Oh my gosh. I didn't even notice I had reviews! The app doesn't give me alerts. Thank you for reading my story. I have a lot to publish lol. But thank you for your input. I like to build up to things I don't like to rush much. I feel build up is all the more satisfying. What do you think? Okay here's chap 3. Dont worry I intend on finishing this. I was nervous how people would handle the subject matter of my story. I hope you stick with me :) I respect and admire all my readers.
Over the next couple days it's been pretty relaxed within the castle. Having Elsa back home was delightful and heartwarming. Olaf was gone on his trip with Kristoff. Anna was dreading the conversation she would eventually have to have with him. She hated thinking about it. The time away from him might be just what they needed. Every day Anna was drug into a small council meeting. So far their illness number went up and reached 80. Anna sent all her man power to go work on the church and provide whatever accommodations it would need to house the families.
The weather was warm and welcoming despite it just hitting winter time. Ever since Elsa came back home there's been little crystals that decorated the castle. All the lamp posts. All the banners and windows and doors. It was beautiful to look at and the cool to the touch was nice on a busy day. With Olaf gone and Kristoff, Anna had the opportunity to catch up with Elsa and have quality time. Something they both desperately needed.
Anna made her way down the hall practicing her breathing exercises. Those meetings really stressed her out. She ran her hand along the wall and smiled softly. The suits of armor had a soft frost to them which made them sparkle. It was beautiful. Stopping in front of Elsa's door she did her signature knock.
Silence.
She knocked again.
Silence.
"Hmm." Anna reached out and grabbed the cold handle and pushed the door open. "Elsa?"
Anna was met instantly with cool air. Cool winter air. A crisp. Stepping inside she rubbed her arm. "Whoa." Anna hummed softly looking up into the ceiling. Soft snow clouds drifted and circled the air above them. A very soft snow fell but melted before it touched the floor. Anna has never seen anything like it and she moved towards the bed and Elsa seemed fast asleep. On her side facing away from her Anna could tell she was resting.
She was quiet and noticed the little strands of magic swirl about the room. Anna's fallen asleep many times with Elsa and hasn't seen her use her magic in her sleep. Did she even know she was doing it? Anna was mesmerized watching the icy blue strands dance around the floor. They bounced around her and climbed the wall up to the ceiling. The magic turned the snowflakes into icy crystals as they fell from the ceiling. She reached out and caught a few in her palm where they melted instantly.
Observing she sat down gently on the edge of the bed. Elsa was dead still, letting her know she was in a deep sleep. Everyone was so worried about what Anna was going through. What was happening here but, what about Elsa? What had she been going through all this time? Anna suddenly felt so selfish. She didn't even ask Elsa how things had been going. What about the enchanted forest? What's been going on in her world?
Anna glanced over and watched a frost slowly climb up the walls around them. It was really starting to get cold and she shivered. Elsa mumbled, twitched a little in her sleep. Nightmare? Anna reached out and ran her hand along Elsa's arm. She was colder than normal.
"Elsa?" Anna spoke softly and gave her a shake. Glancing down she watched as ice slowly crept from around them and scatter across the floor. Anna could see her breath and spoke louder. "Elsa." She shook her again. "Wake up. It's freezing. Please."
The icy crystals that fell from the ceiling were falling a little faster. "Ouch." Anna hissed feeling the icy points. She reached over and grabbed a pillow and held it over her head and shook Elsa. "Elsa wake up!" She said panicked as the crystals fell hard around them. "Elsa!"
Jumping in alert Elsa shot up to a sitting position, hands raised magic shot from her palms. It collided with the wall and shot back towards her which she stopped with a wave of her hand. Hearing the ice fall around her she looked at Anna.
"Anna?" She quickly cut her hands through the air and the crystals stopped and dissolved into nothing. "Anna.. I'm sorry I didn't realize..."
"It's okay." She tossed the pillow aside. "You were having a bad dream.. I didn't know you could use your magic in your sleep?"
"I... I haven't been able to control it." Elsa felt her heart racing. "Anna you're bleeding." Anna stared and brought her hand up to her nose. "I hurt you didn't I?"
"What no! It's a little scratch!" But before she could respond Elsa was already up and scooted to her. She brought her hands up and took her chin in one hand and inspected her nose with the other. "Elsa I'm fine really. It didn't even hurt. I didn't notice."
"Anna I'm so sorry." Elsa inspected her face for any other little puncture wounds. She brushed the little droplet of blood from the bridge of her nose with her thumb. "I didn't mean to do that.. I wasn't aware."
"You do this often?" Anna asked curiously.
"Lately." She frowned and looked at her. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"I'm fine." Anna pulled Elsa's hands away from her face and held them. "I'm okay. I promise." She smiled and leaned in to press her forehead to hers. "Everything is fine."
Warm eyes locked with icy eyes. They smiled softly and lovingly. Elsa felt a little better and the icy room started to thaw. The air between them warmed up almost instantly. Was it the lack of ice or the heat between them? Either way they smiled and gazed at each other. They couldn't calculate how much time they've spent just locked in each other's gaze. They were magnets to each other. Anna smiled softly and let go of Elsa's hands.
"You have bed head." She giggled and brought her hands up to run through Elsa's hair. Pushing it back away from her face she smiled. "Judging by how heavy you slept you must not be sleeping properly?"
"Maybe it's just the travel..." She hummed softly. "Being back in my bed might also have something to do with it."
"Your body is more comfortable here." Anna smiled letting her fingers run through her hair before dropping to her shoulders. "Being home."
"Being here with you." She smiled softly and let her eyes close for a moment. Anna grinned her fingers toying with the purple fabric of Elsa's night dress. "But I owe you an apology."
"My nose is fine." Anna stated and waved it off with her hand. "Honestly I'm okay stop worrying so much." She got Elsa to nod but lost eye contact when she dropped her head. Anna let out a sigh and scooted closer her arms wrapping around Elsa's shoulders. "I'm so happy you're with me again."
"Me too." Elsa hummed against Anna's ear. "I missed you."
"Me too. Every day." Anna pulled back and saw how tired Elsa looked. She let out a huff and pressed her hands to Elsa's shoulders. Pushing her to lay back she added. "You look exhausted." Anna carefully crawled over Elsa. "Come on! It's early and frankly I'm not ready for the day."
"But the sky's awake." Elsa smirked and looked over at her with tired eyes.
"Well the sky can leave a message." Anna pulled the blankets up around her. "Come on." She held her arms out for Elsa to crawl into. "I think just five... ten.. thirty minutes more isn't going to hurt anyone... I hope."
Elsa slid closer and nuzzled up in Anna's protective embrace. She rested her face in the crook of her neck and slung her arm around her waist. Already she felt sleep creep over her. Her eyes heavy and her body fully relaxed. She missed being so close and falling asleep in someone's arms. Well Anna's arms were the only arms she's ever fallen asleep in aside from their Mother's when they were younger. It gave Elsa this sense of safety and that protected feeling was overwhelming after years of being isolated and alone. She spent years and years trying to hide and stay away from people but, now that she has human contact with Anna she couldn't help but crave it. Funny how things tend to work out isn't it? Years of being apart only made them so much more closer when finally reunited. Elsa was thankful every day that Anna braved the snow and ice to climb up the North Mountain for her. Everything Anna has done for her older sister was something to be admired.
As time ticked on the two slowly slipped off into a slumber. Toasty under the blankets, arms wrapped around each other and legs tangled they blocked out the outside world. Elsa snuggled close with a content smile on her face as she slept peacefully. Anna's mouth slightly open and a soft little snore in her nose but peaceful at the same. You couldn't deny they loved each other and needed each other. No one in this entire world could come between these two hearts.

"Anna!" Elsa's voice tore through air. "Anna!"
Anna ran as fast as she could through the trees, sticks and leaves crushed under her heavy steps. Her lungs burned, her heart pounded in her ears as she pushed her body as far as it could go. She could hear Elsa's screams all around her it was hard to determine which direction she should go. She sounded scared and in pain. A nightmare was coming true yet again for Anna's heart. "Elsa!" She shouted zigzagging through trees and rocks. "Elsa! Where are you!?" Anna felt tears in her eyes as she stopped and spun around trying to figure out which way to go. She sounded hurt. Dying. "ELSA!"
"Anna!" Elsa's voice shot around her and she was helpless. "Anna! Hurry!"
"Elsa!" Anna would run one direction and then it switch and she'd have to run in the other direction. Tears streaming down her face she felt so powerless right now. "Elsa!" She cried softly and looked around for her and couldn't find her. Nothing, just her cries in the wind that swirled around her. "Elsa!"
"Anna!" Elsa's voice was desperate. "You promised!"
————————-
Anna shot up into a sitting position and whirled her head to see Elsa sleeping softly next to her. They had separated from their embrace at some point in their sleep. Anna's heart still raced but she watched Elsa's chest rise and fall indicating she was alive and okay. Anna placed her hand on her own chest trying to calm down her chest pain. What the hell was that? Anna shook her head and she could feel the tears from her dream on her face. She quickly rubbed her face dry with the blanket and let out a heavy breath.
"Holy crap." She mumbled and sniffled a little. "What was that?"
"Hmmm..." Elsa's eyes fluttered open and she looked up at her distressed sister. "What?"
"Oh! Nothing!" Anna forced a small laugh. "I have the worst song in my head." She rolled her eyes. "It followed me into my dreams and it was a NIGHTMARE."
"Oh.." Elsa rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. "I think we over slept!"
"You over slept. I've already been up once today." Anna laughed softly. Elsa smiled and threw the blankets off her and gave a stretch. Just as she was about to get up Anna reached out and grabbed her arm. She just stared at her for a moment. That nightmare. It shook her to the core. Elsa looked confused and Anna slowly let her go. "Sorry. I was going to say something and completely forgot!"
Elsa gave Anna a sweet smile and reached over to grab her robe. The light blue fabric slid over her shoulders as she stood and made her way over to the vanity across the room. Anna sat there and just fixed her eyes on her watching her sit in front of the mirror. She tried to run the brush through her hair to tame her blonde locks. Anna let her green eyes follow the flow of her hair along her shoulders. A sweet loving smile on her face as she watched the older girl start her morning routine. Elsa was just a beauty. She was what eyes were meant to look at. There wasn't one flaw on her or about her. She was just so... perfect. Perfection at its finest.
"Anna?" Elsa's looked at her through the mirror. "You're staring."
"Sorry!" Anna quickly jumped out of bed and averted her eyes. "I'm gonna give you some privacy." She nodded and headed for the door. "I'll see you in a little bit!"
Elsa watched Anna leave in a hurry and arched an eyebrow. She thought SHE was weird, Anna was definitely acting a little strange. Maybe she was really shook up because of Elsa's magic in her sleep? She hoped she didn't scare her and made her feel worried or uncomfortable. She was kinda use to Anna's eyes always landing on her from across the room or while she thought Elsa wasn't looking. She could always tell when Anna was looking at her. You know how you can tell when someone was staring? Well it felt different when she did it. She made Elsa feel beautiful, special and admired. She looked at her different than anyone else. When she was Queen and people finally FINALLY got to lay their eyes on her. It was different. She felt like she was an animal in the zoo. This rare creature that people couldn't stop staring at. During her coronation party that's exactly how she felt. She felt on display. The gawking and the ooooo and the ahhhhhs were just too much for her. She felt like some sort of freak even if they didn't know of her powers at the time. Not with Anna though. Anna looked at her with amazement and love in her eyes. Even after learning of her powers she still admired and loved her. Those eyes. Gosh those pretty eyes. Elsa felt a little flush as she set her brush down and fixed her hair. Letting out a huff she got up and got ready to meet with her lovely sister.
"The Queen is waiting for you in the foyer." Said Kai standing tall with his chest out and with his arms properly folded behind his back.
"Which one?" Elsa looked up at him. He sounded so stern and so... snotty? What was wrong with him? He was basically family at this point. He was there for them since the beginning.
"Near the gardens." This time he looked down at her and gave a soft smile. "It's nice to see you Elsa." His kindness suddenly warmed her heart and she couldn't help but give him a big hug. The action took him by surprise but he grinned and returned the hug. "The castle has all missed your smiling face."
Elsa grinned and bid him good day before taking a right at the end of the hall and searching for Anna. It was kind of weird hearing Anna be addressed that way. The QUEEN is waiting for you. The sound of it made Elsa feel like she was in trouble! Sort of how your parents only use your full name when you're about to get yelled at! It sent a little chill down her spine but perhaps she needed to get use to it. Anna was after all the Queen now. Elsa knew she made a great choice but she also felt bad because she threw Anna into the roll and then split. She hoped she didn't have any harsh feelings. After watching her for the past few days rule her people Anna was sweet and kind but also stern when needed. She did however seem like she was far more annoyed than usual. She seemed to be getting frustrated and in her words 'snappy'. Elsa understood. When she was in charge she had to deal with all sorts of things a normal young woman wouldn't have to deal with.
Stopping as she rounded the corner she saw Anna standing in the foyer, back to her and her hair hung down past her shoulders. Her off the shoulder dressed started as light green at the top and faded into a darker shade at the bottom. It had little gold flowers along her back that sparkled in the sun. She seemed to be enjoying the warmth of the air and lets be honest since Elsa came back there's been a chill. She knew Anna was going to soak up all the sun she could before winter hit hard. She looked so peaceful. You wouldn't guess in a million years this woman had the weight of an entire kingdom on her shoulders. She was beautiful. Elsa stepped forward and moved closer to the young Queen.
It didn't take too long for Anna to feel that little hint of cold in the air and she spun around to see Elsa. She gave her the biggest smile and reached her hand out for her to take. She was cold to the touch but held the warmest of smiles. Anna hadn't waiting too long. The moment she closed Elsa's bedroom door she quickly walked away as fast as she could. She somehow lost her breath when she was in that room..
"Wow! Don't you look beautiful today." Anna smiled. "Then again you look beautiful every day."
"Thank you." Elsa laughed softly. "You look gorgeous."
"Hmm." Anna just gazed at her in an adoring fashion before finally snapping out of it. "Oh! I figured we could go for a walk? Just through the gardens? Gerda and some of the other ladies have been preparing it for Winter. I figured this might be one of the last times we actually see flowers for awhile." Did she sound nervous? Anna felt like her voice cracked a little bit and she couldn't stop blushing. Elsa squeezed her hand and gave a nod. "GREAT!" She got too excited and cleared her throat. "Great." Stupid Anna. She mentally kicked herself as she linked arms with her sister and tugged her along. "I wanted to actually talk to you about something.."
"Oh?" Okay now Elsa sounded nervous.
"Nothing bad." Anna said quickly. "No! About the other day.. when we were in the hall with the snow and the magic!" She smiled so big remembering. "It.. it kinda jarred something inside me. I know what happened when we were kids was an accident. I know you informed me of the details and... Anyways. I hope you never felt like I was angry at you or you had to leave because of what happened. I know that's why you left in the first place and the second place... I just hope this time... you leaving had nothing to do with-."
"We talked about this. I didn't leave because I felt like I needed to stay away to protect and keep from hurting you." Elsa said looking over at her. "I left because I'm the fifth spirit... the Northuldra... Ahtohallan... I didn't leave because of you."
"Okay Okay... I'm sorry.. I just..." Anna looked at her sadly. "I don't want you to feel like EVER again you need to stay away from home. From me. I had a weird dream today... actually it was a nightmare.. About the forest.. about you..."
"It was just a dream." Elsa said looking at her. "Right?"
"I know but sometimes.. you heard voices and that turned out not to be disorder or anything it turned out to be something REAL. What if my dreams are doing the same thing?" Anna said softly. "Maybe I'm crazy."
"Maybe you need to see a doctor?"
"Hell no!" Anna said loudly and quickly dropped her voice embarrassed. A few of the ladies out tending the garden turned to look at them quickly. Little stunned looks on their faces. "Sorry."
"The point of the other day was to help you. To give you some stress free fun." Elsa looked at her and smiled. "Don't over think. That was the whole point. Was for you NOT TO THINK. I wanted to take you back to a time where nothing mattered. When there wasn't a crown on either of our heads. When we were just kids and all we had to worry about was kid stuff and fun." They shared a smile. "Our past might be different than most.. but I came back to be with you and to help you."
"Speaking of that." Anna spoke up. "I'm the one that owes you an apology." Elsa suddenly looked confused. "You've been gone all this time and I never asked once, how are you? How are things in the North? The forest? How's Yelena? The rest of the Northuldra? I'm so selfish. I'm so sorry that I didn't take the time to actually think about what you've been going through and what-."
"Sh." Elsa placed her hand over Anna's mouth. "I am fine." She paused and slowly let her hand drop. "Yelena is wonderful! They all are. To be honest I think they're the safest people right now." She hummed referring to the sickness. "Ryder I swear, he has a new baby reindeer every single day!" She laughed softly. "He's always asking me about Kristoff."
"Yeah there's a bromance brewing there." Anna nodded.
"Everyone is fine." She shrugged. "The enchanted forest is.. calm."
"Bruni? Gale?" Anna looked at her.
"Everything is fine.." Elsa nodded. "If something was wrong and not safe or not right I'd let you know."
Anna nodded and they continued on their stroll. The servant ladies all smiled and waved at them as they moved past. Anna kept Elsa secured at her side, locked arms and the casual grin. Nothing ever felt this good. Having her other half back was everything she needed and Arendelle. The flowers were beautiful, their yellows and reds and pinks and oranges. The purples and the blues. The flowers smelled so good and heavenly. Beautiful. So was Elsa. Anna couldn't help but admire her sister. She always did. She was just so perfect in every way. How her hair was. Like right now she had it in a loose braid that rested down her back. How she smelled. Just like flowers. Her eyes, that were sparkling and oh so innocent. Her skin, so soft and cool to the touch. The way she wore a dress. The beautiful light blue that hugged her body and the light purple sparkles that shined in the sun. Everything. Anna was smitten and she always has been. All the time apart. Isolated from each other and now? Anna couldn't stay away from her sister even if she wanted to. If she even dared to TRY. She couldn't keep her hands to herself and Elsa didn't seem to mind.
"I forgot just how beautiful it was out here." Elsa's voice interrupted her thoughts.
"Yes you are." Anna slipped up but quickly added. "And the flowers!" Elsa chuckled. "I'm so distracted."
"You okay?"
"I'm great." Anna nodded. "To be honest this is exactly what I needed. Everything. Getting out and having some fresh air and all that weight lifted from my shoulders." She let out a heavy sigh of relief. "I'm not alone dealing with all this chaos going on around me." She looked at her and swooned. "Thank you so much for coming back Elsa."
"I did say we'd do everything together right?" Elsa smiled back and reached up to tap Anna's nose. "And we will."
"Does that mean you're never going to leave me again?" Anna gave her a sly smile. "Because you're never leaving." Elsa smirked. "I mean it!"
"Don't have to worry about that." Elsa promised. "I wont ever leave you. I never left you in the first place. You can always count on me and you should always remember that. Just like I can always count on you."
By this time they had stopped and were staring at each other. Anna felt her stomach just fill with the biggest butterflies. Her heart was pounding and lets be honest Elsa looked so stunning. She could stare into those eyes for the rest of her life. She felt safe. She felt love. She felt home. Anna couldn't help but slip her arms around her waist and pull her in for a hug. Nuzzling her cheek against hers. She pulled back and let her forehead rest against hers. Elsa placed her hands on Anna's shoulders. Hip to hip they closed their eyes and just enjoyed the moment. Being close. Being loved. When Anna allowed her eyes to open she met Elsa's. She had this look in her eye and Anna arched a brow.
"What?"
"..." Elsa didn't say anything for a moment. "Um. Nothing."
"Don't over think." Anna said softly getting a smile from Elsa. "Don't think. Remember?" Elsa bit her lip and eyed her. "Just feel?" They were silent and what could Elsa do? Anna loved using her own words against her. Anna smiled seeing a little blush on Elsa's pale skin. Hearts racing. Almost zero space between them. Anna felt her chest tighten and she quickly adverted her gaze and reached out to pluck a purple flower. "You know Elsa." Anna smiled at her. "You think too much." She laughed softly and put the flower in Elsa's hair near her ear. "You need to relax."
"Okay I get it." Elsa said pushing Anna way playfully. "Use my own words as ammo."
"Hey I learned a lot being Queen!" Anna laughed and snatched her hand so they could continue on their stroll.
"Yeah you learned from the best." Elsa smirked.
