Update
Over a year latter, I'M BACK BITCHES.
No This story is not dead or forgotten. I am going to continue to update it hopefully at least once a week I won't promise more though.
A lot has happened this last year, hopefully my writing is better I feel that it is but time will tell, at some point I will probably re write the first 11 chapters, I feel they are too short and they are riddled with small error that i hope to fix.
Regardless On with the show.
Forest Floor
With his head now resting on her chest he hears a faint slow beat, with it growing stronger and faster each time. He begins to sob into her jacket a mix of emotions flashes through his face, relief, worry and most of all guilt.
The tears dry as he senses her regain consciousness. After her eyes flutter open she mutters "We were such idiots" he responds "I know, I know"
As she looks down towards his eyes she gasps "what happened with your eye it's different" she begins stroking his cheek with her hand. He responds "I'm not sure, but like when we gained the mangekyou using it was instinct." "It reminds me of the stories of gramps told us of his first students, Nagato. Could it be?" she asks. "It's not impossible he was an Uzumaki" He answers.
"Can you turn it off? it is only going to get us more questions." she asks as she begins to remove his grasp from herself. "I don't know, but you shouldn't move yet we don't know how well you have healed." he says as he tries to stop her. "I feel fine but if it will make you feel better you can run some scans nobody is near us for now." he rises to his knees next to her and his hands glow green as he begins to run diagnostic scans on her. He frowns "Nothing, you appear to be perfect, but I would still feel better if grandma gave you a check as well." " Naturally, but I think you give your skills too little credit, if you say I'm fine I am, I trust you" "that makes one of us, we were such idiots; we not only underestimated him, we were just reckless we were overconfident, we are the best sensors in the world and we got caught off guard by him hiding underground."
"I agree, we got so used to nobody being able to hurt us we treated a fucking sannin as a joke." she says as she rises to her feet with a helping hand from him.
"Now come on let's see if you can turn that eye off, and if we hurry we can still set a record time." she says, grabbing his hand. "Alright here goes nothing" he slowly cuts the chakra flow from his eye and the amethyst ripples shrink and return to pupil in his ems, then both his eyes return to his normal cerulean.
"It has a bigger drain than the mangekyou, almost double right?" she asks. Yeah there about the attacks with it were ungodly though, probably need to work on control; I wonder if you will get it eventually too, it feels weird to have a power you don't." "It is a first but I'm not sure I want it if I have to see you practically die in front of me." she answers quietly.
He grabs her in a tight hug "I know, come on let's get the tower, we can talk with our grandparents and the third there."
"The only good I can see out of this is we still didn't fail our mission technically we did stop him even if it was only a high level puppet, still wonder how he did that it was no simple clone."
"Not sure the memories I pulled out of it were fragmented, we can go over later, maybe Kurama will have some thoughts." "It has been what 25 minuets damn it felt like way longer, that's still over 5 hours faster than Itachi's time and nearly 7 over dad." she comments.
"Come on let's get out of this forest" he replies before they vanish in flashes of yellow and red.
Tower
As the two reappear inside the entry room they take a look around, "Lets see" Naruto states. Naruko begins reading "If heaven doesn't exist, enrich your knowledge, and prepare for the chance." Naruto continues "If earth does not exist run the fields in search of an advantage" Together they finish "Open the series of heaven and earth and the perilous way shall be redressed this is the secret of the one that guides." Naruko puts her hand to her chin "Heaven is in reference to the mind and earth the body." he continues "the next part is clear open the scrolls, the perilous way was our journey here."
"So in short we open the scrolls together and the way is cleared, this has lord third written all over it with the symbolism." she remarks, he sighs "Let's just get this over with we have better things to be doing." "My bets on a summoning jutsu" she says, as she retrieves the scrolls from a seal on her arm.
"One way to find out although I suspect you're right." as he grab one from her
They then unseal them together and roll them out. "That's a summoning seal alright" she states as she claps her hand together, he snorts "A sloppy one for a one time use blood bound summon" then in a puff of smoke Kakashi stands before them.
"Well that was faster than I thought. 27 minuets 36 seconds is a new record, I heard from lord third about the snake problem and came quickly, how did it go?"
They both look down, shame apparent on their faces, Naruko mutters "poorly" "Well I don't see a scratch on either of you but that doesn't tell me much." he replies putting his book away, his carefree look gone in an instant.
Naruto sighs "Come on let's go back to his office and we will explain" he suddenly vanishes in a flash of yellow. Kakashi looks to Naruko who shakes her head and vanishes in red, "You would think one of them died from how they act" he mutters before he is gone in a swirl of leaves.
Hokage's office
As Naruto appears he sees lord third smoking his pipe while looking out the window. Naruko then appears and grabs his hand, followed by Kakashi appearing, causing Hiruzen to turn around.
Noticing the tense atmosphere he firmly asks "Report" before taking a long puff from his pipe.
Naruto asks "Can we grab our grandparents first?" "We only want to tell this once," Naruko finishes.
He sighs "They are not supposed to be here till the end of the second task, but I suspect that won't stop you." Naruto nods, to his sister "I'll get grandpa you grandma." Both twins close their eyes before they vanish.
With Jiraiya Land of Hot water
Naruto mutters "A bar, why am I not surprised" he proceeds to walk across the street into the bar while shaking his head.
"I'm telling you whole villages of people suddenly disappearing near the border with rice. Not to mention the lack of merchants too, rice is getting experience around here as well." the bartender exclaims, Jiraiya leaves a nice tip and says "Thanks for the heads up."
Naruto clears his throat "Grandpa." Jiraiya whips around "You are not supposed to be here right now" he frowns. "We had a Big snake problem." "That would do it, I assume sensei wants me then." Naruto sighs "come on let's get out of here." They proceed to walk out into an alley before Jiraiya grabs his shoulder and they disappear."
With Tsunade Land of Rivers
"A medical clinic, unexpected" Naruko states. "YOU CALL THIS MEDICINE! THIS IS THIRD RATE WITCH DOCTORING" Naruko sighs "That's more like it" she enters the front door. "Grandma, leave this doctor alone, we have a snake problem." Tsunade whips around "Snake problem you mean…" "Yes come on, we don't have all day." Tsunade turns back to the doctor "If I see you again, and this butchery of medicine is still open, Kami have mercy on your soul." They walk outside and out of view before they disappear.
Hokage's office
Tsunade and Naruko reappear Just moments before Jiraiya and Naruto. The twins walk to the middle of the room and join hands again, they notice Kakashi is gone.
Tsunade is the first to speak "So what's this about a snake problem, was he sighted in the village?"
Lord third sighs "The twins reported to Ibiki about a Kage level chakra signature, with a scent of snakes during the first task. I then had Ibiki relay them a message 'stop his plans, eliminate if possible'." Tsunade gains a tick mark on her forehead, "You sent our grandkids after OROCHIMARU WITHOUT TELLING US!" Jiraiya continues "You didn't have them grab us or even send them back up, how reckless are you."
Lord third flinches under their tone "You said it yourselves you can't beat them and they were in a perfect position to deal with him without causing a panic; at the time it was the best choice I had."
Before Tsunade can begin screaming again Jiraiya butts in "I can understand to an extent your choice even if i don't like it, so tell me what happened and why we are here now."
He replies "That's something I would like to know as well." He turns his focus to the twins who continue to look at their feet.
Naruto begins "We were stupid and reckless" Naruko continues "we treated him like a genin thinking nothing he could do could hurt us." Tsunade cuts in "He poisoned one of you didnt he." Naruto answers "one specifically for jinchuuriki, a single nick and" tears begin flowing quietly "and Naruko" Tsunade and Jiraiya Hug the twins tightly. "It's okay, you're both fine now." Tsunade says soothingly, running her hand through their hair.
Naruko continues "If it wasn't for a literal miracle, I would be dead and it's humbling" Naruto continues "We lost our sense of fear and even self preservation" "Nothing could hurt us, weapons shattered on our skin A and even most S rank Justus couldn't hurt scratch us." she finishes.
"So what miracle happened." Hiruzen asks. Naruto answers "My sharingan evolved again" he then activates this new eye. "The Rinnegan," Jiraiya exclames. "I thought so too," Naruko answers. Tsunade places her hands over Naruto's eye and begins scanning, "It draws higher chakra then normal, but there is something else, it feels vaguely like sage chakra but it's different and I'm not sure how almost denser but its scares whatever it is." She then turns to Naruko and begins scanning "I'm assuming he already gave you a once over. I don't see anything wrong, slightly elevated levels of Kurama's chakra but not unexpected after being poisoned." Jiraiya butts in "Speaking of Kurama has he said anything?" Naruto frowns "No, nothing Give me a minute" he tries to speak to Kurama but he is met with silence; "Weird he seems to be ignoring me, we will sort it out later. Is there any chance Naruko could awaken it as well?" he asks, looking at his grandmother. "I would have to do some cell analysis, but I believe so, from the tests I have done in the past, as far as bloodlines go you two are Identical, also the student of Jiraiya who had it was an Uzumaki it's not impossible it runs in the family."
Jiraiya speaks up "Speaking of Nagato, he lacked the sharingan and he also couldn't deactivate it…" the Naruto gulps "just like an implanted sharingan, that begs the question who would give them away and why?"
"It doesn't matter anyway he passed years ago." He responds, Hiruzen sighs "That still doesn't answer my question, what happened after he poisoned Naruko?"
Naruto answers "Much like with the sharingan using its powers was instinct I used it to drag the puppet and rip the part of Orochimaru out. I got some memories from it but they are fragmented. It also gave me access to a summon, the king of hell to be exact. It was under my total control too and I could see from its eyes; regardless I used it to restore her body and it appears to have been perfectly."
Jiraiya scratches his chin in thought "You said you dragged him to you, magnetism possible? No gravity possibly, energy absorption and special summoning none of those are bad per say, just not what i would expect." he asks.
Naruto answers "I agree with the gravity, not energy but an actual piece of him, part of his soul" he shivers, Naruko tightens her hold on his hand.
Hiruzen sighs again "Well regardless, you did accomplish your mission, remember you are not supposed to leave the tower but I suspect some time in a hospital lab is ahead of you, just don't get caught; I believe declaring the events around this and your Rinnegan a S-ranked seacret is appropriate. Now if that is all dismissed."
Tsunade speaks up, "Alright brats clones to the tower with Kakashi, then we are going to my private lab."
