Afar from the Station Square National Museum at night, someone was looking at it while upside down from a scope. The person then takes off the scope. The person revealed to be Rouge the Bat as she was hanging from a tree branch. Rouge smiles and then flies.
Rouge makes her way towards the Station Square National Museum.
At the Station Square National Museum, the building looked protected.
Inside the Station Square National Museum, the hallways were quiet and there were laser surveillance cameras monitoring the areas.
In a jewelry room, there was a Diamond in the middle of the room as it was shining on the spotlight with a glass tub and fence around it. The laser surveillance cameras were keeping a close eye on it.
Inside the security room, a night guard was reading a magazine while two others were playing a Blackjack. "I've got you this time..." the second night guard says, "Okay, let's see!" the third night guard says as he flips a card. "Blackjack!" the third night guard says before standing up and cheering. "Hooray! I won five times in a row!" The third night guard says, "Darn it! I lost again!" the second night guard says ias he puts his hands on his head, getting the first night guard's attention. "What, you lost again? You're so , who's hungry?" the first night guard asked before footsteps were heard on the monitor. "Huh? Hmm?" the first night guard asked as he saw Rouge going up to the Diamond in the middle of the jewelry room. "Hey!" the first night guard says as he stands up.
Back with Rouge, she jumps over the fence and the alarm blares as it goes off.
Back to the security room, this got the other two night guards attention. "What's that? What's going on?" the second night guard asked, "What's wrong?" the third night guard asked as they all look at the monitor. "How could anybody get in there?" The second night guard asked as they see Rouge place her hands against the glass.
Back with Rouge, she continues looking at the Diamond as it shines. "Ah" Rouge says before backing away and getting ready to kick the glass. "Hyah!" Rouge says as she does a few slice kicks against the glass. This caused the glass to be cut like a samurai sword would. The top half then falls down before Rouge takes the Diamond. "Hello, gorgeous" Rouge says.
Back in the security room, the night guards continued to watch. "Oh yeah? We'll lock down the place" the first night guard says before he presses a couple of buttons.
All the doors and windows closed everywhere in the Station Square National Museum.
Back in the security room, the night guards saw that everything was closed. "Now you're trapped, just like a rat in a cage" The first night guard says and chuckles as the other two shout and leave the room. "No, a bat" the first night guard says before he laughs and follows the other night guards.
In the hallways, the night-guards were running as they had sticks and guns in their hands.
Back in the jewelry room, the night guards entered and aimed their guns. "Hands in the air!" the second night guard says as Rouge was not in the room. "She's not here" The third night guard says off screen, "Where is she?" The second night guard asked off screen, "Darn it. Search over there" The first night guard says off screen, "Okay" The third night guard says off screen, "No one's there" The second night guard says off screen, "What?" The third night guard asked off screen before they searched the whole room. "Hmm?" the first night guard asked as he noticed a card was placed where the Diamond used to be. The first night guard then picked it up. ""Thank you"?" The first night guard asked as it shows a silhouette of Rouge with a heart on top and a scripted "Thank You" above the silhouette of Rouge. "What? Is this a gag?" the first night guard asked, "Oh" The other two night guards says as they look up. "Huh? Huh?" The first night guard asked as they noticed that the top glass of the roof was lifted.
Back outside of the Station Square National Museum, it was revealed that the roof glass was lifted by a crane. The night guards let out a scream in defeat off screen.
In Station Square with a big full moon out, Rouge was flying over Station Square with the Diamond in her hand. The Diamond continued to sparkle. "You may not be a Chaos Emerald, but you'll do, for now… I'm going to do whatever it takes to get a Chaos Emerald!" Rouge says as she continues flying over Station Square.

The next morning at the garage of the Thorndyke Mansion, the news was on in Chuck's room off screen. "I'm coming to you live from the National Museum where officials say that the world's largest diamond was stolen late last night" Scarlet says off screen.
In Chuck's room of the garage, Cream and Cheese were sitting on a bean bag chairs while watching the news. "Long-enforced authorities are baffled by the outbreak of precious gem robberies, but private sources tell SSTV that they believe this was merely the biggest in a series of jewel thefts that have plagued Station Square in recent days. This is Scarlet Garcia, SSTV News" Scarlet says off screen, "Sonic?" Amy asked off screen, getting Cream and Cheese's attention as they see Amy holding a plate of pizza in her hand as she entered the room. Amy then looks around the room. "Hey, Cream, have you seen Sonic?" Amy asked before going up to them. "The last time we saw him he was with Steven, Chris and Tails, but I'm not sure where they went" Cream says, "Chao!" Cheese says, "That's too bad. Hey, feel like having some pizza?" Amy asked, "Yes! Are you sure it's okay?" Cream asked, "You bet it is! Sonic's loss is your gain!" Amy says, "Yay!" Cream says, "Chao!" Cheese says as they stand up and cheer.
Above Station Square, the X-Tornado was flying with Tails and Chris inside in the first section, Steven inside the second section and Sonic was outside twirling a baseball in his hand. "Tails, you see anything down there?" Chris asked, "No" Tails says before tilts the joy stick. This caused the X-Tornado to move around a bit. "Oh!" Sonic says as he lost his balance. Steven saw this and gasped. "Sonic!" Steven says. Tails was then checking the radar map. "Nothing there" Tails says, "Don't worry. We're gonna find those Emeralds. And Sonic will help, right?" Chris asked as he turns around and sees the spot where Sonic and Steven who was looking around to find Sonic. "Uh, Sonic! Uh, wh- where are you?" Chris asked as he looks around. At the bottom of the X-Tornado, Sonic was hanging upside down with his eyes closed. Steven looks down and finds Sonic hanging on. "Sonic's hanging upside down the X-Tornado" Steven says, getting Chris and Tails' attention. "Oops" Tails says as he and Chris laugh nervously. "We'll help him after we drop Chris off to school" Tails says, "Okay" Steven says as he continues to watch Sonic hanging on, making sure he doesn't fall off.
At the White House, birds chirped off screen.
In the President's Office of the White House, the President was having a meeting with Jerome, the Director of Central Intelligence, a Chairman and another man. "Something has to be done, gentlemen. We must take action, Eggman is a threat to our nation's security. We've no choice but to launch an attack" The President says, "Mr. President, I want to stop this Eggman as much as you do, but it's not so simple" The Chairman says, "I'm afraid the chairman is right, sir. After examining the remnants of one of Eggman's robots..." the man says.
A clip shows researchers from Area 99 examining the destroyed E-23 Missile Wrist. "...We've determined that his technical capabilities and military hardware far surpass our current weapon systems." the man says off screen.
Back to reality, they all continue to talk. "That may be so, but it doesn't change the fact that something must be done" Jerome says, "Would you consider asking Sonic to assist in this mission?" the Director of Central Intelligence asked, "Sonic?" the President asked, "Eggman's an unusual enemy, sir, and that calls for an unusual ally. With this in mind, sir, I think Sonic's got what it takes to get the best of him" the Director of Central Intelligence says before the President goes up to the window. "He just might be the only hope we have, Mr. President" the Director of Central Intelligence says off screen, "That's true, but how do we know we can even communicate with a hedgehog?" the President asked, "Our operatives have observed speaking to the young boy he's staying with. He understands the language" the Director of Central Intelligence says and the President thinks about before making the decision and turning his head towards the group. "Fine, then we'll do it" the President says, "Sir, I think you've made the right decision!" the Director of Central Intelligence says as they begin to come up with a setup.
Inside Chris' classroom of his Elementary School, the chalkboard had writing that said "THE ME "Things that I want"". The children were chattering and painting in class as Mr. Stewart was watching. Chris was painting a picture of a Chaos Emerald in red. "Hey, I bet that's that Chaos Emerald you and Sonic have been trying to find, right, Chris?" Frances asked, "Kinda!" Chris says, "It looks like that?" Danny asked as Mr. Stewart comes up from behind. "Let's keep the chatting to a minimum and focus on the painting" Mr. Stewart says, "Ah, right!" Chris and Danny say at the same time and get back into painting. "What's that you're painting, Chris?" Mr. Stewart asked, "Uh, an emerald" Chris says as Mr. Stewart gets curious. "But I thought all emeralds were supposed to be green" Mr. Stewart says, "Uh, You're right, funny! I'll just start over!" Chris says, "No, Chris. Your emerald can be any color you want it to be. Matter of fact, I heard a red emerald was found somewhere recently in around Silky Heights" Mr. Stewart says, "Whaa?" Chris asked as he gets up, causing the chair to fall and getting the other children's attention. "Huh?" a girl asked, "Oh!" another girl asked, "Ah, sorry" Chris says as he rubs the back of his head. "In fact, if I'm not mistaken, they found that emerald in an old dilapidated factory not too long ago" Mr. Stewart says as no one didn't notice Rouge hanging upside down from a tree outside.
Outside of Chris' Elementary School, Rouge heard everything Mr. Stewart said. "Hmm, who knows what interesting little tidbits you can pick up if you hang around long enough" Rouge says before flying away.
At the garden of the Thorndyke Mansion, Sonic, Steven and Chuck were in the yard as Steven was gonna do something different. There was a billboard standing and Steven was holding a few books and a pencil while sitting on a log. "Alright, Rookie. We're gonna do something different today for your training and Chuck is gonna help you on this" Sonic says, "Okay, what is it?" Steven asked, "Chuck is gonna be your teacher for learning" Sonic says, "That's right, Steven. We're gonna test your skills on intelligence. I've heard that back in your world you grew up without guidance for learning, is that correct?" Chuck asked, "Yes, Chuck" Steven says, "Well this is what we're gonna work on right now. Now I know you think you feel you can do simple things, but sometimes you have to remember that difficult tasks is pointless for you unless you know how to do it. I'm basically schooling you and that's gonna take serious brain power" Chuck says while pointing to his head. "Oh I see. Okay, sure" Steven says, "Alright, Chuck. He's all yours" Sonic says before running off. "Okay, Steven. We'll start with literature" Chuck says as he picks up a book and opens it. "Steven, please read from page 4 to 8" Chuck says, "Okay" Steven says as he picks up his book and opens it. "Page 4..." Steven says before he reaches page 4. Page 4 had a story and Steven began reading out loud. "Uh Poetry..." Steven says as he began reading the poetry story out loud.
Later on back outside of Chris' Elementary School, the school bell rung. Chris exited the school and ran with Danny following him. "Hey, Chris! Wait for me!" Danny says.
Back inside Chris' Elementary School, Mr. Stewart watches Chris and Danny leave. Mr. Stewart chuckles and takes a sip from his coffee.
Back at the yard of the Thorndyke Mansion, Steven and Chuck we're now doing math as Chuck wrote down a difficult math problem on the board. "Alright, Steven. This is one of the hardest math problems to solve. If you can solve it, then you pass today's teaching session" Chuck says off screen as Steven was looking at the math problem. After a few seconds, he stands up. "Alright, here we go" Steven says before walks up to the board and picks up a marker. Steven then started writing math on the board. For a few seconds, Steven was sweating a bit while Chuck watched in surprised as he saw how much math Steven was writing. After a few seconds, Steven underlines his answers before giving out a deep sigh. "That... Is correct! Congratulations, Steven! You did it!" Chuck says, "Really!?" Steven asked, "Yes! This math problem, the one I gave you is one of the most difficult math problems that even I couldn't solve. I don't know how you did it, but you proved to me that you really are smart" Chuck says, "Thanks, Chuck, it really took a lot of me on that one" Steven says, "Tell me, Steven, would you ever consider knowing how high your IQ is?" Chuck asked, "What's an IQ?" Steven asked, "An IQ is a measure of your ability to reason and solve problems. it reflects how well you do on a specific test as compared to other people of different age groups" Chuck says, "Oh. Well I'm not sure if it's high because I remember when I was cutting grass, I didn't exactly evened the grass out" Steven says, "Oh yes, that's right. Well maybe it's because you were rushing during training, but if you were given an ultimate test to prove how perfect your score is, then we'll see what IQ level your on" Chuck says, "Oh okay then. Sounds like a plan then. Huh?" Steven asked as he and Chuck heard footsteps off screen. Steven and Chuck turn to see Danny and Chris going to the garage. "Looks like Chris brought a friend over" Steven says, "Seems to be. Go and introduce yourself with the others. Good job today" Chuck says, "Okay, thanks again, Chuck" Steven says before running off.
Back at the the garage, Danny was talking off screen. "Hi, I'm Danny. Nice to meet you" Danny says off screen.
Back in Chuck's room of the garage, Chris was introducing Danny to Amy, Tails and Steven while Danny was shaking hands with Amy. "Hi, there, I'm Amy! This is my friend, Tails" Amy says, "Hi!" Tails says, ''Hey!" Danny says, "Hi, I'm Steven" Steven says as he offered a handshake and Danny accepts it as they shook hands. "Hey I remember you. You're the other Hedgehog I saw back at school when Dr. Eggman and his robot kept us in" Danny says, "Yep. That was me. Helping Sonic save you all from Dr. Eggman" Steven says as he chuckled a bit. "I also saw you and everyone else at that baseball game back at Diamond Stadium on TV. You were awesome out there!" Danny says and Steven chuckles again. "Well I don't like to brag, but thanks. But I couldn't have done it without the support from my team and everybody else" Steven says off screen, causing Tails and Amy to smile. Chris then looks around. "Uh, where's Sonic?" Chris asked, "Sonic left already, and it's about time we head out, too" Tails says.
Back outside, Chris, Danny, Amy and Tails were sitting inside the X-Tornado. Steven was holding his map as he was talking to Tails. "I'll try to catch up to guys on the way there" Steven says, "Okay" Tails says "Be careful!" Amy and Chris said at the same time, "I will!" Steven says before he activated his grapple gun and left the Thorndyke property. The X-Tornado was then about to take off as the jet engine revs. The X Tornado then runs on the runway. "Let's take off!" Tails says as the X Tornado flies in the sky, causing the palm trees to be blown.
In Station Square, Sonic was running through the streets.
At Silky Heights, Sonic runs through the town before he stops to an arrow. "Hmm" Sonic says as the sign said "Factory" with the arrow pointing right. "That way... Huh?" Sonic asked as he looks up to see the X-Tornado flying towards him.
Inside the X Tornado, Danny was excited. "All right! Yeah, this is the coolest thing ever!" Danny says, "Okay, cool it. Will you, Danny?" Chris asked while Amy and Tails watch them from behind. Amy then turns her head forward as she noticed something. "Look! There's Sonic!" Amy says and Tails turns his head forward. Tails and Amy saw Sonic waving at the from the ground before Sonic ran in the left path.
The X-Tornado flies low and follows Sonic, causing the wind to blow against the trees and the sign. After a few seconds, the wind stopped, the arrow sign that was pointing right fell down and broke. Rouge suddenly came out of the bushes. "Hah! They fell for it!" Rouge says before she flies off in the other direction. After another few seconds, Steven arrived and stopped in front of the sign. "Okay, here's the fork in the road. Huh?" Steven asked as he noticed the fallen arrow. Steven then picks it up. "This must be the arrow. It looks a bit broken on the tip. Guess I'll just put it back, but first..." Steven says before he pulls out the map. "Let's see where the factory is..." Steven says as he looks at the map. "Hmm... The map shows the factory is... That way" Steven says as he pointed to the left. "On the left" Steven says off screen before he rolls up the map. "Sonic and the others are probably almost there..." Steven says before picking up the broken arrow sign. "So I better catch up to them..." Steven says as he places the broke arrow sign back to the factory sign pointing left. "Before someone else does" Steven says before he runs on the left path.
Back with Rouge, she kept flying in the sky. Rouge then gasped as she saw a gate. Rouge drops down on the ground and saw the abandoned factory. there was a "Keep Out" sign on the gate. "That's it! Now, to see if I can find another emerald" Rouge says before she flies up.
Inside the abandoned factory, Rouge jumps up to a broken window. "Hmm" Rouge says as she looks around the place.
Back with Steven, he continued running on the path. "Okay, the factory should be around here somewhere..." Steven says before he notices the abandoned factory and gate up ahead. "There it is!" Steven says before he stopped at the gate entrance. "Now then. Time to... Huh?... Wait a minute..." Steven says as he looks around the area. "Where are Sonic and the others. Did they already find the Chaos Emerald and left?" Steven asked off screen. Steven then saw the Keep Out sign. "Hold on. If they were here, this gate would have been opened while this sign would be taken down. And the front doors look like they haven't been opened at all. So then... Where did they go...?" Steven asked as he looks back to the path he came from and back to the abandoned factory's gate. "Oh well. Since I'm already here, I might as well look for the Chaos Emerald now" Steven says before he went close to the gate. Steven tried to open the gate, but it was locked. "Locked" Steven says and looked around. Steven then looked above him. "What a second. I could just jump over the fence" Steven says before he jumps over the gate and onto the other side. "Huh. That was easy" Steven says as he made his way to the front entrance. Steven then tried to get the door open, but couldn't. "Great. What am I gonna do now?" Steven asked as he looked around again. "Hmm..." Steven says as he saw the broken glass windows.
Back inside the abandoned factory, Steven jumps up to the broken window. Steven gets a view of the inside before landing on the ground. Steven saw how deserted the inside looked and how dark it was. "This place sure could use some cleaning" Steven says before he walks around the factory. Steven started looking through a pile of boxes and cylinders for the Chaos Emerald. "Nope. Nothing here. Huh?" Steven asked as he noticed something. "Huh? What is that?" Steven asked as he saw a spotlight shining from the broken ceiling. Back with Rouge, she was walking around the abandoned factory on the upper level before noticing a shining object on the ground where the spotlight was hitting. Back with Steven, he made his way down to the lower level and saw the same shining object on the ground. "Whatever that is, it's really bright" Steven says as he runs up to it. What Steven didn't notice was that Rouge dropped down from the upper level and this caused both of them to bumped into each other with yelps. Steven and Rouge both groaned while rubbing their heads. "Ow... Huh?" Steven asked as he regained his vision back and saw Rouge. Rouge regained her vision back and she saw Steven. They both looked at each other in shock before they let out screams and quickly get up. "Who are you!? What are you doing here!?" Steven and Rouge asked at the same time. "Okay. First off, stop repeating everything I asked. Second, none of your business is my answer to those two questions. And third, I'm the one that suppose to ask you those questions" Rouge says, "Hey, hey. Calm down. I don't want any trouble. Please" Steven says while backing away a bit before sighing. "Okay, I'm sorry if I startled you a bit. My name's Steven" Steven says as he offered a hand shake. "Steven, huh?" Rouge asked while crossing her arms. "Yep. Steven the Hedgehog" Steven says, "Rouge. Rouge the Bat" Rouge says, "Rouge the Bat. Okay, now that we got introductions out of the way, I'm guessing you're still not gonna tell me what you're doing here, right?" Steven asked as he smiled nervously. "That's right and like I said, I'm the one that's suppose to ask you that. Now what are you doing here?" Rouge asked "Well I'm not sure if I should tell you what it is exactly, but I'm looking for something very important in here" Steven says, "Really? Does this important item have to do with a gem called a Chaos Emerald?" Rouge asked, causing Steven to look surprise. "Uh..." Steven says, "I thought so" Rouge says, "How did you know?" Steven asked, "I know everything. I'm a specialist when it comes to jewelry including Chaos Emeralds. So I'm sorry to say this, but you can't have it" Rouge says, "What? Why not?" Steven asked, "Because that Chaos Emerald is mine whether you like it or not. So why don't you just act like you didn't see anything and beat it" Rouge says, "But I really need that Chaos Emerald so me and my friends can return back to our home world" Steven says, "Friends? Wait. By friends, do you mean Sonic and his friends?" Rouge asked, "Yes, actually" Steven says, "Well you can tell Sonic that there has been a change in plans" Rouge says as she turns away from Steven. "What do you mean "Change in plans"?" Steven asked, "He'll have to wait his turn to have the Chaos Emerald" Rouge says, "Wait his turn? Aren't you friends with him?" Steven asked, "I wouldn't say friends, more like acquaintances" Rouge says, "Acquaintances?" Steven asked, "Jeez. You like to ask a lot of questions, don't you?" Rouge asked while turning her head a bit. "I'm just curious. That's all" Steven says while raising his hands up. "Whatever. Look, I don't know why I'm wasting my time with you, but I don't have time for this. Just go back to wherever you came from and tell Sonic you didn't find anything here" Rouge says, "But I really need that Chaos Emerald. You know since your from our world too, you probably want to go back home too" Steven says, "As long as I can get a hold of any jewelry from anywhere, then that's good enough for me to call a place home" Rouge says, "So does that mean...?" Steven asked, "I don't care too much about going back to my home world" Rouge says, causing Steven to sigh again. "Come on, Rouge. Can't we talk this through? Sonic and the others really need to return back home, but they won't if you keep the Chaos Emerald all to yourself. So please. If there's anything you want and I mean anything, I'll do anything to give it to you" Steven says off screen. "Oh. Hmm..." Rouge says as she thinks. After a few seconds, Rouge turns back to Steven. "You'll do anything I ask?" Rouge asked, "Anything that involves getting the Chaos Emerald. Yeah" Steven says. After a few seconds, Rouge smiles a bit. "Okay, kid. How about this, if you help me look for the Chaos Emerald, I'll give it to you" Rouge says, "Really? Great-" Steven says before he was cut off. "But. You have to give me something in return because I'm not exactly cheap when it comes to these offers" Rouge says, "Oh. Okay, then. What do you like exactly?" Steven asked, "I like anything that has to do with jewelry" Rouge says, "Well... I'm not sure how I can get a hold of any jewelry right now, but we can start off with..." Steven says as he looked around. Steven then spotted the small glass ball that was shining from the window spotlight. Steven goes up to the small glass ball and picks it up. "We can start off with something small" Steven says as he showed it to Rouge. "Well, what's this?" Rouge asked, "It looks like a..." Steven says as he looks at the small glass ball closely. "Glass ball..." Steven says and he chuckles nervously while Rouge didn't looked pleased. Then suddenly, a few lights light up, causing Rouge and Steven to shield their eyes a bit. After all the lights were pointing at Steven and Rouge, Rouge looks to her right as she saw who turned the lights on. Steven then slowly opens his eyes. "Ugh. Huh?" Steven asked as he and Rouge see soldiers that were from a special military called G.U.N. The G.U.N soldiers pointing their guns at Steven and Rouge. Steven got scared and puts his hands up in the air. "My, my. Trying to trap me?" Rouge asked while putting her hands on her hips. "Don't make a move!" a female G.U.N agent named Topaz says as she and another G.U.N soldier get closer to Rouge and Steven. "Whatever you like!" Rouge says while putting her hands up. Topaz and the other G.U.N soldier take out handcuffs before grabbing Rouge's and Steven's hand. The G.U.N soldier handcuffed Steven with Steven still scared. "I guess YOU"RE into S&M, huh?" Rouge asked, "What?" Topaz asked while blushing and the other G.U.N soldiers laugh. Topaz then gets angry. "What are you clowns laughing at? Commander!" Topaz says, "Huh? Oh, umm... I'm sorry" The G.U.N Commander says before letting out a cough, causing the G.U.N soldiers to stop laughing and Topaz humphs. "I'm not going anywhere. Matter of fact, I kinda like being in the spotlight." Rouge says, "Forget the cuffs. Take the other ones off the Hedgehog" the G.U.N Commander says as he walks up to Rouge, Topaz and Steven while the other G.U.N soldier takes the other handcuffs off Steven. "Oh..." Steven says as he rubbed his wrists. "What's your name?" the G.U.N Commander asked, "I'm Rouge, that's Rouge the Bat" Rouge says, "Hey, I've seen you somewhere before. That's right! You're the one who snuck into the National Museum and stole that diamond, aren't you?" the G.U.N Commander asked, "Who me?" Rouge asked, "She stole a diamond from a National Museum? I'm surprised she didn't get caught then" Steven says in his head, "You!" the G.U.N Commander says off screen, startling Steven. "Huh? Who? Me?" Steven asked, "Yes. What's your name?" the G.U.N Commander asked, "Oh... Steven... Steven the Hedgehog, sir..." Steven says, "I know who you are, too. You're one of Sonic's friends that first arrived to Earth along with him. Is that correct?" the G.U.N Commander asked, "Umm... Yes... sir..." Steven says, "We set up a trap to catch Sonic, and who do we wind up with but a jewel thief and one of his friends? Funny how things work out that way!" the G.U.N Commander says, "Hmm" Rouge says in interest while Steven was nervous to know what was gonna happen to him now.

Back with Sonic, he was still running around Silky Heights while looking for the abandoned factory with the X-Tornado still following him from above.
Inside the X Tornado, Chris and Danny looked exhausted. "Man, I'm starving" Danny says, "Me too!" Chris says.
Back at the White House, the sky was also orange in the area.
Back inside the President's Office, the G.U.N Captain, Topaz, Steven and Rouge were inside with Topaz and the G.U.N Commander standing behind Steven and Rouge who were sitting on chairs while waiting for the President. "Boy, I could really go for a cup of coffee" Rouge says, "What? Listen, missy. This isn't a country club. You're in deep trouble and the President wants to have word with you and the Hedgehog" Topaz says, "Yeah, yeah, I know, so I've heard, but all I want is a cup of coffee. Don't be such a nag!" Rouge says, "A what? A nag, huh?" Topaz asked as she blushes while Steven was trying so hard not to laugh or chuckle. "Hey, get her a coffee, Topaz" The G.U.N Commander says, "Hmph! Aye, aye!" Topaz says as she goes up to a table that had the coffee maker and started preparing it. "She doesn't deserve it if you ask me!" Topaz says as she pours the coffee in a coffee cup. "My, my. Topaz, eh? Isn't that the name of a gem?" Rouge asked before the door opens to reveal the President, Jerome and the Director of Central Intelligence before they walk in. "Huh? Ow!" Topaz says as she saw them and didn't notice that she poured coffee on her hand. This caused Topaz to spill the coffee and the coffee cup on the floor. The President then sits down on his desk and the Director of Central Intelligence and Jerome stand next to him. The President then clears his throat. "Case of the jitters, Topaz?" The President asked while Topaz was cleaning the mess. "I- I'm sorry, Mr. President, sir" Topaz says, "So, you're Rouge and Steven" Jerome says, "Hi!" Rouge says as she waves. "Um... Hello, everyone..." Steven says as he waves a bit. "Well, Rouge, you seemed pretty relaxed for someone on the FBI's most wanted list" Jerome says, "Uh-huh" Rouge says, "As for you, Steven, I imagine you must be wondering why we've brought you here today" Jerome says, "Yes, sir..." Steven says, "Listen, Steven and Rouge. We'd like to make both of you a deal" the Director of Central Intelligence says, causing Rouge to give an un-amused look while Steven look surprised. "A deal, huh?" Rouge asked, "What deal?" Steven asked, "We are willing to offer you complete immunity from all your chargers in regards to the crimes to the jewel heists, Rouge. And for you, Steven, we are also willing to offer you, Sonic and the rest of your friends official citizenship of planet Earth. That is, of course, if you decide to join our team" The President says, "Join your team? As what?" Rouge asked, "You'll work as an undercover agent for the president" the Director of Central Intelligence says, "What about me?" Steven asked, "Steven, we'd like for you to join the Army Special Forces to help put an end to Dr. Eggman's terrorism attacks" The Director of Central Intelligence says. This made Steven gasped a bit. "Me...? Join the Army against Dr. Eggman...? You all want me...?" Steven asked, "Yes" the Director of Central Intelligence says, "Whoa..." Steven says in shock, "Wow! Imagine me, a real-life secret agent! Tell me, why would you want a naughty little jewel thief like me on your team?" Rouge asked, "That is none of your business, young lady! Do we have a deal?" The President asked, "Umm…" Rouge says before smiling mischievously. "Who knows? Working as an agent I just might get closer to the Chaos Emeralds" Rouge says in her head. "Mr. Press, you got yourself a deal!" Rouge says, "Congratulations, agent! Welcome aboard" The President says as he stands up and offers a hand shake. Rouge then laughs before accepting the hand shake. Rouge then realized something. "Err, does this mean I can't keep my diamond?" Rouge asked while putting her hands on her hips and Topaz gave her a look. "Uh, oh, right. Well, what do you think?" the President asked, "Well, the case is still considered unsolved as long as she promises not to talk" Jerome says, "There you have it" The President says and Rouge smiles. "How about you, Steven? Do you also accept?" the President asked, "Mr. President, I understand that Dr. Eggman needs to be stopped, but I don't think it's best for you and your people to get involve with stopping him" Steven says, "How come?" the Director of Central Intelligence, "Because Dr. Eggman is someone you don't want to have battle with unless you know exactly what to do to win. I've seen Sonic stop Dr. Eggman so many times it's one of the reasons why he's known as the hero to our world. Sonic's more than capable to stop Dr. Eggman when he's ready and I feel I shouldn't worry about it too much" Steven says off screen. The President then sighs. "Steven, I understand what you're saying. We all do. We're all well aware of what both Sonic and Dr. Eggman are capable of. Which is why we can't wait any longer for them to strike again. We need to stop Dr. Eggman immediately. We can't let him continue terrorizing our citizens as he's also a threat to our nation's security. We need all the help we can get and it's the reason why we had this setup to have Sonic join us as well. But unfortunately the plan didn't go as we planned. So right now, you're one of our only hopes to stop Dr. Eggman. It has be done as soon as possible. I apologize, Steven, but it's either this or we'll have no choice but to surrender under Dr. Eggman forever" the President says off screen while Steven looked as if he didn't know what to do anymore. "What is your decision, Steven?" the Director of Central Intelligence asked as Steven was still not sure. "Please, Steven. We'd really appreciate all the help you can give us if you join us. I promise you this will be all worth it afterwards" The President says, "This was not how I wanted my day to end. First I was being home-schooled, then I was supposed to help look for the Chaos Emerald, but all of a sudden, I meet someone at the abandoned factory where the setup took place, and now I'm being offered a position that I don't think there's a way out of. I wished I'd just stayed back and did more training..." Steven says before he looks up to see the President's, Jerome's, the Director of Central Intelligence's, Topaz and the G.U.N Captain's faces as they waited for an answer. Steven saw how desperate they want his help before looking at his hands as he thinks deeper. "But... Still... The President does have a point. Dr. Eggman can't continue putting more innocent lives in danger. So he does have to be stopped once and for all. They also said that if I join them, me, Sonic and the others will be treated as regular citizens in this world. It can make things a lot more easier for all of us and we don't have to hide from the public anymore. I can also use this to my advantage from the training I've been doing and put it to the ultimate test. If possible, I can try and get the Cyan Chaos Emerald that Dr. Eggman stole from us back at Diamond Stadium and find something to replace the Chaos Emerald for Rouge. So if I can get through whatever's coming at me, I can finally prove to myself that I can take care and handle myself like Sonic does... Like a hero... Okay then. Here I go. I just hope Sonic would understand when I tell him after this is over..." Steven says in his head before he stands up from his chair. "Mr. President... I accept your offer" Steven says as he offered a handshake. This caused the President, Jerome and the Director of Central Intelligence to smile. "Thank you, Steven. We're all counting on you" The President says as they shook hands. "Topaz, Commander, they're in your hands now" the Director of Central Intelligence says, "Thank you" Topaz says as she salutes. "You two, come with me and we'll explain the plan" The G.U.N Commander says as he and Topaz lead Steven and Rouge out of the President's room. "Here we go..."Steven says as he did his best to stay confident.
Back to the same spot where the sign for the abandoned factory was in Silky Heights, Sonic saw the arrow that was now pointing left. "Hmm. Hmm" Sonic says while looking around. "I'll have to take my chances" Sonic says before running the other way with the X-Tornado following him again.
In the skies at nighttime, a Military Transport Aircraft was flying through the clouds.
Inside the Military Transport Aircraft, there were a few G.U.N soldiers inside sitting down. Across from them was the G.U.N Commander, Steven, Rouge and Topaz were also sitting down with the G.U.N Commander and Topaz putting devices on Steven and Rouge's arm. Steven was also wearing a parachute on his back and had goggles above his head. Steven and Rouge then look at the devices on their arms. "What's this thing?" Rouge asked, "That is a bomb" The G.U.N Commander says, "A bomb?" Rouge asked while Steven looked nervous. The G.U.N Commander then shows Rouge the remote for the bombs. "If we push the button on this remote control here, it's bye-bye batty. See, we don't exactly trust you, so you be a good little girl and maybe we won't have to use it. That goes for you too, Steven. So you be on your best behavior as well" The G.U.N Commander says, "Yes, sir" Steven says as he kept his eyes on the device. "Huh!" Rouge says while Topaz was buckling her helmet. "Just think of it as a bracelet" Topaz says, "A bracelet that explodes?" Rouge asked, "It's supposed to be functional, not fashionable!" Topaz says, "Looks like something an old lady would wear!" Rouge says, causing Topaz to gasp a bit while Steven covered his mouth to prevent himself from chuckling or laughing. "Why don't you try it on?" Rouge asked, causing Topaz to get mad and blush. "What does that mean?" Topaz asked.
Back outside the Military Transport Aircraft, it was getting close towards the island where Dr. Eggman's Fortress is. "Just what you think it does, grandma!" Rouge says off screen, "Can I push the button already?" Topaz asked off screen, "Ladies, please!" The G.U.N Commander says off screen, "Something tells me those two are gonna get along just fine..."Steven says and chuckles in his head off screen.
Back inside the Military Transport Aircraft, the Pilot was about to notify the G.U.N Team. "Approaching drop point, Commander! Straight ahead!" The pilot says as the G.U.N Commander, Topaz and the other G.U.N soldiers had their rifles ready. "Yep! Roger! Get ready!" The G.U.N Commander says.
Back outside the Military Transport Aircraft, the hatchet opens and Topaz, the G.U.N Captain along with the other G.U.N soldiers sky dive a bit before pulling their parachutes up. They then descended downwards.
Back inside the Military Transport Aircraft, Steven attaches his goggles on before looking down at how far the drop is. "Whoa... That's a long drop..." Steven says. Rouge then goes next to him. "Well? What are you waiting for? They're gonna get nasty if we wait. We'd better get a move on or unless you're too scared" Rouge says, causing Steven to look surprised before chuckling. "Me? Scared? Just watch me! Let's do this! Woo hoo!" Steven says before he jumps out and laughs. Rouge gasped before she jumps out.
Back in the skies, Rouge opened her wings and descended towards Steven who was laughing while skydiving. "Alright!" Steven says while laughing. "Hold on! You're not scared!?" Rouge asked, "Nope! Not anymore that is!" Steven says before pulling his parachute cord. Steven's parachute popped out and Steven grabbed on the handles. Steven and Rouge then descended towards the ground. "Now this is awesome!" Steven says before Rouge glides next to Steven. "Okay, for the way you're behaving right now, makes me wonder where exactly you came from" Rouge says, "Where I came from? I came from a place where a someone like me has a big dream to becoming the best thing" Steven says, "And what's that?" Rouge asked, "A hero" Steven says, "A hero?" Rouge asked, "Yeah, you may not know this, but back then I couldn't do any of this, but ever since I came to this world, I've improved a lot than from back then!" Steven says, "Really?" Rouge asked, "Yep" Steven says, "Then you're possibly like someone that grew up by themselves or whatever like that" Rouge says, "Yeah, actually I have" Steven says off screen, "Huh!?" Rouge asked in shock before turning back towards Steven. "Look! We're almost on the ground. Get ready" Steven says as he saw how close they were towards the forest of the island of Dr. Eggman's Fortress. Rouge then looked back at Steven for a bit. "This kid is something else for sure..." Rouge says in her head before she and Steven were about to land.
Back outside of the abandoned factory, the X-Tornado was parked in the front.
Back inside of the abandoned factory, Sonic, Tails and Amy were looking around while Chris and Danny were standing and sleeping. "Huh. What is this place? It gives me the creeps. Well, now what? There's nothing here" Amy says as she shrugs her shoulders. "Something seems strange here, Sonic. Who would've moved that sign?" Tails asked, "Beats me" Sonic says while Chris and Danny snore and Danny lets out a yawn. "But more importantly, where's Steven?" Sonic asked. "Wasn't he with you, Sonic?" Amy asked, "I thought he was with you guys in the X-Tornado" Sonic says, "You don't think something happened to him, right guys?" Tails asked, "I hope not" Sonic says, "Maybe he got lost on the way looking for us and decided to head back on his own" Amy says, "Maybe..." Sonic says before they all started walking out.
Back outside of the abandoned factory, Tails and Amy were helping Chris and Danny back in the X-Tornado while Sonic was looking at the full moon in the sky. "Steven. Wherever you are, be careful out there..."Sonic says in his head.
At the forest area near Dr. Eggman's Fortress, The G.U.N Commander, Topaz, Steven, Rouge and the rest of the G.U.N Soldiers were observing the base with the G.U.N Commander looking through his binoculars. "So this is where Dr. Eggman's been hiding. His fortress looks a little crooked if you ask me..." Steven says in his head. "I don't see an entrance anywhere!" the G.U.N Commander says off screen while Rouge gives an annoyed look while having her hands on her hips. "Come on, where is it?" The G.U.N Commander asked, "Ugh, do I have to do everything?" Rouge asked before she snatches a rope from the G.U.N Commander. "Huh? Rouge!" Steven says and whispers loudly while Rouge flies up towards the tower Fortress. "Oh, yeah?" The G.U.N Commander asked as he takes the remote out and was about to press one of the buttons. Steven saw this and gasped a bit. "Wait, hold on! She could have possibly found an entrance" Steven says, "Hang on" Topaz says as she blocked the remote from the G.U.N Commander. "He may be right, follow me!" Topaz says as she, Steven and the rest of the G.U.N soldiers run forward. Rouge landed to the level that had a door on the tower Fortress. Rouge then clips the hook to the door handle. The G.U.N Commander, Topaz, Steven and the other G.U.N soldiers stop as they see Rouge drop the rope down to them. Rouge then gives them a thumbs up with Topaz giving one back to Rouge. Steven then sighs in relief. "Phew! Glad we're all on the same page again" Steven says in his head before giving Rouge a thumbs up too.
Inside Dr. Eggman's Fortress, the G.U.N Commander, Topaz, Steven, Rouge and the other G.U.N soldiers ran down a hallway. They stopped as they looked at another hallway on the right while there was a door labeled "E-17" on the left.. "Which way?" Steven asked as he looked around. "This way!" Rouge says as she was about to run straight, but was grabbed by the arm from the G.U.N Commander. "Hold on. Where are you going?" The G.U.N Commander asked, "Don't be so jumpy! You want me to help out or don't you?" Rouge asked, "No funny stuff?" The G.U.N Commander asked before he releases Rouge's arm. "I'm on your team now!" Rouge says, "All right, just checking" The G.U.N Commander says before pressing a button on a device he had on his belt. The device shows green sections indicating where they've traveled while the red section indicates their current location. "Oooh. Neat" Steven says as he looks at the screen. "Okay, let's move in!" The G.U.N Commander says off screen, "Lead the way, Rouge!" Steven says off screen. The G.U.N Commander, Topaz, Steven and the G.U.N Soldiers followed Rouge who was flying around the entire Tower Fortress. "Feels like we've been running in circles, but this running is giving me a good workout"Steven says in his head.
In the main room of Dr. Eggman's Fortress, Dr. Eggman was sleeping on his chair while snoring.
Back with Rouge, Steven, Topaz, the G.U.N Commander and the G.U.N soldiers, they stopped running as the G.U.N Commander looks at his device. The device showed the map was almost complete to the entire Tower Base in green while the red section blinked. "It looks like we've almost explored the entire tower" Steven says, "We don't have much farther! Now, if we could just find the Power Generator" The G.U.N Commander says, "Wherever that is..." Steven says as he looks around. "Any idea where that might be?" Topaz asked while turning to Rouge. "I guess I must've left my map at home!" Rouge says before Topaz looks at her watch. "Well, it's almost dawn. What do you think we should do, Commander?" Topaz asked while Steven looked shocked."Dawn!? We've been in here for hours then!?. It felt like minutes to me! I guess time flies when you're always moving. Oh boy. Sonic and the others must be wondering where I am. I hope they understand when I see them again..." Steven says in his head. "There's nothing else we can do, Topaz. We'll have to retreat and come up with something else" The G.U.N Commander says before he, Topaz and the other G.U.N soldiers ran while Steven and Rouge stand still. "Huh? But we can't give up just yet!" Steven says while Rouge noticed something. Rouge saw another hallway on her left. "Hmm" Rouge says while thinking. Steven noticed Rouge looking at something. "Rouge, what's up?" Steven asked, "I have a feeling there's something over in that direction" Rouge says as she pointed towards the direction. Steven looked to where Rouge was pointing. "Hmm..." Steven says, "Commander?" Rouge asked off screen, getting the G.U.N Commander's and Topaz's attention before stopping. "Huh?" The G.U.N Commander and Topaz asked. "Mind if I have myself a little look around?" Rouge asked while the G.U.N Commander goes up to her. "Are you kidding? How do I know I can trust you?" The G.U.N Commander asked, "You can! I'll be right back" Rouge says, "She's right, Commander. There's another hallway over there and it's possible we might find something from there. Don't worry, I'll go with her if you still don't trust her, but you can trust me. I promise you we won't won't cause any trouble" Steven says while Rouge looked surprised a bit and the G.U.N Commander still wasn't sure. "I'll go with them just in case" Topaz says as she steps up to Rouge and Steven while Rouge gives a blank look to Topaz. "Okay, the more the merrier" Steven says and Rouge scoffs. "Whatever" Rouge says while looking away. "All right then" The G.U.N Commander says as he gives the remote control to Topaz. Steven sighs quietly. "Remember, don't do anything reckless!" The G.U.N Commander says, "Yes, sir" Topaz and Steven said at the same time as they salute. "Aye, aye, sir!" Rouge says as she salutes, making while Topaz growl while Steven chuckles a bit.
Back outside of Dr. Eggman's Fortress, the G.U.N soldiers were climbing down ropes while the sky was slowly lighting up from the ocean.
Back inside Dr. Eggman's Fortress, Topaz, Rouge and Steven looked around and saw a door. They then go up to the door. Steven tried to open it, but couldn't. "Locked" Steven says before he turns back to Rouge and Topaz. "Then this could get messy. Especially for an old gal like you. You two watch out" Rouge says before she sliced the door with her kicks. his caused the door to crumble into pieces. Steven and Topaz then go up close to the entrance. "Wow. That was awesome" Steven says, "Thanks" Rouge says before they looked around the room.
The room revealed to be the same room that caused Chaos Control to happen in Green Hills. "Is this the power generator?" Topaz asked off screen, "No. This is more like a laboratory to me" Steven says off screen before Rouge sets her sights on the machine that had something glowing. It revealed that it was the Cyan Chaos Emerald. "My, my…!" Rouge says as she flies towards the machine. "Rouge, wait" Steven says as he also runs up to the machine. Steven gasped as he saw the Cyan Chaos Emerald. "The Cyan Chaos Emerald..." Steven says while Rouge's eyes glittered. "Well, hello! It's beautiful!" Rouge says, "Now we just have to find a way to get it without getting caught" Steven says. Then suddenly, a door opens quietly with no one noticing with something inside. Topaz walks towards Rouge and Steven while looking around. "I have the strangest feeling we're being watched" Topaz says. Then suddenly, a claw grabs Topaz. Topaz screams and got Rouge and Steven's attention as they turn around. "Wha?" Rouge asked before another claw was about to grab one of them. "Look out!" Steven says as he pushes Rouge out the way. and the claw hits the ground. Rouge flies up and Steven turns around and they see a robot named E-70 Noizi. Topaz grunted in pain from the claw's grip. "P-Please, help me, Guys!" Topaz says, "Topaz!" Steven says, "Hang in, girl! Steven, get Topaz free while I destroy this hunk of junk" Rouge says, "Sure!" Steven says before they ran and fly towards E-70 Noizi. E-70 Noizi activates a microphone to pop out. Steven then reached Topaz. "Hold on, Topaz" Steven says as he gets a good grip on the claw and tried to set Topaz free. "Screw Kick!" Rouge says as she gets in position and does a drill kick towards E-70 Noizi. But suddenly, the microphone let's out an alarm blare. This caused Rouge, Steven and Topaz to close their ears and scream in pain.
Back outside of Dr. Eggman's Fortress, the G.U.N Commander and the G.U.N soldiers also hear the alarm as they groan in pain. "What is that?" The G.U.N Commander asked.
Back in the main room of Dr. Eggman's Base, Dr. Eggman wakes up after he hears the alarm before falling off the chair and yelping. Dr. Eggman sits up and covers his right ear. "It must be intruders!" Dr. Eggman says.
Back in the laboratory room, Rouge dropped on her knee and Steven collapsed on the floor as the alarm continues blaring. "That sound, it hurts my ears" Rouge says, "My ears are ringing like crazy! Is this ultrasonic sound!?" Steven asked as he and Rouge stand up a bit. E-70 Noizi uses its other claw to turns the volume up and the alarm blasts the microphone and the speakers. "Noooo! I'm scared! Don't!" E-70 Noizi says as her words echoed with the ultrasonic sound. Rouge and Steven scream again before holding their ears in pain and collapsing a bit. "Did that robot just talk!?" Steven asked, "I can't take it! Help me, please!" Topaz says, "Save me!" E-70 Noizi says.
Back in the main room of Dr. Eggman's Fortress, Dr. Eggman stands up while covering his left ear. "That scream is coming from Noizi! Someone's trying to make off with my Chaos Emerald, and we can't have that now, can we? Go get them, Sneezer!" Dr. Eggman says off screen before pressing a button with a 14 on it. "Save me!" E-70 Noizi says off screen, "Gah! She's loud! Blast that infernal noise!" Dr. Eggman says as he leaves the room with his elevator platform.
Back in the laboratory room, E-70 Noizi's alarm continues on. "I'm scared! Nooooo!" E-70 Noizi says, "My ears are gonna permanently go deaf soon!" Steven says as he gripped his ears tightly. "I'll go insane! Huh?" Rouge asked as she looks to see an E-13 Guardbot come in along with an E-12 Behemoth and another robot named E-14 Sneezer. "Steven, Look out!" Rouge says off screen, "Huh!?" Steven asked as looked up to see E-13 Guardbot fire it's fire power at them. "Whoa!" Steven says as he and Rouge jump out the way from fire power and run. Steven took out his blaster weapon and fired at E-13 Guardbot while dodging it's fire power. Rouge runs around with E-14 Sneezer shooting it's missiles at her. This caused the missiles to fly all over the room with everything exploding. "Whoa!" Steven says as he got pushed back a bit. Topaz shields herself from the debris from the explosions. "Rouge! Steven!" Topaz says before she notices something. There was a hole on the floor that leads to the Power Generator. "The power generator!" Topaz says. Rouge walls jumps from a wall and was fonna try to attack E-70 Noizi again. "Screw Kick!" Rouge says and does another drill kick towards E-70 Noizi. E-70 Noizi turns up the volume, making the alarm go louder again. "I'm scared!" E-70 Noizi says. Rouge, Topaz and Steven scream in pain before Rouge falls on the floor. E-70 Noizi then side stepped a few times. "No! No! No! No!" E-70 Noizi says, "Gah! No matter what we do, this robot keeps getting louder!" Steven says while Rouge then stands back up. "I've had enough of this!" Rouge says before she notices E-13 Guardbot about to fire. "Steven, shoot that robot while I distract it!" Rouge says off screen while Steven picks up and his blaster weapon. "Okay!" Steven says before E-13 Guardbot fires at Rouge and Steven again before they jump out the way. Rouge performs a few backflips, making E-13 Guardbot fire at her. Steven takes the chance to fire at E-13 Guardbot while E-13 Guardbot was distracted. E-13 Guardbot felt the fire power as Steven's blaster weapon's fire power made a few burnt marks on it. E-13 Guardbot then turned to Steven. E-13 Guardrobot fired at Steven while Steven jumped out the way and the shots hit E-14 Sneezer. This caused E-14 Sneezer to shoot out electricity and fire its missiles everywhere. A missle hits E-12 Behemoth, causing it to explode. Another Missile fires at the machine with the Cyan Chaos Emerald inside. Steven and Rouge gasped before they look to see the machine destroyed in crumble. "The Cyan Chaos Emerald!" Steven says, "Oh, no. I've lost the Chaos Emerald" Rouge says before E-70 Noizi goes up to them and resumes his alarm blare. Rouge, Steven and Topaz scream and hold their ears in pain again. "No! I'm scared!" E-70 Noizi says, "What are we gonna do? I got a headache and my ears will explode any second now!" Steven says in his head, "All right, you're fooling with the wrong girl..." Rouge says before looking at the explosive device on her arm. "Wait, that's it!" Rouge says in her head before slicing the explosive bracelet off her arm. "I'm scared!" E-70 Noizi says off screen while Rouge holds the explosive device. Steven eventually gets up. "But I... I can't give up... Not yet..." Steven says before he saw what Rouge did. Steven tried to take his explosive device off, but it was attached on very well. "Rouge, get mine off!" Steven says off screen, getting Rouge's attention before jumping up. "Get ready!" Rouge says as she sliced the device off Steven's arm. "Yikes!" Steven says before Rouge took Steven's explosive bracelet. E-13 Guardbot fires at Rouge and Steven, but they dodge them by running. Rouge jumps and throws the bracelets inside the microphone. This caused the alarm's blare to slowly stop and for E-70 Noizi to make noises. E-70 Noizi checks the microphone with its claw. Rouge then lands back on the ground. "Topaz, push that button!" Rouge says. Topaz grabs the remote out of her pocket and presses the button on the remote control. The explosive bracelets self destruct and blows up the whole microphone. This caused E-70 Noizi to drop Topaz on the floor. E-70 Noizi then tumbles a bit with smoke coming out from the top. "Now's our chance!" Steven says, "Shoot it at the center, Steven!" Rouge says, "Okay!" Steven says.
Back in the hallways, Dr. Eggman was running in the halls. "Hut two three four. Hut two three four"Dr. Eggman says in his head before making a right turn.
Back in the laboratory room, Steven was firing at E-70 Noizi at the very center, causing burnt marks to appear on the center. "Finish it, Rouge!" Steven says before Rouge was about to do another screw kick. "Screw Kick!" Rouge says as she does another Drill Kick. Rouge then successfully broke through E-70 Noizi. Steven then looks towards the destruction where the machine had the Cyan Chaos Emerald. "I've gotta get that Cyan Chaos Emerald!" Steven says in his head. Rouge then goes up to Topaz and grabs her. "Hang on tight! Let's go, Steven!" Rouge says while Steven kept his eyes on the destruction area. "Steven, come on! We've gotta go!" Rouge says off screen, "Go! I'll catch up!" Steven says, "What!? Steven, quit messing around!" Rouge says, "Just go! I'll be fine!" Steven says, "Rouge, we've got to get out of here!" Topaz says as she and Rouge see sparks were flying out of E-70 Noizi. "Hurry! Go! Now!" Steven says off screen. After a few seconds, Rouge wasted no time but to fly her and Topaz out. "Be careful, Steven" Rouge says in her head as they make their way out the room. Steven then rushed through the debris to search for the Cyan Chaos Emerald. "Where is it? Where is it!?"Steven asked in his head.
Back in the hallways, Dr. Eggman continued running in the halls. "Hut two three four. Hut two three four"Dr. Eggman says in his head before he was about to enter the laboratory room, but suddenly, Rouge came flying out, almost knocking into Dr. Eggman. "Move it!" Rouge says as she and Topaz continue flying away while Dr. Eggman leaned against the wall. "Excuse me! I'm sorry, sir!" Dr. Eggman says before looking to the direction Rouge and Topaz went. "Huh? Who's that...?" Dr. Eggman asked.
Back in the laboratory room, Steven kept searching fast for the Cyan Chaos Emerald, but still couldn't find it. Steven then sighs. "Great. I've lost the Cyan Chaos Emerald. Who knows where that explosion sent it off to. What am I gonna do now...?" Steven asked before flashes started appearing from behind him. "Huh?" Steven asked as he looks behind to see E-70 Noizi was about to explode. Steven then sighs. "One thing's for sure is to get out of here!" Steven says before he runs out the laboratory.
Back in the hallways, Dr. Eggman looked back at the room. "Ooh!" Dr. Eggman says as he didn't notice Steven running out the laboratory room. "Excuse me!" Steven says as he continued running.
Back inside the laboratory room, E-70 Noizi continued shooting out sparks before exploding.
Back in the hallways, the explosion spreads out of the laboratory room, making Dr. Eggman scream with flames flying everywhere. Rouge and Topaz continued flying out of the Fortress.
Back outside, it was dawn and Rouge and Topaz flew out of the Fortress tower. "Where's Steven?" Topaz asked as she and Rouge look back at the Fortress Tower.
Back inside the Fortress Tower, Steven was running through the hallways with a wave of explosion following him from behind. Steven saw he was getting close to the exit. "Almost there..." Steven says in his head. Then suddenly, Steven's eyes got blurry and this caused him to tumble a bit. "Whoa! Aahh!" Steven says as he gets caught in the explosion wave.
Back outside, the explosion made its way outside with Rouge and Topaz shielding themselves a bit. "Steven!" Topaz says and Rouge looks back at the Fortress Tower. The G.U.N Commander and G.U.N soldiers saw all of it in in surprise. Then suddenly, Steven popped out of the explosion and was now falling towards the ground. Steven regains his vision a bit. "Ugh... Ahh!" Steven says before he uses his feet to try and stop himself from crashing. "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Gah!" Steven says.
Back at the forest near Dr. Eggman's Fortress, Steven hits a few branches from a tree and hits the ground. Steven groans before pieces of debris fall on the ground around him.
Back with Rouge and Topaz, they sigh in relief as they saw where Steven landed. "Rouge, I don't know how to thank you and Steven" Topaz says, "I do. Lose some weight!" Rouge says while turning her head forward and for Topaz to grumble.
Back inside Dr. Eggman's Fortress, Dr. Eggman was coughing as he looked fried. "Help, mommy...!" Dr. Eggman says.
Back outside of Dr. Eggman's Fortress, the sun was rising from the ocean with smoke coming out of the top of the Fortress and Topaz land to where the G.U.N Commander and G.U.N soldiers were. "Great job, you two. I didn't think you would pull through" the G.U.N Commander says, "Thank you, Commander" Topaz says as she salutes. "It was nothing a girl like me couldn't handle" Rouge says as she put her hands on her hips. The G.U.N Commander then noticed something. "Where's Steven?" the G.U.N Commander asked, "He stayed behind. I don't know why, but he told us to leave without him. We then saw him come out the explosion and he landed in the forest somewhere so he must be okay" Topaz says, "Whatever he was doing, it almost got him fried in the end" Rouge says, "Then we better go check to see if he's actually okay. Follow me" the G.U.N Commander says before they ran with Rouge flying.
Back at the forest near Dr. Eggman's Fortress, Rouge, Topaz, the G.U.N Commander and the G.U.N soldiers were looking for Steven all around. "Steven!" Topaz says, "Steven, where are you!?" the G.U.N Commander asked, "Where are you, kid..." Rouge says. Rouge then noticed Steven laying on the ground on her right. "I found him!" Rouge says, getting Topaz's, the G.U.N Commander's and the G.U.N soldiers' attention as they also looked on the right. Rouge, Topaz, and the G.U.N Commander went up to Steven and tried to wake him up. "Steven, are you alright?" Topaz asked, "Kid, are you with us?" the G.U.N Commander asked as he patted Steven's head a bit. "Come on, Steven. I know you're still there. Wake up" Rouge says. After a few seconds, Steven groans before opening his eyes a bit. "Oh... Huh?" Steven asked as his vision was a bit blurry. "Guess I had a bonus life..." Steven says before holding his head. "Steven, how do you feel?" Topaz asked, "I feel a little dizzy... What happened...?" Steven asked, "You got blasted into the forest after you escaped. You're really lucky you didn't get caught on fire" the G.U.N Commander says, "Really...?" Steven asked before looking at his empty hand. "The Cyan Chaos Emerald..."Steven says in his head before passing out. "Steven? Steven. Steven!" Rouge says as she shook Steven a bit. "What happened?" Topaz asked off screen, "He must have passed out from exhaustion. Let's get the Military Transport Aircraft over here and get out of here" the G.U.N Commander says off screen as Steven stood unconscious.
The Military Transport Aircraft arrived and the G.U.N soldiers were the first ones to go in. Topaz and Rouge helped Steven inside before the G.U.N entered as well. The Military Transport Aircraft then flew off the island.
Back inside the Military Transport Aircraft a few moments ago, Steven was laying down on a medic bed. Steven groans a bit before waking up. "Mmm! Huh? Ugh..." Steven says as he shields his eyes a bit from the light. Steven's vision cleared and he saw where he was laying. "Good, you're awake" Rouge says off screen, "Huh?" Steven asked before he looks to see Rouge sitting on a chair. "Rouge...? What happened...?" Steven asked as he sits up. "You passed out a little bit ago. We got you patched up and now w're back on the Military Transport Aircraft dropping you off back to where you're staying" Rouge says, "Oh... Okay, then... Did we succeed on the mission?" Steven asked, "We sure did. We're about to give the President the scoop once we head back. After that, then the planning for the real battle begins" Rouge says off screen while Steven was taking a sip of water. "The real battle...? That'll definitely be something" Steven says, "Uh huh. But enough about that, let's talk about you. How are you feeling right now?" Rouge asked, "I feel a little tired, but managing..." Steven says, "What happened to you exactly?" Rouge asked, "Well when I was escaping Dr. Eggman's Fortress, I tripped a bit and the explosion pushed me and outside. I lost my vision a bit before I noticed I was falling towards the trees. I tried to stop myself from falling, but that didn't work out. So I crashed into a couple of trees before crashing on the ground. That's the last thing I saw before you and everyone else came to me" Steven says, "Sounds about right to me, but I want to know why you wanted to stay behind from retreating" Rouge says, "Because I wanted to look for the Cyan Chaos Emerald and give it you" Steven says, making Rouge look surprised. "You were gonna give me the Chaos Emerald? Why?" Rouge asked, "Because I remember the deal we made back at the abandoned factory. That if we find the Chaos Emerald, you would give it to me if I gave you a piece of jewelry to replace it, but I didn't find any piece of jewelry. So I decided to let you have the Chaos Emerald for now until I find jewelry for you, but it's too late now. That Cyan Chaos Emerald is still at Dr. Eggman's Fortress and who knows what Dr. Eggman's gonna do with it now" Steven says. Rouge was a bit surprised before smiling a bit. "Hmm. You know what? Thank you, Steven, but don't worry about the deal anymore. The deal is off" Rouge says, "What? Are you sure?" Steven asked, "Uh huh. I changed my mind after everything we just went through. I have a feeling being a government spy won't be so bad after all" Rouge says, "Oh okay then" Steven says, "But what gave you the idea to give me the Chaos Emerald though?" Rouge asked, "Oh. Well I like to do whatever to help a friend out" Steven says, causing Rouge to look surprised again. "A friend? You consider me a friend?" Rouge asked, "Well, yeah. I mean at first you were a bit mean, but after I got to know you during this mission, you're not so bad after all. Even if you are a jewel thief like they say you are, your still someone anyone can rely on. Including me" Steven says, "Oh. That's nice of you to think that, Steven. I've never been considered a friend to anyone. Especially Sonic and his friends" Rouge says, "Really? Then I guess I'm the first" Steven says before he chuckles a bit. "Reminds me of when Sonic became my first friend since we've been here on Earth" Steven says, "Huh? You're first friend? You mean you didn't have friends before?" Rouge asked, "Nope. I was on my own back then in Green Hills. No parents, no friends, just me and my land. I've been surviving for so long before Chaos Control happened" Steven says, "If that's all true, how are you alive without support?" Rouge asked, "I ask myself the same thing and it's a mystery, but ever since I came to Earth with Sonic, I've improved a lot than what I was before. I've gone through so many places and experienced combat with Sonic and his friends. Because of that, I've been in training to become the next hero when the time comes. I've learned so much to improve my skills and I wanted to put them to the ultimate test. Which is to take down Dr. Eggman for good, but I couldn't" Steven says, "Why?" Rouge asked, "Because I was honestly scared. I wasn't prepared for it to happen so soon. I wasn't prepared for any of this today. Getting caught in an ambush, meeting the President, accepting a deal, and now going through all this. I thought I would be just fine, but I guess it's much easier said than done. And because of that, I couldn't even get the Cyan Chaos Emerald back" Steven says before he lets out a sigh. "All I really wanted from all this is for Sonic and the others to have freedom on Earth, but now it looks like that won't happen because of me" Steven says as he looks down on his bed. Rouge was surprised again before feeling a little bad for Steven. "Listen, Steven, I'm sorry first of all that you had to go through everything back then on your own. I really am" Rouge says, "It's okay, Rouge. It's not your fault" Steven says, "I know, but also, don't beat yourself up just because you think you didn't do too good today. I personally think you were a big help" Rouge says, "Really?" Steven asked, "Yeah, while we were dealing with Eggman's robots and saving Topaz, I couldn't have done all that without your help" Rouge and Steven thinks a bit. "Listen here, Steven. There's one thing everyone must have. It's a little thing called courage. It's the most important thing in any challenge you come across in a lifetime. If you're too scared of what might happen, then you've already lost. If you wanna win, you've got to have courage and a lack of it is your biggest weakness right now" Rouge says, "Huh?" Steven asked, "It can affect your progress on your training to become a hero. If you don't overcome it, you'll never be able to save anyone and yourself" Rouge says off screen before Steven felt bad for himself. "So I want you to do something for me, Steven" Rouge says, "What is it?" Steven asked, "While you're continuing your training, I want you to also do activates that can build up your courage. Because when the time comes, you're gonna need the courage to win the most challenging events in your life. I promise you that you won't have anything to fear after you build it up. So can you do that for me, Steven?" Rouge asked off screen as Steven looked at his hands. After a few seconds, Steven clenches his hands and puts a determine look on his face. "Alright, Rouge. I'll do it. When the time comes, I'll be fully prepared for the final battle with Dr. Eggman" Steven says, "Thank you, Steven. I know you can do this" Rouge says, "Yeah. So do I" Steven says. Then suddenly, a door opening was heard. "Huh?" Steven asked before he and Rouge see Topaz entering the room. "Oh good. You're awake, Steven. How do you feel?" Topaz asked as she went up to Steven. "I feel better than ever, Topaz. When you see me again, I'll be prepared for anything at anytime" Steven says before giving a wink towards Rouge. Rouge smiles and gives a wink back. "That's good. I just came to let you know that we're almost approaching the drop point to the home you're staying in so be ready in 5 minutes" Topaz says, "Okay. Thank you, Topaz" Steven says, "You're welcome" Topaz says before she leaves the room. After another few seconds, Steven sighs before getting up from the bed. "You're ready?" Rouge asked, "Yeah. Thanks for the talk, Rouge. I really appreciate your support" Steven says, "No problem, Steven" Rouge says, "If you don't have a place to stay, you're welcome to stay where I'm staying at. I'm sure Sonic and the others won't mind if I convince them" Steven says, "That's sweet, Steven, but that's okay. I might get a place of my own when the time comes" Rouge says, "Oh okay. If you say so, but you're welcome to visit anytime" Steven says, "I'll try" Rouge says.
Back outside of the Military Transport Aircraft, the Military Transport Aircraft was getting close towards the Thorndyke Mansion from afar the sky.
Back inside the Military Transport Aircraft, Steven had his parachute and his goggles as he was waiting while the G.U.N Commander was waiting for the word for the hatchet to open. Rouge, Topaz and the rest of the G.U.N soldiers were also sitting on their seats. "Thanks for your help out there, Steven. We don't know how we'll reach out to you, but just be ready by the time then, alright?" the G.U.N Commander asked, "Yes, Commander. I promise you I'll be prepared the next time you see me" Steven says, "Alright. Great" the G.U.N Commander says, "We're arriving at the landing point right now, Commander"the Pilot says from the radio off screen. "Roger that. Alright. Good luck, kid. We'll see you then" the G.U.N Commander says before running back to his seat while Steven puts his goggles on and readies his parachute. The hatchet opens, causing the wind to blow on everyones faces. Steven then turns his head towards everyone else. "Goodbye, everyone! I'll see you all on the flip side!" Steven says before he jumps out and laughs. The G.U.N Commander chuckled a bit. "He's one brave kid" the G.U.N Commander says, "He sure is" Topaz says, "Definitley" Rouge says.
Back in the skies, Steven skydived a bit before letting out his parachute. Steven then descended down towards the Thorndyke Mansion. Steven then looks back up to the Military Transport Aircraft he jumped out of. "I will have confidence and I will be the next hero"Steven says in his head as his motivation to become the next hero has given Steven a big push to keep getting better.
Back at Chris's Elementary School, Chris and Danny were sleeping in class while snoring. "Uh, Chris, Danny" Mr. Stewart says as he shook them a bit. This caused them to yelp in surprise. "The information was hoax!" Chris and Danny said at the same time and get up from their chairs. "Huh?" Mr. Stewart asked before the rest of the children look at them. "Uh, we're sorry" Chris and Danny said at the same time while smiling nervously. "Now, Chris... I get the feeling you and Danny didn't get enough sleep last night. It's okay to have adventures, just make sure to get to bed on time" Mr. Stewart says, making Chris look surprised. "Huh? But how did you know, sir?" Chris asked.
Back out of Chris' Elementary School, they continue talking off screen. "Just a wild guess" Mr. Stewart says off screen, "Thanks, Mr Stewart" Chris and Danny said at the same time before they and Mr. Stewart let out a laugh off screen before they officially begin the day.

Clips were playing from the next Chapter/Episode. "Hey! It's me, Steven the Hedgehog! As my push of motivation to work on my confidence began, Sonic decided to put me in an ultimate training session to prepare me to attack Dr. Eggman's base. Meanwhile, the President is now developing a plan to attack Dr. Eggman's base. As I finished my final training to prepare, it seems the President's intention was to have both me and Sonic join the fight, but failed with his assistance Jerome getting soaked by Ella. Sonic said he and the others will join me once the attack happens. As I was brought to the White House, I was told I was gonna be placed on the Ariel assault path while Rouge was leading a Special Forces Team to infiltrate the base from the same path like before. While the the attack was now happening, Tails, Amy, Chris and his friend Frances found the Yellow Chaos Emerald in a place called Tingling Villa, but we're now in a battle for it with Dr. Eggman and his robot. All I can do now is hope that Sonic can save Tails, Amy, Chris and Frances on time before Dr. Eggman returns to his base. We've gotta finish this with Dr. Eggman once and for all! Next time on Sonic X: Steven the Hedgehog! "Attack on the Eggman Base! (Part 1)" ("Beating Eggman, Part 1"). The real battle begins now!" Steven says off screen as the current Chapter/Episode ends.
