New chapter. It's my first story on this site!
"Okay so is everything perfect?" Anna asked as she drifted around the kitchen. The chefs kept trying to reassure her everything was okay and it would be wonderful. The castle kitchen was huge. You lost count of how many ovens they had. The floors were a beautiful black and white marble. Enormous chandeliers hung all over the room to ensure that they had the best of lighting. The smells of the food was enough to make Anna's mouth water and she had to contain herself not to dive into the giant pot of stew they were making. Don't worry it wasn't reindeer. "Don't forget anything?"
"They wont." Garda nudged the Queen out of the kitchen. "You're intimidating them and they will forget something."
"Sorry!" Anna apologized quickly before she was kicked out of the room. "I don't mean to fuss."
"Your father was the same way anytime he planned something for your mother." The older woman giggled. "He would get into all kinds of trouble thinking he was helping." This was true. Father was an amazing strong King but Anna got her clumsiness from someone and best believe it was from him. Behind closed doors lets just say you didn't want him carrying anything breakable or well, anything at all. Anna couldn't count how many times she's watched him break a dish.
"Sounds like Father." She laughed softly.
"You do so much for your sister." The woman reached up and straightened the crown on Anna's head. "Ive never seen two people love each other more." Anna shifted her eyes. "It's nice having her home isn't it?"
"It's the best." Anna nodded. "I wished it was under better circumstances." The older woman nodded. "But she's here now so lets make the best of it right?" Garda smiled and went back into the kitchen. "So she'll never leave."
Anna smirked and then went to check the table. They wouldn't be eating in the large dining room. No. She had something extra special in mind. She wanted a more private setting and somewhere they could really talk. She had them set up their dinner out on the terrace in the garden. At this time of night the fireflies always came out and danced amongst the flowers. Her and Elsa use to come out and chase them and catch them in little jars to bring up to their rooms. The garden was their mom's happy place which was why it was so important. Father had it built special, the high glass ceiling was one that opened and closed with some great effort so even in winter they still had flowers. The Queen walked quickly down the hall and outside. The lanterns were lit all around the open area and they had their special candle light to make this scene all the more beautiful.
"Wow." Anna stopped placing her hands on her hips. "I'm good at this stuff.. too bad I wasted all those years waiting for some prince to do this for me when I should've been the prince! I mean look at this! I'm awesome. Let's just be honest."
"Do you want wine?" Asked a servant appearing at her left. "Or something less adult?"
"I'm an adult." Anna looked at him. "Wine of course."
"What kind?"
"The... the kind made of grapes." She rolled her eyes and looked at him. "Duh."
"She wants a red wine." Olaf showed up at her side. "An older wine. Even though younger red wines are more healthy." He looked up and smiled at Anna. "Did you know doctors suggest drinking red wine? It has great health benefits and can extend one's lifetime. Oh! Maybe we should give everyone wine!"
"We're not getting Arendelle drunk." Anna looked down at him. "Though... at this point I'll try anything."
"You think about it." Olaf strolled past her. "Oh! It's so nice! Yes! Yes! Are you and Kristoff having a date!? Oh wait... no you two.. broke up... OH! You have a new Reindeer King?"
"It's for Elsa." Anna corrected him. "For your information little man."
"Ooohhhhh... Elsa has a Reindeer King?" Olaf shook his head. "No no a Reindeer Princess.. What's her name?"
"What?" Anna looked at him puzzled. "What are you talking about?"
"Marmalade. No. No. That's not it." He tapped his chin with a wooden finger. "I can't remember her name."
"Who are you talking about?" Anna moved closer and took a seat peering at the little snowman at his eye level. What was he talking about? "Olaf?"
"When I would go and visit there was a girl there." Olaf couldn't remember her name. "Hmm.. Lemon Meringue... No.. hm.. Oh well..."
"In the woods?" Anna asked curiously and he gave a nod. "The woods woods?" Oh no. Was there something going on? Was Elsa hiding something from her? Someone? Was that the real reason why she was gone all this time? Anna suddenly got depressed and her heart sank to the bottom of her stomach. She started to overthink and her imagination ran wild. Was Elsa interested in someone else? Was there a girl back in the Forest she was seeing? Was Elsa being courted by someone other than her? She almost wanted to cry just thinking about it. Oh My God.. Elsa didn't know of course that Anna was attempting to court her or at least see if there was a possibility there.. But still "I'm too late..."
"Anna!"
The Queen looked up and saw Elsa standing there. Her hair was down and her purple dress hung off her shoulders. The beautiful snowflakes that decorated her arms and along her collarbones just sparkled. She was glowing. A gorgeous crystal herself. The look on her face was full of amazement as she looked around at the setting and then landed her eyes on her sister's.
"Oh my gosh. Did you do this?" Elsa stepped closer and patted Olaf on the head. "Anna it's beautiful." Anna didn't say anything just rose to her feet still numb from the news she just heard. "Oh no was it suppose to be a surprise? I'm sorry." Elsa brought her hands up to her mouth and started to apologize.
"No. No its okay." Anna pushed a smile and held her arms out. "Surprise!"
"I can't believe you went through all this trouble for me." Elsa moved closer and pulled Anna into a strong hug.
"It's what I do." Anna said putting her arms around her. She met Olaf's eye and he suddenly looked as sad as Anna. Olaf. The wisest and most honest living thing in all of Arendelle. "You like it?"
"I love it." Elsa pulled away but her smile too faded. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Anna cleared her throat. "Totally fine! Come on! Sit."
Anna went and pulled Elsa's chair out for her. Olaf lingered nearby and felt like his little ice heart was breaking. He could see the sadness on Anna's face. Even though he didn't alway think things through or notice when he does something perhaps he shouldn't... he realized that maybe his words had upset Anna. She looked so happy and excited and then he ran his little icy jaw. He hated seeing anyone sad but especially one of the girls. Then he perked up getting an idea in his head. He would make this up to her! He quickly skipped off without them noticing.
"I hope you're hungry." Anna sat across from her sister. "I had them prepare one of your favorite dishes."
"I worked up an appetite." Elsa smiled. "Today has been one of the most special I've had in a long time. It felt like old times."
"I'm glad." Anna gazed at her. "I wanted to remind you that you're loved and welcome home."
Elsa smiled at her sister and her heart just exploded. Being here and having Anna put so much effort into letting her know she was welcome and so loved, excited her. They always tried to outdo each other when it came to showing how much they loved one another. Trying to impress the other. Elsa didn't know how she could top this. Anna really went out of her way and the older girl would forever be grateful.
During her stay with the Northuldra they would do all they could to make her feel welcome. Comfortable. She would often wake up to breakfast waiting for her and flowers and little offerings from the children in the little village. Leaving a life that was so luxurious and royal to living in the forest was an adjustment. They were all so kind and Elsa adored all of them as her new family. They all took care of each other and stood for each other. However being back here in Arendelle and sitting with her sister the new Queen, this is what felt like home.
Elsa's thoughts were interrupted as the servants came out with their food. Smiles on their faces as they placed the plates in front of them. Wow. It looked delicious. Elsa placed her napkin in her lap and grinned at her sister. Anna was being a little quiet this evening which was strange but perhaps she was just tired.
"Wow nice touch." Elsa smiled as their glasses of wine was being poured.
"Leave that." Anna told the servant who placed the golden pitcher of wine down on the table. Anna was probably going to need more than just one glass of wine. "Thank you."
"Enjoy your dinner your majesty's." He bowed and made his exit.
A silence fell over them as they took their forks and started in on their meal. Anna had a whole list of things she wanted to talk about. She had all these topics and these little side conversations she wanted to have. She was prepared! However Olaf's words were swirling in her head and she suddenly didn't want to talk. It was a very poor feeling but she could do one of two things. Sit here. Not speak. Pout. Ruin the evening. OR. She could try to get answers without Elsa knowing it. She could maybe open up that door and see what's going on inside. She could act normal and perhaps this entire night wouldn't go to waste.
"Thank you again for this. It's just beautiful." Elsa smiled at her sister once more. "I love everything about it."
"I'm glad." Anna smiled. "You don't get anything like this up in the Enchanted Forest huh?"
"Not this fancy." Elsa laughed softly. "But it's still charming."
"Long nights around the campfire does sound charming." Okay maybe that came out a little snippy but she didn't actually mean it to sound that way. "I enjoyed our time there. It was a different world. Was everyone nice to you while we were gone?"
"Yeah, everyone was respectful and made me feel like I was accepted." Elsa nodded. "It was a home away from home."
"A lot of time for self exploration." Anna said grabbing her wine glass. "I can just imagine."
"I definitely needed that." Elsa said softly. "I feel more at peace with myself."
"Did anyone specific help you with that?"
"Um no not really. It was a mixture of experiences."
"Did you spend time with anyone or were you completely alone the whole time?"
"Not the whole time." Elsa tilted her head a little. "I'm a guest in their home.. a newbie so they were all very curious about literally everything. They gave me my space but they made sure that I knew I was never alone."
"I see." Anna set her glass down and grabbed her fork again. "Well you were never alone to begin with. Remember when you were here you always had me and our little family." She paused. "I hope they don't think that I banished you from here and you had no choice but to stay with them..."
"They don't think that. They know it was my choice to stay with them." Elsa looked at her.
There was a pause. Anna's mind was running a million miles per thought. She was starting to get a little irritated. Jealous. The thought that Elsa left her willingly to be with them was perhaps worse. It was her choice to up and leave her little sister to go live in the woods. She's never experienced these types of feelings before. She was usually so chill minded and now she was starting to get a little more agitated. Not with her sister but with herself and these horrible thoughts. Elsa seemed to of noticed the slight change in Anna's behavior since coming out to dinner. She was just as observant as she was.
"Are you angry at me?" Elsa's voice finally broke the silence.
"What?" Anna asked meeting her sad eye.
"You seem like you're upset with me." Elsa said softly. "Did I do something wrong?"
"Elsa..." Anna frowned suddenly seeing how sad her sister was. She looked down at her plate with her hands in her lap and the biggest frown. "No no.." Anna quickly got up from her seat and moved around the table. "I'm not mad at you." She put her arms around her and held her close. Her hands ran through Elsa's hair as her head rested against Anna's chest. She cursed herself and looked down at her sister trying to give her reassurance. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you feel bad. I've just been thinking so much about Queen stuff you know how it is." She kissed the top of her head and slipped back into her seat. "Now my sweet sister..." She reached across the table and took her hand and raised her wine glass with the other. "I think we need a toast don't you?" Elsa nodded happily and grabbed her glass. "To us. To being the best we can be for each other and for Arendelle."
"Us and Arendelle." Elsa smiled and their glasses clicked. Just as they were taking their drink a loud scratching sound cut through the air. An uncomfortable screeching noise that made your ears hurt. Both of them jumped and turned to look at Olaf who appeared. "Olaf!" He was holding a violin backwards and trying his hardest to play it. The sticks on his head were formed into a little hat and he made a bow tie out of paper. He was focusing but all they heard was the loudest of screams from the instrument. "Sweetie.." They both smiled at each other. "You're holding it backwards."
"Oh." Olaf quickly turned it around. "I knew that!" He started to play again and it actually made musical sounds. Didn't actually form a song but it was better. "Got any requests!?" He bounced up to their table and smiled. "I'm taking requests all night!"
"All night?" Anna stared at him.
"Play us your favorite." Elsa nodded and winked at Anna.
The two girls exchanged smiles and Olaf swayed around them trying to play music. Every now and then a loud screech could be heard. The servants actually shut the door and the windows. All of Arendelle could probably hear his playing! But the girls were good sports and he was trying to make the evening even more special. With Olaf his efforts and his thoughts are what was cherished the most. Elsa and Anna had a wall full of gifts he's made for them over the past few years. His little snow heart was always in the right place and they loved him for it. They laughed and enjoyed the rest of their meal. Olaf made his way around the table still playing the violin. The wine was being poured and the plates were getting clean. It was such a wonderful night. All the little doubts Anna had were gone and washed out with wine and the loving look in Elsa's eyes. The air around them was getting a little warmer and it melted away the images of the forest.
"Okay okay we can't let this go to waste." Elsa got to her feet and motioned for Olaf to keep 'playing'. "My Queen." She bowed a little and offered her hand. "May I have this dance."
"Yes." Anna was red and got so warm all of a sudden but took Elsa's hand. "Yes!"
Taking Elsa's hand in one and placing her other hand on her shoulder and Elsa's on her waist, they did their best to move with the music Olaf was trying to play. They smiled and peered into each other's eyes for a moment. The younger girl couldn't imagine anyone that was more beautiful. Anna let Elsa take the lead and her feet moved along with hers. So far no one stepped on anyone. The fact that Elsa was cool to the touch was welcoming since the younger girl was warm under the collar. She kept a smile on her face and she glanced down at their feet.
"Ah ah." Elsa smirked. "Look at me."
"Hmmmm..." Anna slowly looked up and lock onto her gaze. "It's your feet."
"They'll be fine." She laughed softly.
Olaf swayed around them and smiled happily. He was giddy that they loved his music. If you could call it music. The girls stayed in each other's arms and moved along with the so called melody. The blush on Anna's face never left. She thought maybe she would permanently be the color pink. If Elsa noticed she didn't say anything and she was alright with that. Having her so close, their chests touching and their eyes locked. For once Elsa was the calm one and Anna was the one was having heart palpitations. She only stepped on her maybe twice before Olaf finally stopped playing.
"Any requests!" He asked loudly.
"I think you've earned a break." Anna smiled and pulled away from Elsa as hard as it was.
"Okay!" He bounced by them. "Enjoy the rest of your date!" They both shifted their eyes towards each other and gave a nervous laugh.
"Thank you again." Elsa slid back into her chair. "This whole day has been magical."
"You always bring magic into my life." Anna stated sitting across from her. "Anytime I can give it back is my pleasure." They each finished their wine and the last of their dessert. The fireflies bounced around the empty air surrounding them. "You look so beautiful." Elsa looked away from the little lights. "I mean it."
"Well you look more beautiful." Elsa smiled back at her. "The most beautiful Queen in all the lands." Anna bit her lip. "And I just love the look of 'power' on you."
"Oh you know! I wear it well!" Anna started to fan herself with her hand. "It runs in the family after all!"
"This is my first date you know." Elsa's voice reached Anna's ears. The younger girl looked at her with a semi panicked look on her face, even her ears were red. Elsa smirked as she set her fork and napkin on her plate. "Don't look at me that way."
"But but I.. I uh.. How did... uh..." Anna stuttered. "What what do you mean?" Play it cool Anna.
"Oh Anna." Elsa laughed softly. "You're stuttering." She smiled at her. "I wouldn't change any of this for anything. I've never had anyone do anything like this for me before you know that. It's always been you and me remember? Thank you... for being my first. Even if you didn't mean for it to be."
Anna continued to look at her. Now was her time. It was her moment. Say something. She did mean for it to be a date didn't she? This was her moment. Come on! Idiot! Speak! She just kept staring at Elsa even as the servant came and took their plates. Come on Anna talk. Now is the perfect time to confess. Tell her you love her. Tell her. She already acknowledged this was a date. She wasn't freaked out. That's a good sign! Stop doing that with your mouth you look like a gold fish! Come on. You can do it. Now! Now or never! Remember follow your heart. Like the voice said. She won't judge you. Look at her. She looks so happy. She loves you just.. say something anything.
"I think we should get Arendelle drunk for medical purposes!" Anna blurted out. Oops. Really? Idiot.
"Excuse me?" Elsa just looked at her like she was growing a second head.
"Uh.." Anna was really scatter brained. Speak stupid. "Uh. Yeah! Yeah! Sure! Why not! Right? I mean wine has amazing health benefits didn't you know that? Psh." She leaned back in her chair trying to act all confident. "It was a thought."
"You wanna get Arendelle drunk... for medical reasons?" Elsa stared at her. "How do you suppose we do that?"
"Uh wine and cheese baskets of course!" Anna looked at her. "Every household gets one!"
"What about the kids?" Elsa asked concerned.
"That's what the cheese is for!" Anna laughed. "We're not getting children wasted don't worry."
There was a pause and they just stared at each other. Elsa honestly wasn't sure if Anna was being serious or not so she didn't know how to fully react. She looked as if she wanted to laugh but at the same time her gears were really working. Anna bit her lip and mentally smacked herself. There was my chance I guess and I blew it! Wait. You could have another chance Anna just hold your horses. She picked at the table cloth and then her mouth started to go again.
"It was a thought I just.. I'm fishing for ideas you know. This whole pandemic thing has been so exhausting. Maybe the answer to all of it is really simple and not something extremely complicated you know?" Anna looked at her. "Maybe we're looking in the wrong place?"
"Could be." Elsa shrugged. "I admire that you're really thinking outside the box. I've been really trying myself to think of anything but.. my head is so.. cloudy." She paused. "What about Grand Pabbie?"
"That did actually... cross my mind." Anna nodded. "Kristoff just kept saying how, oh he works with magic.. he can't heal human sickness." She rolled her eyes. "Magic can heal anything. I asked him to escort me to the Valley of the Living Rock many times and he just brushed it off. It's like he didn't want me to go there.." Which was very strange and the look on Elsa's face she was thinking the same thing. "But he doesn't OWN the forest or the road leading there." She smirked. "Maybe we should go pay some trolls a visit huh?"
"I think that's a good idea." Elsa smiled. "We'll bring Olaf."
Anna smiled. Yes! She secured date number two. This would be good. She could really come up with something special on this trip. She always thought it was weird that Kristoff didn't want to go there.. Usually he loved seeing them. It was his family. To be honest she wasn't sure when he went there last. It's been a long time for her.. Oh well maybe she would find answers to that question too. Trolls were horrible at keeping secrets and they tended to have big mouths. Anna would have to plan this trip carefully and hopefully Kristoff wouldn't know about it till.. after the return back home. What did he expect? People were dying all around and so sick! They needed all the help they could get! Elsa let out a sigh and she looked tired all of a sudden. It was her cue.
"Elsa!" Anna said maybe a little too loud again. Elsa stared at her and she fumbled. "I... I wanted to... to uh..." Elsa just arched an eyebrow. "I want to walk you back to your room. You look so beat all of a sudden."
"Oh?" Elsa smiled softly. "Of course."
The girls got to their feet and locked arms. It was getting late and it was a very busy day. They were both feeling the wine and the exhaustion. The whole time Anna was running her confessions through her head. This was the time. She needed to get this off her chest. Elsa even told her she could say anything and she would never judge. Anna was just so scared. She loved her. She was in love with her... and saying it out loud was hard enough let alone to her. Soon they arrived at Elsa's door and their feet stopped. There was a pause and Elsa opened the door motioning for Anna to come inside. She's been in here many times why was she so nervous? She followed her gorgeous sister into her room and oddly the cold suddenly left. It was replaced by warmth and even Elsa kinda stopped for a second to observe it. It was Anna's love... their love. It thawed the room the moment she stepped inside.. Elsa knew that right? Anna was actually hoping that would give her away to her true feelings.
Anna watched Elsa drift to her vanity and look at herself in the mirror before going to her bed and patting the spot next to her. The Queen shuffled her feet forward and happily took the spot next to her. Heart pounding in her chest as she shifted her eyes a little bit. They sat for a few minutes before Anna let out a heavy sigh trying to break the silence. What should she say? How should she say it? Her mind was bouncing around and the forming of words wasn't exactly easy at the moment. Then she felt a cold hand cover hers and give it a firm squeeze. The heat that had been building in Anna's body was slowly simmering down to a light coolness and it felt amazing.
"You have a lot on your mind don't you?" Elsa asked curiously.
"Boy do I ever!" Anna said loudly. "My mind has never been this full before! I swear my head is going to fall off one of these days."
"Is it just about the sickness and Pabbie?" Elsa asked concerned.
"Noooo." Anna hummed softly. "Not just that..."
"What is it?"
"Well..." She paused, her tongue suddenly felt numb and getting words out wasn't happening again. "Uh..." She felt Elsa squeeze her hand. "How do you feel about Lemon Meringue?"
"What?" Elsa's voice was now louder.
"Just answer the question." Anna didn't fully realize how stupid she sounded right now and the confused look on Elsa's face because she kept her eyes locked on the floor.
"What..." Elsa was in complete confusion and LOST. Pie? What the hell? But okay. "Uh.. Well you know I don't like Lemon so that should be the answer."
"What about Marmalade?" Anna bit her lip. "It's okay! You can tell me the truth!"
"Marmalade?" Elsa was lost again.. "What... What kind of Marmalade?"
"Oh my god how many are there?" Anna finally looked at her sister. Oh my god! How many? How many women are named Marmalade? That's what Olaf said right? She looked at Elsa in complete shock and Elsa kinda pulled back a little bit with concern in her eyes. "How many?"
"I've had... many different..." Elsa started.
"Many!? MANY!?" Anna's voice was loud and she threw her hands up. "I knew it.. I knew it... I knew it.. Good job Anna. You're too late.. You're too late and you're just making a fool of yourself. How many have you had? I want to know. NO! I don't wanna know... Yes tell me. How many?"
"Many?" Elsa suddenly scooted a little away from her. So confused and suddenly so worried about Anna's mental health. "A few..." Anna had brought herself up to her feet as Elsa spoke and she just stared at her. "What the hell is wrong with you?"
"Oh my gosh. How long have you been there? Just a few months. You've been with me for a lot longer and I never got..." She was frustrated and perhaps the wine wasn't helping her as she could still taste it on her tongue. "Is that what they do there? Are they just knocking on your door and presenting themselves to you on some platter like, hey eat me!"
"You're drunk." Elsa finally stated but pushed. "Who are you talking about? I feel like this has nothing to do with food."
"Food!" Anna then paused. "Food?" Oh Olaf you twit! Of course! Lemon Meringue Pie... they had some for lunch today... and Marmalade... Every morning they would would have citrus for breakfast on their toast... Olaf! "Okay it's the wine." Anna laughed nervously and put her hand to her forehead. "That darn wine!" But just because she got the names wrong and none of it was ringing a bell to Elsa didn't mean Olaf wasn't in fact TALKING about someone. Anna just made an idiot of herself. "I'm sorry. I'm not use to wines."
"It's fine..." Elsa looked at her and finally laughed. "Maybe we should turn in for the night? Sleep it off?"
"Maybe..." Anna bit her lip.
"Do you wanna sleep with me?" Elsa asked softly. "Or are you okay with the wine and all?"
"I'll take you up on that offer." Anna smiled at her. "I'll go change..." Before Anna left the room she smiled down at her and kissed the top of her head. "I'll be right back."
—-
Elsa watched Anna quickly leave her and exit the room. Sucking in a breath she held it for a moment before finally exhaling and going to her vanity. Looking at herself for a moment before shaking her head. Anna was sure acting funny. Had she never had wine before? Maybe not that much but wow she was really being weird. The Ice Queen was so touched and so amazed by the evening Anna had pulled for her. It was just wonderful! The moment Elsa saw it her heart just exploded. Anna was always so sweet but tonight was so amazing and she looked just stunning. Queen Anna. A true beauty and someone to be cherished and adored. Elsa had no problem doing such things. Her little sister was filling out the role just wonderfully. Elsa smiled to herself at just how wonderful she had been.. her whole life. It didn't matter the distance between them Anna always found a way to be as close as she could be.
The dance. The uh.. music? The fireflies! The food and the company it was a beautiful night. So this is what a date felt like? Elsa never knew what a date would be like but it seemed tonight was as close as she was going to get. She wouldn't have it with anyone else in the world. Even if Anna didn't mean for it to be an actual date it was that in Elsa's heart. She brought Anna up to her room wanting to talk to her about something but suddenly she wasn't sure how to approach it. Grand Pabbie. Anna's sudden interests in foods. The sickness. The wine. It was all clouding her mind and she didn't have enough room to talk or think about anything else. She would have to wait for another day. Getting up from her spot she moved towards the changing screen and waved her hand. The icy dress she created dissolved along with the snowflakes that decorated her flesh. She was left in her undergarments, which she discarded and grabbed her purple nightgown. Slipping it over her shoulders, the silk hugging her curves but also being loose enough to allow comfortable sleep.
Gliding across the floor she made her way to her bed and pulled the blankets and sheets back. Sitting upon the soft surface she ran her hands through her hair and leaned back against the pillow. She was excited to see Grand Pabbie and the trolls. It's been a great while. Which left her thinking about Kristoff.. why was he being so weird about Anna talking to them? He did realize there was an illness that was harming and could potentially kill people in Arendelle. Why did he not want to help? Ever since Elsa came back to the castle Kristoff was doing his best to deliver ice around the city. Ice was definitely needed to the hospitals and clinics as a way to help break fever and other hospital needs. Maybe that was the only way he knew how to help? Ice was his life and he did his job better than anyone out there. Elsa was proud of him and even more proud to have him serve the kingdom. Hoping that he was careful and didn't get sick in the process. Maybe that was the problem? He didn't want Anna to leave the castle hoping that she wouldn't get sick? Still though he was all for the parade and going into the city today. Kristoff was strange sometimes and she couldn't judge him because he was who he was.
Which let her mind wander back to Anna. She had told her that Kristoff had taken the news very well of their break up. Which Elsa also found to be really weird. Sure she knew he would be supportive but still. He wanted to marry her! Why just allow her to walk away and not fight for her? Anna was worthy of a fight and Elsa would fight for her sister every single day. Her love and her support would always belong to the Queen of Arendelle. The woman smiled at the thought of being the Queen's knight in shining armor. How many times has Anna saved her? Too many to count! Perhaps now was Elsa's time to be the one to rescue her? Anna was going through so much self exploring and learning of her identity. Learning that her sister wouldn't most likely have a King at her side. Something that a lot of people would eventually question. The fact that Elsa wouldn't have a brother in law or little nieces and nephews.. Least she didn't have to worry about any evil princes or kings around! That would actually be nice! Hans flashed before her eyes for a second causing her to shiver. Elsa didn't want to really question Anna about it but she would have to eventually. Her sister liked girls and that wasn't a problem with her at all since she too fancied the company of a woman than a man. Men tended to scare Elsa for multiple reasons. However this was about Anna and Elsa was very interested in learning more about her journey and what exactly it would be like.
Knock knock
"Come in!" Elsa said looking over as the door opened. "Took you long enough."
"Yeah yeah." Anna laughed and shut the door behind her. "You know me! I'm already clumsy but add some wine in there and WHOA!"
Anna crossed the room her pink and green nightgown fell down past her knee and she climbed up onto the bed. Crawling under the blankets she pulled up to her chest and nuzzled down into the pillows. Elsa looked down at her and let their eyes meet for a moment. Anna was glowing. Her eyes were so big and full of life and light. She had a goofy little smile on her face and her hair was combed and tame framing her face. It wouldn't be like that in the morning! Her hair had a mind of its own once the sun rose. However she seemed to be a little jittery. Wine? The room wasn't that cold. In fact there wasn't any frost anywhere! Anna melted it the moment she stepped inside the room and Elsa felt the love in her heart.
"Elsa?"
"Yeah?"
"Don't leave me." Anna's voice was soft. Elsa caught the look in her eye. "I mean it! You aren't going anywhere!" Anna pushed herself up to a sitting position and put her fists up. "I'll fight! I'll wrap you up!" She quickly wrapped her arms around Elsa. "And I'll toss you in a potato sack and make you listen to my horrid singing if you threaten to leave!" Elsa just laughed into Anna's shoulder. "I mean it!"
"I don't doubt it." Elsa laughed softly.
"It's a promise!" Anna pulled away gently and then dropped her voice as she got a little serious. "I don't wanna be alone."
"Aw Anna you wont be alone." Elsa took her hand. "You will never be alone. I'll be here."
"Promise me?"
"I promise." Elsa gave her a reassuring smile and squeezed her hand tightly. "I'll never leave you." Anna seemed pleased with those words as she nodded her head and squeezed her hand back. A silence fell over them for a second and Anna scooted a little closer where their shoulders were touching. Their fingers were still laced together and Elsa's eyes were slowly getting heavy. The amount of magic used today mixed with the walking and the wine! It was starting to wear on here and she fought to keep her eyes open. She heard Anna's voice but didn't catch exactly what she had said. "What?"
"What what?" Anna looked over at her. "I didn't say anything. Just muttering to myself." However the look in Anna's eyes was telling a little bit of a different story. "I just... wanted to let you know that..." Pause. "That you know..." Another pause. "You're the best you know that?" Elsa gave a tired soft smile. "You're wonderful..."
"So are you." She mumbled softly resting her head against Anna's shoulder.
"I love you."
"I love you too." Elsa's eyes finally closed and she felt Anna's hand grip even tighter on hers and with that she drifted off to a slumber with Anna at her side.
