Chapter 11: The Girls Have a Hard MisRed

(A/N: So it would seem that there was some backlash against me adding Lisia into the story from last chapter. To clear things up, Lisia is the contest girl from the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games, she shows up in the Pokemon Adventures manga and is Wallace's niece. Here's a pokemon card image of her to show what she officially looks like /images/I/51% .jpg. Anyway, I won't guarantee it but personally I don't usually like original characters in my stories because I think there are so many options already available in the pokemon universe so it's very unlikely I'd put my own characters into this story. Hope y'all enjoy this one as always.)

The Girls

Wait a second, when has Red ever explicitly shown interest in a girl?

Each partner besides Sapphire was having a mini panic attack as they suddenly entered an unprecedented crisis.

Sure, Lisia was on an idol level of attractiveness, but that didn't mean that she was particularly more attractive than any of the girls here overall.

Plus! He didn't even know her that well, all she did was drag him into her problems and then he had to go along with it.

Blue and Mei took some mental notes along the lines of "Does that mean I have to be aggressive like that to get Red's attention?"

Yellow was not having an easy time with accepting that her role as one of the oldest friends Red had was being ignored in favor of a girl they had just met a few hours ago.

Platina on the other hand, was at odds about whether or not to continue focusing on the mission or to start putting some personal plans into motion to win Red back from his apparent crush.

The biggest problem was that Red looked like he couldn't take his eyes off of Lisia as she gave her performance to the adoration of hundreds of fans.

Even if I had a plan… how would I be able to get his attention without making him upset, thought Platina as she dejectedly decided to focus on the mission instead.

She's not even particularly busty or anything… so is it the outfit? Blue secretly made a note to show more skin in her future outfit choices. But deep inside she knew that Red wouldn't be so easily swayed just by some more revealing clothing which left her at her wits end as to why he looked so enamored.

General

Lisia finished her performance with an elegant hop down from Mega Altaria's back as Ali swooped down and game to a clean stop in the center of the stage. She gave a graceful bow and then, after scanning the crowd and making eye contact, blew a kiss at Red.

"OHMYGOD LISIA JUST BLEW A KISS AT ME" "NO THAT WAS FOR ME BAKA", comments like this could be heard from the rabid fans who were standing in Red and Co.'s general area.

"Make sure to come see me and the other contestants compete at this afternoon's Super Contest Spectacular!" Lisia gave a wink and headed to backstage.

The crowd's excitement levels were palpable and the mob started exiting the exhibition venue. They were clearly making their way to the site of the Super Contest Spectacular.

Red and his upset partners decided that they should go see Lisia (for entirely different reasons at this point), and headed to backstage.

After showing security their backstage passes, they were admitted to the makeshift dressing room area and told to wait there.

When they entered into the room they saw a cloud shaped mirror and a bunch of Altaria themed toys with Ali himself resting on a big Swablu plushie. His fluffy plumage basically looked like a plush in itself at this point.

Everyone was busy admiring the dedication to the cloud motif when the curtain of the changing area came open and Lisia came out in her typical shorts with cloud-themed skirt flares and… a cloud themed bra on?!

"WHA!" Red quickly looked away and felt tons of laser-like glares lock-on to the back of his head as he was certainly in range for a one-hit KO from a multitude of his partners.

Blue actually was about to perform this deed for real as she reached for Nido's pokeball and mouthed the words "Horn Drill".

Yellow caught on immediately and restrained Blue again as a fainted Red would be the luckiest outcome if Blue actually followed through on these actions.

Blue eventually gave up after some reasonable words about teamwork and friendship from the lovable Yellow, but not before muttering "at least let me go for his eyes Yellow…"

Yellow briefly hesitated for the smallest of moments but then decided to keep to her principles of keeping her crush alive and vetoed that final request.

Blue settled down, but that's when Lisia spoke out with an embarrassed tone "I'm so sorry guys, I thought it was only Red that was going to be visiting me."

This time, Yellow actually had to send out Omny the Omastar to hold back Blue as she was certainly about to lose it.

Red was already doing his best to avoid his eyes so he didn't catch the nuance in Lisia's wording but the other girls looked quite upset about it.

Lisia expertly read the room and clapped her hands together gently. Then proceeded to give her best pleading look "It was a joke guys sorry about that! I just wanted to tease Red a little bit since he's so darn cute."

Her sincere look betrayed the crafty words she said but even with all that, the girls decided to let it go and focus on Red again.

Red managed to gasp out "Lisia can you please put on a top!"

Lisia nodded and went back into the changing room and came back out with a similar top that was a bit more extravagant than the exhibition one. This one had rainbow trim on the clouds that made it look like a rainbow was mixing with the clouds. It gave an exquisite feel and complimented her skirt/shorts well.

Red got the confirmation and turned around and was stunned once again. He vowed to find more guy friends after this whole mission was over as his heart was having trouble handling this many beautiful women on a daily basis.

"I hope there aren't too many more girls joining my team Professor Oak…" Red thought to himself. (A/N: Oh Red you poor bastard)

"Alright everyone, I'm going to lead you to the Super Contest Spectacular, it should be starting fairly soon so any of you can participate if you're interested!" Lisia gave a big smile and began leading them towards the next venue.

She gave a bit of mercy to the poor girls by this time just taking the lead instead of dragging Red with her.

The other girls took this opportunity to question the poor boy…

"So Red… what's the deal with Lisia?" was the collective question that came from the girls.

Red gave his signature clueless look and replied "The deal with Lisia is to be her fake boyfriend for the day right? Then we can all go to the contest and catch Team Neo in the act."

*Sigh* Platina gave an uncharacteristic outward reaction to Red's neutron star level of density. Normally she'd try to be respectful and tactful, but today's actions were clearly different from the usual so she wanted to get right to the root of the issue.

"Red, we saw how you were staring at Lisia all throughout the exhibition today, don't you have something to tell us?" Platina said with her frustration barely withheld.

"Oh yes I was observing her closely all today, I mean it's obvious why I'd look at her closely right?" Red said innocently.

"Oh my dear Arceus, Red do we have to spell it out for you?" Blue took over the conversation and walked right up to her oldest friend.

"U-uhh… yes please?" Red was at a lost at why his partners seemed more exasperated the longer the conversation went on

"Fine Red, I'd have preferred if you admitted it yourself but I'll make it clear then. Why are you falling head over heels for a girl you just met? We're here for a mission not to hook up with girls you just met" Blue let out an emotional outburst, while still managing to hint to the new girls in Red's evergrowing harem to know their places.

"Y-yeah, you should only be looking at girls that you spend time with!" Mei and Platina made sure to get this little jab in before Blue's words became the official position.

"Wait guys, falling for a girl I just met? Who are you talking about?" Red gave the most sincerely confused look that the girls had ever seen… and that's when they realized that they might have had a hard misRed.

"Don't you like Lisia…? You were ogling her all day today…" Was the general sentiment given by the girls (including even Sapphire who couldn't believe his density).

"Lisia? I was just taking mental notes on how to copy her charisma in my pokemon training so I can inspire future trainers!" Red unapologetically looked proud of his statement.

Red's partners nearly facepalmed in unison as they realized that Red was indeed… an idiot.

To understand Red's thoughts let's have a brief look back to Red's perspective during the exhibition match

Red

As a trainer, I have always wanted to stand as the greatest role model for future pokemon trainers.

What does it mean to be the greatest role model?

To me, shining brightly, inspiring others, and raising their morale is something a great role model should exemplify.

Ever since I won the Kanto Pokemon League, I was constantly working on being a figure that others could look up to and emulate someday.

That's why when I met Lisia I finally found someone who I could learn from.

I mean sure, she's extremely attractive, but that's nothing new compared to the girls I've been constantly around.

I find myself more drawn to learning from how she inspires so many people to get into contests.

I hope that I can learn from her while we're hanging out today and do the same thing as her, in the context of being a great pokemon trainer.

Don't get me wrong, while she's attractive, I'm very certain I don't like her in a romantic sense.

My eyes are more drawn to her charisma and the inner competitor in me wants to learn as much as possible and not miss a single moment.

That's why… I'm not sure why I'm getting so much flak from the girls today.

I wouldn't ever abandon the mission with all of my precious friends just because of some girl I met that day. C'mon guys don't you have more faith in me, I definitely put more value in my friends so even if I liked Lisia it wouldn't interfere with our mission.

With these thoughts in mind, I resolved myself to address this topic with them when I got a chance.

General

Red finished explaining his thought process on observing Lisia and the girls had a collective sigh of relief. For better or for worse, this was exactly what one would expect from Red. Only he could get into a lucky situation with a super idol and still focus on his love for pokemon and helping others.

They decided to move on from this little misunderstanding and not continue to plant the idea of Lisia as a potential love interest in Red's head anymore. They knew that there were already more than enough rivals to deal with.

Blue decided that to move past this event she would go catch up with Lisia and ask her some questions. Platina also agreed to the idea and went along with Blue. She told the rest of the group that she had extensive contest experience so she'd join in the spectacular so she could potentially bait out Team Neo's operatives and then do battle with them directly without risking random contestants.

Red agree that this was probably the smartest way to handle any potential conflict as the crowd would make it hard for a quick reaction from the land-based pokemon in Red's team.

Lisia had caught wind of the general nature of the conversation that had happened behind her when she had moved on ahead. As a great performer, she also had incredible hearing (which normally helped her sync with the music for her shows) so she knew that the girls had misunderstood.

"Sigh it's a shame that a catch like Red isn't into me… but I'm also an idol so there's not much I could do about it either way" Lisia thought to herself as she briefly flashed a slight frown on her usually always smiling face. She then righted herself and mentally reset herself for the spectacular that was about to happen.

After Platina made it clear that she'd compete in competitions, Lisia struck up a lively conversation with her. The excitement in the air was clear as she learned that Platina was actually a very accomplished contest competitor in the Sinnoh region. Along with Blue talking about general pokemon tricks that could be used in contests, the trio lead the rest of Red's team while talking about some of their favorite pokemon related topics.

Finally, after twenty minutes, they arrived at Slateport Cities Super Contest Hall and Lisia lead them to the preparation area.

There were tons of eager looking contestants preparing with their pokemon backstage… but that's when something… rather someone caught their eyes.

A gorgeous and mature looking girl with long legs was leaning against the wall with one foot resting against the wall as she fiddled with … a pokedex.

(A/N: I wonder if y'all have any guesses on who the "new" girl is! Hope you enjoyed this chapter and as always, I greatly appreciate any reviews and feedback you have for me. I take them into account when I come up with ideas week to week. Of course, I can't use them all and this is my story at the end of the day, but I hope some of you will get to see some elements and suggestions in past and future chapters! Also, in case the MisRed title was unclear, it's a reference to how fighting games often mention that when you make a bad guess you made a bad read or "misread". I've also shortened Team Neo Aqua/Magma to Team Neo going forward as that's technically the organization they belong to together.)
