbols. He then points to some of the runes that looked different from each other as he explains "take a look at dis mon, des rune are made differently for different purpose."

"Different how exactly?" Mydriel asked

"Well, some of dem are obviously a detect alarm of kind but de others? don't know but me bet they likely be curses to wear down intruders perhaps."

I grimace when hearing that and so did the others.

Great! Not only is stealth out of the window but these fuckers have advance magical rune work that could potentially be bad for us if we step closer to the old ruins. When you think these guys couldn't get any smarter they do this.

It's obvious we're dealing with not a dimwitted Shaman or chieftain of some kind, someone who knows how to tactic and use the enviroment in their favor. Thinking back at the attack last night, the Fortress is big, very big. If so then that means there are likely hundreds of Lizardmen and hollows inside so why the hell did these bastards send a small army to attack us?

unless...Shit!

"Fucking hell!" I cursed loudly as I realized the horrible implication of the situation.

"What's the matter Lady Taesi?" Sarlina exclaims, not expecting me to shout.

"The attack last night, those fuckers were testing our defenses!" Everyone eyed widen at that, with Sarlina looks extremely worried as she looks at me with a serious expression on her face "Are you sure of that?"

"Yes." I expressed firmly as I stand up and began pointing at the fort in the image "See the size of the ancient ruins? along with the surprising advance rune magic and position of the watch towers the Lizardmen built, we're not dealing with an idiot leader here. Think for a second! the attack last night I noticed whoever is in charge sent a small force to attack us, for all we know they could have hundreds, hell maybe even thousands behind those walls and their leader is testing our defenses and weaknesses!"

After I explained the grim realization, Mydriel, Sarlina, Bo'svania and the two scouts were silent as they took this information to heart and realize we're in much bigger shit than we realize.

"Elune guide us... Even with our better training and gear, those monsters will overwhelm us with sheer numbers alone." Sarlina mutters in horror.

Things looks pretty grim, until "Aaaaaauuuh, Don't worry my weary friends~! all is not lost yet~ Ooooooh~!"... Wow I completely forgot Ithalaine was there as well until he opened his damn mouth. With a sigh I just glance at his direction "Really? What might that be?"

"Well~" He smacks his lips "While you all were busy with work, Weary ranger captain here brough me some prisoners to interrogate for some Juicy details~!"

"Wait what?" I asked as I glance over to Mydriel "What prisoners? this is first I hear of!"

"Ah right, apologize my lady, with everything going and preparing for our counterattack against those abominations it sorta slipped my mind..." Mydriel apologized as she looked ashamed for forgeting that.

"It's alright, but what kind of prisoners did you manage to capture? is it those Lizardmen?"

"Yes, during our assault at the cavern where they were trying to set up their own forward base we manage to capture few of the still living one for information." She then sighs "However. Getting any information from them was impossible as they were far too violent, trying to shake off their bindings and ranting about using us women as nothing more than breeding stock for their tribe to play with. So with no other choice I allowed Ithalaine here to... Interrogate them." Oh... Wow, it explains a lot about his... Outfit.

I almost feel sorry for them.

Almost.

"Very well then, what did you learn from those things ithalaine?" I asked the sexually driven Zarbon 2.0.

"Well at first I began to lube my body along with theirs, then started to caress and lovingly bonded from behi-"

"PLEASE SKIP THE TORTURE PARTS!" Me and everyone else exclaimed.

"-I manage to wrestle out some very interesting information about the forest landscape~ A kilometer away from the entrance, to east lies a small mountain with an opening with wooden structure built around it, one that I believe to be a description of a Gold mine! Of course to see if the information was true I sent a spirit Owl to see what the Tight buttocks said was true, sure enough I could see that it was a gold mine!"

"A gold mine!? you sure?" We pretty much exclaimed in surprise and glimmer of hope, as this could change the outcome of our situation.

Even though I still have some enough funds to summon more units, they simply won't be enough to hold the tide if it really is true that there are hundreds of Lizardmen along with hollows in the ruins. But with a gold mine we have a source of income that we can use to not only summon more units but upgrade our basic gears as well!

"But ooooh~ It gets better, my weary queen~!" Please stop calling me that! "I had my spirit Owl scout ahead some more and not too far from the gold mine is a town, abandoned long ago from the looks of it~ Not only can we use the town to deconstruct for more funds but we could have three different forward bases that we could use to hammer the enemy hard and make them split their forces like a bukkake~"

"Ok first of all, fucking gross!" I said "Second, not a bad idea Ithalaine...Wow that didn't sound right."

"Aside from Ithalaine's... Informative description of these two locations, if we focus on capturing the gold mine and the town, we would have three separate base and different angles to attack the fortress with." Mydriel said, coming up with ideas how to turn this into our favour.

"Ya but what de about de runes? What do dey do?" Bo'svania asked, looking at Ithalaine.

"Oh right, the prisoners did mention that they're mostly used to detect intruders but also to weakening them as well, making their weapons and armour brittle and sapping their energy. That kind of stuff~" the elf said.

"So even if we have three different bases, they would still find some way to beat us if we can't even get inside and stop them?" I asked with a frown.

"Seems so lady Taesi..." one of the scouts mutters.

I frowned as I tried to come up with something to bypass those runes, I don't know if those bastards only used the runes outside or smeared it all over the place. "Ithalaine, did any of the prisoners mention how these runes were created?" I asked, thinking that maybe if we find out how they were created we could disable them.

"Oh yes~!" Zarbon 2.0 responded "They mentioned there are several high ranking shamans within the towers that keeps the runes powered on, seems like they haven't fully grasped the rune magic as they need a constant source of magic so they're using the shamans to supplies them daily doses of juicy mana~"

"Wait so if we kill the shamans, the runes will shut off?" I asked, getting a nod from the elf as I began to come up with ideas how to execute this.

"It might be possible, but i'm unsure if this information is correct, after all the fellow that spilled the beans wasn't feeling quite well after our special time together~" Gee I wonder why you damn friggi-

"Ok so we have some ideas how to turn those things down, got it." I growled "But how do we get inside and take those Shamans out? I doubt they're going to just let us wander inside and take them out."

And then it developes into everyone trying to come up with ideas, either outright saying it's bad or wouldn't work. Wow, haven't been on a meeting like this in years not since highschool when debating what sort of class trip everyone wanted... Except this time it's about attacking a group of sexually frustrated lizard people that want to bone anything that has two legs.

I sighed as I sat back and watch this chaos happen as everyone trying to pitch in what to do with the shamans and how to get to them.

Come to think of it... Aren't I an Assassin? Can't I like sneak inside and cut their throat open? Alright system, show my status as I need to see something!

...Wait what?

I leveled up? Twice? When the hell did that happen!?

As if answering my question another screen pops up that shows the last night mission I completed.

[Quest: On guard! (COMPLETED)]

Defend against the invading Lizardmen and drive them off from your base!

30/30 Enemy slained

Reward: 2000 gold, 400 lumber, 3200 EXP, 2 C rank summoning crystals.

Oh... That's why.

Hey system, do I have any sneak skill available or do I seriously need to learn how to stealth? And of course no sooner I mentally thought of that another screens shows up that displays my spells, passive abilities and yeah it does show I do have sneak ability.

Sneak- 1 lvl (13% / 100% to level up) -Sneak allows you to be stealthy and go unnoticed by anyone. Stealth bonus 10% (People and monsters can still notice you miles away)

Yikes! my stealth skill is practically bad, really bad!

Hey are there any stats that makes certain skills be better?

[Certain skills do increase their effective uses with certain stats being raised. Spells damage increases by raising Intelligence while mana consumption decreases by raising Willpower. Sneak skill increases by raising Dexterity and luck increases your chances for finding loot or enemies miss or don't notice you.]

[Also whenever you level up a skill, more beneficial perks can be used to your advantage so keep that in mind.]

Sweet! thanks i'm definitely going to abuse this!

I went right away to add all of my stats to my Dexterity stat and watch the procentage rises up to a lot more accaptable level. Once done accepting what I put my stats in I took one good look at my stats.

YES! I'm stealthy enough to actually sneak past the Detection runes as long i'm not too close to them!

...Shit I'm stealthy enough to sneak past them.

I frowned as I realized I don't have any sneaky units to bring with me on this mission. Sure the Night elves have cloaking ability but that works only in the night and it breaks whenever they move, so that means only one thing.

I have to do this all by myself.

I frowned deeply at this. From what I saw of the fortress it would be impossible to attack head on with what we have, even with Glaive throwers that are currently on their way. The only way inside is to disable the runes by slaying the shamans powering them and allow my forces to launch a fullscale attack on the front door.

But to do that, I have to sneak inside and locate where each of the shamans maintaining the runes are and kill them, meaning I have to do this all by myself with no support with a very high chance of me being either killed or turned into a fuck toy to hundreds of lizardfucks inside the fortress.

Great.

I'm not afraid of dying again since I can come back by the Altar of elders, but what I AM afraid of is potentially a thousands of those scaly assholes raping me with no end and likelihood scarred for eternity considering my Youkai heritage.

Once again I curse whoever it is that turned me into a friggin neko girl!

I sighed deeply. Even if I really want to find another way to avoid going inside all by myself, there is no other option unless I want massive casualties from my side.

Wether I like it or not, someday in the future I will lose people and I need... No, I MUST be ready to face the harsh truth that I can't save everybody no matter how hard I try. This is the real life and everything isn't fair, so I must be ready to shoulder the burdens of the casualties of my soldiers and make sure their death wasn't in vain.

I refuse to let those scaly monsters have the slightest victory against me.

"Everyone calm down, I have a plan." Everybody quiet down as they all looked at me, with a sigh I explained "To get inside and take out those shamans, we need someone skilled enough to sneak inside the fort and kill those bastards and power down the runes... And the only person who can do this, Is me."

No sooner I said that everybody eyed widen in shock and horror at my plan.

"No Taesi!" Sarlina exclaimed, standing up "You can't do this all alone, especially against hundreds of those monsters festering inside that ruins! Think what will happen if youre caught alive by those monsters!?"

"Believe me, I don't want any of this either but tell me Sarlina. Do we even have ANY stealthy units at the moment that can help me with this?" She said nothing as I sighed "Guess I was right, beside." I look up and gave everybody a stern look.

"I need to learn how to do this by myself, I can't continue have you people hold me by my hand. Otherwise I would never learn how to properly fight and rule our new home. I won't be the strong leader that you wish me to be because I keep getting help with everything, there are going to be times that i NEED to learn and gain real experience on how everything works and how to solve them by myself."

"Besides." I sighed "I'm an Assassin and I just allocated my stats to Dexterity and right now my Sneak skill is at 25%, enough to the point I can sneak past the Detection runes as long I don't get too close to them."

Everyone were silent as they looked at me with dumbfounded expression, none of them were speaking up but to my surprise, Ithalaine smiled and chuckles.

"impressive speech, my weary queen~" He sing song "I'm glad you're taking your role as a leader seriously and wishing to learn properly how to handle this by yourself. You'll have my support~!"

Sarlina sighed deeply as she sat down, rubbing her forehead.

"As much I want to say otherwise, you're right m'lady" She said "You're no longer a child, and there are times that you need to learn how to handle certain situation like this by yourself... I just wished it wasn't this early, though."

"I know and i'm sorry that it has to be this way, but we gotta adapt and grow from this if we want to get somewhere." I said sincerely, I truly understand where she's going with this but there are no other options.

"So then, what do we do from here then? What do we do with the Gold mine and the abandoned town? from the looks of it they seems to be left completely alone and I don't like that." Mydriel stated.

"You're right, unless the Lizardmen planted traps all over the two location I can only think of one thing... Something else have made those places their home and those scaly assholes are staying far away as possible out of fear." I said with seriousness.

"Shall we scout ahead of these location, lady taesi?" one of the scout asked.

"Do it." I nodded "The more information we have, the better we can plan ahead how to lower the possible casualties from our side if it does turn out something dangerous is there. Not gonna lie I was planning to just go straight ahead and send our forces to capture those two locations but now? I rather be on the safe side than do anything reckless."

"Good choice mon" the witch doctor nodded sagely "Better be on da safe side than losing folks to beasties."

"We will continue the meeting on later date once we have more information." I said as I stand up "Right now, lets focusing on preparing our forces for the upcoming battle and making sure we're not getting attacked from the hostile tribe. Everybody agrees?"

"yes!"

"Sure mon!"

"Order recieved!"

"Aaaaauuuh, Ishnu-alah~!"

"Shut up ithalaine!"

"Then dismissed." With that everyone stood up and left to do their tasks, leaving me alone in the Meeting room.

I sighed as I scratch the back of my head and mutters "Great... How do I sneak inside a well guarded fortress by myself?"

"Are you sure about this James?"

"Very positive Ozpin, there is definitely something out here, out in the middle of nowhere."

Professor Ozpin of Beacon academy leaned back of his office chair as he pondered over this information his long time friend told him.

It wasn't long the scout forces from Atlas found something out in the middle of the ocean on the other side of Remnant. From what James Ironwood tells him, one of his scout ships was suddenly pushed away by an invisible force, rather violently as well when the ship nearly lost altitude but manage to correct itself before it could fall into the ocean.

Ever since that incident the Altas scout force have attempted to send drones and flyers into the forcefield in an attempt to get inside but all of them were met with failures.

"I see..." Ozpin mutters, fixiating his gaze over to the screen of one of his friends and member to the brotherhood "What will Atlas do now with this development?"

"Honestly? The council will try attempt to find a way inside whatever it is that seems to be hiding, because my forces have spotted several grimm flyers trying to get inside but were pushed back by that forcefield." Ironewood explained then sighs "And knowing a certain business man, he will likely try to find a way past the field by hiring our military or mercenaries. Likely in an attempt to increase his profit by claiming whatever it is."

Ozpin just hums as he nods slowly, Jacques Schnee is rather know for his questional decision when it comes to business and safety of the Faunus workers. He no doubt know that man will likely try send people over to find the way inside the hidden continent to claim its riches.

"Be honest with me Ozpin" Snapping out of his thoughts he look over to the screen with Ironwood looking serious "Do you have any idea what is inside this vast forcefield?"

"...I do have one theory, but without any evidence to back it up all I have is a hunch of what that place could be." Ozpin sighs "James... Do you know the legends of Drangleic?"

"Drangleic? hmm... I think I have, I remembered my mother telling me bed time stories when I was very little. Something about a magical land with magic and fantastical creature straight out of fairy tales... Wait, don't tell me...!"

"I believe so my old friend. There is a very high chance that we may have finally found Drangleic after all these years." Ozpin said, looking rather tired.

Strange, one would be overjoyed that they may have found the means to finally beat her. But Ozpin knows better, the kingdom of Drangleic never liked the two brother gods nor any of the humans living outside the kingdom for some reason. He never found out why as when he returned to the world of the living, the entire continent was gone. Along with all of their secrets and spells to finally succeed his mission.

Chances are if they're still around, it might turn hostile or outright banning anyone from coming into the hidden continent.

Making his mission to kill Salem more impossible... Then again he already given up a long time ago, all he's doing now is simply stalling for the inevitable end.

"Ozpin if this is true, then we HAVE to find a way inside before she does!" Ironwood exclaims.

"Don't be too hasty James, I did say it was a theory because I'm not sure of myself if it truly is Drangleic. but you are right that we need to find a way inside so try convince the council to fund this expedition and the best scientist to help with cracking a hole. We need to know what is beyond the forcefield before Salem does." Ozpin said with seriousness.

"Understood, i'll try convince them but that won't likely be too hard."

"Good and james, please be careful. If it truly is Drangleic, I fear either the inhabitants won't be too happy of an unknown foreign power comes to their lands or the ancient creatures of legend will attack your men on sight. So be careful and be mindful when meeting the people there."

"I understand Ozpin, I'll do what I can. ironwood out." With that Ironwood canceled the call, leaving Ozpin all alone in his office as he lean back in his chair and sigh deeply.

As much he want to be hopeful that it might actually be Drangleic in hiding, he also fear the change it will bring to the world if the horrible monsters still walks the land. He shudders as the memories of the abominations created by the infamous Iron King once roamed Remnant and caused so much chaos. Hell his and Salem's own magical powers barely did any damage to those creatures, the only one who could actually deal significant amount of damage was the soldiers and mages of Drangleic.

He's not sure how or why they can deal with those monsters where they can't, what makes their magic so different from each other? For years ozpin thought he will never get his answers till now.

Maybe once James and his forces finds a way inside they have finally the means to end Salem and bring prosperity and peace to the Human and faunus kind alike.

And yet... Why does he sense a foreboding feeling when they manage to crack through the forcefield?

"All is set?"

"Yes my lady, everything is in order."

"Good." I nodded at one of my Rangers "Keep everyone ready once we finalized our strategy when the scouts return."

"It will be done, m'lady!"

I watched as the women left to do their job, leaving me alone out in Majula as I'm checking around to make sure everything is on place. Glancing to my side I can see the new buildings that I had constructed; the Hunter's hall and the Troll hut where I can recruit Troll Axe throwers and Witch doctors.

Looking elsewhere I can see four Glaive throwers standing in a row near the entrance to Majula. Sadly once we finally begin the attack I have to split my forces in two in order to make space for the journey through the tunnel and those Glaive throwers don't exactly fit inside the narrow tunnels. So I have no other choice but to have Mydriel lead the other half of my forces and meet us at the Forest of the Fallen giants.

Not exactly what I had in mind when planning for our counterattack but we'll make do with what we have.

"Is everything alright, Lady Taesi?" Glancing to my side as I look at my newest C ranked soldier to my growing kingdom.

A tall purple skinned Night elf male with long white hair, wears a dark set of leather armour and daggers, amber colored glowing eyes and rather handsome looking too.

...wait, why did I think of him handsome unless...Shit. My Youkai nature as a women is influencing me again, isn't it?

"It's nothing Tervalian" I said, trying not to think about it "Just kinda irritated that I have to split my forces once we begin the attack."

"True, but we do what we can and simply improvise." He said, with his hands behind his back as he stood next to me, acting like my bodyguard.

Tervalian Embershade, a Night elf rogue that I used my last C rank summoning crystal at the request of Sarlina whom was still not fully convinced I should do this assassination mission alone... At least until i'm actually at a decent level range.

So wanting to ease her worries and pay back all the help she given me so far, I accepted her request and summoned this guy to help me sneak past the Runes of detections, find the shamans and kill them. But we can worry about that later once we captured the gold mine and the abandoned town.

"Lady Taesi" Speak of the devil "The scouts have returned and I ordered the others to come back to the meeting room, we'll be waiting for you there."

"Alright, me and Tervalian will be there." I said out loud, glancing to my companion whom nodded and we both walked back to the Tree of life.

Once we were back in the meeting room, I sat down at my previous spot with Sarlina and Tervalian sitting besides me. I see the two scouts are back and ithalaine is currently back in his normal clothes, which i'm thankful for!

"alright, let's the meeting commence again. What did you two find at the town and the Gold mine?" I ordered.

"Well for one, the town is overrun with hollows." The male scout said with his partner pitch in "it's true, we tried to find a way inside the various cracks and hole around the walls of the town but everywhere we look there are hollows guarding the entrances... To make matters worse we could tell these Hollows are Tethered to something as these looks stronger than the regular hollows."

"Are they part of the Lizardmen tribe?" I asked.

"No in fact I seen both our enemy and the hollows battle each other near the outskirt of the town. I do believe we're dealing with a third party here." Great, a third party. Just what I need.

"What of the Gold mine? anything from there?" Mydriel asked.

"So far, nothing seems to be guarding the entrance nor did we find any lizardmen or hollows nearby. However, when we tried to go inside the mine we could feel the entire tunnel was warm... Unnaturally so as the heat was far too warm to be natural, we didn't get any closer in the mine out of fear that something may live inside." Warm?

I frowned as I tried to think of what might be causing that... Until I remembered a rather unique enemy you could fight in Dark souls 2 once you're a higher level and have the cat ring to survive the fall.

"Fire salamanders" gaining everyone attention I continue "I think we have an infestation of giant fire breathing salamanders living inside the gold mine. It would make sense if the Lizardmen had made the ancient fortress their main base, they would likely had driven those giant fire breathing lizard out from the pit they called home."

"...Shit" Bo'svania cursed, sums up what we all thought.

Great! so a town filled with tethered hollows with an unknown monster or being and now the gold mine is infested with giant fire breathing lizards! As if our situation isn't dire as it is!

"No matter" I said out loud "We're still going to capture those two points if we want to survive the war against the Lizardmen tribe, otherwise we're all dead if we fail."

I'm not going to lose to some tribal fucked up creatures, created by an asshole of a king. We will survive and we WILL win this war they started. If it means I have to scour the entire fucking forest and ruins to make sure every last Lizardmen are dead then so be it.

The Conclave WILL survive and endure, no matter what!

WARNING!

Choosing one of the two quest will make the other rise in rank and danger, but the reward will be greater. So choose at your own peril.

Huh... i wasn't expecting that.

"oh dear" I hear Sarlina mutter "It would seems you gained a ranked mission, my lady."

"It would seems so..." I mutter as I looked at the screen with the two quest, with the system wanting me to accept one of them "Any ideas which one we take and poison the other?"

"I suggest the Gold mine" Tervalian suggested "We need income to fund your army against the threat."

"Tervalian is right, the gold mine is a priority that we need." Mydriel pitched in. With Bo'svania nodding "Aye, mon~ The more gold we have the better chances we got against de lizard folks."

"Alrighty then~" I picked the Gold rush quest, getting a ping that it is now my current objective "So with nothing else to say, let's go and kill some giant fire breathing lizard!"

Neat~

But hey what's up with the last reward and the quest objective? why are they questioned marked?

...Probably finding out later.

"Alright everyone, you all have half an hour to prepare until we begin our campaign against the Lizardmen tribe. So suggest do any last minutes check up before we begin, we will come up with how we proceed this once we're at the cavern entrance." Everyone nodded, understanding my orders so with a nod I say "Dismissed."

With that everyone stood up and left to do whatever they were doing, with my glancing over to Sarlina "You'll be ok on your own here, Sarlina?" I asked.

"I'll be fine my lady, i'll do what I can to make sure our home is safely secured. If need to be I can order the Ancient of war and the Troll hut to summon reinforcement should you wish for it."

"That's all I need to know, thanks. I'll be waiting at the steps for everyone to gather." Sarlina nodded as I stood up and left the meeting room.

So far the Plan is to split our forces in half due to the small narrow pathway the underground tunnels have, along with surprise attack should the Lizard attack the cavern entrance. Once we all gathered we'll be leaving behind a fourth of our forces to reinforce the Cavern entrance to make sure those lizard bastards doesn't attack while we're away, while we are going inside the gold mine and attack the Flame lizard and hope for the best.

This is going to be biggest moment of my second life, it will be here that it will shape me into something else as the death of the lizardmen and my side will be staggering, and the burden of leadership tested.

Once half an hour passed, I stood by the steps of the Tree of life along with Sarlina standing by my side as all of my forces gathered outside in orderly rows. I looked over the men and women under my command as I counted how many different units I currently have.

230 Archers, 60 huntresses, 120 Axe throwers, 40 Witch doctors and 4 Glaive throwers along with 10 wisp needed to construct our new bases and mining the gold from the mine.

In front of my soldiers are Mydriel, Bo'svania and Tervalian.

The former will be leading the half along with all of the Glaive throwers while the latters will be following me through the Rampart and meet with the rest of the forces at my forward base.

Taking a quick look at how much gold and lumber I have, I almost cringed at how low it is now and barely have enough to construct a Tree of life. Quickly shaking my head I focused on the people in front of me.

With everyone paying attention and waiting for my command, I breathed deeply.

"Everyone!" I shouted "Last night, we were all attacked unprovoked by the Lizardmen, thinking that we all were easy prey but instead they paid dearly with their lives! I'm not going to lie, many of us aren't going to come out of this alive... But we sure as hell going to take those bastards that dared to attack us with us to the death! We shall take hundreds of our enemies for every Night elf, every Troll and every Ancient they kill!"

I can see everyone being invigorated by my speech. There is no lie nor an excuse to seek glory, only vengeance and the need to protect our people.

"The enemy is well defended and fortified, but they don't have one thing that we have! A cause! Our cause to defend our new home! Our people! Our very future in this wild untamed lands!" At this point everyone is now giving a cheer and battle cry.

Even the civilians watching from the side is cheering.

"So I ask all of you, what do we say to this injustice!?" I shouted.

And my soldiers responded in kind.

"DEATH TO THE INVADERS!"

"JUSTICE FOR OUR PEOPLE!"

"FOR THE FUTURE OF THE CONCLAVE!" they all roared. Raising their weapons and fist in the air, cheering and boasting, they are all pumped to take the fight against the Lizardmen and the hollows under their command by whoever their leader is.

So with a smile I raised my dagger that I summoned and exclaimed.

"FOR THE CONCLAVE! TO VICTORY AND DEATH!" And swung my weapon down and ordered the order to start the war "ONWARD!"

With that me, Tervalian and Bo'svania along with half of our forces marched through the tunnels while Mydriel led the other half through the forest to meet with us at the entrance of our forward base.

The war for the Forest of the fallen giants, have started.

Holy crap, I honestly wanted to post this chapter like a week or two ago but due to getting infected with Covid and could barely even work on any of my stories or drawings I had to put this on hold until I got better.

Either way, hi everyone!

Sorry for the long awaiting chapter that honestly didn't turn out the way it did as I planned.

I kind of planned to have the meeting and strategize to be somewhat shorter and jump immediately to attack the Lizardmen and the Hollows... Instead it became this way due to realizing that I kept on writing an writing on and on, then realize that this chapter is WAY too long with over 9000 words. So instead I decided to make this chapter merely preparing for war instead.

But anyway I have something to ask as yesterday I had this weird idea during work and after talking with a friend of mine, he agrees that it sounded neat but we were both unsure how you folks will like it or not.

I've been thinking of introducing other characters with the power of Gamer at their command with their own army as well.

Yes, you heard me right, other character with their own Faction from Warcraft 3 allying up with Taesi to take on the world of Drangleic and Remnant! But that's not all, the other three characters are infact other OC that YOU folk would post! That's right, i'm thinking of taking in other three OC from various other people that want to be part of the story!

Granted it's just a silly idea and unsure if you people will like the idea and direction the story would take, so I posted a poll to see if you folks want me to go with it or not.

I'll be keeping the poll open till friday morning this week and i'll see if you people want it or not!

But if everyone voted yes, then I'll upload a note and update my profile for the character sheet that you can use to PM me so that me and my friend can go over with them and decide which character would fit in the story!

Anyway, last bits of news I wanna share is that I'm planning to make Taesi Luvidas as a real proper character. That's right, over the weeks ever since I created her in this story I actually got very attached to her and her design to the point I want to make something else with her. Instead of just leaving her here as a one time thing of a story with a human man reincarnated as a nekomata girl, I wanna expand her character more into something else than a fanfic world with shows, anime and games as a base core of the world.

I'm gonna admit, I'm not sure where or how i'm going with her but hopefully it will be great!

Before I wrap this up I wanna thank you all again for wishing me well for my recovery and I want you all to stay safe, wash your hands and keep a safe distance from each other and we should be able to beat the virus!

This is Ultrazeta120, logging off~
