Undercover operation
Chapter 48th
The pain was wrecking Gibbs's body. There was a point he won't be able to take anymore until his heart gives out on him. Alejandro Riveria had been enjoying himself after giving his prey the news about his friend Phil Collins now dead blown away.
Riveria once again used the electrodes. To have Special Agent Gibbs raised off the table before passing out from the enormous pain wracking his body.
Taking hold of the smelling salts sitting on the table behind him. Riveria placed them under his nose to wake his prey just like Hernandez used to say to Gibbs in Paraguay.
This was going to be the final straw for Special Agent Gibbs. He was going to give himself to the devil finally with Alejandro Riveria watching Gibbs face grimacing with the pain trying to control himself.
ENTERING THE WHITE TUNNEL ON THE VERGE...
He had found himself sitting at the damn table once again waiting for someone to show up. He was getting annoyed as to why God or even the devil wasn't taking him. He wanted this over now!
Moments later Mike Franks shows up. "Well, probie! What do you have to say for yourself?" he said with shaking his hand.
"I am dying Mike and they won't let me go altogether?" he cried out with his pleading.
"Come off it probie you're not going to die. Help is going to be arriving soon and they will be able to save you once again," he said with sarcasm.
"Mike what is that supposed to mean?" Gibbs was livid with the question.
"All of your life you're been fighting an inner battle with yourself and you need to stop it before you actually kill yourself," Mike exclaimed with his comments.
"Jesus H. Christ Mike I am who I am inside and out. I can't change it no matter who tries and this includes my wife Loriele." he says with extreme anguish.
"Loreile is the best damn thing that has ever happened to you probie." he moved to sit down at the table.
"What is going to happen to me once I am rescued. Will I be able to live a normal life again to the best of my abilities?" Gibbs needed to ask the strange question for a dead man to answer.
"What do you consider normal to be Jethro?" he called him this time with his middle name.
"I am looking to stay happy with my wife, children even though Loreile is on the verge of having our third child of all things after four years of marriage. I would have never thought that we both would be that fertile in the sac," he smirks.
"You're always thinking with your penis Probie when you're going to be needing your brain power instead?" Mike had to point out in order to survive in the land of the living. Get yourself together to be ready to wake even though you will suffer from the pain?" he cried out towards his friend.
"I can't! I have suffered enough Mike just like you did when that serial killer stabbed you in the street. I wasn't able to cope with needing to find answers." Gibbs said with a choke on his words.
"And what answers were you looking for?" he said with moving around to make Gibbs's head hurt feeling dizzy.
"Answers Mike. Like now why I had to get myself caught by Alejandro Riveria after all of these years of playing cat and mouse."
"I just can't believe this probie on just how weak you've become with your choices and now landing you in the hot seat with this Cartel leader getting the best of you? Just like what Jose Juan Hernandez had done to you in Paraguay?" he spitted out with his comments.
"Shut up Mike! I don't wish to hear any more from you?" he cries out with the response before being pulled back to his own body and someone talking to him.
It wasn't Alejandro Riveria but rather Director Leon Vance calling out to him with one of the EMT'S telling him that he was waking.
"Gibbs, do you hear me? You're going to be taken to the hospital?" Vance replied with a face mask being put over the agent's face. "Where is Riveria?" he motioned out with his response filled with pain throughout his entire body.
"Dead. He didn't stop what he was doing with the electrodes when I fired as with the others to rescue you from this place. Thank god! I am glad he's dead." he exclaimed with his emotions trying to stay in check.
"We need to get him into the ambulance and the hospital." the medical technician needed to say with hooking the patients with all kinds of wires to keep Gibbs going, especially with his heart rate, blood pressure, blood, and the basic essentials.
Moving Gibbs onto the stretcher with everyone helping in order not to cause any further distress, Gibbs. Gibbs was breathing through the mask even though the pain was still high along with whatever damage was done to his body.
Director Leon Vance was angry on a number of levels once being upset at Gibbs for going alone to the Mission District. Among other things to add to the fury of his anger. Vance was watching the ambulance move off quickly to be heading for Bethesda hospital with the entire staff to be notified of what was going on with Special Agent Gibbs. Vance had asked Senior Field Agent to go along with Gibbs in case the technicians needed any further medical questions if they weren't able to get from the hospital.
McGee knew that Vance had his hands full with needing to contact Gibbs's wife in regard to his injuries caused by the Cartel leader.
