One Year Later (Age 3 ½)
"Mokuton: Daijurin no Jutsu" Naruko shouts as wooden spikes explode from her arm wrapping around Jiraiya
"WHAT!" He shouts in surprise
"That's one for us grandpa" Naruto confidently remarks
"You two truly are surprising, but you are still a thousand years too young to take on me"
Poof He disappears in a burst of smoke revealing he was just a shadow clone.
"That's"... "So Not" "Fair" they disheartenedly say together.
"Alright that enough you three, dinners ready" Tsunade remarks with pride in your voice
"That smell you didn't" Naruto practically yells looking at her in disbelief
"Maybe" she retorted
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMEN" The twins shout then vanish in a blur of yellow.
"Sometimes I swear they already know the Hiraishin with how fast they are, you set aside bowls for us right?" He remarks as he falls to the ground
"Got them right here. They really did a number on you, i haven't seen you this tired since the war" she states looking at him
"You have no idea, 10 more minutes and they would have won, training them is on you tomorrow" he states with his voice full of pride for his grandkids
"Well what do you expect, look at their parents, both of them had chakra reserves that were off the charts." she retorts sarcastically
"Honestly they are already on the verge of jonin in strength individually; then when you put them together, practically nothing will stand in their way." he comments
"Back in the day we had to work our asses off everyday for years and now a couple of kids of just not even 4 can kick a jonins ass with ease; life is so not fair" she states dejectedly
"Don't sell yourself, those kids work out and dedication would make even Guy jealous" he interjects
"I still can't believe their Mokuton is so strong even without mastering earth and water" she comments
"Well that's the next step, their taijutsu is at a solid jonin level. Their ninjutsu is next and even though it's limited to the basic 4 (Clone, Substitution, Transformation and Body Flicker), shadow clones, rasengan, and their Mokuton; it is still no less impressive. But with their massive chakra reserves it will be where they shine as ninjas. Altho their genjutsu leaves a lot to be desired in comparison, most of the time to dispel them they have to flair so much chakra everyone in 100 miles if them will know were they are." he states
"That still surpasess chunin and places them at low jonin level" she comments
"Plus don't get about that either." he comments
"True I know their father was ashamed to use it, in fact he never used it because of his grandfather; but if they get them, they will truly be legends in the making." she mentions
"Regardless, how comes their medical training?" he inquires
"I was thinking tomorrow we begin with practical lessons and move out of theory and study" she asserts proudly
"They always learned better by doing, maybe i should do the same with their sealing" he states
"Just make sure to test have them test it with clones" she states seriously
"I know, I know"
1 ½ Years Later (5th Birthday)
"Alright you two,we are going into town to get the supplies for dinner, so behave and don't destroy the house while we are gone." Tsunade states
"Come on grandma we can take care of ourselves for a few hours" Naruto states
Naruko cuts in "Yeah, it's not like someone is going to find this place anyway"
"Alright just don't leave the house"
1 hour later
"I'm bored, want to go practice with our swords?" Naruto says
"Yep, lets go, your going down" Naruko responds
As the they approach the clearing they usually spar in they see the remnants of what a month of training looks like and naruto says "We should probably fix this before we start" as he looks at the hundreds of fallen trees, craters, scorch marks, puddles and chunks of earth everywhere
"Yeah we probably should". They both begin going through a few hand seals and the earth opens up swallowing the remnant of their last spar leaving the clearing devoid of all of the remnants.
"Cool" Naruto says "Now we can begin" Naruko finishes
As they stand on opposite sides of the clearing the both suddenly jerk their heads to the side and both stare off through the forest.
"You feel them too?" He asks "Yeah" She Replies
"Friendly?" She asks "Probably not feel their natures" he comments
"Three earths and a water, probably Iwa; 3 gennin and a jonin" She states
"Well we were already here for a fight, don't hold back" he states
"In your dreams would I let you do the work"
After a few moments the both tense with their hands ready to draw their swords, as the 4 shinobi Jump down from the trees and into the clearing.
Revealing 4 Iwa shinobi the genin consists of two boys and a girl about 13 or 14 in age, accompanied by a female jounin that looks to be about 30 wearing the typical red Iwa outfit.
The jonin speaks "Look at this, two little babies with swords, although they look kind of familiar." "Yellow hair, cerulean blue eyes" She gasps "You you couldn't be HIS KIDS" she rages and charges with a kunai straight for the twins.
With her blinded by rage she fails to notice both of them smirk as she plunges the kunai into Naruto's chest, and he says one word "Boom".
Suddenly both of them glow white and explode with the force of a dozen exploding tags, the explosion engulfs the whole clearing and surrounding area in a flash of light and defining sound.
5 Minutes Earlier With Jiraiya and Tsunade
Tsunade looks back to where their temporary house is and shivers, in thought 'I got a bad feeling about this.'
Jiraiya asks "something wrong princess?"
"Its nothing, I'm just nervous about leaving them on their own, we have never done this before" she replies
"Come now princess, we won't always be there for them; They have to grow up at some point, let's get some sake before we have to go back" he remarks while putting his arm over her shoulder.
"Alright, here's the bar, I just don't know though, I feel like sometimes we are pushing them too fast, they are only five for goodness sake, no kid their age should be doing what they are."
Suddenly as they are drinking away their worries a massive explosion can be heard and felt as it shook the whole town, and the direction was the same as their house.
Both suddenly bolt up from their seats and with speeds they didn't know they possessed, ran straight to where the explosion came from with on thought in their minds 'Naruto, Nuruko please be safe'
When they arrive at the edge of the exploding what they see breaks their hearts.
Tsunade just collapses onto her knees and she begins sobbing; and Jiraiya just freezes and thinks 'why'.
In the clearing what they saw was the twins holding each other tightly looking down at what could only be described as a pile of flesh and bone, crying and shaking. No matter how mature they are for their age no kid should have to look down to a mangled corpse that they created.
As Jiraiya gets over his shock and races to the center of the crater and places his hands on his grandchildren, they suddenly collapse into him and began sobbing "wa wa, we d-ddidn't mm mean to." he replies "I know, i know how you two are feeling the first kill is never easy in fact killing never is" he looks away into the distance reflecting on all he has done.
When he looks down at the kids and they finally look back he can see 4 red eyes with one tomoe in each looking back and they both collapse into unconsciousness.
The Twins suddenly wake up together in what appears to be a sewer junction shaped like a Y, Naruko speaks first "Where are we" he replies "I don't know" they grab each other's hands and set off down the hallway into the dark.
After what feels like a few hours they suddenly hear "Come my children do not be afraid, we have much to discuss" they look at eachother then begin sprinting towards the voice.
They arrive in what appears to be a large clearing and at the back is a large set of steel bars and in the center is a tag with the kanji for seal. Standing at the bottom is a man they know all too well, their father.
They say "You, You can't be here your dead" as the tense ready for a fight.
"Well you are correct I am dead but, I'm also not me, I'm an imprint I left behind to meet you when you were ready; although I thought you two would be a little older" as he says this he walks up to his children and puts a hand on their shoulders and they relax as he pulls them into a hug and says as he begins to cry.
"I'm sorry for not being there, and for the burden I placed upon your shoulders."
"No father should ever have to do this, let alone to his own kids."
Naruko starts "we forgive you" "we understand you had no choice" Naruto finishes.
As he lets go of the hug and steps back to get a good look at them, what he sees brings a tier to his face.
Standing in front of him are two kids, his son has spikey hair in the same style as his own, in fact he could have sworn he was looking at his younger self if it wasn't for the 3 whisker marks on each cheek. And he is wearing an orange t-shirt with a black zip sweatshirt on top with 3 orange stripes, and simple black workout pants with 3 matching stripes.
His daughter has much longer hair pulled back into twin pigtails with two long strands in the front like his own. Her outfit is nearly identical but is wearing a knee length black skirt with an orange border at the bottom, and skin tight black pants underneath.
He states "You two look adorable but, sadly time is short so we need to get to business."
He lets out a sigh and continues, "I'm sorry for what you had to see and do, no child should have to go through that."
Naruko speaks "You must think we are monsters for doing that" and she collapses to her knees and begins crying into her hands, Naruto and Minato both place a hand on her shoulders in a comforting and reassuring way.
"No you are not a monster, sadly killing is a necessity as a shinobi and I have done more than my fair share as well."
She lifts her head and hugs him tightly crying into his chest.
"Before you two came here did you notice anything different with your vision?"
Naruto replies "Yeah, when I looked back at grandpa, he was in black and white with a blue like flame inside of him." at this naruko nods her head into his chest in agreement.
Minato begins, "Where to start, What you unlocked was my bloodline, the bloodline of the Uchihas, the sharingan."
"Wait, the history books said you never belonged to a clan, and were an orphan." Naruto states in confusion.
"That is likely true due to my heritage. I never used the sharingan after I unlocked it; which is ironic. I always told my students to use every tool at their disposal or they were idiots. The reason though, was simple due to my grandfather leaving the village and becoming a traiter, it would have made my life very difficult to get past the stigma he left behind."
Naruko lifts her head and asks "Who was your grandfather?"
"Madara Uchiha." he answers with his voice full of regret and shame.
After a few moments Naruto sparks "well that makes sense, he is called the biggest traitor in Konoha's history."
"Now, the final thing I am here for. What do two know of the Kyuubi?"
Naruko answers, "Grandma said that it was extracted by a man in a mask after we were born and you and mom had to sacrifice your lives to stop it."
"Good, the masked man even after taking a rasengan to his chest, he still escaped, the worst part is, he was an uchiha claiming to be Madara."
"Now Kyuubi will you step forward please."
After he said this a large figure walked to the gates doors and laid his head back onto his paws.
"Hello kits"
"W-what is it doing here you defeated it." both twins mumble out.
"No, I never defeated him, i was forced to seal him a way"
Minato lets go of his kids and walks up to the gate and up it to the tag.
"What are you doing?" Naruko asks
"The attack was not his fault, and he was a good friend of Kushina's in her later years; so I'm going to release the first seal, you will have to ask Jiraiya for the other half he will have the key."
When he finishes, his right hand glows with kanji and he puts it onto the tag and yells "RELEASE" the tag when up in flames to reveal a spiral lock.
"Now my children, my time is up and I am fading, remember whenever you need a friend just meditate and look in wards, the Kyuubi will help you with his power when the time comes. I hope this meeting will make your lives a little easier, goodbye"
Both twins are crying and sob out "goodbye dad" and Minato fades away with one final hug to his kids.
"Kyuubi, it's nice to meet you but I think it's time we return to our grandparents; they must be worried sick about us." Naruko says looking at the large creature
"It is a fine kit, we will have time to talk later." the beast responds in a deep but soft voice.
Naruto speaks up "I have one question before we go, where are we exactly?"
"Your mindscape due to the seal on both of you your mindscape here has merged into one." The Kyuubi responds.
They both walk through the cage doors and hug his paw and mutter simultaneously "so soft"
"It's time to get kits, your grandparents are worried."
"Goodbye" they say and the area around them fades away.
Outside The Mindscape
"I don't understand their minds are both very active like they are conscious but they aren't. It makes no sense." Tsunade states worry clear in her voice with visible tier streaks down her face.
"Grandma" Naruko says "we're fine", "Better than fine" Naruto finishes.
Suddenly they are both pulled into a crushing hug by both Jiraiya and Tsunade.
"We were so worried you have been out for a few hours and weren't responding to anything."
Jiraiya speaks up as they release the hug "what was the last thing you remember?"
They respond alternation every other word unconsciously "we passed out, and woke up in our mindscapes, there we met an imprint of our father he left behind for us." They looked at eachother "He explained our sharingan and the night of our birth, and released one seal from the kyuubi and said you would have the other half."
"Why are you alternating words?" he asks
"We were?" they say.
"Yes you were." Tsunade responds.
"What did your father want you to do with the seal key?" Jiraiya asks curiously.
"He said the attack wasn't the kyuubi's fault, and he doesn't deserve to be locked up." Naruko responds
Naruto speaks up "this is wired, i feel like i said that and didn't at the same time."
"I know I feel the same way" Naruko responds.
Jiraiya puts his hand to his chin in a thinking pose before he speaks "It may be a side effect of your father lifting the first seal."
"It seems likely, the kyuubi explained that since we both hold him our mindscapes became one where he was located and when we first woke up there, it was like two hallways merging into one larger one." Naruto states
"Let me summon Gerotora and retrieve the key for you." Jiraiya says
Tsunade speaks up "Is this wise, what will unlocking the seal due to them?"
"It will allow the kyuubi's chakra to flow freely through them at their discretion." Jiraiya answers.
"But won't that let the kyuubi out?" she asks hesitantly.
"Minato trusts the kyuubi not to and I'll trust Minato with my life." Jiraiya states
"Father said he was a good friend of moms and was very kind to us. We trust him." Naruko says looking firmly at Naruto who nods in agreement.
"Well then, Summoning Jutsu" Jiraiya shouts
"What have you summoned me for Jiraiya? Don't tell me the seal is weakening already." Gerotora says.
"Quite the opposite, I wish to give the seal key to the kids." Jiraiya states
"Are you mad giving the key to the kids and second only a toad summoner is allowed to receive the key." Gerotora states frimley with his arms crossed.
"Well then kids since it's your birthday, here is my gift to you, and he pulls out a large red scroll with the Kanji for toads on it."
"You mean we get to sign the summoning contract." They both shout
"Is this wise Jiraiya they will still have to get Gamabunta approval, and they are way too young to be able to summon him; they are five for god's sake." Gerotora says pleadingly
"How about this? If they can summon Bunta will you give them the key" Jiraiya says with a smirk on his face.
"Deal" Gerotora responds
"Someone got a coin, we want to know who signs it first next to dad." Naruto asks.
"Alright ladies first so Naruko, call it in the air." Jiraiya says and flips the coin.
"HEADS" she yells after a half second.
Jiraiya grabs it, "It is…" after a moment of suspense "heads".
"NO" Naruto screams in defeat.
"Just sign your full name in blood."
They both cut their fingers and sign their names.
"Now let's go outside to the clearing and give it a try."
In the clearing
"Alright, draw some blood onto your hand, and go through the hand seals Boar, Dog, Bird, Monkey and Ram then slam your hands on the ground."
"Alright how much chakra should I use?" Naruko asks
"Use about 500 shadow clones wirth" Jiraiya states.
She takes a breath bites her thumb draws the blood across her hand, goes through the hand seals and says "Summoning Jutsu"
When a small puff of smoke appears Jiraiya frowns while Getotora smiles.
And they hear "What did you summon me for Jiraiya-chan" and a small toad dressed in a black cloak with purple hair is revealed.
"It can't be no child should ever be able to summon One of the toad sages let alone not even look winded."
"You're not Jiraiya-chan, you look a lot like Minato; your one of his tadpoles aren't you."
Naruko begins "Yes miss?" "Shima but everyone calls me Ma" the toad replies."Yes though Minato was my father; I was trying to summon for the first time and you appeared." Naruko finishes.
"Well for future reference you will never need to use so much chakra for any of the other toads, and I am sorry about your father. He was a great kid and a pleasure to teach."
"You taught our father" Naruto cuts in.
"You must be little Naruto, but yes me and my husband taught him how to use sage mode."
"What's sage mode?" Naruko asks.
Jiraiya answers "it's the act of drawing natural energy into the body to augment one's body."
"Wait, when you say natural energy, you mean the chakra we can feel in all around us?" Naruto asks.
"Wait, are you two telling us you can already feel nature chakra?" Ma asks.
"Yes we use it in our Mokuton to grow the plants." Naruko states.
"Is that why nobody else can use mokuton, because they can feel the energy in nature?" Tsunade asks.
"Lets see if it is actually natural energy first" Jiraiya states.
"Wow, you're drawing in so much energy Ma" the twins say simultaneously.
"So it is true, you can feel it." Ma states
"How long have you been able to feel it?" Jiraiya asks.
"Since we unlocked our chakra." Naruto replies.
"Jiraiya-chan you should consider sending them with us to train in this if they can't control it it could kill them." Ma states.
"What do you mean it could kill them?" Tsunade asks in fear.
Ma begins to explain "If one draws on Natural energy and can not control it they would turn to stone and become a part of nature forever."
"It's probably a good idea, it will give me a chance to work on mine as well." Jiraiya says.
"Well I need to get back Pa is probably worried and I need to finish dinner as well; summon Pa when you would like to go." Ma says before she disappears in a puff of smoke.
"This has been a long day lets go back have some ramen and go to bed" Tsunade says tiredly.
"RAMEN" The twins shout and once again vanish in a flash of yellow.
