Chapter 10: Time to Relisia Red's Attraction
(A/N: Can't believe this series is finally hitting the 10th chapter. Hope y'all have been enjoying the ride so far. As I was writing up my 10th chapter, I decided to finally change the story's name to Red's Little Harem Adventure to better reflect the point of the story. The previous Unovan story focus is clearly not the only region of focus anymore so I didn't want to scare people away who weren't fans of stories in Unova. General
As the jet was coming to a stop on the runway, the team collectively started to tense up a bit in apprehension towards what potential problems Neo Aqua/Magma, and whoever else was involved, would bring.
The team exited the jet and went through the private airfield to a vehicle that was waiting to escort them to their destination of choice.
As the one most acquainted with the city, Sapphire lead the team to Slateport City's port because it was the place she had run ins with criminal teams in the past.
After being dropped off from the private transport vehicle, the team saw the massive S.S. Tidal at the end of the nearby pier and Sapphire signaled them to follow her as she headed straight for the ship.
It was a shame that the squad was here for a serious mission, otherwise right now Platina, Blue and Mei were keenly interested in checking out how nice the facilities on the S.S. Tidal were.
Halfway through their walk along the pier, a Wingull swooped down towards the group and Pika suddenly raised his tail in alert in preparation to defend his trainer from the … decidedly weak looking pokemon.
That's when Sapphire cried out happily "Peeko you came to welcome us!"
The Wingull had a silly smile on his face as he landed on Sapphire's head and delightedly pointed his wing towards an area on the pier.
There stood an old looking man with magnificent the kind of magnificent facial hair one would expect from a weathered sailor.
"Mr. Briney! You didn't have to come out to meet us." Sapphire respectfully told Mr. Briney as she walked over and handed Peeko back. Although Peeko could have easily flew back to Mr. Briney's shoulder, he seemed to enjoy having some skinship with Sapphire and at that moment Red had the odd thought of "I wouldn't mind being held like that" cross his mind before he perished the thought.
"Sapphire, Peeko saw you from a mile away and let me know that an old friend was coming, of course I'd come greet you!" Mr. Briney gave a hearty laugh as he greeted Sapphire.
He then looked behind her and saw that she had came with a different group from the usual.
"Did you have a fight with Ruby? I see you're traveling with another handsome young man eh." Mr. Briney whispered to Sapphire on the side as he subtly looked over at Red.
Red may not have caught the subtle look Mr. Briney was teasingly giving Sapphire, but the other girls caught it from a mile away.
Blue in particular, was extra on guard as the last thing she wanted to deal with was more attractive girls going after her beau.
Sapphire blushed briefly, although it wasn't clear if this was out of embarrassment with Ruby or Red, and whispered back "o-of course not, this time it's serious business Mr. Briney."
"Har har, of course of course, I figured you wouldn't drop by unannounced if it wasn't for something urgent Sapphire." Mr. Briney was amicable towards Sapphire's response which overflowed with youth.
Sapphire then proceeded in a more serious tone "Have you heard of any rumblings from criminal organizations like perhaps a certain Team Aqua or Magma? I figured you would hear about them first as you are always a part of the hustle and bustle of Slateport City's main sea hub."
Mr. Briney's face hardened immediately, in a way that couldn't be ignored by the rest of the team "I see… so that's what you're here for. I know you're a young adult now Sapphire but I still feel bad unloading this kind of burden onto you, if you still want to back out now, it's not too late to avoid trouble this time."
Sapphire nodded immediately and with a light smile and a somewhat resigned look on his face Mr. Briney continued "Very well, assuming that this is your team for this mission, I actually do know about this "Neo" Team Aqua and Magma. I heard from my crew members after we had disembarked that some suspicious individuals were overheard talking about how they were here after coming from Mossdeep City to Lilycove City, and then boarding my ship with supposed stolen pokemon in tow to get to Slateport City."
"The nerve of these hooligans to try to create problems in my city and even my ship this time. Luckily my crew made the wise decision to monitor these individuals and track them afterward instead of telling me first, or else I would have let Peeko give them hell and it would have potentially put our valuable passengers at risk as well."
Red's team was shocked to hear that Neo Aqua/Magma were bold enough to even sneak aboard a public and famous ship like the S.S. Tidal to conduct their smuggling.
Sapphire nodded with a troubled look on her face and asked "where did your crew see them heading towards?"
That's when Mr Briney's expression turned the grimmest it had during this whole conversation. "They headed to the contest hall where the super contest is being held later today."
"The contest hall?" Was the collective thought in the group as they wondered what they could be planning at a contest hall.
"My crewmembers lost track of them shortly after they got close to the contest hall as some idol there is having a huge public event right now. They did manage to overhear something about stealing the best quality contest pokemon before the goons slipped into the crowd."
Red realized that if these events were being described in the present tense, there wasn't much time to waste.
He bowed towards Mr. Briney in a respectful manner and told him "Thank you Mr. Briney, those people at the contest might be in trouble as we speak so we'll be heading over there to help them ASAP!"
Mr. Briney nodded in approval and with that the team quickly followed Sapphire in the direction of the Super Contest Hall as Mr. Briney's wishes to be safe followed them from behind.
As they headed towards the hall, Platina made sure to look around for anything that stood out as unusual but oddly enough Slateport City looked like just your usual everyday port city.
That is… until she saw an incredibly beautiful turquoise-haired girl with cloud styled bracers and shorts paired with a sky colored partial mini-skirt being surrounded by men around Red's age.
"Hey Re-" Platina was about to ask for Red's advice on what to do about the girl, when she noticed that Red had already made his move to help her out of her predicament.
With a wry smile, Platina acknowledged that this was par for the course for the man that she had fallen in love with.
The girl being beseeched right now was a contest idol named Lisia and she wasn't actually in any real trouble. She was currently on her way to a contest exhibition performance and some of her more … passionate fans had stopped to talk to her.
They were more persistent than the usual fans and some of them were asking her to "scout" them to be her boyfriend or to give them private contest training.
She didn't really know how to easily turn them down until she saw Red walking towards her with a large group of girls right behind him.
Well there's a guy who definitely can treat a girl right… with that she made a spectacular move and called out towards Red.
"Sorry guys, my BOYFRIEND is here to escort me to the match!"
Lisia then ran over and proceeded to glomp Red and loop her arm through his.
While she didn't have amazing breas…personalities, as a whole package she was so overwhelmingly attractive from the cute idol outfit, endearing smile, and perfectly balanced proportions.
Poor Red didn't stand a chance and he turned the reddest he had during this whole adventure, which was definitely not missed by his teammates who had watched this all play out with mouths agape.
"Sorry about this buddy, what's your name, and could you play along for just a bit pleaseee?" Lisia said with a coy wink that she used to convey the ruse to her fans. This had the unfortunate side effect of nearly full paralyzing Red and all he could do was utter out his name as he was shocked by the series of events.
"Red and I have to get on to the exhibition guys, I'm really sorry about this, I hope you come cheer for me at my show!" Lisia made sure that the message got through. This was perhaps too effective as her fans were left with devastated expressions as they muttered out things like "Who is this Red guy… I need to tell everyone on the fansite…" and "How could this Red bastard take our Lisia away…"
Lisia took their shock as an opportunity to get away and she dragged Red in tow with her. The rest of Red's partners managed to break free of their shock as well and followed Red in an attempt to … rescue their boy.
When the group got far enough, Lisia turned towards Red and the group and looked at them apologetically. "Sorry about that Red and friends, I really didn't know how to get out of that situation… I think that this might blow over by the end of the day but since I'm going to be busy with multiple contest events, could I borrow Red for today?" She gave a sincere pleading look towards the group.
Her idol title certainly wasn't just for show, even the saltiness that the girls were feeling over the situation was temporarily forgotten due to Lisia's sheer cuteness. "W-well if it's just for today …" Yellow was heard muttering out in an absentminded fashion.
Lisia didn't wait for the rest of them to reply and she cheerfully declared "Thank you so much! As a show of my thanks, I'll get you guys front row access to my exhibition show and also you can participate in today's super contest or spectate from the front row too if you want!"
Blue, who was about to strongly disagree with Red's abrupt abduction was promptly stopped by Platina and Mei who reminded her "Blue, I know what you're thinking right now, but we needed access to the contest area to investigate, this is our chance!"
Blue didn't like where this was going but begrudgingly let the mission take precedent over her feelings and she nodded her agreement.
The rest of the team took this chance to introduce themselves and also mentioned that they were here to investigate some suspicious individuals.
Lisia understood that both parties had their circumstances here so she decided to not inquire further for now but she then turned her attention to the poor lad who she was still holding currently.
"Oh wow, now that I get a closer look at him he's not only good looking but it also seems like his Pikachu is really close to him. No wonder he's so popular with all these girls. I wonder…" Lisia thought to herself.
"Sorry for borrowing your boyfriend… uh… wait who's boyfriend is Red?" Lisia asked with a mischievous look hidden underneath her perfect smile.
"!"This caused a large spike in the crime coefficient in the group… jokes aside this definitely raised the tension in the area and this certainly was not the kind that would raise the affinity of the group.
All the girls besides Sapphire looked at each other and there was a fierce competitive spirit burning in all of them.
Sapphire who was still new to the group spoke up first "Oh none of us are dating Red" she said bluntly.
Red wasn't surprised by this answer, but what surprised him was when Lisia pulled him even closer and said "I guess there's no problem if I borrow him for today … and maybe longer!"
Then without giving him a chance to respond she interwove her fingers with his and lightly dragged him along as they headed towards her exhibition.
Once again, the girls were at their wits end and if one listened closely the muttering of "it's just for today, it's just for today" could be heard from one of them.
As they were walking, Lisia explained that she was about to do a solo exhibition to build up hype for the afternoon Super Contest Spectacular taking place at the Super Contest Hall.
She brought out her Altaria Ali who she had apparently raised from a young age and that's when the resemblance in her costume and Altaria became extremely apparent.
"Wow she looks like Altaria personified" was Red's first thought.
When they arrived at the venue, Lisia slipped backstage and told them where to sit. There were some questioning looks from the staff that saw her drag Red in, but they were used to Lisia's antics and assumed he was another promising trainer that she had scouted for today's contest.
The exhibition started as soon as Lisia got on stage and waved to the crowd. The large uproar of cheers made it apparent how unusual it was for the dexholder group to meet someone this famous.
Lisia began showing off advanced tricks in tandem with Ali as she hopped on his back and soared through the air while standing upright.
Her synchronization with her partner pokemon was not just a show, it was a result of a lifetime of trust and friendship.
The crowd roared in admiration as lines like "You're my inspiration for all things pokemon Lisia!" and "I love contests because of you Lisia!"
The show went on and Lisia demonstrated multiple amazing combinations with Ali and capped it off with a mega evolution pixelated return which spread the stadium with lovely pink hearts signifying the bond between Ali and Lisia.
As the hearts rained down through the stadium though, the girls one by one noticed that something that looked suspiciously like hearts were in Red's eyes as he stared at Lisia from the crowd… why did it seem like Red was actually attracted to Lisia?! Was the final collective thought that pervaded the group as the show began to end, the real battle was just beginning.
