Sonic X: Steven the Hedgehog

Steven's life began as a survivor in Sonic's World. Throughout the early years, Steven's heard stories about the adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends, who he wanted to be like despite his own flaws. But one day, Chaos Control happens and this caused Steven to meet Sonic, his friends along with new friends who will guide him to be one of the greatest heroes in the world.

15. Episode 14

Gotta Go Fast (Sonic X Theme) by NateWantsToBattle

At the White House, it was a beautiful day today with birds chirping off screen.

Inside the President's Office, Jerome was reading one of the newspapers that shows an article of Dr. Eggman's Fortress being destroyed. "This is a great news, Mr. President... And it couldn't have come a better time! Now, you're sure to be reelected!" Jerome says off screen while the President looked worried. "I don't know about that..." the President says, "Huh?" Jerome asked, "I'm not the real hero of the story, look closer" the President says while pointing straight. "Huh?" Jerome asked before he looks back at one of the newspapers and sees a picture of Sonic. "What!? Sonic!?" Jerome asked off screen and gets a little angry while sweat dropping. Jerome then looks at the other newspaper and it showed a picture of Steven. "Steven!?" Jerome asked off screen. Jerome then looks at so many pages with pictures of Sonic and Steven. "Sonic, Steven... Sonic... Steven... SONIC AND STEVEN!?" Jerome asked while looking angry Jerome throws the newspapers and pulls out a TV remote and turns on the TV. The TV shows a slide show of Sonic in action and posing and Steven during the assault on Dr. Eggman's base. "Sonic!? Steven, Sonic... Steven... Sonic... Steven... Sonic... Steven... Everything is about them... They're on this one... And that one! They're there as well! Sonic and Steven! SONIC AND STEVEN!" Jerome says as he lets out a frustrating shout. Jerome then turns to the President. "If we don't act fast, sir, they'll elect Sonic President and Steven Vice-President! Or elect Steven President and Sonic Vice-President! Or worse! we'll have to have an election debate to see who will be President! You sir, Sonic or Steven as President!" Jerome says, "Huh, I'll have to find myself a real job" The President says while facepalming. Jerome growls and steps forward to the President's desk. "We've got to do something right away!" Jerome says, "Now, now, let's not overreact about this, just stay calm!" the President says and Jerome paces back and forth. "Think, think, there must be something we can do..." Jerome says before he stops. "Ah, that's it, I know!" Jerome says, "Hmm?" The President asked, "It's a brilliant idea! We'll host a black tie charity ball in celebration of our recent victory!" Jerome says, "Yes, but what does a victory celebration do to solve our Sonic and Steven problem?" the President asked, "We're going to make Sonic and Steven the guests of honor...! ...We'll invite the media, get in a couple of photo ops, that kind of thing!" Jerome says.

In Jerome's imagination, it shows the media taking pictures of the President shaking hands with Sonic and Steven in the President's Office. "It'll be in all the papers. All over the cable news talk shows" Jerome says off screen.

The President, Sonic and Steven then get in front of a newspaper article. "The President, Sonic and Steven..." Jerome says off screen.

A family watches all of it from four TVs. "...The dynamic trio battling together against the forces of oppression!" Jerome says off screen.

Back to reality, Jerome continues. "One the voters see that you, Sonic and Steven are buddies, you and the Vice-President's approval ratings will go through the roof! There's no way you two can lose! Your re-elections will be a sure thing! I'll have the staff get started. We'll make sure all television reporters get personal invitations to the free buffet tent" Jerome says before he leaves the room. "Hey!" the President says off screen before the doors close. The President then sighs in frustration.

Chase the Hero Steven! (That's What Friends Are For)

At the Thorndyke Mansion, it was a beautiful day. "I'm going out for just a little while" Sonic says off screen before he runs out the Thorndyke Mansion with a blue blur. Chris then walks outside with a letter in his hands. "Hey, Sonic, a letter came for you and Steven!" Chris says before Sonic jumped over the front gate and left. Chris then decides to look at the letter and reads it. "Ah, it's from the President!?" Chris asked before he goes inside.

In the living room of the Thorndyke Mansion, Chris goes back inside and showed Chuck the letter before reading it to everyone else. "You are cordially invited to a black tie charity ball... Hmm, sounds interesting" Chuck says, "It's addressed to Sonic and Steven, but it says right there they can bring as many friends as they want!" Chris says, "Well, then in that case, I say we dust off our best party duds and make it a day!" Chuck says, "Yeah!" Tails, Amy, Cream, Cheese and Chris said at the same time. "I bet they'll serve lots of yummy food there" Amy says.

In Amy's thoughts, a clip shows a buffet of delicious food. "I'm getting hungry just thinking about it" Amy says off screen.

Back to reality, Amy drooled a bit, making Tails seat drop. "Me too...!" Tails says before Sonic opens the living room door. "I'm back" Sonic says before Chris turns to Sonic. "Hey, Sonic!" Chris says before running up to Sonic. "Guess what... You won't believe it, the President's giving a party and you and Steven are invited!" Chris says, "We are?" Sonic asked and Chris nods his head. "And all of us get to go too. It'll be fun" Chris says, "When is this party?" Sonic asked, "On Thursday in 2 days..." Chris says, "Okay then, sure. I'll join" Sonic says, "That's great! Where's Steven? We've got to tell him about this" Chris says, "He's doing his daily exercise downstairs" Sonic says, "Then let's go get him" Chris says.

Downstairs in Steven's gym, Steven was doing Core exercise. Ever since Steven began advance training in his home gym, he made a schedule on a calendar on the wall to show what type of exercise he does for an hour each day. The order is Hiit, Yoga, Core, Strength, Treadmill, Cycling, Rowing, Dance, and Mindful Cool-down. Right now Steven was doing some Strength training as he lifted some weights. Sonic and Chris then entered the gym. "Well, somebody is getting a good work out" Sonic says off screen. "Huh?" Steven asked before looking to see Sonic and Chris before setting the wights down. Steven the grabs his water bottle takes a good chug at it before catching his breath. "Hey, guys..." Steven says as he wiped himself with his sweat towel and sat down on a chair. "How's it going...?" Steven asked, "Things are going well. How's your training going?" Chris asked, "Doing good. I'm starting small with weights right now for Strength training... Every time I see that Medal of Honor we earned... I want to try and push myself to be able to... Go higher to get... stronger and faster" Steven says before he chugs more water. "Well I like that motivation so keep it up" Sonic says as he patted Steven's back. "Thanks, Sonic... So what's going on?..." Steven asked, "It's amazing. You and Sonic received a party invitation from the President" Chris says as he showed Steven the letter. Steven then takes the letter and reads it. "The President invited us to a Charity Party to celebrate the victory of the destruction of Dr. Eggman's Fortress..." Steven says off screen as he read it. "Huh. First we were rewarded, now we're invited to a victory party" Steven says, "That's right. Turns out we get to invite all our friends" Sonic says, "You can go, right, Steven?" Chris asked, "When is the party?..." Steven asked before he takes another chug of his water. "It's in 2 days" Chris says. This caused Steven's eyes to open wide open before he chokes on the water a bit. Steven then started coughing. "Steven?" Chris asked and Sonic patted his back. "You okay?" Sonic asked, "Yeah, I'm fine..." Steven says as he recovered from coughing. "It's just that... I can't go to the victory party that day..." Steven says, causing Chris to look shock and Sonic to look confused. "Ah... Why can't you?" Chris asked, "I promised my new friend I would spend the day with her..." Steven says, "With who?" Chris asked, "One of your classmates from school, Chris... Her name is Helen" Steven says, "Helen? You mean the girl in my class? That Helen?" Chris asked, "That's right" Steven says, "I didn't know that" Chris says, "Where did you meet Helen, Steven?" Sonic asked, "I ran into her the other day at the lake when I was getting some fresh air after I finished my session of Advance training" Steven says.

A memory plays and shows a big lake in the middle of an open field.

With Steven, he was taking a walk around the area. "That Advance training workout sure gave me a push for my arms and legs muscles" Steven says while he moved his body around to prevent the muscle pain. "I need to find some water or I'll pass out..." Steven says.

Steven reaches the lake and takes a scoops of water in his hands and drinks it. "Ah. Much better..." Steven says as he started washing his face off a bit. After he finished, he then heard a sound of a wheelchair screech. "Huh? What's that?" Steven asked before he runs off to where the noise was coming from.

As Steven ran, the noise got louder until he noticed something. Steven stops and turns around to see a girl in a wheel chair struggling to get her wheelchair off the dirt. The girl's name was Helen. "Oh! She looks like she's struggling. I better help her!" Steven says before running to help her. "Here, I'll help you!" Steven says before pushing Helen's wheelchair off the dirt and on to the dry dirt road. Helen then turns to Steven. "Thank you! Oh, you're Steven, aren't you?" Helen asked and Steven looked surprised. "Oh. You know me?" Steven asked, "Of course. I saw you and Sonic on the day you saved me and my friends from Dr. Eggman and his robot" Helen says, "Oh yeah, that's right. Okay, then. I'm guessing you're one of Christopher Thorndyke's classmates then, right?" Steven asked, "Uh huh" Helen says, "That's good to 's your name?" Steven asked, "Helen" Helen says, "It's nice to meet you, Helen" Steven says. Two seagulls chirped and flew above the lake while Steven and Helen watch the lake and an island that was in the middle of the lake. "I come out here a lot. I love to look at that island" Helen says, "That island over there?" Steven asked as he pointed to where the island was. "Hmmmmm. My father says it's filled with the most beautiful flowers. All different kinds. He always promises he'll take me there. But he… he's always busy" Helen says before looking sad. Steven saw how sad Helen looked and felt bad. "Oh. I'm sorry, Helen" Steven says, "It's okay, Steven. It's not your fault" Helen says, "I know it's hard because adults are really busy, but I'm sure he'll take you there when he gets the chance" Steven says, "I don't know. My dad doesn't seem to have enough time for me. I'd go myself but…" Helen says and points points to the wheelchair. Steven realized she can't because her legs were paralyzed and she would need the extra support. Steven then thinks for a few seconds before coming up with an idea. "Helen, do you really want to see that island?" Steven asked, "Of course I do" Helen says, "Would you like me to take you there?" Steven asked and Helen looked surprised. "What? You would do that for me?" Helen asked, "Of course, Helen. I'll do anything to help my friends, even if it'll cost me something" Steven says, "I'm your friend now?" Helen asked, "Yes. You are my friend now, Helen" Steven says with a smile. "Oh thank you, Steven. This means so much to me. Let's do a pinky swear" Helen asked as she held her pinky. "A pinky swear?" Steven asked, "Yes. It's when two people make a promise to one another and if one of them breaks the finger, then they break the promise" Helen says, "Okay, then. Helen, I promise I'll take you to the island by any means necessary and won't break my finger and promise. I pinky swear it all" Steven says as he and Helen locked pinkies and smiled with the lake shining.

Back to reality, Steven finishes his story. "And that's my story. I pinky sweared and promised to spend the day with her" Steven says, "That's really thoughtful and nice of you, Steven. You're making the best decisions in your life right now" Sonic says, "Yeah, I'm glad Helen has you as a friend now" Chris says, "Thanks, guys. Anyway, I have to get everything ready for this trip so I better get started" Steven says.

Back in the living room, Sonic, Steven and Chris made their way back. Chuck and Amy continued looking at the invitation while Steven went up to Chuck. "Excuse me, Chuck, Do you have life jackets and a boat I can borrow in the next two days?" Steven asked, "Check over in the storage room" Chuck says while still looking at the invitation. "Thank you, Chuck" Steven says and left the living room and closes the door behind him. Sonic and Chris watch Steven leave with a smile on their faces.

Back at the White House two days later, fireworks were exploding in the air.

Inside the White House, everyone was dressed fancy and chatting while Jerome was looking at the setting. "Okay, now, if everything goes according to plan, Sonic and Steven should be arriving any minute. Then we'll have them meet the big guy and watch them go crazy" Jerome says, "They're here" a man says off screen, getting Jerome's attention. "Ah, it's time" Jerome says before running.

Back outside of the White House, the media were chatting and taking pictures of a limo that parked in front. The door opens to reveal Amy in a long red dress, Sonic, Tails, Chuck and Chris in tuxedoes and Cream in a pink dress with Cheese having a pink bow tie. The media kept taking pictures while chatting. "Say cheese" A camerawoman says, "Very nice, very nice" a cameraman says before Jerome pushes the crowd to the side and walks forward. "Here's our guests of honor! Welcome, Sonic. It's an honor to see you again" Jerome says as he shook Sonic's hand. "No problem" Sonic says and the media took more pictures. "Now here's... Huh?" Jerome asked as he didn't see Steven in the group. "Hey, where's Steven?" Jerome asked, "Not coming" Chuck says, "What?" Jerome asked and shouts, "To the party!" Chuck says before running to the entrance while Sonic ran past them to the inside. The others followed Chuck from behind while cheering. "Sonic came, but Steven's not gonna come?" A media man asked as he began walking away, "I was hoping to see Steven here too" another media man says while walking away too, "Yeah, well, if Steven's not showing up to this clambake, I'm getting out of here! I came here to see both Sonic and Steven" another media man says as the rest of the media were about to leave. "The station better pay for my parking..." another cameraman says before Jerome shouts and blocked their way. "Please don't go yet! Steven will be here any minute, I promise! Why don't you hang out at the buffet table awhile, and besides, you can take pictures of Sonic by himself for a little bit, please?" Jerome says before he turns his head to the right. "Hey, don't stand there! Go and find Steven, and bring him over here pronto" Jerome says to three security guards. "Yes sir!" All three said at the same time before they ran off.

Back at the Thorndyke Mansion, birds were chirping off scree.

Back inside of the Thorndyke Mansion, Ella was vacuuming the halls until the door was suddenly opened to reveal the three security guards, getting Ella's attention. "This is official government business! We need Steven immediately!" The first security guard says, "Who do you think you are, barging into this house? You mister bigshot, too important to knock, huh? Well too bad, Steven's not here!" Ella says, "You better not be hiding him, ma'am" the first security guard says, "Don't tell me what not to do, bigshot! now get out! I've got my cleaning!" Ella says and waves her hand, gesturing them to leave, causing the first security guard to growl. "DARN YOU... That's it, all right, we're searching the whole place!" the first security guard says, "TANAKA!" Ella says as another pair of doors open to reveal Mr. Tanaka. The security guards got in a fighting stance. "Don't get in our way, buddy!" The first security guard says, "Stand back, Ella. This time, it is my turn to clean up the house" Mr. Tanaka says as he charges at the three security guards with a shout. Mr. Tanaka then beats them up.

Back outside of the Thorndyke Mansion, the three security guards were thrown outside. The security guards grunted as they hit the ground before running off the property.

Back inside the Thorndyke Mansion, Mr. Tanaka and Ella watch the security guards leave. "Sorry" Mr. Tanaka says as he bows.

Back inside the White House, Sonic, Tails, Amy, Cream, Cheese, Chris and Chuck were eating at a table with the President watching them while Jerome was on the phone. "What do you mean, he's not home!?" Jerome asked, "Next time I take your advice, don't let me" The President says before Jerome turns to him. "I'm gonna get Steven here if it's the last thing I do! Connect me to defense. Mr. Secretary, sir, we have an emergency! We need to fully mobilize all troops! If you don't have enough people, then get help. From the Intelligence Bureau and the Office of Science and Technology Bureau! Get me Steven. He's ruining my party!" Jerome says.

At the ocean, four Navy Ships were sailing.

At a military ship, a fighter jet takes off in the skies.

In the skies, three fighter jets flew in the skies.

In Outer Space above Earth, the Satellite's camera was activated and pointing down at Earth all the way.

At a Military Base, the military has live feed of the camera from the Satellite on a monitor. "Request has been entered, sir, all systems go. Beginning search!" a pilot says from the radio off screen. "This won't be easy! Our target moves at 300 miles per hour. Stay alert everyone!" the Commander says.

Back at the Satellite in Outer Space above Earth, the camera points in different location until it finds Steven running in an open field town.

Back at the military base, the pilot from the radio got Steven's location. "Target spotted" The pilot says from the radio off screen, "Yeah, where?" The Commander asked as he looked at the monitor, "Region S-13 District!" the pilot says from the radio off screen.

Back in the skies, the Pilot was about to make a turn. "He's at Region S-13 District!" the pilot says, "Roger!" another pilot says off screen before the fighter jets makes a turn.

Back at the Military base, the pilot calls the Commander again. "Target is moving North at approximately 80 miles per hour!" The pilot says from the radio off screen, "Just don't lose sight of him!" The Commander says, "We lost sight of him..." The pilot says from the radio off screen, causing the Commander to trip in disbelief and stand back up. "Well, you better find him in a hurry!" The Commander says.

Above a forest, the three fighter jets kept flying forward. A few seconds later, Steven brought Helen to a stop near a stump. "I wonder what's going on up there... Wait here while I get the boat and everything else, alright?" Steven asked, "Okay" Helen says before Steven leaves.

Back at the White House, birds chirped off screen.

Back inside the White House, the Media was getting bored, sleepy and impatient while waiting for Steven. "Steven isn't coming at all, is he?" a media man asked, "Let's go home" another media man says before Jerome was handing out wine glasses of champagne on a tray. "Now then, champagne, anyone?" Jerome says before he sets the tray down on the table. "Hey, running low on horsd'oeuvres! Ugh, G.U.N better find that hedgehog fast!" Jerome says.

Back with Steven, he was running through an open field.

Back to the Thorndyke Mansion, Steven entered the property as he didn't noticed a van was parked in the front.

Inside the van were government officials monitoring the Thorndyke Mansion. "I think I just spotted him!" An Official says as another Official zooms into the Thorndyke Mansion window. The Camera makes an X Ray to see through the Mansion and it shows Steven talking to Ella. "It is him! We've located Steven up at the Thorndyke Residence!" The other Official says to the radio.

Back in the skies, three choppers were flying towards the Thorndyke Mansion.

Inside one of the choppers, a pilot notices something. "Down there" A chopper pilot says.

Back on the ground, Steven was holding the boat that had the life jackets.

Back inside the chopper, the pilot was about to do something. "Okay, you know what to do!" The Pilot says, "All right" The Co-Pilot says.

Back outside, the Co-pilot steps out and takes aim at Steven with missile launcher.

Back on the ground, Steven notices the chopper. "Huh?" Steven asked as he saw the chopper.

Back with the chopper, the Co-Pilot fires the missile launchers and a missile flies out and was about to hit Steven.

Back on the ground, Steven was confused. "I don't why they're doing this, but I don't have time for this. Let's put my Advance training to the test. Hopefully I don't hit them" Steven says before he jumps up and kicks the small missile away. The missile headed to the sky and dodged the chopper. Steven then lands on the ground. "Alright. So far so good. I better get going now!" Steven says before he leaves the Thorndyke Mansion.

Back inside the van, the Officials saw everything. "We almost had him, sir! Now, he's traveling north on the freeway" The second Official says as the first one was face palming.

Back with Steven, he was running on the highway with the boat and life vests in his hands. "Huh?" Steven asked as he looks behind him to see the three choppers in the sky and three police cars driving after him with their sirens on. "Now they have the cops on me? What's the deal here? Whatever it is, I don't have time for this. I better get off the highway and get into the forest. Hopefully that'll make me lose them" Steven says before he jumped off the highway and landed into a field. Steven then went back to running.

In a police car, two officers knew they won't catch Steven. "Might as well grab some lunch! We'll never catch him anyway" the first cop says while the choppers flew above the field.

Back in the Military base, the Commander got another call. "What do you mean he's off the freeway? What's that, the lakefront?" The Commander asked.

Back at the Lake, Helen was still waiting for Steven while looking at the island in the middle. Steven eventually arrived. "Sorry I took so long. I had a little delayed situation, but I'm here now. Are you ready to go?" Steven asked, "Mmm-hmm" Helen says.

Back at the White House, it was sunset.

Back inside the White House, the media were really getting impatient as most of them were a bit drunk. "When's Steven gonna be here!?" a media man asked, "Is he coming or isn't he!? We've been waiting for him till the evening!" Another media man asked before Jerome steps up and held a bottle of 1969 Chateau Latour. "Please calm down. Now fellas, I assure you Steven is on the way, just be patient. How about a little drink I've treasured for 59 years!? At least have a cup of it before you leave" Jerome asked as he poured some in the media's cups. "Here you go!" Jerome says, "Enjoy! Help yourself!" Jerome says as he poured some in the other cameraman's glass and then went up to another media man. "One more glass..." Jerome says before wiping his head.

Back at the lake, Steven was rowing the boat to the island while Helen was watching him. They both had life vest on. "We're almost there. Hopefully we'll get there before it gets dark" Steven says, "I'm so excited! I've dreamed of seeing this island for so long, Steven! I wish my father could've come with me..." Helen says.

A flashback shows a supermarket. "But now he's..." Helen says off screen.

Inside the supermarket, Helen's father named Doug was working by checking the products. "My father is working really hard right now. If only he didn't have to work so hard. We could be together more" Helen says off screen while Doug was moving boxes. Doug's manager goes up to Doug with a clipboard. "Listen, Doug, you've been working a lot of hours lately... I could hire a student worker do part time to make it easier..." The manager says as he flips a page, "No need to, sir, I don't mind the hard work! Plus, I need the hours" Doug says, "All right then, they're yours" the manager says, "You can count on me, sir!" Doug says.

Back to reality, Helen continued to look sad, Steven saw how sad Helen as he continued rowing the boat. "Helen, you remind me of myself a bit" Steven says, "I do?" Helen asked. "Yeah. I'll tell you when we get to the island because we're pretty close now" Steven says, "We are?" Helen asked, "Yeah" Steven says as he turns around to see the island getting close. Then suddenly, chopper whirls were heard. "Huh? What the!?" Steven asked as he and Helen look up to see the three choppers from before. "Great! They've found me!" Steven says, "Who are they?" Helen asked before the wind due to one of the chopper's propellers started to hit them hard, causing Helen to yell while the boat shakes a bit. One of the choppers descending close to them Steven then puts his hand out. "No don't!" Steven says.

Back at the lake, the chopper got closer and aimed its grapple hook and the grapple hits the boat. This caused Steven and Helen to yelp a bit. Steven held onto the boat as it was getting pulled.

Back inside the chopper, the pilot and Co-pilot were about to reel it in. "All right, let's pull that baby ashore!" The pilot says.

Back outside, the chopper flew higher in the air and started pulling the boat towards back to shore. Steven was trying to figure a plan out as he looked at both the chopper and Helen. "I've gotta find a way for us to get out of here without getting reckless. I can't put Helen in danger" Steven says in his head before planning out all over in a safe way. "Okay, I hope this works without any casualties .." Steven says in his head again. "Helen, I've got an idea, but it might get a little intense. Do you trust me on this one?" Steven asked and Helen nodded her head. "Yes, Steven. I trust you. I'm fine with whatever plan you have" Helen says, "Okay. Thank you, Helen" Steven says before he bents down and takes the grapple hook off the boat, causing more water to get in the boat. "Are you ready?" Steven asked and Helen nodded. Steven puts the grapple hook on one of the handles on Helen's wheelchair. "I've got you, Helen. Just hang on now!" Steven says as he got hold of Helen and the wheelchair. Steven and Helen were now flying above the lake. Steven looks at the island before getting his plan into action. Steven made sure he had a good drip on Helen and the wheelchair. "Here it goes..." Steven says in his head as he used his strength to perform a couple of swings towards the island. After a few swings, Steven did a strong swing with Helen getting nervous. "And..." Steven says in his head as he waited to make sure they were close enough to the island. "Now!" Steven says in his head and took the grapple hook off of Helen's wheelchair. Steven and Helen then went flying with Steven holding on to Helen. "Almost there..." Steven says in his head.

Steven and Helen then landed on the edge of the island. Suddenly, they were about to steep down. "Aaaah!" Helen says, "Whoa!" Steven says before Steven regained enough balance so they wouldn't fall. "Alright. Hold on tight, Helen. I'm gonna try to..." Steven says until he lost his balance and they were about to slide down. "Whoa!" Steven and Helen said at the same time while rolling down the steep with Helen screaming. "Not this time!" Steven says in his head before he lands his feet on the steeped hill to prevent them from going in the water. Steven grunted and used all his strength to run and push Helen's wheelchair back to the island ground. Steven and Helen landed on land with Steven wiping his forehead and Helen looking like she was crying. "Whew! That was close..." Steven says before he heard a crying noise from Helen. Steven then gasped a bit. "Oh! I'm sorry, Helen. I didn't mean to scare you. I shouldn't have done that..." Steven says before Helen lifts her head and was laughing. "Huh?" Steven asked, "Sorry, it's just that well, I feel so alive! I never thought somebody like me could have such an adventure. You were so brave to help me, Steven. I'm glad to spend this day with you" Helen says, making Steven smile. "Thanks, Helen. I'm glad you're not hurt, but I'm gonna try and ease up the stunts from now on. I don't want want to do anything that could possibly harm you anywhere from anything" Steven says, "It's okay, Steven. I trust you completely on what you need to do. Even if it gets a little dangerous" Helen says, "You do?" Steven asked, "Hmm" Helen says as she nodded. Before Steven could say anything, the sound of propellers swirling was heard again. "Huh?" Steven asked as he turns around to see the choppers flying towards them again. "They're still after us after all that?" Steven asked off screen before getting ready to push Helen. "Helen, are you ready?" Steven asked, "Of course!" Helen says, "Okay. Hold on tight" Steven says before he pushed Helen's wheelchair into the forest of the island while the choppers fly above the island.

Back in the chopper, the pilot saw the whole thing. "The target appears to have left the forest, commander" The Pilot says.

Back at the Military Base, the Commander got word of it. "Good, we'll be waiting on the other side! Quick, send a squadron out there now!" The Commander says as he pointed to the left. "Roger" A man says off screen.

Back at the White House, few of the media people were drunk from the drinks Jerome was offering. "Hey, I've drank it all up" The second media man says while drunk, "Here's a refill" Jerome says as he poured more of the 1969 Chateau Latour to the media man's glass. Jerome then poured more into the other Media men's glasses. Jerome was sweat dropping a bit while Sonic and the others were still eating. "This is boring. Wonder what's Steven's doing?" Chris asked, "He's probably still hanging out with Helen" Amy says, "Well I hope he brings her back home safely because it's getting late" Chuck says as he ate. "Don't worry, Steven will get her home safely with no sweat" Sonic says.

Back at the lake, it was night time with a full moon in the sky. A G.U.N Cargo bob was then flying towards the ground on the island.

Back on the island, the G.U.N Cargo bob made it's way down with the chopper pilots and co-pilots waving at it. Once the G.U.N Cargo bob landed. The doors open and a few G.U.N soldiers were riding on hover scooters before they make their way into the forest.

Back with Steven and Helen, Helen was talking to Steven. "I really do love my mom and dad... They're so good to me, that's why they work so hard. So that I can have everything I need... They make sure I have the best doctors, the best medicine, even this wheelchair must have cost them a lot of money. There's only one thing I want more than anything though... And that's to spend more time with them and have more fun" Helen says as she looked down a bit, making Steven feel bad for her again. "Yep. Just like me" Steven says in his head. "But I had lots of fun today, Steven!" Helen says, causing Steven to smile. "I've never been so excited in my whole life" Helen says, "I agree. There are times where anything unexpected happens to you in your lifetime. It's like a gift was given to you from the unknowns that does whatever it takes to make that one person happy" Steven says off screen as he looks up in the sky. Then suddenly, Steven looks to see something coming in their direction. "Hmm. It looks like we have uninvited guest to join us" Steven says, "Huh?" Helen asked as she and Steven look to see the lights from the hover scooters that the G.U.N soldiers are riding. Steven then grabs on the handles of Helen's wheelchair. "I'm ready if you are!" Helen says, "OKAY! READY!? SET!" Steven says, "GO!" Helen says and Steven pushed Helen's wheelchair and they run through the forest. "We've spotted Steven! In pursuit!" a G.U.N soldier says as he and the others were chasing after Steven and Helen. Helen looks behind a bit as Steven continued pushing her wheelchair. "You think we can beat them...?" Helen asked, "Only one way to find out! Hang on!" Steven says as he continues to push Helen's wheelchair through the forest. As a G.U.N soldier was riding his hover scooter, he yelled as he crashed into a tree while the others kept following Steven and Helen. Steven made a tight turn, causing another G.U.N soldier to crash somewhere.

Steven and Helen then left the forest. "I think we're good now!" Steven says as he looks behind. "Steven, up ahead!" Helen says, "Huh?" Steven asked as he saw that they were about to hit a wall. "Whoa!" Steven says and immediately skidded his feet and they stopped running. Steven and Helen looked up to see how high the other land was. Steven and Helen then turn around to see the G.U.N soldiers still after them. "Here they come" Helen says off screen while Steven thinks of another plan. Steven looks at the upper land and back at the G.U.N soldiers chasing him. "Let's see if my training has given me a push in performance"Steven says in his head. "Get ready, Helen. Because this might get a little intense again" Steven says before he pulls Helen's wheelchair back a bit. The G.U.N soldiers were almost close to them. "You ready?" Helen asked, "Yeah, hold on!" Steven says as he used his speed and strength to push Helen's wheelchair up to the upper land. The G.U.N soldiers yell as they were about to crash. They crashed while Steven and Helen looked down to see what happened. "Oh, my head" A G.U.N solider says, "What happened" Another G.U.N solider says.

Steven and Helen look at each other before they both laugh. Steven and Helen look in front and gasped. There were so many glowing white flowers everywhere with the full moon reflecting on them along with the stars. "It's beautiful..." Steven says in his head as he and Helen continue to look at them while Helen smiled. "Dad was right, Steven. They're the prettiest flowers anywhere" Helen says before a few flower pelts fly around. "Would you like me to pick some flowers for you, Helen?" Steven asked as he was about to pick a flower up. "Don't!" Helen says off screen, causing Steven to stop. "Leave them just as they are. I want to come back someday with my mother and father" Helen says, "Okay, sounds like a good idea. This will be something we'll always remember everyday in our lives" Steven says as they continue to look at the flowers with more flower pelts flying around. Suddenly, two grapple hooks locked on the land behind Steven's feet. "What the!?" Steven asked as he turns around to see the G.U.N soldiers climbing up. "This is getting ridiculous" Steven says, "We can't let them up here. If we do, they'll ruin all the flowers!" Helen says, "I won't let that happen" Steven says.

The G.U.N soldiers continue climbing up. "Hey!" Steven says off screen, causing the G.U.N soldiers to stop climbing and look for the source of Steven's voice. "If you want me, then come get me!" Steven says and waves as he and Helen were at another area. "There he is!" A G.U.N soilder says as he jumps down. Steven pushes Helen's wheelchair while the other three G.U.N soldiers follow them from the hover scooters. "Perfect. Those flowers won't be harmed now" Steven says as he and Helen look behind. Steven then noticed something in front of them. "Huh!? Whoa!" Steven says as he skidded his feet to stop as they were almost about to run off from the edge. Steven and Helen then look at the lake from above. "That was close... Huh?" Steven asked before he turns around to see the G.U.N soldiers aiming their grapple guns at Steven and Helen. "Steven!" Helen says before Steven got in front of Helen and got ready for anything. Suddenly, the chopper flew right behind them with a spotlight pointing at Steven and Helen. Steven then looked back at the G.U.N soldiers in front of him and Helen. "All right, guys. What's the deal here? I thought we were all allies after The Attack on Dr. Eggman's Base" Steven says, "Let's go, Steven! You're wanted by the President, and don't pull any funny stuff" A G.U.N solider says off screen, "Is this about the party that he sent me an invitation from the mail? Listen, I'm sorry I didn't make it to this party, but I made a promise to my friend and I'm not gonna have that promise be broken by anyone or anything!" Steven says as he raised his voice a bit. while Helen then looked surprised. "Stop this resistance and come with us to the President's office now, Steven!" the G.U.N soldier says, "Really!? Is this how you're looking at me now!? Like I'm some criminal that hasn't done anything wrong but to keep a promise to a friend that needs the extra support to make her life a better one!? Just like that!?" Steven asked off screen while Helen was getting a bit nervous. "After everything I've done and went through to make everyone on this planet to look up to us as heroes, you still think I have to follow orders 24/7!? That's not how it works for everyone especially from ME!" Steven says as he didn't notice a light shadow appearing on his forehead, causing Helen to flinch a bit. "Enough of this! This is your final warning! Come with us now or you don't want to know what will happen next! This is your last chance! I'm gonna give you 3 seconds! Get ready to fire on the count of 3" The G.U.N solider says off screen as Steven was breathing heavy while his quills we're going up a bit. "1..." the G.U.N soldier says off screen as Helen was getting scared. "2..." the G.U.N soldier says off screen while Steven was whimpering and shaking a bit. "3!" the G.U.N soldier says, "FINE! If you think you can stop me from fulfilling my promise to my friend, then go ahead! Try and stop me! I dare you all! Try and stop me with everything you have! Give it your best shot, boys!" Steven says. The G.U.N soldiers got nervous a bit before they acted fast. "All right, you asked for it!" the G.U.N solider says as he and the others aimed their grapple guns at Steven. The chopper also aimed its grapple missile at Steven. Steven then jumps away from Helen. "Fire!" the G.U.N solider says as they all fired at the same time. Steven instantly jumps out the way on time, causing the grapple hooks to tangle up in a knot. This caused the G.U.N soldiers to panic while Steven runs up to Helen and takes her off the wheelchair before carrying her bridal style. Steven runs on the cable of the grapple hook from the chopper. The G.U.N soldiers felt their grapple guns get pulled while Steven ran inside the chopper.

Back inside the chopper, the pilot saw Steven and Helen enter. "Hey!" the pilot says as he was about to grab Steven, but Steven sets Helen down and lifted the pilot. The pilot then yelled a bit.

Back outside the chopper, the pilot was thrown out. "Get out!" Steven says off screen, "Whoa!" The pilot says before he yells he falls in the lake with a big splash.

Back inside the chopper, Steven placed Helen on the passenger seat while Steven was in the pilot seat. Steven also placed headphones on over Helen's ears so it could block the chopper's propellers loud noise from her ears. "Can you fly this thing?" Helen asked nervously while Steven was pressing buttons. "Absolutely. I've taken flying lessons from Tails and I also flew a fighter jet when I was assisting them to stop Dr. Eggman. This isn't difficult for me anymore" Steven says before he pressed another button.

Back outside the chopper, the grapple missile on the chopper shot out.

Back on the island, this caused the G.U.N soldiers to fall down from the pull.

Back inside the Chopper, Steven was about do something else. "One more thing" Steven says, "Huh?" Helen asked as Steven pressed the button on the handle.

Back outside the chopper, another grapple shoots out and hooks itself on the handle of Helen's wheelchair. The chopper then started to fly up with the wheelchair hanging, leaving the other G.U.N soldiers on the island.

As Steven flew the chopper, Helen notices something down below. "Ah, Steven, the flowers!" Helen says before she and Steven look down to see the flowers glowing below them as they fly with a few petals flying away. Helen looks at them happily before they leave the island.

Above Station Square, the chopper was flying in the skies.

Back inside the chopper, Steven was looking at the front with Helen in the passenger seat. Steven eventually reeled in Helen's wheelchair inside. Steven also managed to calm down a bit as the shadow on his forehead faded away slowly. "Well I guess our adventure's over, Steven" Helen says, "I guess so. Did you have a good time?" Steven asked as he turned to Helen. "Sure did!" Helen says, "That's good. It's getting really late. I'll fly you back home right now" Steven says, "But Steven, aren't you supposed to go see the President?" Helen asked, "Forget it. After what he was involved back at the island, I don't think I'll be on good terms with him anytime soon" Steven says, "But... I'd feel awful if you didn't get to see him because of me" Helen says, causing Steven to look at Helen. "Helen, don't say something like that. Don't even think something like that. You didn't have anything to do with me not going to see the President. I chose not to go and I'll take full responsibility for whatever happens after. But I'm not gonna let them get you involve in anyway because you had nothing to do with it. You wanted to go on an adventure and I gave up an another opportunity for a better one. You can count on it" Steven says, "Is it gonna play out the way you acted back at the island when they were telling you to go with them?" Helen asked. "Oh" Steven says.

A flashback shows the anger Steven was feeling back on the island.

Back to reality, Steven then sighs. "Helen, I'm sorry for the way I acted back there. I just couldn't get over the way how those G.U.N soldiers think they can tell me what to do when I'm trying not to break a promise to someone that I care about. I just kinda lost a bit. I'm also sorry if I scared you back there, Helen. That's not how I normally act" Steven says as he looks down a bit. "It's okay, Steven. You were just trying to keep your promise to me and I'm really glad you didn't break it, but you also have to make sure to not let too much of your anger get to you like that. You never know what can happen if you let your anger take over you like that. If something unexpected happened and you were to lose it, you won't be the Steven we all know and love" Helen says off screen. This made Steven look guilty. "But there is always light at the end of the tunnel" Helen says, causing Steven to look up a bit with a surprised look. "There is?" Steven asked and Helen nodded. "Yes. You can practice on controlling your emotions so they know who's in charge of them, and do you know who's in charge, Steven?" Helen asked, "Me..." Steven says as his guilt started to fade away a bit. "That's right. Only you can decide on the decisions you make, Steven. Not anyone else. So I want you to make another promise. I want you to practice on controlling your emotions so you won't get angry again. Can you do that for me, Steven?" Helen asked as she held her pinky up. Steven thinks about it and after a few seconds, he smiles. "Okay, Helen. I promise I will" Steven says before he and Helen did another pink swear. "Thank you. Now that we have that taken care of, you never got to finish when you said I reminded of you a bit" Helen says, "Oh! That's right. Okay, Helen. It's like this..." Steven says as he told Helen everything that's been going on in his life up until now. Helen was surprised and felt bad. "Wow, Steven. I'm sorry that you had to go through that alone back then" Helen says, "It's okay, Helen. It's like you said before, it's not your fault. But because of Chaos Control, I have met Sonic, his friends, I'm learning new things and getting stronger everyday. My life feels a little better than what it used to be and I couldn't ask for a better one" Steven says, "That's good" Helen says, "Helen, I'm sure your parents want to spend time with you as much as you want them too. Try to show them on why you want to spend time with them so they can realize why you want them to be with you" Steven says, "Okay, Steven. I can do that" Helen says, "Great. So are you ready to go home now?" Steven asked, "Well I still want you to go see the President, even if you don't like the idea. Because I want you and him to talk and see if you two can work it out again" Helen says, "I don't know, Helen..." Steven says, "Please go see him. I'll even go with you!" Helen says off screen. "You want to go with me? Helen, it's okay, you don't have to" Steven says "Yes, I do. I want to be there to support you if you can't do it alone. Please, Steven. Let me help you like you helped me today" Helen says. Steven thinks about it before making his decision. "Alright. Anything for you, Helen. So hang on, we're gonna go a different route" Steven says.

Back outside the chopper, the chopper descended down a bit.

Back inside the White House, Jerome was on the phone. "What's that? He did? The what!? The chopper?" Jerome asked until he heard a chopper's propellers running. "What now? AH!" Jerome says as he saw Steven and Helen outside the front door with the chopper landed behind them. This caused Sonic, Tails, Amy, Cream, Cheese, Chris and Chuck to gasped. "Steven!?" Sonic, Tails, Amy, Cream, Cheese, Chris and Chuck asked at the same time while Jerome gets excited. "It's Steven! He came after all! He's here, he's really here!" Jerome says before everyone in the room looks to see the President walk up to Steven. "Welcome back, Steven. Great to see you again, soldier" The President says as he brought his hand out towards Steven. Steven hesitated a bit before looking at Helen. Helen then nodded her head before Steven looks back at the President. "Same with you, Mr. President..." Steven says nervously as he and the President shook hands. Sonic and the others including Jerome smiled. "Now, hold that right there. Sonic, go shake Mr. President's other hand. Hurry, hurry! Reporters, photographers. This is the moment you've been waiting for!" Jerome says and gasped as he saw the media sleeping and snoring everywhere on the table they were at. "Aaaaaaaah!" Jerome says in shock before falling on the floor. The President, Sonic, Steven, Helen and the others look at Jerome in confusion before Sonic, the President, Chuck, Amy, Cheese, Cream, Helen, Tails and Chris let out a laugh. Steven saw Helen laughed and smiled a bit.

At Helen's house, Helen was now back home. "So there we were, in the middle of these beautiful flowers. All of a sudden, we looked down and saw the men climbing toward us" Helen says off screen.

Inside Helen's house, Helen was having dinner while telling her mother and Doug her story. "Before I knew it was happening, Steven and I were whirling into the forest. And then they were following us on these strange flying bicycles" Helen says as her mother and Doug looked surprised. "But we were way ahead of them, and then we came to a cliff, looking way down over the ocean. And this helicopter came, so they could take Steven to the President and they shot off this rope with a claw on the end, but Steven grabbed me and" Helen says before she noticed her bowl. "Oh, Momma, could I…!" Helen says as she passes her plate to her mother. "All right, I don't think I've ever seen you eat like this" Helen's mother says before she goes into the kitchen. "So anyway" Helen says, "Now, now, hold on, honey, I'm gonna get a refill, too. With a story as fascinating as this, I'm gonna need my energy" Doug says and laughs before heading to the kitchen. "Hurry back, Dad, and I'll tell you about the helicopter!" Helen says.

In the kitchen, Helen's mother was giving Helen's bowl a refill. "Steven grabbed me out of my wheelchair and he carried me all the way up the rope!" Helen says off screen while Doug walks in. "All right, all right. Our little girl's had quite the adventure. Her story is going to last about two bottles of wines" Doug says as he grabs two wine bottles from the cabinet before noticing Helen's mother in concern. "What's wrong?" Doug asked as Helen's mother had tears in her eyes. "Do you hear, she's so changed. She sounds so so happy!" Helen's mother says.

Back outside of Helen's home, Helen's mother continues. "I just want to be there for her... spend more time with her" Helen's mother says before crying a bit.

Back inside the kitchen of Helen's house, Doug comforts her a bit. "Yeah, I've been working too many hours lately. I haven't spent enough time with the family. Let's plan a day trip to that Island Helen loves so much. What do you say?" Doug asked, "Honey!" Helen's mother said as she smiled a bit. "Mom! Dad!" Helen says, getting Doug and Helen's mother's attentions. "What's taking you so long!?" Helen asked off screen.

Back outside of Helen's House, they all continue. "We're coming, honey!" Doug says, "Sorry, dear. Your father and I were having an important discussion!" Helen's mother says off screen as she and Doug make their way back to the dining room with Helen's mother holding Helen's plate and Doug holding the two wine bottles. "Hurry, I'm coming to the most exciting part!" Helen says off screen.

Not too far from Helen's house, Sonic and Steven were on a tree branch while watching and listening to the conversation. "So anyway, we got into the helicopter!" Helen says off screen, "A helicopter, I've never been in one!" Helen's mother says off screen, "And I'll bet you flew it all the way to the President" Doug says off screen, "No fair, Dad, you're ruining my story" Helen says off screen before they continue off screen. "Steven, I'm really proud for what you did today" Sonic says, "Thanks, Sonic. I'm just glad that I made Helen's day special" Steven says, "I also heard about your little incident at the island from what Helen told me" Sonic says before Steven sighs a bit. "Yeah, I know. Do you have anything to say about that?" Steven asked, "I just want to know how you feel right now" Sonic says, "I feel fine now because Helen spoke to me about it and it helped me a bit. I just gotta practice controlling my emotions at a stabled rate. That's another promise I'll keep and won't ever break" Steven says, "Then that's all I needed to know. That was nice of her to do for you. It was also nice of her to go with you back to the White House" Sonic says, "Yeah, it was. She also helped me settle things right with the President and the President apologized for what happened today so now we're all on good terms again" Steven says, "That's also great. Now things will calm down for you now, right?" Sonic asked, "Yeah... I think they will" Steven says, "Good. So are you ready to head back home" Sonic asked, "In a little bit, I want to spend these last minutes of watching and listening to Helen finish up her story to her parents and then for them to go to bed, then we'll go home, if it's not too much of a problem for you, Sonic" Steven says, "Don't worry, Steven. I don't mind at all. I have all the time I need to spend with all my friends" Sonic says, "Thanks, Sonic" Steven says as they continue to watch and listen with smiles as today has been a special day for Steven and his new friend Helen.

Shining Road (光る道, Hikaru michi)

Clips were playing from the next Chapter/Episode. "Hey! It's me, Steven the Hedgehog! Since everyone in the world knows about us now, it was now time for us to come out of hiding and step into the real world in public. As we did, I've taken interest on certain things as I did a little shopping for myself. But as we tried to enjoy ourselves, it was interrupted by pedestrians and fans looking and touching us in interest. It seems like this will take time to get used too if we were to have a peaceful day without any disturbance. Meanwhile, after laying low for a while after his Fortress got destroyed, Dr. Eggman is back again with a newly ship called the Egg Fort that was hiding underground this whole time! We tried to retreat, but we were backed up in a corner. Sonic managed to arrive, but couldn't reach to the Egg Fort by himself. I decided to step in and help, but it resolved with the same aftermath. Chris and everyone decided that the X-Tornado will have to be required if we're gonna win. So it looks like we'll have to take the battle with Dr. Eggman in the skies once more! Next time on Sonic X: Steven the Hedgehog! "Mobile Fortress Egg Fort Attacks!" ("Skirmish in the Sky"). Here we go again!" Steven says off screen as the current Chapter/Episode ends.
