Chapter 4: Two Freaky Situations

Where are you brats?!

Kung Food shouted from the top of his lungs as he searched for his two prey within Francoise Dupont.

He snapped his fingers and instantly two of his hypothesized minions appeared with their eyes purple.

They were Reverser and Chatnoir.

Search for them.

The two bowed their heads in obedience before separating.

Inside the art room was where Mightillustrator and Ladybug hid. They stayed quiet, waiting for Reverser to fly by as they peered through the windows.

Ok, you remember the plan now right?, Ladybug asked, turning her head toward Mightillustrator.

Mightillustrator nodded in response.

And with that, both exited the room then proceeded to go into different directions.

Mightillustrator went down the stairs then sneakily hid behind one of the benches.

After making sure that he had evaded Kung Food's detection, the hero then took out his pen and drew on his tablet.

Instantly a toy car had appeared along with a small straw basket filled with what would be considered as "rare ingredients".

Why?

Because if Kung Food had any known weaknesses, it would probably be his insatiable urge to collect any form of rare ingredient that he could get his hands into.

The boy then drew a remote control next, and after that Mightillustrator turned the switch and drove the toy car towards the villain.

Kung Food was confused at first, before his attention took notice of the basket with all the foods inside it.

A smile crept on his face.

The villain then tried to reach out for it, but when he did the car suddenly moved backwards. He then attempted to reach out for it again only for the same result to repeat.

Soon the car started to move away from the villain as he gave chase.

They circled the hallways for a couple of times before suddenly the car started to grow wings.

The toy then flew, along with the food. But a determined Kung Food wasn't about to give up so easily.

Kung Food climbed up the stairs following the small vehicle. He then saw it went inside one of the classrooms.

When he got to the door grunting, he was delighted to find the small toy had now finally halted.

The man was happy as he went inside but as he was about to grab the basket he was then taken aback as he saw both of his minions tied and unconscious.

He then suddenly saw Ladybug standing not too far from them as she smiled and waved her hand at him.

The villain then heard the door shutting. When he turned around to look at it he saw Mighillustrator leaning his back by the wall close by it.

It was now clear to him that this was a trap.

Furious, the man turned towards Ladybug with an enraged face.

You brats!

However as he was about to charge at her, he suddenly felt something tied to his left foot.

It was a rope drawn by Mightillutrator.

With one pull from the boy the villain had instantly lost his balance as he fell down to the floor, suddenly becoming unconscious.

Now that he was defeated, Ladybug walked near him, turned him around, and took out his satchel.

I'm just going to confiscate this.

She then turned around and walked towards an unconscious Chatnoir and Reverser with Mightillustrator next to her.

As she was about to leave, the bluenette was suddenly pulled by the arm as she spun, causing her blue eyes to meet that of another's.

Mighti-illustrator?, she asked, shock evident in her voice.

Please. Ladybug., the artistic superhero pleaded., Just once? Just this once while no one's looking.

Their lips drew nearer, closer. As they were about to make their kiss a loud noise was suddenly heard.

RING!

Nathanael's eyes jerked open as the blue aura that had caused his entire room to float while he was sleeping had disappeared.

All his possessions then dropped as he fell out of the air and into the floor.

Crashing sounds were heard.

Nathanael?!, his mothers cried out.

He then attempted to sit up before his alarm fell on the top of his head.

He then rubbed his head in agony.

Ouch!

His eyes then noticed that his entire room had now seemed messier than usual with some of the objects not sitting in their usual positions.

Flashes of his memories then flooded as he recalled of yesterday's events.

His eyes widened in both surprise and horror.

Uh oh.

It was a regular day at Francois Dupont as Juleka entered the school. Many were seen filling the hallway until her eyes managed to have caught a glimpse of Rose.

She decided to walk to her but as she tapped her shoulder her hand had only passed through to her, as if she was a ghost.

Her eyes widened after that.

She then turned her head and saw Marinette and Alya.

Juleka went to them to explain what just happened, but no matter how hard she tried to speak, her voice couldn't be heard

The young girl panicked.

What is happening right now?

Finally, her copper eyes managed to have spotted her brother who was heading towards his classroom.

She ran to him, not caring whether how many people she would bump on the way.

Luka! Luka!, she shouted.

But as she neared him, the blue haired musician had suddenly disappeared.

The girl then looked around her surroundings, only to find that everyone else had also suddenly vanished.

Her eyes widened once again.

Go and hide like a mouse.

Juleka heard a familiar voice. When she turned around and looked, she saw standing there was…

Reflecta?

Why do you even bother being here., Reflecta spat., do everyone a favor and just disappear.

Juleka then looked down thinking of what Reflecta had told her.

Reflecta then gave out a sadistic smirk as she held Juleka's cheeks, studying her face.

Lucky for us though, I have a friend who could do just that.

Suddenly thunder was heard as the skies darkened.

A silhouette of a female figure was shown hovering in midair.

One look at her and Juleka had instantly recognized of who the figure was.

Eris.

The silhouette smirked maniacally as she pointed an accusing finger at Juleka.

Sparks begun to surge from Eris's fingertips.

Bye darling, Reflecta said delighted.

Before the girl could even make a run for it, the villain had already made her shot.

Juleka jolted awake after that, panting repeatedly out of horror.

Her emotions then eased as she relaxed herself after realizing that it was all simply a case of the bad dreams.

She sighed in relief.

Now that she could focus, only one question crept in her thoughts.

Where was she?

Juleka looked around at her surroundings, finding herself at a strange place

The surface was soft and a little bit bouncy, the environment was dark but not pitch black, a light yet heavy material was currently placed atop of her back.

She didn't know where she was or how she got there.

Juleka also felt her body to feel quite strange as well.

She started with her hands and noticed that her nails seemed longer, and that she now also seemed to have four sets of fingers in each hand.

Shocked, she now then proceeded to investigate her face and felt a long snout, she also felt strands of long hair somewhere between them.

She then held her ears and felt them to be roundish and large.

Now panicking, the girl begun to move rapidly until she felt as if she had accidentally stepped on something, causing her to feel pain.

Ouch!

She then abruptly fell resulting in her to land on something hard.

She stood up and held her head in agony as she opened her eyes, surprised to find a gigantic bedroom.
Wait?, she asked., This my bedroom?

She then looked at her self once again now that she had more light, now realizing that she had now turned into a mouse.

The girl looked at herself by the mirror, studying every part of her new features.

She then thought that perhaps this was just another nightmare. But when she tried to pinch herself, all that resulted was a jolt of pain.

Ouch.

Juleka felt a feeling of dread.

What is happening to me?

Suddenly she heard a knock.

Juleka, are you alright in there?

Her ears perked up.

When he didn't hear her answer, the boy sighed, still fully aware of how upset his sister was regarding yesterday's incidents.

Well, the boy told his sister, breakfast is on the table if ever you're ready.

Luka., Juleka whispered.

She was now confused, what should she do now?

She didn't want her family to see her at this unnatural state, she didn't want them to see her like this.

Juleka was aware of the fact that there was an entire list of difficulties and struggles when it comes to raising a teenage girl, but she was very certain that them turning into mice wasn't one of them.

So, with a deep breath, the girl had decided to make the wise decision, even if it would make her feel more of a freak than she already was.

She went down to her desk, scurried through her cabin, then squeezed through the door.

She then ran throughout Liberty until she had finally reached the dinette, where she saw her mother.

The girl scurried towards her.

Anarka, who was now finished eating, had now went to the kitchen in order to clean up, unknowingly having someone tiny following her.

She then went to the sink where she saw all of yesterday's leftovers. She decided to take out a plastic bag while yawning.

She always did hated cleaning.

Mom! Mom!, Juleka attempted to call for her mother but to no avail.

She then decided to climb up the sink, hopping to catch her attention. But even then the results were still the same.

Mom!

She tried and she tried but calling out to her doesn't seem to work. It was almost as if she couldn't understand her.

Anarka then returned with the black plastic bag, sleepily throwing out the leftover food while as her daughter tried desperately to get her attention.

Mom! Mom! Down here!

As Juleka continued trying to call her she then abruptly made a mistake as she tripped on her tail, causing her to fall down directly to the plastic bag.

Anarka then tied it up, went out side, and threw the bag to a nearby biodegradable trash bin.

Inside, a little mouse, now all covered in food had now given up as she sat.

Mom. I'm right here.

Inside his room, Nathanael had just finished preparing himself for the day as he fixed him self while looking at his own reflection.

He sighed.

He had been pondering all morning regarding on what was happening to him. But unfortunately none of his theories could create a logical answer.

He then looked into his study desk and spotted his paint brush.

Nathanael let out one of his hands as he willed the paint brush to move.

And as expected, the item begun to levitate as it emanated a faint blue glow.

He sighed once more.

What am I going to do with this?, he whispered worriedly.

He then willed for the paint brush to return down again, but when he did it only remained hovering in midair.

That made Nathanael raise a brow.

He then repeated the same action, but the paint brush refused.

That made him panic.

Just then, as he turned around after hearing a sound, the boy saw another one of his items floating.

Nathanael then looked towards his left and then to his right seeing as now his entire bedroom had now started to fly around.

He panicked as he begun trying to catch all of them, running around his room before somebody else sees.

He caught his math book then his inhaler, but he dropped all of them once he spotted a particular comic book hovering by.

He dashed forward as quickly as he could until he had finally caught it.

Nathanael hurriedly checked if there were any damages to the comic book before releasing a breath of relief.

The artist then smiled after that, glad that it was still in perfect condition.

Nathanael!

Surprised by the sudden call, all the items that were floating around in his room had suddenly fallen down.

Thus causing crashing sounds to be heard.

What was that?!, both his mothers exclaimed.

Nothing!, Nathanael answered. Just umm… just tripped on something that's all!

*gasp*

Are you alright tomate?

I'm fine!

Quick, Wendy, get the first aid.

Nathanael's panicked face later became that of a deadpan after that.

He then stood up as he begrudgingly took a hold of his bag that had floated right next to him.

Nathanael sighed as he placed the comic book down his drawer.

Was it still safe to consider coming to the school today?

Guess he'll just have to think about it during breakfast.

The boy took another glance at the comic book, hoping that it could somehow provide some answers for what was currently happening to him.

He then exited his room as he walked towards the table awkwardly, making sure he was careful not to make anything fly around.

He sat at the chair next to Shadow as he exhaled.

So far so good.

His body then jerked up slightly as his mother suddenly approached him, carrying the first aid kit.

The black haired woman took out a bandage as she examined Nathanael.

Alright, where does it hurt?

Nathanael then looked at her in annoyance.

I told you I-

The boy turned his eyes slightly at his plate as he saw it spinning around slowly.

He quickly placed his hand on it before she could see.

Uh…actually, I think this part does hurt quite a bit., the boy pointed to the left part of his cheek.

His mother then placed the band aid on him.

Thank you.

The woman smiled before leaving.

You two really need to stop spoiling him so much.

Nathanael's eyes widened as he heard a familiar sounding voice again.

He then turned around towards the cat.

The feline gave the redhead an annoyed look.

What?

Nathanael kept his eyes at it, looking as if his eyes were about to leave his sockets.

Shadow saw this and later made a face full of shock.

Could you believe it., the red haired woman suddenly interrupted angrily while taking Nathanael's plate., Our latest client just called and said that her niece did not like the charm bracelet we made for her! Now she's demanding for a refund!

What!, her partner cried out., But we've been working on that for months!

The redhead then returned the plate to the boy. Nathanael looked at the plate and saw it now filled with two eggs and a piece of bacon forming into the shape of a smiley face.

His eyes drooped as he stared at it, finding it quite uncomfortable that his breakfast was at a better mood than he was.

He then tried to grab his fork which suddenly floated away from his hand.

He turned his eyes to his mothers, worrying that they might have seen.

Fortunately they didn't, apparently still too busy complaining about some rude customer or something.

He then tried to grab for the salt, only for once again, for it to hover away from him.

Nathanael struggled to grab a hold of it until he finally did.

He quickly looked at both women's direction, still not noticing.

The boy sighed as he poured the salt, only for each grain to float.

Nathanael then looked to his mothers once more before trying to take each grain hurriedly before they could see.

The grains fell when he heard the stereo suddenly turned itself on. A part of him wondered if he could have caused that as well.

I thought that I already turned that thing off?, the black haired woman huffed.

She walked towards the radio, switching the controls to deactivate, but no matter how she tried, the device continued to refuse.

The lights suddenly started to flicker. Nathanael looked and saw a chair moving slightly on its own.

He saw some of the utensils shaking, the plates turning, the coffee in his cup suddenly freezing.

I thought you said you already handled the light bulbs Wendy?

Nathanael looked and saw the redhead eyeing her.

Why do I always have to do everything around here?, the woman with the bob cut retorted.

Excuse me, but who made breakfast?

The boy watched at what he was causing, fearing that things may go out of hand if he continued to stay.

He then stood up.

I have to go to school now. I just remembered that I still have to sign up for art club this year.

But you haven't touched your breakfast yet?, the redhead asked.

I still have the money you gave me yesterday., the boy explained., And I already reheated the sandwich from the fridge.

Ok. But did you remember to-

I'm going to go now. Bye.

The boy then took his bag and made his way to the door.

Nathanael! Wait!, the cat shouted, now returning back from his state of shock.

However the boy didn't hear him, already closing the door as he hurriedly exited.

What was that about?, the two women wondered.

They then noticed the lights stopped flickering once he left.

Ladies., Shadow called., I believe the time has come.

The feline jumped to the table as he pushed Nathanael's cup. The two women looked and saw that it had now became solid ice.

Their eyes widened in shock as their mouths gawked.

They do grow up fast.

*pitter**patter**pitter**patter*

Elsewhere, somewhere within the city, Juleka still as a mouse, had walked lonelily on the sidewalk with people either ignoring her or avoiding her.

Of course.

After escaping from the black trash bag (don't ask how), she made her way out of the garbage bin and into the city.

She had now fully given up in trying to call for her family after realizing that they couldn't seem to understand her while she was at that state.

Though perhaps it wasn't a great idea to wander into the streets of Paris either considering all the dangers that a mouse could possibly face there.

But she couldn't face her mother or her brother at this form, or at least without feeling worried.

She thought that maybe perhaps there was someone somewhere that could possibly help her but she quickly brushed it aside considering its improbabilities.

Juleka sighed as she continued crawling, still having to get used to walking in all fours.

Why are these things happening to me?

As she continued her ears suddenly raised, instantly feeling a sensation of instinctual fear.

The girl then looked behind her as she stiffened after realizing that something was following her.

There situated not that far from her was a gray hungry looking feline eyeing her while at a pounce position.

Juleka immediately felt dread after seeing such a sight.

The feline readied itself before it made its move, however luckily Juleka managed to have jumped just in time before it did.

The tiny mouse then ran as the feline gave chase, not exactly wanting to be the creature's next meal.

And people wonder why I hate cats!

Perhaps it wasn't such a great idea to come to school today., Nathanael said in his thoughts. Blue eyes drooping as he gazed around his classroom.

Apparently after the "Eris incident", many of the new classmates that they had yesterday had decided to transfer into different schools, realizing that no exhilarating moment was worth witnessing such horrors, with some probably leaving Paris by now.

The redhead sighed as his pupils turned towards his bag.

He opened it slightly, simply to take a peek. When he did open it, he saw the same blue glow.

He sighed once again as he zipped it close, placing it back under his desk.

Nathanael was glad that he was sitting at the back of his class while not sitting next to anyone. He was even more glad that people tended to treat him as if he were some kind of background setting, something that they would see but brush off in an instant.

For if anyone were to find out on what was happening to him, the thought by itself gave Nathanael chills.

The boy then looked at his remaining classmates, the majority of which he was already familiar of.

Near the chalk board Rose, Adrien, and Alya were chatting while sitting on the next row was Max playing another one of his newly programmed video games with Marinette and Mylene watching.

Behind them was Lila, who was apparently too busy being engrossed in a book to worry about anything.

Nathanael let out a breath, he really wished he was like her right now.

Just then he thought of drawing something as sketching always did made him relax.

He grabbed a pencil along with a sheet of paper as he begun drawing.

He decided to start by sketching a simple doodle of a butterfly until the blue energy emanated from it as it came to life.

Nathanael immediately covered it with his hands as to prevent anyone from seeing.

Was he turning into Evillustrator again? No. No. This wasn't how akumas worked, or at least not how he remembered it to be.

Then again perhaps becoming akumatized right now wasn't the worst thing that could happen, one fight with Ladybug and Chatnoir and everything would go back to the way it was, back when he was still normal.

Hello there.

Suddenly Nathanael was startled as he heard a voice speaking.

He looked and saw a girl who he had recognized from yesterday.

She stood there with a stoic expression, devoid of all emotion.

H-hi.

Are you drawing something?

Ye-yes.

May I see?

Nathanael was nervous, he didn't want anyone to see that he had a live butterfly hiding in his hands.

Not long the girl decided to plaster a smile, though Nathanael could already notice that she wasn't even trying to make it at least seem genuine.

My name's Samantha by the way., the girl introduced herself.

Nathanael. Nathanael Kurtzberg.

She then peered into Nathanael's hands for a second before continuing.

If it makes you feel any better, I would like to personally welcome you to the club.

Huh?, Nathanael raised a brow., How does that make me feel any better? And what are you even talking about?

She then made a serious face.

Beware the brutal green giant who would no doubt try to tear your bones limb from limb.

What?

Nice meeting you Kurtzberg., Samantha turned, walking towards her sit.

Also, the girl stopped for a second, tell you're friend I said hi.

The boy was confused, none of what Samantha had just said made any sense whatsoever. Almost as if she was just muttering a bunch of random words.

He then looked to his hands after he no longer felt the feeling of something fluttering.

He tried to slowly take a peek but was surprised when it had returned into being a simple drawing.

Am I going crazy?

Just then the lights started to turn on as it flickered.

Not again.

All looked at the light bulbs questioningly.

Should we get the handy man?, asked Adrien.

Max stop playing with the lights., Alix accused.

I swear it isn't me this time., the boy defended., Hey wait. What's happening to my phone?

Max looked at his device as he saw it glitching.

Later Alya turned to look at her own phone as well and saw it doing the same thing.

Soon everyone's gadgets begun to ring and buzz uncontrollably.

A loud noise was suddenly heard as the door closed.

Adrien was about to head towards it before he slipped, he then looked and saw that a wet puddle had appeared out of nowhere.

Are the pipes leaking?

No. They aren't., Nathanael whispered to himself.

What was he thinking! Of course it wasn't safe for him to be here. In fact it wasn't safe for him to be anywhere.

Without a second thought the boy took his bag and ran.

He opened the door and quickly made his way out of the classroom.

Nathan wait!, Rose called., Classes haven't even started yet!

Walking through the hallway was a boy with dark hair and a red hoodie. He was carrying with him a book and a pen while listening to some of his favorite hits through his earphones.

He then raised his eyes and saw a particular companion of his running by.

He raised his hand in order to greet him.

Oh hi Nathanae-

He felt a gush of wind as he ran pass him, eyes widening in surprise.

Ok then. Guess if you really have to go that badly?

The artist exited the building and was now heading down the stairs as fast as he could. He then tripped as he fell with many of his items falling out of his bag.

He stood up, trying to gather them until-

Nathan wait!

Where are you going dude?!

He looked and saw Marinette, Rose, Alya, and Nino chasing him.

Nathanael then decided to leave most of his belongings behind as he continued on running.

Back inside the classroom, everyone stared in wonder as the lights had now stopped flickering.

Sitting next to Lila a girl whispered-

So. It has begun.

In a dark and empty alley where only a bunch of dirty trash bins could be found, a mouse was emerging from her hiding spot as she raised her ears while turning her head from left to right out of alertness.

It had been difficult in getting rid of that cat but fortunately it seemed that watching all those old timey cat chasing mouse cartoons that she had watched with her brother had somehow finally paid off.

She sighed in relief as she scurried out, still well cautious while doing so.

As she was about to leave the alley she suddenly heard footsteps approaching forcing her to halt while crawling backwards slowly.

Nathanael ran as fast as he possibly could, not really caring where he would end up. All he cared about right now was to get away from it all.

As he ran he managed to have caused a couple of minor yet strange anomalies as he went his way.

A street vendor who was selling vegetables for example managed to have had a tomato explode to his face as he passed.

There was also that fire hydrant that had suddenly burst out water causing a dog to flee in terror.

The lamp posts that he passed flickered on and off until he was at a distance.

Eventually his body gave in as he held his knees while catching his breath.

Juleka peered into the person as he panted out of exhaustion.

Her eyes then widened after she saw who it was.

Nathanae-

She tried to call to him but stopped as she remembered that nobody was able to understand her.

She then sighed out of hopelessness.

Suddenly, hearing his name, the boy turned his head as he stared at a small, black colored mouse.

Juleka saw this as her eyes widened once again.

Wait. You can actually understand me?

Her voice sounded familiar to Nathanael, he searched through his memories until his face went shock.

Juleka?
