A few hours later with two hikers in the desert for exercise from the Sierra, Montana observatory not too far away from the Coppermine and warehouses.
Doctor Copeland and his younger Son Joel had been out in the desert for a little over an hour with their oxygen masks and water with them. Joel had looked up into the skies with the heat and humidity was the fact there were vultures flying over as if they were looking for a meal of sorts.
"Look Dad up in the sky heading for that location?" Joel cried out with his response.
Doctor Copeland wearing his goggles to see better with the burning sun and heat. "Yeah, I see them. Let's go to investigate it, Joel. Have your satellite phone made ready in case of trouble?" he posed the question to his son removing the satellite phone from his backpack on his back taking a moment.
They had begun to move a little bit quicker to the small cave with seeing some type of a body lying face down in a pool of blood.
"Take a look at that Dad?" Joel cried out moving over to the body with placing on his clear gloves.
"Be careful Joel!" he instructed.
Moving to be standing over the male body as Joel turns it over with gunshots to the head and chest. As the vultures had done a job of chewing on the back and legs.
Right away Joel takes the Satellite phone to hand it to his father to call the authorities and his associates at the observatory alerting them.
Placing in his code numbers to contact the local police. But in the meantime, Joel started to search for any type of evidence by staying away from the small cave not knowing just what might be inside it as with a bear.
Joel wasn't able to find a thing. Even though once the police and the other agencies arrive. They will be looking further...
Meanwhile, Gibbs and McGee had been meeting at the diner for dinner across from the Blue Ribbon motel. They had been listening to the satellite phone in the back of the diner having dinner with Gibbs munching on his usual Rye bye steak with the mushrooms, baked potato, and a salad while drinking a Budweiser beer that the diner serves.
McGee had been listening to the police ban when he heard the call about a body having to been found in the desert to be an NCIS undercover agent working for Sonata Industries.
"Gibbs, you know that comment you made to me earlier about the vultures and dead bodies?" McGee will tell him by taking a sip of his diet cola.
"Yeah, I do McGee! Why do you ask it with the question?" Gibbs prompted...
