She smiled as she looked over the deck, peering down at the dozens upon dozens of corpses piled up like a load of dirty laundry.
The sun was setting and the clouded sky gave a grey tinge to the vessel. Excella felt it cruise through the ocean. She smiled again. The ship they had boarded not long ago was first put into place by her Grandmother. She had used the ship as one of the first means of transport from country to country, establishing Tricell as a commercial provider overnight. It was fitting that the first international vessel that provided the globe with Tricell's products would also be the vessel to transport the very product that would help Excella reshape the world.
She smiled again.
Excella paused before turning from the window, catching her own reflection. She had been lucky in many ways. Her beauty was on par with a Grecian Goddess.
Her glacial eyes were fringed with perfect black lashes. Her slight pout that gave her lips the appeal and desire that any hot blooded man would want. Her immaculate ebony hair, tied in an extravagant bun would usually flow down to her back without a single strand out of place, glossed.
Her standing in the global pharmaceutical market had made her a key player in the international scene. She ran Tricell's African division with just as much efficiency as any of her male counterparts. Of course, Excella's success in her education and family advantages helped her in many ways, but she liked to believe that her overall success was her own doing.
'And His.'
As Excella turned, she saw the door open to reveal him.
Albert Wesker.
He was so handsome. He was more than handsome. He looked like he had been created in the image of God.
'Fitting, A God to My Goddess.'
They would rule together and the World would finally become a better place.
'Natural selection.'
Excella was a firm believer that nature was the strongest force in the world. Genetic engineering took what Mother Nature made and gave it a gentle nudge, allowing even the weakest human being to become a God on Earth. Las Plagas and the T-virus had proven this with fascinating results. She knew those who deserved life would be given it. Quite simply, she thought that most of human life was wasted. Drug addicts, prostitutes, and they are just the people from the streets. Governments turn their back on their countries. The planet was reaching breaking point, and with Uroboros, they could begin to heal it.
Excella was well aware that she was wealthy. But she had worked hard since the day she could to get what she wanted. Wesker had shared in her vision for a new world order.
'It has finally paid off.'
Albert approached her. She marvelled at his physique. His toned and broad masculine body was greatly presented in his tight black garment. She looked at the intense outline of his abs.
'Mmm he really is God-like!'
'Excella.' He said, smirking at her. She loved the way his mouth curled only at one end. His eyes she had never actually seen, but even through blacked out shades she could tell that they were piecing.
'Uroboros is finally going to announce itself to the world.' Excella said. Wesker stopped about a foot away from her with his hands behind his back.
'Such a gentleman.'
'Indeed, and what an eve for its appearance.' He replied.
Excella smiled again. His rhythmical voice vibrated through her ears and into her brain. She felt like she was under his spell.
'Excella…'
She was pulled out of her trance.
'Yes?'
'You have been important to this project…'
'Project seems an unfitting word. Salvation sounds much better. We are saving the world!'
'…and I will never forget your assistance. You have been incredibly useful in helping achieve the birth of the new world. All you've done will go down in the history of this day, informing others that the world was brought to a state of paradise through your hard work.'
Excella thanked him. She placed her hands back on the window ledge and stuck her chest out, looking at Albert with a flirty gaze.
'However…'
Excella's eyes widened. She had been around Wesker long enough to know that when he said "however", it meant severe consequences for the one it was spoken to. She remembered that fool Irving and his incompetence.
'I'm allowing you to take this opportunity. However, if you slip up, your life won't be worth living.'
The fool ended up injecting himself with a dominant-strain Plaga, turning into an abomination.
'Excella?'
She came out of her deep thought and stared at him.
'Yes?' She said nervously.
'If you are to exist in the new world, by my side, you need to prove yourself.'
'Oh No!'
He revealed a syringe filled with a black substance.
'Albert, please!'
Wesker smiled, his eyes glowed red from behind his shades.
'Excella, I know the risk involved but it's a necessary evil.' He held out the syringe to her.
She stared at it. Now she knew what it felt like to be chosen for "Testing." Only a certain genetic sequence was compatible with Uroboros. Tests showed that two in ten people possessed the correct genetic attributes to co-exist with Uroboros and gain super human abilities. The subjects who were incompatible became puppets to Uroboros, resulting in monstrosities.
She was trapped. She leaned away from the syringe held out in Wesker's gloved hand as if it gave off a repugnant smell.
'Albert, the risk is too high! You said yourself that I have assisted you greatly! I may not survive…'
'We must all be tested by the divine strength of Uroboros. Even I.'
Excella's heart pounded in her chest. She started to sweat. Her breathing quickened.
'Albert please!' She fumbled behind her and felt the brief case she kept his serum in. She clawed at the case managing to grab a syringe. She held it up and waved it at Wesker. She knew that his serum could be lethal if the dosage was wrong. She had just given him a dose, meaning a second injection would surely poison him.
'Keep back! I swear I will use this if you come near me with that!' She spat. Wesker edged back a step. He smirked.
'Excella, don't be foolish. You know what I'm capable of. This is a simple test which could lead to great power. There is a risk yes but think of the possibilities! You could become a true Goddess!'
Excella froze. Goddess? No, it was too risky!
'NO!'
She swung at him with the PG67A/W syringe. He easily dodged it but Excella retaliated with a strong right hand slap that took him by surprise. His head turned in the direction of her attack. He looked back at her, just in time to see her left hand bring the syringe down upon him. Excella didn't even see it coming.
He grabbed her wrist as it came towards him, squeezing it tightly. He then stabbed the Uroboros syringe into her stomach. She'd only just felt the pain in her wrist when he pulled it out of her.
She screamed.
She awoke.
THE PAIN!
Excella writhed around on the floor clutching at her gut. She turned and gasped. She lay next to the pile of corpses on the deck.
Now she understood.
Excella managed to pull herself to her feet, teetering on her stilettos. She stumbled around the corpses as held her stomach. She could feel Uroboros squirming around inside of her. She gasped. She was short of breath. She couldn't hear anything. Her vision was blurred. She saw two figures approach her and she could hear their muffled voices. They pointed grey objects at her. She sobbed.
'Why?! When I've done so much… All for you! Ahhhh!'
Suddenly Excella heard a booming voice echo through the ship. Albert… She couldn't make out exactly what he was saying but it was loud enough for her to recognise his voice.
She could hardly breathe! One of the figures she assumed was Chris shouted something. 'WATCH!', was all she could make out.
'Albert… You said we'd change this world together! Ahhh! WHY?!' She screeched falling on her hands and knees. She couldn't take it anymore. It felt like her insides where trying to push through her rip cage. Her skin felt white hot. She felt like she was going to vomit.
Excella heard Wesker say her name. She arched her back looking up to the sky.
'ALBERT!'
Quite. Floating. Black.
Can't see. What is this?
Naked. Heart beat. Dead?
Albert? What happened? Anyone there?
One week later...
Jessica Sherawat oversaw the clean-up operation of Umbrella's secret African Laboratory. With Excella and Wesker dead, thanks to her old partners Chris and Jill, Jessica had been left without an employer. Luckily for her, she had been approached by a mysterious woman, claiming to be Wesker's sister. She had hired Jessica to inflitrate this facility and recover something called "Uroboros".
Since she was being paid handsomly to be here and order a team around, Jessica felt like this was an easy pay check. Ordering the men to run around and box everything was kind of fun, especially as she hated getting her hands dirty.
Jessica wondered around the facilty, reaching a room with some tall specimen jars containing those orange flowers.
'Pretty'. She thought. Although having read some of the files in the Facility, she knew that those flowers containted a virus that was eventually christened "progenitor".
Jessica casually strolled over to a computer monitor and noticed it was still on. She jabbed at the keyboard and the screen lit up, flashing the Tricell logo. Jessica rolled her eyes. Tricell was about to nose dive considering that their sinister underbelly had been exposed by the BSAA to the general public. Luckily, her former employers hadn't come to clear up this facility yet, which made her job a whole lot easier.
Jessica sighed and observed some of the files on the computer screen. She noticed a flashing icon and clicked on it. It was an urgent message ordering all employees to evacuate and return to the Tricell Tanker.
'Interesting.'
After some more investigating, she found the location of a local port from which the Tanker had set sail. She also learned that the ship housed an aircraft carrier containing missiles, intended to spread Uroboros throughout the World. Jessica had to admit that she was glad Wesker's plan failed; she had seen some left overs of a victim of Uroboros, and it was absolutly vile. Having encountered other biological abonimations such as the T-Abyss virus, Jessica doubted that viral research was really worth it. I mean, who would want to end up like a mass of tentacles?
'Maam?' A soldier appeared before her.
'Yes?'
'We have located samples of the Uroboros virus.' Jessica smiled.
'Good, I want you to handle them with care. Is the rest of the facility secured?' The soldier nodded. Jessica started at the computer screen and noted the coordinates of the Tanker.
'I think i've found another location for you boys to play in.'
Meanwhile on Sein Island...
Alex Wesker had just received word that Jessica's team had arrived at Albert's Tricell cruiser. She was waiting to hear what had happened to her brother. Albert had told her of his intentions to use the old African Umbrella Laboratory that had been abandoned since the late 90's. Alex's team had recovered Uroboros samples there and were now investigating Tricell's commercial cruiser that had washed up on the coast.
'He could have changed the very face of this world.' She thought. The initial report had noted an aircraft carrier had left the ship, but it had crashed into a volcano.
Albert's body was missing, although Alex guessed that he was dead. Her investigation of the events that transpired the previous week had uncovered an almost incredulous tale; the plaga infection of Kijuku, the involvment of the BSAA, Tricell, that bafoon Irving, and Uroboros. She had caught wind of several important figures, such as Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, originally partnered with Albert in S.T.A.R.S back in Racoon City. They had both survived the week, along with the BSAA's African division members Sheva Alomar and Joshua Stone.
Unconfirmed reports implied that Albert died in the volcano, but with no visual evidence, Alex couldn't be sure. Given the survival of Redfield and the others, she doubted he had survived.
She was sad. Albert was the one person who shared her ideals. They were both children of the W Project, and both conspired to go against their creator, Spencer, after they discovered his machinations in their "manufacture." With Albert dead, Alex was the last of the Wesker children, and the only one left to realize their dream for the world.
Alex was drawn out of her thoughts by her phone ringing.
'Yes?'
'Miss Wesker, we have found something most unusual.' It was Jessica. Alex found the woman to be overtly provocative, but she could be relied upon to get the job done it seems.
'What is it?'
'We've found a survivor, and you'll never guess who it is...' Alex sighed.
'Dispense with the drama Jessica and tell me what you've found!" Jessica giggled on the other side of the phone, irritating Alex somewhat.
'Excella Gionne. She's alive.' Alex was taken aback. She had only met Excella breifly a long time ago, and knew of Albert's plan to use Excella's influence within Tricell to further his own agenda.
'Interesting... I wonder how she could of possibly survived?' Jessica sighed though the receiver.
'What should we do with her?' Alex smiled, she might have a use for Excella...
