"Well, your Zeraora literally defeated my Lucario. And your charizard defeated my Hydreigon" said Cameron who still can't process the fact that he looses in the league.
"But how your charizard able to defeat my Hydreigon," asked Cameron one more time
"Because he was training from past few years alone among the species of his kind. The pokemon there are more powerful than normal charizard." said Ash
"Man, you really shocked me to the core" said Cameron. Same day Ash sends his all pokemon that were with him back to the Kanto Region except Pikachu,Hydreigon,Meloetta, Serperior,Leavanny, Boldore,Emboar,Galvantula, Zorua,Lucario,Gardevoir and Gengar
Next day top sixteen participants gathered in the stadium where Alder is addressing the competitors
"We started with five hundred and twelve competitors and now we are at the stage where there are sixteen participants are left. Now I wish you sixteen participants best of luck and hope the best reach to the finals. Without any delay let's start with our today's matchups. " said Alder as big screen displayed the possible matches.
The matchups are as follows. Ash is going to battle Virgil, Paul is against Barry, Gary is against Conway, Nando is against Morrison, Tobias is against Tyson, Max is against Dino and there are other unknown trainers who reached to top sixteen stage.
Now the battle between Ash and Virgil is about to begin. Both trainers are going to face each other.
"Ladies and gentlemen , please welcome our first two participants of top sixteen battles. Ash Ketchum and Virgil. Both trainers showed great amount of skills in terms of battling. Ash Ketchum as veteran trainer who is from Kanto Region. And next we have Virgil and his team of Eeveelutions." said announcer as Ash and Virgil came out of the tunnel and took their position on opposite sides of the battlefield. This made crowd cheers in excitement.
"Hey Virgil, congratularions for making it to top sixteen," said Ash
"You too, " said Virgil
Battle between the two opponents started and for first round Virgil sends his Umbreon and Ash sends his Galvantula.Upon getting signal.fron referee Virgil made his first move.
"Umbreon use shadow ball," said Virgil
"Galvantula counter it with electroball," said Ash
Both orb based elemental attacks connected with each other. Umbreon then charged at Galvantula with quick attack.
"Galvantula surround umbreon and use disable, " said Ash as Galvantula made its copies. Red energy surrounded Umbreon making it unable to use quick attack.
"Umbreon use psychic on all of them" said Virgil
"Use protect into thunder sting," said Ash as green energy dome surrounded Galvantula saving him from psychic and then used posion sting and tthunderbolt combo due to which poison sting covered in electricity. Umbreon used psychic to stop them and used shadow ball on Galvantula. Galvantula used x-scissor to destroy the shadow ball.
"Galvantula use sticky web on the ground," said Ash
"Umbreon dodge it," said Virgil
"Galvantula now," said Ash as Virgil jumped in the air , Galvantula launched the white glowing energy pins at Umbreon that striked it knocking it on the field. Galvantula then used string stot and sticky web to place Umbreon on the ground.
"Umbreon free yourself and use shadow ball" said Virgil
"Don't let him do, use hyperbeam," said Ash as Galvantula fired hyperbeam but Umbreon used psychic to redirect it back at Galvantula. As hyperbeam heads back to the Galvantula he used double team and then used sticky web once more. Umbreon dodged every attack and fired dark pulse. Galvantula used charge beam that connected with dark pulse leads to explosion.
Umbreon and Galvantula are facing each other. Umbreon then used quick attack which Galvantula stopped using sticky web. Umbreon who is now covered in sticky substance.This time Galvantula aimed for the eyes
"Umbreon stay calm and use psychic " said Virgil as sticky web started to glow blue and then sticky web is destroyed. Umbreon then released hyper beam. Galvantula fired its own hyper beam that results into explosion. Taking the advantage of the smoke rised from explosion, Umbreon leapt at Galvantula and hold it under its paws.
"Now use shadow ball," said Virgil
"Now, Galvantula" said Ash as smoke covered galvantula after which there is a substitute of galvantula.
"Galvantula use cross poison, " said Ash as Galvantula charged at Umbreon with pincers glowing purple and striked umbreon. Umbreon then stood back and used psychic to hold Galvantula and slammed him continuously. Galvantula broke free and used pin missile.
In final clash Galvantula evaded the shadow ball and striked Umbreon with cross poison knocking her out. Before being knocked out , Umbreon used mean look on Galvantula.
Virgil then used Flareon which defeated Galvantula.
"A flareon huh," said Ash as he sends his Zorua who is disguised as an Kyogre
"No way, Ash has Kyogre" asked Max in shock
"Nah it is not possible, " said Cilan. Virgil and referee is in shocked as well
"Kyogre vs Flareon, let the battle begin" said referee
"Flareon start with flame charge, " said Virgil
"Kyogre dodge and use surf said Ash. Zorua created illusion of dodging. Massive isllusion of water surrounded Zorua disguised as Kyogre.
Massive wave of water reached near Flareon making her stop in the mid track. As Virgil and Flareon are busy in analyzing the situation, Zorua striked flareon with quick attack sending Flareon backwards.
Zorua get back to Ash's side in his Kyogre's form and then created the illusion of battlefield crack. Everyone can see the illusion but only Ash knows that everything is illusion.
"Now Kyogre use focus blast, " said Ash as Zorua formed the focus orb and then launched the focus blast that Flareon dodged and charged at the Kyogre. Kyogre then glowed blue and then once again massive wave formed
"Flareon use full power over heat, " said Virgil as Flareon took deep breath and then released massive stream of flames. Kyogre used protect after which Kyogre transformed into Zorua
"What a surprise ladies and gentlemen, it was Zorua disguised as Kyogre." said announcer
"Zorua let's finish this quick, use focus blast" said Ash as Zorua fired focus blast. Flareon used overheat which leads to explosion. Flareon then used flamecharge. Zorua transformed into Pidgeot and flew higher in the air and dodged flamethrower. Zorua then used quick attack and striked Flareon dealing good damage.
"Flareon use flame charge, " said Virgil
"Zorua use night daze, " said Ash
Zorua's eyes glow light blue and it raises its front two paws into the air. Its body then becomes surrounded in a crimson aura. Zorua then brings its paws down to the ground and a pink and crimson forcefield of energy appears around Zorua's body and expands outwards throughout the whole battlefield. The forcefield throws Flareon in the air.
"Zorua use close combat" said Ash as Zorua transformed into Infernape and then constantly striked Flareon with shadow claw, and rock smash. Flareon who tried to dodge the attack, but unable to do so as Zorua is quite fast as compared to Flareon.
"Now Flareon use fire spin" said Virgil
"Oh no, Zorua get out of there" said Ash but it was late as Zorua engulfed in flames.
"Zorua send it back using night daze, " said Ash as Zorua did back flip and generated dark forcefield that destroyed flames and striked Flareon knocking it out instantly
"Flareon is unable to battle, " declared referee
"Zorua nice job, but take rest for a while, " said Ash as he recalled his pokemon back
Virgil sends his Vaporeon and Ash sends his Serperior.
"Vaporeon start with water pulse," said Virgil
"Serperior dodge and then use leaf tornado," said Ash
Serperior slithers on the battlefield with such an amazing speed that in matters of second, Serperior is near Vaporeon and then used leaf tornado that striked Vaporeon.
"Vaporeon use icy wind, " said Virgil
"Serperior use mirror coat" said Ash as Serperior surrounded in pink energy coat making Icy wind reflect back to Vaporeon.Vaporeon tried to dodge but encased in icy block. Vaporeon quickly break out of it and glared Serperior.
"Vaporeon use rain dance, " said Virgil as Vaporeon howled loudly making black clouds formed above the stadium after which it started to rain. Once rain started Vaporeon started ti heal.
"Serperior use sunny day, cancel out rain dance and use brutal swing," said Ash. Serperior cancels rain dance making sun shines brighter and then slithers towards the Vaporeon. Vaporeon jumped in the air and then used ice beam. Serperior used her double team and appeared behind Vaporeon and used tail to bind Vaporeon. Vaporeon is now struggling hard to escape. Serperior then jumped in the air and then slammed Vaporeon on the ground.
Vaporeon get back on its feet and then used aqua jet. Serperior evaded the attack with quick attack and then used leaf tornado landing direct hit on Vaporeon.
"Vaporeon use blizzard," said Virgil
"Counter with twister, " said Ash as Serperior released swirling tornado that canceled blizzard.
"Vaporeon use hydro pump, " said Virgil
Serperior dodged the attack and striked Vaporeon with dragon blade. As soon as dragon blade connected with Vaporeon and send it flying in the air. Just before Vaporeon could fall on the field, Serperior used vine whip to grab Vaporeon and brought Vaporeon near her.
"Now Serperior, use leaf storm" said Ash as with this attack Vaporeon is defeated
"Serperior return for now," said Ash recalling his grass type
After a break of fifteen minutes Ash and Virgil are back to their position.
"Trainers, send your next pokemon, " said referee
"Glaceon battle time, " said Virgil sending his ice type
"Emboar go" said Ash sending his fire and fighting type
"Glaceon vs Emboar let the battle begin, " said referee
"Glaceon start with quick attack " said Virgil
"Wait for her and grab her," said Ash
Glaceon glowed white and dashed towards Emboar. Emboar kneeled down and extends its arms and with full strength he stopped Glaceon. Glaceon is now under his grip.
"Now glaceon, activate your defense mechanism " said Virgil. Glaceon started to glow blue and then her fur stands like needle which made Emboar release her. Glaceon then used ice shard which Emboar countered with overheat making ice shards melt away.
Glaceon then used ice beam which Emboar countered with flamethrower. Flamethrower easily overpowered ice beam and then striked Glaceon. Glaceon then used icy wind. Emboar uses overheat once again making it strike Glaceon.
Glaceon stood back after taking severe damage from overheat and launched shadow ball. Shadow ball and focus blast from Emboar which results into explosion. From within the smoke, Glaceon leapt at Emboar with quick attack and striked Emboar but thanks to his training he didn't got a scratch.
"What, how is that even possible. Your Emboar, didn't got a scratch," asked Virgil
"He trained against my strongest pokemon, " said Ash
"Emboar use fire pledge," said Ash as Emboar
slammed it's foot after which columbs of flames erupted and raced towards Glaceon. Glaceon tried to evade but columns of flames merged into one single column. Column of flame engulfed Glaceon dealing good amount of damage.
"Glaceon no," said Virgil as she fainted quickly
"My next pokemon is Espeon, " said Virgil as he sends his sun pokemon
"In that case, go" said Ash sending his next pokemon. As soon as Tyranitar landed on the field sand storm started blocking the view of Espeon and Virgil. Virgil trying to see which pokemon Ash send and his eyes widened
"A tyranitar," said Virgil in shock
"Tyranitar vs Espeon, let the battle begin," said referee
"Espeon start with psybeam," said Virgil
"Tyranitar use stone edge," said Ash as Espeon released multi color energy beam. Tyranitar slammed its foot making sharped edge stone erupt out of the field and raced towards the Espeon.
Espeon evaded each stones and then released psybeam once again which didn't effected him.
Tyranitar used dragon pulse and Espeon used telekinesis to stop it. Once dragon pulse is stopped she sends it back to Tyranitar. Turanitar used protect to stop dragon pulse. Espeon then used shadow ball which Tyranitar countered with dragon claw and destroyed it successfully.
Espeon then used dazzling gleam after which
Espeon releases a bright, sparkling light from its body at the Tyranitar. Tyranitar sends pulse of dark energy. Espeon pushed dark pulse back but thanks to high defense of Tyranitar it didn't dealt high damage.
Tyranitar then used stone edge which Espeon dodged and used psyshock. Tyranitar used dark pulse that striked Espeon dealing good amount of damage. Espeon then used quick attack, Tyranitar used it's tail and to block quick attack and sends Espeon flying in the air.
"Quickly use stone edge and hit stone edge with dragon tail" said Ash as Tyranitar slams its hands onto the ground, causing light blue rock pillars to appear out of the ground. Tyranitar then used its tail to cause stone edge broke into pieces and the stone projectiles fired at Espeon.
Espeon used telekinesis to stop the stone projectiles and then send it back at tyranitar. Tyranitar used protect and then used earth power making ground erupt with immense power sending Espeon flew in the air.Tyranitar then fired hyper beam that striked Espeon dealing good damage to it.
"Tyranitar use sandstorm," said Ash as Tyranitar waves one of its arms to the side, causing a sandstorm. Espeon used double team but Tyranitar is controlling sandstorm and then it started to move towards Espeon and finally trapped her.
"Espeon get out of there," said Virgil as Espeon tried to use psychic but it didn't worked
"Now Tyranitar, use earthquake " said Ash as Tyranitar used earthquake after which Espeon thrown out of the battlefield. Virgil is now stressed.
"I won't be defeated now," said Espeon as she stood back and then her eyes glowed blue and then a shockwave of psychic energy send towards Tyranitar. Shockwaves were powerful but not enough to send Tyranitar back. With her immense psychic energy battlefield started to tear up.Tyranitar used earth power that dealt good damage to Espeon
"Tyranitar let's finish this quickly, use hyperbeam," said Ash
"Espeon use hyperbeam," said Virgil
Both hyperbeam connected with each other. Tyranitar's attack overpowered Espeon knocking her out instantly
"Espeon is out" declared referee
"Nice job Tyranitar, take rest" said Ash as he recalled him back
"You are my only hope" said Virgil as he sends his newly evolved Eevee
"Syl" said Sylveon
"Virgil, did your Eevee evolved" asked Ash
"Yes, but not my main one," said Virgil
"Go" said Ash as he sends his flying and steel type.
"What pokemon is that," asked Virgil
"Corviknight, a flying and steel type from Galar region, " said Brock
"Corviknight vs Sylveon let the battle begin, " said referee
" Sylveon use fairy wind " said Virgi
"Corviknight, use aerial drill," said Ash
Corviknight dodged fairy wind and then used drill peck and aerial ace combo. Aerial drill striked Sylveon dealing good amount of damage
" Corviknight use metal sound, " said Ash as Corviknight releases sound waves that connected with Sylveon's disarming voice and turned it into sparkling dust.
"Now use flash cannon, " said Ash
"Sylveon use moonblast " said Virgil
Sylveon spreads its feelers wide open, and an image of the moon appears behind it. It then forms an orb of pink energy in front of its mouth, and fires it at Corviknight. Corvikniused its wing to deflect the moon blast and Corviknight then used flash cannon. Moonblast and flash cannon exploded giving Corviknight a chance to execute brave bird. Just before Sylveon could evade the attack, corviknight slammed into her sending her crashed into the wall behind Virgil.Sylveon then used psyshock that Corviknight dodged easily.
"Corviknight use giga bird," said Ash
"Giga bird," asked Virgil
"Yeah, combo of giga impact and brave bird. " said Ash as this deadly combination hit its mark and knocked out Sylveon. After this, screen declared Ash winner of this round.Corviknight landed in front of Ash
"Nice job, our training paid off," said Ash as he recalled his pokemon
"You did amazing job Sylveon," said Virgil as Sylveon licked him
"You were great Virgil," said Ash
"You too. Your pokemon literally defeated me " said Virgil happily
"Thanks " said Ash
Only last battle of top sixteen round is pending. So far Paul defeated Barry, Gary defeated Conway, Morrison defeated Nando, Tobias defeated Tyson and few other unknown trainers competed against each other. It's time for Max to claim its victory over Dino. Dino on other hand is no push over.
"Trainers send your first pokemon, " said referee
"Krookoodile, battle time" said Dino
"Breloom go," said Max
Battle between Breloom and Krookoodile started. Krookoodile started with dig. Breloom
jumped in the air and prepared for force palm. Shadow claw and force palm connected with each other. Breloom and Krookoodile repelled each other back. Krookoodile and Breloom then used dragon claw and mach punch.
Krookoodile used stone edge which Breloom countered using stone edge as well. Breloom then used bullet seed which Krookoodile countered with dig. Seeing the movement of Krookoodile, Breloom jumped in the air and aimed leech seed on Krookoodile. Upon successfully landing leech seed vines surrounded Krookoodile and started to sap energy. Taking the advantage Breloom used bullet seed striking Krookoodile. Krookoodile then used stone edge in defense that striked Breloom. Breloom get up and then used focus blast which Krookoodile answered with dragon pulse. Both attacks collided and results into smoke. Taking the advantage of smoke Krookoodile used dig and then slashed Breloom using dragon claw.
"Breloom can you battle," asked Max to which it nodded and then Breloom used mach punch. Krookoodile opened its massive jaw and used fire fang making it cry in pain. Krookoodile is holding Breloom too hard. Flames engulfed Breloom. "Breloom use force palm, into the mouth, " said Max
Breloom endured the attack and then used force palm which made Krookoodile scream.in pain and flew towards Dino. As a finishing touch both pokemon launched dragon pulse and solar beam that passed each other and striked each of them knocking out each other.
Next battle happened between Camerupt and
Seismitoad which once again results into dual
knockout. Dino then sends his Darmanitan which Max's Swampert defeated easily.
Dino sends his Cofagrigus and Max sends his Absol. Clash between Cofagrigus and Absol started with shadow ball and psycho cut which switched to shadow claw. Absol used psycho cut which Cofagrigus defended using night shade. For next five minutes duel between the two pokemon continued until Absol knocked out Cofagrigus. Before Cofagrigus fainted, it used destiny bond making Absol knocked out as well. Next battle took place between Mandibuzz and Swampert. Mandibuzz defeated swampert as he was tired due to previous battle. Max then sends his Grovyle.
Mandibuzz used dark pulse that Grovyle evaded attack easily due to his speed. Once Grovyle dodged the attack and then jumped in the air before striking mandibuzz with leaf blade. Mandibuzz is falling on the field until it balanced itself and used brave bird. Grovyle used aerial ace and x-scissor combo. Brave bird and x-scissor clashed with each other. Mandibuzz proved powerful than Grovyle. Mandibuzz throws Grovyle in the air and the striked him with steel wing. Grovyle stood back and the used solar beam and Mandubuzz dodged it using double team and used sky attack. Grovyle jumped in the air and then used leaf storm making Mandibuzz crashed on the field.
Without any delay Mandibuzz used brave bird and striked Grovyle taking it in the air along with it. Once Grovyle is in air it used leaf blade to get free and gain distance. Once Grovyle gained distance he used energy ball that Mandibuzz deflected and successfully striked Grovyle with steel wing back to back.
"No Grovyle, " said Max in worry as Mandibuzz transitioned to brave bird and striked Grovyle. Grovyle flew high in the and landed in front of the Max with loud thump.
"Grovyle, can you battle" asked Max but there is no answer. Few moments later, Grovyle's shoulder moved a little bit.
"It seems Grovyle is not completely out of the battle," said the announcer. Dino already commanded Mandibuzz to execute sky attack. Grovyle with all his strength stood up and then leaf on his body started to glow white and its whole body glows yellow and sparkles, healing all of Grovyle's injuries.
"And with synthesis, Grovyle healed itself. We have to see if he can flip the results of the battle," said announcer
Grovyle said its name loudly and then light blue waves of energy start swirling around Grovyle. Grovyle started to change shape and once its transformation complete there stood Sceptile instead of Grovyle.
"Let's finish this battle quickly, use brave bird" said Dino. Sceptile then lowered its body and then sprinted towards Mandibuzz and once Mandibuzz is near Sceptile it uses leaf blade that striked Mandibuzz making it crash on the field. Mandibuzz then tried to execute sky attack which Sceptile countered with leaf storm. Mandibuzz cut through the attack and approached Sceptile. Sceptile evaded the attack and used newly learned dual chop making Mandibuzz crashed on the field. As Mandibuzz tried to fly once again, Sceptile used dual chop followed by night slash and and then launched dragon rage that knocked out Mandibuzz.
"Scep" said Sceptile as he used synthesis once again healing his injuries
"Sceptile, you were amazing out there," said Max making Sceptile growl in friendly tone
"Take a well deserved rest" said Max but Sceptile insisted to battle
Dino then sends his Druddigon. Duel between started with dual chop and dragon claw after which it transitioned to Sceptile using leaf storm and Druddigon using dragon claw. Druddigon easily able to stop leaf storm and used dragon rush. Sceptile outrun Druddigon with speed and landed continuous leaf blade. Druddigon use double team surrounding Sceptile. Sceptile used leaf storm in all direction destroying copies of Druddigon. Druddigon then fired dragon rage which Sceptile countered with dragon rage as well.
Druddigon then used dragon claw and Sceptile used leaf blade. Unknown to Max and Sceptile, Druddigon used the new move that they didn't saw earlier. It is flamethrower that engulfed sceptile. This attack knocked out Sceptile.
"You did good job, take a well deserved rest," said Max
"Scep" said Sceptile as he got recalled by Max
Max then sends his Kirlia. Battle between the two pokemon stared as Druddigon used dragon rage. Kirlia dodged it using teleport and used confusion.
"Break out of it and use flash cannon" said Dino but its of no use.
Kirlia then used shadow ball and dazzling gleam that knocked out Druddigon instantly. Making Max winner of the round. With this final round crowd erupts in excitement and cheered for Max
"With our top sixteen battle finished. I present you the trainers who move to next round and their matchups " said Freddy as big screen displayed names of Ash, Max, Paul, Gary, Morrison,Tobias and two other trainers. And matchups are as follows. Ash will be battling Gary, Paul is against Max, Morrison is against Tobias and two Unova native unkbown trainers.
"Gary, we are against each other once again" said Ash
"Yes, and I want you to give you all. I don't want that you hold yourself back. " said Gary
"Are you sure, " asked Ash
"Yes, my aim is not to be a league winner, I just partcipated to make my pokemon stronger. " said Gary
"I want to give your all. No matter which pokemon you will choose, I just want you to win" said Gary
"Don't worry, I will give my best " said Ash
"But why don't you want to win the league," asked Ash
"Because, my preferences changed. For me it was a matter of pride. But now things changed, and I want to understand about the mysteries of pokemon world" said Gary
"But, it would be fun if we both battle in the finals " said Ash
"I know, but I will battle you when you will become a champion" said Gary
"Let's rest for today, tomorrow is a new day for us" said Ash
