Chapter Three: Detournadus at Dawn

(A/N: I'm sorry about the like year long hiatus, I might try to write semiregularly since I'm going to be traveling this winter break, it's really just about whatever ideas that come to mind. Note my writing style has probably changed a lot over the past year and a half and college is pretty busy. As always, feedback is much appreciated in the form of PMs and reviews! I've also read the feedback from previous chapters and I think I'll stop interjecting my own author notes into the story unless they're really necessary. I do agree looking back on my old work they detract a little from the experience, haha assuming there was one to begin with)

Red's POV

I was on Toge's back when an irregularly strong wind blew through the deck of the ship. Unfortunately, Blue held her skirt down but something else blue caught my eye (and it wasn't her panties).

A blue haired girl had been blown right off the ship! My instant reaction was, holy crap it's raining cute girls, Hallelujah! But seeing as that was probably an inappropriate thought for the situation I decided to quickly act upon my second gut reaction, which was to quickly save this girl.

Luckily, Toge read my thoughts and immediately burst off in her direction. Now let me take this moment to say that Togekisses don't look like the quickest bird/egg/blobs in the world, but their desire to make people happy is second to none. So it makes sense that Toge's thought process in that moment was [holy crap that girl is about to fall into the ocean, I think saving her probably qualifies as making her happy. And while I'm at it I can get my trainer some of dat a**, yep double kill in the happiness category].

After running through that very profound thought process, Toge zoomed over to the descending girl's position so quickly that he became a white blur to onlookers. I was thankful that my Toge was a timid Togekiss which for some reason or another meant he was really fast, which never really made sense to me but it worked out in this situation.

Right before the girl hit the water I caught her in my arms and I gave out a loud "oof". Luckily she had a very firm ... backside which helped cushion the impact (that's the explanation I'm running with) and Toge immediately leveled out his rapid descent so that we wouldn't crash into the water together.

I looked into the girl's pretty blue eyes and asked "are you alright?" Which was a stupid question, because she was scared out of her mind, the impact of hitting the water would have definitely have broken some bones at the very least and her eyes showed that she was quite aware of what had almost happened.

I gave her a warm smile and acknowledged the slight nod she gave me in response to my question and said as gently as possible (while trying to make myself heard over the sound of the waves) "You're safe now, I've got you".

Oddly enough, her cheeks tinted a deep crimson and she averted her eyes after I said that.

I slightly panicked and exclaimed "oh no! Are you sick? Did you get a fever from the shock of the fall?" Which of course was the only explanation for people turning that red.

Then she replied with a sheepish "I'm alright, don't worry. Thank you so much for saving me. What's your name?"

"Red from Pallet Town" I replied promptly.

"Red... that's a nice name, my name is Dawn" she replied as she stared deep into my eyes.

At this point we had finally returned to the deck of the S.S. Anne and Toge descended into the crowd of worried passengers who had witnessed Dawn's fall.

"That was a terribly strong gust of wind that just happened" Someone exclaimed in the crowd.

"Which is odd because the Hoenn Weather Institute had told the ship today would be calm seas and smooth sailing on our way to Unova" a crewmember remarked afterward.

Either way, I carried Dawn off of Toge and thanked Toge for the good work.

Suddenly someone exclaimed "What Pokemon is that?" while pointing toward the docks.

A Unovan pokemon resembling a genie was floating over the docks and looking straight at us. Well, it was looking at Toge specifically. Its eyes had turned to hearts and it sent another strong breeze towards Toge as a greeting.

Toge looked in horror as it realized that the green Pokemon was a male as well. [Oh my god, do you even understand that I'm a guy too you stupid Pokemon?] Toge chirped(Of course, Red didn't realize what gender Toge was as he is a bit slow).

A peppy looking girl with a pink hat, twin-tails, and long black stockings underneath a yellow skirt walked over to me and said "That's the legendary Pokemon Tornadus! He seems to have taken an interest in your Togekiss." ... Well shit, was the first thought that came to mind. While I didn't mind my Toge finding a mate finally, I kind of needed him for my upcoming mission against Team Plasma so allowing him to go off and copulate with this genie thing was not on my list of top priorities.

So I told Toge "Sorry dude, I'm going to have to force you to give up on this one." To which Toge surprisingly gave what seemed like a sigh of relief. [Thank god my trainer can be a complete imbecile] Toge thought to himself as he had dodged losing his v-card to a green genie dog thing.

I walked to the edge of the ship railings and yelled to Tornadus "Sorry Tornadus, you can't have Toge, I still need him to be my wingma... er I mean help defeat Team Plasma"

This remark brought Tornadus into a rage as he just realized that he had his rejection delivered by a human who's IQ could very well be criminally low. Tornadus was determined to have his revenge and he bellowed loudly [If I can't have your Toge...kiss then no one can!] And he immediately summoned up the strongest whirlwind any of the people present had ever witnessed.

The whole S.S. Anne creaked as the anchor, ropes attached to the dock, and boarding plank were all swept up along with the ship as it lifted off the water and towards the sky.

What in the actual fuck, was the first thing that came to mind in my head as I saw people who had realized what was happening scramble to get below deck to safety.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Yellow slip into the ship with Pika and Chuchu in tow and Blue was right behind her.

Relieved, I immediately moved Dawn to one arm and held her tighter as she had begun to panic again and I rushed over to where the twin-tailed girl was standing and scooped her up in my free arm. She yelped a bit but quickly embraced me as the winds were beginning to pick up.

"My name is Red and I need you to trust me and hold on tight, I'll make sure you stay safe if it's the last thing I do!" I yelled to her to make sure she didn't panic as well. She stared at me with deep trusting eyes and I knew then I had to do everything in my power to save these two. "My name is Rosa Mei! I trust you just tell me what to do Red!" She said in a slightly panicked but controlled voice.

Noting how pretty her voice was (she reminded me of a Pokestar) even under the adverse circumstances, I quickly ordered Toge to cover us with a protect as we were all flung towards the swimming pool. Thankfully, the water that remained in the pool cushioned our impact along with Toge's protect. As we were pressed against the walls of the pool since the winds were becoming even more violent and the ship had gained serious altitude.

Speaking of which, something else in my nether regions was also gaining altitude as these two very soft girls were pressing closely to me. But given the gravity (or lack of) of the situation I firmly decided to not betray the trust they were putting in me and redirected my thoughts to a Slowpoke, who were always serene and calm.

After narrowly avoiding the danger of having a very awkward conversation with these two beauties after this ordeal was over, I looked around to try to assess the situation. I guess not getting some of my Toge had really pissed this Tornadus off as we were now above the clouds and still gaining velocity.

I took this opportunity to send out Milo who proceed to tightly wrap around and protect us after reading the situation thoroughly.

The girls had felt sufficiently safe enough at this point to calm down and ask about what was going on. "Are we going to be okay?" They asked in unison.

"Don't worry, as long as I'm here you'll always be safe" I said honestly as I knew I could count on Toge and Milo to keep us safe from any water or air based problems that could come up.

Oddly enough both of them turned away abruptly again but I pretty much concluded at this point that they might have just gotten something in their eyes or something.

Unbeknownst to me, a certain honey hair colored girl was watching my whole rescue from the cracks of one of the ship doors and whispered "so he's the one ..."

Yeah sorry guys about how long it's been. I honestly had to reread my story to actually remember what direction I wanted to take this. There's probably going to be a lot of changes in style and the like but I'll definitely be open to any suggestions you guys have during the process. I'm currently trying to catch them all in Alpha Sapphire and it's been a blast thanks to the Dexnav and Pokebank. Besides that, since it's finals week the next update probably won't be for a while unless I take a long break so, I'm sorry about that. Also, since I did clear Pokemon X, I will definitely include Kalos in the story as I really liked the region/lore/ and characters from there.

Finally, thank you so much for all the reviews and follows. I didn't think I'd hit the double digits in any of these parts when I first started writing this fanfic and I'm very grateful to all the feedback. When I saw the amount of people who had viewed my story after my Ch.3 announcement it relit up that excitement I had when I first published this story. I'm also currently working on a bit more serious story centering around Red in a poke high school styled setting that you guys should check out. That one is a bit more based from my experiences and will be a bit deeper than this one. And to the anonymous reviewer who said Don't leave me hanging dude! I beg of you more! Please! I felt really bad about not continuing the story so whoever you are, I hope you get to read this chapter! That's all from me for this one, see you guys in the next chapter!
