Chapter 3: The Wrath of Eris Part 2

Nathanael didn't really know what happened or how he got there. All he knew was that one of his classmates, Juleka, had become akumatized into a supervillain, and was now calling herself by the name Eris.

She was about to blast them with a powerful jolt of electricity when all of a sudden he was engulfed by a blue light. Once the blue light had disappeared Nathanael was then surprised to find that he along with the rest of his class were now standing safely at the park.

What just happened? Did Juleka meant to do this? Did she purposefully transported all of them at a safe distance so that they could avoid her wrath? All those thoughts ran into the young artist's head before his attention was over taken when his eyes landed on the school.

A swirling ominous dark storm cloud was above it, continuously roaring thunder while creating lightning. It looked as if it would have been part of one of those old classic horror cartoons except that it looked way, WAY, more horrifying.

Not only that, the sky didn't seem to be doing fine either. Dark and cloudy, the scenery of which can only be at least compared with that of when Stormy Weather attacked.

All of Paris was now under the divine judgement of Eris.

Only the "unnormal" would return things back to normal., He heard a girl spoke from behind him. He was about to question her on that when-

Where is Marinette?!, Alya asked-shouted, worrying for the safety of her best friend who she cannot seem to find.

She looked at the school as her concerns only grew. An awful feeling was now forming inside of her.

Alya was about to run towards the building to find her but she was stopped by Nino who came in to pull her arm as to prevent her from doing something reckless.

Nino., Alya said out of surprise.

I can't find Adrien either., the boy stated.

Alya took another glance towards the school with eyes full of worry.

You know it's a bad idea., Nino warned.

But we got to go back and save them. Who knows what has happened to them? Plus. It's only an akuma. We should be used to these kinds of things by now. When have we ever gotten scared during these kinds of situations?

You mean when have "you" ever gotten scared during these kinds of situations., although he hadn't meant it, his reply showed a bit of anger in them.

What does that mean?, Alya questioned, anger clear in her voice as well.

Just as the two were about to start an argument, they, along with the rest, suddenly heard a terrified scream.

Ahhhh!

They turned their heads towards the direction of the scream and saw Marinette's parents, the Dupain Chengs, embrassing each other out of fear as the akumatized villain, Eris, had floated above them.

Taunting them.

Eris pointed her finger at them as she was about to make her blast. The couple, with no other way of escaping had closed their eyes.

Just as Eris was about to make her shot, she suddenly felt a jolt of pain to her face as she fell down to the ground.

When she turned to see of what had caused it, she then saw Ladybug, standing protectively in front of the Dupain Chengs.

Get out of here now!, she commanded.

Thank you Ladybug.

The couple nodded and did as they were told.

Not long after as they left a black figure soon followed standing by Ladybug's side.

Nice shot m'lady. I would have done that myself but well, you know…

Meanwhile Eris held her cheek in agony. Still surprised and confused by Ladybug's sudden appearance. But her confusion later turned into anger after receiving a telepathic message.

Ladybug. Chatnoir. Give me your Miraculouses or I'll turn Paris into a hellish nether realm!

As if you weren't going to do that anyway., Ladybug taunted, preparing herself for a fight.

Eris then rode the wind once again, ready to take down the heroes.

The three of them then clashed, two heroes versus one villain. The power of two Miraculouses over one akuma. Chat jumped and tried to hit her with his baton but one death glare from Eris and instantly he was knocked back into a nearby tree by the wind. Ladybug then launched her yoyo and managed to have successfully captured her by tying her up. But purple sparks begun to surge into Eris's body, she vanished before reappearing in a form of teleportation.

It wasn't long after their battle had started that Eris begun to grin widely and maniacally. Her hair begun to wave more violently than earlier, and her eyes changed and glowed from that of copper to that of violet.

Cars started to float. Nearby buildings begun to be torn apart brick-by-brick as their pieces flew up into the sky.

The surroundings themselves begun to stir into an uncontrollable scene.

The winds blew harder, the road started to crack, and the storm above had only grew louder.

It was clear now, at least in Ladybug's point of view, that this wasn't the kind of akuma that they were used with. And the thought by itself had scared her.

Chat turned and saw this. He saw the look that which he hated most. He hated seeing her like this. He hated seeing her at this state. But most of all he hated seeing her weak.

Whether it was through doubt, fear, or regret, Chatnoir had never liked seeing the girl he loves being vulnerable. Not because he didn't allow her to, but because he knew that she hated to be seen as vulnerable herself.

So with a determined look, Chat ran into a nearby wall, using it as a means for him to make a jump. He then launched himself towards Eris, readying his weapon. But with a flick of her finger and Chat had been blown away until he was no longer in sight.

Chat!, Ladybug cried out after witnessing of what had happened to her partner.

Ladybug then looked into Eris's direction, staring down at her. But Eris had only looked to be unfazed, instead smiling at her smugly.

With no other choice and option, the spotted heroin had decided to use her secret power.

She threw her yoyo into the air while shouting the words, Lucky Charm!

Instantly a number of enchanted ladybugs had appeared and together they conjured an item that the universe thought she might need to win.

It was flat and rectangular. And it was wrapped in a red and spotted wrapper.

Ladybug opened it and was surprise as to what she had found inside.

A magazine?

But it wasn't simply an ordinary magazine. It was the latest edition of Tacky Daily, a fashion company known for their odd and "tacky" sense of fashion designing.

The heroin opened the magazine, trying to see if she could find something that would be of usefulness. But alas she found nothing.

Eris snickered at the item Ladybug had made, seeing it as if it was some kind of mistake in her part.

Just try and stop me with that little lady!

She then peered into the magazine's cover.

However…

She then started to point her finger at her.

If it is an exotic look that you desire…

Purple sparks begun to surge from her fingertip.

Ladybug saw this and knew of what was going to happen next. She turned to face her classmates who were watching and made a look of apology and regret.

She swung her yoyo somewhere and retreated.

Leaving them to face the villain alone.

Eris stared at them. And they all looked at her in fear, silently pleading for her mercy.

Not so fast evil villain!

Suddenly, out of all the chaos, Mr. Damocles had appeared wearing his costume.

You may have beaten my friends Ladybug and Chatnoir. But now you will have to face me! The Dark Owl! *hoot**hoot*

The old man made his signature pose.

And I can assure you that I won't be as easy to defeat.

Let's see about that!, she mused.

Eris pointed her finger at the principal, ready to take her shot. A blast of lightning managed to have hit directly at Mr. Damocl- Dark Owl.

The crowd gasped, but later made a look of confusion.

They expected for him to turn into a monster just like what happened to Chloe. But instead they saw him safe and unharmed.

When the Dark Owl opened his eyes, he gaped after finding himself still as his usual self.

He looked into Eris for answers but was surprise to see her with the same baffled expression.

He smiled.

Ha! I warned you that I won't be so easy to defeat didn't I!

He then turned towards the students.

I suggest you all run. This could get dangerous.

They nodded their heads, still bewildered before complying.

Now. Where were we?

The Dark Owl then begun to dance in a silly manner while going from one spot to another. Mocking the self proclaimed goddess while she continued blasting at him.

How could this be?, Eris thought. How is this possible?

Eris was now irritated. How can he be immune to my judgement?!

Just as Eris was distracted with her thoughts. The Dark Owl had decided to finally make his move. He just hoped that hitting an akumatized student doesn't qualify as an offence in the school board.

He took out his pinball gun, but accidentally grabbed out his marble gun instead. He then made his shot and accidentally hit Eris at the forehead.

Ouch!, Eris yelled.

Oops.

When Eris stared angrily at him, the Dark Owl knew that he was in instant trouble.

Sorry. I was meant to blind you with a pinball gun., he explained.

Eris looked threateningly at him. Her eyes glowing even brighter as she snapped her fingers. After that the ground shook and the Dark Owl fell into a large crack.

Once he was no longer in the way Eris suddenly heard gasping from behind.

She saw two of her new classmates hiding from behind a tree. She shot at them as they both transformed into hideous monsters.

Eris made a satisfied grin as that meant had that her powers were still active.

She then happily twirled around before her expression went back to that of seriousness.

Now all of Paris shall face my judgement!

The storm looming above had now escalated as the city transformed into an apocalyptic scenery.

Structures were now left at ruin, cars were now littered. Everywhere one went the sounds of the loud thunder would follow.

Mindless monsters who were once people, were now seen wandering the streets in confusion.

Many had now fled into hiding in fear of the villain's wrath.

Somewhere Nathanael hid behind a pillar within a large building (or what was left of it anyway) as he recalled of the events that had transpired.

How he was separated from the rest of his class. How he had tried to search for his mothers whereabouts but to no luck.

Then he felt a strong gust of wind blowing which he deduced could only mean one thing.

Eris.

His breathing sped up along with his heartbeat. His body stiffened, and his knees weakened.

Then he heard the sounds of sparks and electricity, confirming his guess.

Taking in what little courage he had inside, the young artist had decided to take a quick peek.

He saw her, Eris, hovering above ground while being surrounded in an electrical field made from her own powers. Appearing to be far more terrifying than when he last saw her. Almost as if she was at the brink of her own sanity.

Nathanael hid himself again after that. His worries intensified.

All he could do right now was hope, hope and pray that Eris wouldn't see him.

Just then he spotted the building's entrance door slightly open and thought that perhaps it was his best chance for safety.

He took another glance at Eris before making his run.

It was now or never.

With a deep breath the boy ran towards the door, only for him to accidentally kick a small piece of stone as he did.

Eris heard this and was startled. And fortuitously blasted at the building's ceiling causing it to break and fall on to Nathanael.

The boy widened his eyes before closing them, expecting for the pain to come swiftly, only to find for that moment of pain to never happen.

Baffled and surprise, the boy opened his blue orbs and was shocked as to what he was seeing.

The large rubbles that were supposed to fall on him had floated in mid air while emitting a blue aura.

Nathanael looked towards Eris only to find her to be as shocked as he was.

The redhead then looked into the rubbles again and noticed that the blue light had appeared to be oddly familiar.

He searched through his memories until a moment of realization had hit him.

Since this morning he had been experiencing small, minor, yet strange occurrences.

He looked into the blue light and focused on it, noticing that it was emitting the exact same color when his class were sent to the park, and when his pencil case appeared in his bag.

He felt a weird but recognizable sensation coming from the light's aura. He didn't know why but somehow he felt as if it was his.

Was he causing this?

To test his hypothesis, Nathanael willed the rubbles to drop from his side. And instantly all the rubbles followed as they went to his right before they stopped glowing and fell.

So he was causing this.

Nathanael looked frightened.

Meanwhile Eris, who was still stunned as to what she had just witnessed, was suddenly startled when she heard her name being called.

Eris!

Eris turned towards that direction and saw Ladybug and Chatnoir wearing odd and ridiculous styled clothings.

Ladybug wore a large pair of heart shaped pink colored shades, a white top hat, and a fuzzy purple scarf.

While her partner on the other hand sported a colorful propeller hat, an oversized pink coat, and two pairs of monocles on both his eyes. He also seemed to be wearing a Santa clause beard.

When Eris saw them her immediate reaction was to go into a fit of laughter.

What are you wearing?

Its our new get up., Chat slickly answered, a sly smirk forming around his lips.

And do you think that would help in stopping me?

Ladybug ran and climbed into a nearby upside down car before jumping and launching herself towards the villain.

Eris, with her power of flight managed to have dodged her easily. She then pointed her finger at her and was shot.

However when it did hit her, her appearance had only remained the same.

What the?

Your goal is to liberate us from normalcy right? Ladybug explained, her face showing a hint of smugness.

Well how is this, she spun around as to display her entire costume, normal.

Yeah no "regular" person would ever dare be wearing an outfit like this one on a daily basis., Chatnoir stated.

Eris eyes widened in surprise.

Now turn Paris back to the way it was!

No!, the villain gazed angrily at the two heroes as her sudden emotions had caused the wind to blow violently.

Chatnoir pointed his baton to the ground while Ladybug launched her weapon into a barely broken lamp pose as to prevent themselves from being knocked back.

Eris then flew higher into the air and summoned a rain of purple lightning to attack them.

Both manage to have avoided that.

She then vanished only to reappear behind Ladybug but was nearly hit by a flying piece of Chat's baton, causing her to teleport away again.

Now furious, Eris's eyes started to glow purple once more.

She shot sparks at them from every direction but the heroes, with their new found confidence, had only treated her attacks as if it were a walk in the park.

Ladybug then decided to deliver somersault punch towards Eris but the villain had dodged her attack. However she did notice that she was covering the item that she had around her neck protectively while doing so.

That was when she realized that she had finally found on where the akuma was hiding.

Chatnoir! Her necklace!

Her partner nodded in understanding. He then extended his baton and leaped.

Eris readied herself to teleport, covering her necklace while doing so, but was instantly surprised when Ladybug suddenly tied one of her hands with her yoyo.

This gave Chat enough time to use his Cataclysm and destroyed the jewel with just one touch.

Once it broke the akuma came out attempting to escape. But the spotted heroin was already well prepared as she threw her weapon and successfully captured it.

No more evil doings for you little akuma., she uttered. Time to de-evilize!

She then opened her yoyo and released the now purified creature.

Bye-bye little butterfly.

She took out the magazine that she used earlier and tossed it high into the air.

Miraculous Ladybug!

A number of ladybugs were then summoned again, fixing all the damages that the akuma had done and returning things back to normal.

The gray clouds disappeared and revealed a beautiful sunset.

The broken structures that were destroyed and the wandering monsters were reverted back into their natural selves.

Pound it., the heroes then made their traditional victory fist bump.

Once she had returned back to her normal self, Juleka looked confusedly at her surroundings, puzzled as to what had just happened.

When her eyes landed on Ladybug and Chatnoir however was when she instantly understood.

Her expression immediately showed shame within them as she sighed while closing her eyes in regret.

Now that the city had now returned back to it's normal appearance, people were now free to casually be doing their regular activities under the starry night.

Within a small apartment, inside a blue colored room, Nathanael, still troubled and confused from what he had discovered earlier, was now observing both his hands keenly.

He couldn't understand, nor could he believe. How was he able to perform all of those unnatural feats.

Perhaps he was just too caught up in the moment, he thought. Perhaps he was so much under stressed that his brain was willing to do anything just to distract him.

As if that made any sense.

He then begun to clutch his head out of frustration before his eyes took a glance at his pencil case.

The same one that mysteriously appeared in his bag earlier.

Nathanael held out both of his hands, focusing.

Suddenly the small object begun to emanate a blue aura as it levitated from its position.

Surprised, the boy immediately dropped the item in shock, once again staring at both of his hands in fright.

Elsewhere, Juleka, still ashamed at the previous events, had now locked herself inside her cabin crying.

Her mother and brother had tried to cheer her up, knocking at her door repeatedly as to be let inside.

They wanted to reassure her that it was fine, that none of them was holding it against her. They even reminded her that all of them had already experienced being akumatized in the past.

Eventually both of them had given up, deciding that it was probably best to offer her some space.

Inside, the girl held her heart shaped necklace, a gift given to her by her father back when she was younger, back when he still had her back.

- my precious beautiful little jewel.

Suddenly her breathing intensified as she clutched the necklace out of anger.

This is all you're FAULT!

She then threw the necklace away where it flew onto a wall before falling onto the floor.

After that, tears begun to resurge her field of vision. Once again being the broken girl she always was.

Well. That was entertaining., exclaimed a man out of amusement as he held a wineglass filled with a refreshing red drink.

It has actually been like this for a while now, Virgil explained, still wearing his driver's uniform.

Both of them were standing on top of a tall skyscraper, watching the city below the evening sky.

Sir. Should we be concerned about a possible interference?

Nah., the man shook his head with a grin.

Proceed with the plans. Just as you said it yourself Virgil, this kids most probably have no clue of what's hiding behind the shadows of their own city. So long as we keep ourselves quiet, they along with this Hawkmoth character, wouldn't be a hindrance.

Virgil nodded.

And the warlocks sir?

The man smiled., Please. We both know that those fools would never go that far even if they tried to investigate us.

Virgil nodded once more.

Understood sir.

What about "them"?, the man asked.

A chill went into Virgil's spine after hearing that.

Still no word sir. But it appears that our information is still the same as it was.

Good.

Virgil raised a brow, still perplexed at his boss's constant reaction regarding those two, but made no word of it whatsoever.

After a while, the man turned his attention towards the moon, revelling at its beauty.

He smirked as he mused himself if ever he would to confront his old enemies, and what words he would say once he meets them.

He also pondered on what they might look like after all this years.

But it was likely that there was no chance that he would.

When he was first told that the golden gates of opportunity were opening for him and his kind, he would have probably scoffed and throw that person out of his presence for saying something so silly. But now that he was here, he would have offered that person a reward for telling him this.

He then gazed at the moon one last time as he enjoyed his little drink.

This time, we will succeed.
