Undercover operation
Chapter 18th
Doctor Edwards at the Harrisburg medical center emergency room entrance was up on the roof waiting for the helicopter to arrive. Since the operating room was standing by with the team waiting.
While two technicians were waiting with the doctor holding onto the stretcher. It was pitch black outside with a slight breeze moving towards the Northwest to make it slightly difficult for the helicopter to land with the rotors.
Moments later seeing the searchlights coming towards them. The doctor and the technicians moved back to let the helicopter landed while letting the blades stop spinning. Though the wind had picked up slightly caused by the rotors.
A few minutes later the blades stopped and the technicians moved in to place the wounded NCIS agent to have him brought in with Doctor Cyril being introduced to Doctor Edwards explaining further the medical situation with his patient.
"Doctor Taft the operating room is waiting for you with Doctor Gilbert to be assisting you on the surgery. Good luck Doctor Taft." he commented with seeing the face of the patient with two wounds in his shoulder and left thigh.
It was a real mess with Madeline having taken out Riccio and Virginia. Once the news gets to Damon. He's going to be hell to pay with sending further associates to go after him and be rid of his pest in general.
"Thank you, Doctor Gilbert." Taft walked inside following the doctor to the eight floor for where the team is waiting. The elevator was slightly slow for some reason with Taft looking over at Madeline extremely quiet throughout the entire flight on the helicopter. Turning to face the woman..."Are you alright?" he asked...
"Not really doctor. Eventually I will get over it with time." she stated when they finally reached the eighth floor. Doctor Gilbert first showed the woman for where the waiting room was located. While the rest of the team will be showing up.
Sometime later Doctor Cyril Taft was scrubbing up with wearing the green gown, cap, mask and in a few moments the gloves. Doctor Gilbert came in to greet Doctor Taft having heard about the legend. "Our patient is all set Doctor Taft with the x-rays ready for both the shoulder and thigh. Have you ever used the laser before?"
"I have while I was on board the Daniel Webster. It's easier to burn away the bullet once it breaks up to have it removed without complications."
"I agree. Shall we go inside and begin the surgery on your friend and patient?" he looked back at him wondering how he knew this fact.
"Don't worry I was a quick study for when it comes to Special Agent Gibbs medical history." he commented as they continued to walk inside the operating theater.
Some time later in the middle of fixing Gibbs shoulder with Doctor showing how to use the laser with breaking down the bullet inside his shoulder. It only took four shots for the bullet to break down and have Doctor Gilbert using his skill to remove it. While Taft repaired and closed up the small wound with placing a pressure bandage.
Gibbs blood pressure still basically low though creeping up slowly as with his heart rate for which Taft had been worried about. There had been too much trauma during the past months to have Gibbs to give out at any time. The heart monitor had been having a steady beat during the time Doctor Gilbert was working on the right shoulder.
The entire operating team having been working with the doctor has been pretty amazed on how the laser has been working out. Since this was a relative new item on the market...So far it's been tested on a number of patients during the past three months has been working out well...
Doctor Taft had taken over with the general idea began to work on his upper left leg since the bullet wasn't all that far inside the flesh or near the muscle or nerves.
Having the nurse to wipe his brow as he had a tendency to make a joke usually. However this was a serious matter being his first time using the laser.
"It's centered Doctor Gilbert. I am ready to use the laser." he commented with checking the three settings making sure they were correct and blinking green instead of red.
Pressing the laser button. The beam sliced into his flesh breaking down the bullet to take only three tries before he's able to remove the fragments with the scalpel with very little blood seepage. He was thrilled with the device in general. He was considering when he gets back to Bethesda hospital to recommend getting the laser for there hospital. Though it will probably cost a great deal of money.
"Good job Doctor Taft. His vitals are basically rising with the added bag of blood. We will need to check his blood count later. Let's finish up and get the patient into ICU and have the staff keep an eye out on any changes with his heart rate?" Doctor Gilbert placed the pressure bandage on the wound to have the rest of the staff finishing up to have him moved.

Loreile and Alicia had gotten things together with the packing for the trip. Loreile had one hour and twenty minutes before her flight was going to take off at Dulles International airport on American airlines. Alicia had taken her things out to the blue vehicle that Loreile was going to use with leaving it into the parking lot.
Having changed into comfortable items to wear and including loafers inside of the usual with her last month of pregnancy. She had already kissed her son Shane on the brow. Though he's going to be upset that now both his parents are missing. But at least he will have Alicia to keep an eye out on the almost year old boy that loves his parents a great deal.
Loreile was a nervous wreck with her stomach up in arms. She needed to settle down before getting on the flight and try to sleep a little if she can.
Placing on her blue heavy jacket in order to keep her warm from the cold as with her matching gloves and cap to cover her head for the most part.
