Chapter 6: Everyone's Safe but the Ships Aren't So Sound
Disclaimer: If I owned Pokemon, Hop would be a side character instead of the rival.

(A/N: I'm currently rereading the whole Pokespe manga from Ch.1 so I can get a better feel for the character's personalities again. Currently on like ch.55 so bear with me.)

General

The S.S. Anne slowed down to the point that it looked like a giant hovercraft 50 meters above the water. Red told the pokemon that were helping keep the ship in the air to slowly let up their attacks and eventually the whole ship made contact with the salty waters of Mossdeep City.

The passengers and trainers there collectively let out a sigh of relief, and the tension across the ship seemed to dissipate almost immediately. It was around then that a flock of Wingull and Pelipper who had been curiously circling the flying ship decided to rest on the railings as the curious phenomena that was the hovering S.S. Anne went back to familiar shipdom.

On the other hand, much rockier ships were about to set sail as Yellow came back onto the deck accompanied by ChuChu to check on everyone. To her dismay, she saw Red's two new partners uncomfortably too close to her Red. She thought to herself "I can't be selfish and tell them that Red is mine… but then I don't know what to do with this pain in my chest then."

As Yellow was visibly struggling with dealing with the number of rivals she had tripling, Blue didn't miss a beat and instantly sensed what Yellow was thinking of the whole situation. With the adrenaline mostly wearing off for her, she tried to signal to Yellow with her eyes "I know exactly how you feel here Yellow, how about we work together and get rid of these new rivals before we have our final showdown?"

Yellow did not have an idea what Blue was trying to do with her eyes and gave her a look of saintly concern and signaled back "Are your eyes okay Blue? I'll come try to take care of you when things settle down." Blue exasperatedly sighed to herself and looked down with her hand covering her face as she shook it in frustration.

Meanwhile, Red was clearly oblivious as always to the whole exchange and rushed over to Yellow to make sure that she was okay. He lifted her up gently to inspect that she hadn't received any bruises on her normally flawless skin. When he was satisfied with the inspection he left a noticeably Redder Yellow on the ground and remarked "great, I'm so glad you're okay Yellow! I was worried that the rocking of the ship might have made something fall onto you."

Red was perplexed to find that Yellow wasn't making eye contact with him anymore and he could have sworn he heard something along the lines of "I'm not a kid anymore Red" and also "Can we do stuff like this in private at least?" But that couldn't be right, in theory, neither statements would make sense for Yellow to say to him.

Platina and Mei saw Red's interactions with Yellow and both had reactions that were a mix of, who is this new girl to Red, and he must be great catch if so many beautiful girls like him. Platina made a solemn promise to herself that she'd have her family's best investigators look into Red's background so he could be properly vetted as her first boyfriend. Mei on the other hand, walked right between Yellow and Red and lightly stumbled onto Red's chest.

"Sorry Red, I'm feeling a bit weak in the legs after all that stress, is it okay if I lean on you for a bit?" Mei whispered out in a subtly seductive voice that only Red could hear. Red's good-nature shone through here and he immediately put an arm around her shoulder and said in full seriousness "Are you alright Mei? I'll carry you somewhere you can rest. Don't worry about us getting off the ship, the captain is an old friend of mine and I can let him know you need a moment." The combination of his genuine concern and how close his face was to hers made Mei blush uncontrollably out of embarrassment and uncharacteristic shyness and she quickly retreated a step back.

"Haha sorry Red, I'm feeling a little better now so you don't have to go that far for me" Mei exclaimed as she slightly panicked about how to steady her beating heart. She was surprised that she was the one being so flustered when she had originally been the one to go on the offense. "Not good not good, I've got to be more composed around Red, it's usually not this hard to get along with my other guy friends so I let my guard down." she mused to herself.

Meanwhile Blue wanted to get Red's attention and made a loud AHEM sound from where she was standing. "Well if we're all done with Red, I'd like to remind everyone that we're now in Hoenn and that certainly wasn't where our original mission was headed. We should contact the Professor and see if he has any idea what just happened."

Blue may have seemed like the responsible one on the outside, but internally she was barely holding her temper. "These little witches just come over and think they can take Red away from me? It's my thing to be the flirty and coy one, so this Mei girl better watch her back…"

Pika observed all of this and just sighed [Knowing Red, he probably thinks nothing extra of what Blue just said, actually scratch that, he probably thinks all of his new partners get along swimmingly.] With that, Pika decided to go over and play with ChuChu and forget about all of his master's silly self-imposed problems.

As these shenanigans were going on, the ship finally docked at Mossdeep city's harbor and the captain announced "Hello passengers of the S.S. Anne, we are deeply sorry for the scare that the legendary pokemon Tornadus brought upon everyone here. I am glad that everyone made it out of this ordeal safely. Please give your thanks to Red, the trainer who helped save everyone here. Without his efforts, we honestly would have had a much scarier emergency on our hands. Furthermore, we've radioed the control tower in Mossdeep City and made last minute arrangements for anyone who has been injured to be treated by the best medical professionals and pokemon at the Mossdeep hospital. We hope you will ride with us in the future."

With that message, this little disaster was averted and the group, with Red as the lead, started making their way off the ship. That's when Red's phone went off, he clicked the accept button, and heard the panicked voice of Professor Oak say "Red, are you okay? I have urgent news for you"

End of Chapter 6

(A/N: Chapter 6 came out at a relatively good pace I think compared to the last one. No promises on when the next one will be out. I want to make sure I have ideas before I write so sometimes that might mean a really short turnaround and other times it might be a lot longer. I hope you enjoyed this chapter as well as I am having a blast rereading the pokespe manga and hopefully getting caught up to the present day. I think I ended on the Arceus Arc back when I was following it.)
