Elsa sat there frozen unsure how to proceed. If she told the truth then she could end up in a more detrimental situation than she already was. Her position in Anna's life was precarious at best. It was kept only in the secrecy of hidden passageways and stolen moments. She was stuck. The revelation of her powers were always met with met reactions depending upon who it was. The only person who didn't question it or was remotely scared of it was Anna. She has seen the flash of fear in Gerda and Kai when she has had moments where she had lost all control of her powers. She didn't blame them. In those moments she was probably more terrified than they were. The only difference is that they could run and leave the room, she couldn't. She can't run from herself. There were moments where she wished she could.
Anna sat perfectly still in Elsa's lap still holding her hand within her own. She stared at her sister's face trying to read the thoughts that flicked through Elsa's steel blue eyes. They seemed to flash through her eyes a mile a minute. It was more than apparent to Anna that Elsa was trying to find a way to not admit what she thinks is a horrible thing, but Anna thinks of it as the most precious gift. Anna wished she could make Elsa see what she does when it comes to her powers or her as a person in general but she is willing to wait for that day. For now she will believe in her sister enough for the both of them. She just hoped that this would all work out for the best. She knew that Elsa needed to tell someone about her gift and how it has been the root of their parents' mistreatment, but it would all be for not if their Aunt and Uncle responded poorly to the news. She had no reason to believe which way their Aunt and Uncle would react to Elsa's powers, but so fair they had exceeded her expectations with the amount of care and compassion they seemed to have displayed and radiated from them. She just hoped that it would extend to the revelation on what makes Elsa more special than the rest of them. Anna re-snuggled up against Elsa going to her reserved spot resting her face in the crook of Elsa's neck. The thought flitted through Anna's mind that she was getting too old to be all snuggled up on Elsa like this, but she didn't really care. She had missed 9 years of this. All of the years that she should have been able to do this she was not able to. All she had to lean against was a cold hard door. She didn't care if this made her clingy or childish. She was going to get all of the cuddles, any physical affection she could get from her sister as long as it was not bothering Elsa.
An overlooked fact was that for 9 years Elsa was not the only one of the two that was starved of affection. Sure Anna had passing touches and hugs from others like Gerda and Kai, but no one stopped and held her. Gave her long hugs, leaned against her, or snuggled with her. The last person who had done that with her was Elsa. WIth Elsa locked in her room for all of these years Anna had to go without simple affection that most people took for granted. Now Anna, who was quite an affectionate person, was almost responding to it like a starving person would after being offered a full banquet. Anna almost purred when she felt Elsa's fingers tangle and run through her hair. It was soothing. She was more than content here no matter how tense the situation was. All Anna knew was that everything would be okay if she was with Elsa.
Anna kept her hold on Elsa's hand and gave it a small squeeze in support when she felt the shift in Elsa's posture. Anna knew that Elsa had come to a decision on how she wanted to handle this. No matter what Anna silently swore that she was going to support Elsa no matter what.
"This… this is a sore subject for me. I'm not really comfortable talking about it. It is related to what happened to Anna when we were little. I… I don't know how to explain it. I'm sure you are both going to understand why my father took the tactics that he did when it came to dealing with me once you know."
Elsa looked down and kept her gaze on the top of Anna's auburn head. This might be the last moment of peace she has. It might be the last time she sees, holds, and is allowed to be this close to Anna ever again. If they don't react to the truth well then this is it. Elsa gave into the urge and placed a soft kiss to the crest of Anna's head. She memorized the weight of her on her lap. The way Anna was warm and the soft floral smell that seemed to be always laced around her. Elsa made sure that she imprinted all of these things in her mind just in case. She was going to need these memories to keep her afloat if this was it.
"Elsa, we understand, but we cannot effectively help you both if we don't know everything. If this is really related to why you have been treated this way, we have to know if we are going to political war with your father. We cannot be unprepared for anything he may say or try to twist when we confront him to keep the both of you safe from him. I hate to push, but can you please tell us?"
Elsa nodded her head as she lifted her steely blue eyes to lock on them. If she was going to utter the words that may lock her back up in shackles, then she was going to stare them in the eye. She was not going to back down. She refused to show fear while she admitted her biggest shame. She felt Anna squeeze her hand and snuggle closer and it helped to add to her moment of courage.
"I… I… How do I explain this? Ugh, I think it is just easier if I just show you."
Elsa lifted her hand off of Anna's head and held her palm up towards the ceiling and allowed some of her power to flow down to her fingertips and allowed a swirl and made a small tornado of flurries. Elsa held it for a moment before she had it disappear before she let her hand fall back down.
Anna grabbed Elsa's arm dragging her hand that just demonstrated her magic closer and wrapped it around herself.
"That was pretty Elsie."
Elsa looked down at Anna and gave her a soft smile for a moment before she shifted her attention back to their Aunt and Uncle. She steeled herself for their reaction and was more than surprised to see wonder in their expressions.
"Elsa, sweet girl that was amazing. How…"
"I'm not a witch, no dark magic or deal was made. As far as I know there was never a curse placed on me. As long as I can remember I have had these… these powers."
Primrose immediately leaned forward and went to reassure Elsa, "Oh no sweet girl you misunderstood me. I didn't mean to accuse you of anything. I was just amazed to see more magic in our family."
This caught the attention of both of the girls.
Anna sat straight up and focused her attention on her Aunt. Elsa stared shell shocked.
"Wait… WHat? WHO?!" Anna exclaimed.
Fredrick smiled, "Our daughter, your cousin, Rapunzel."
Anna and Elsa sat there stunned with wide eyes.
Elsa's soft voice filled with wonder floated out into the air, "I'm not the only one? I'm not a defective blight on the family?"
Anna spun around and she gave her sister a giant bear hug.
"No you goof. You're perfect as you are."
Fredrick and Primrose had tears swimming in their eyes as the words Elsa uttered sank into their minds. This poor girl has been led to believe such horrible lies about herself. She doesn't see that she is a gift. They all sat there for a moment relishing in the light atmosphere coated in relief.
"Wait a minute… Am I the only one of us that doesn't have super awesome powers? Aww man! That's not fair!"
Fredrick and Primrose laughed at the put out tone in Anna's question.
"Sorry Sunshine. You may not have them in a traditional sense, but you do have super Anna powers."
"Eh?"
Elsa almost busted out with laughter at Anna's confused face. Only Anna could make something that Elsa feared and hated about herself seem like such a light hearted and wonderful thing.
"See that right there silly! Look around the room. No one can help but smile when you are around. Plus you can pull me back to the here and now. No one else has ever been able to do that. So look at that, you have two powers!"
Anna still pouted, "It's not the same though Elsieeeee. It's not cool powers like your ice or… wait what can Rapunzel do?"
Both girls turned their attention back to Primrose and Fredrick.
Fredrick chuckled at the girls in front of them. When they were not under watchful eyes and felt comfortable it was wonderful to see that they did act their age. Any damage done didn't shatter them. It left them hurt and wounded for sure, but nothing that they couldn't work past with some care and acceptance. The girls just needed to feel loved and safe. Now all he and his wife had to do was secure that for them.
"Should we tell them Prim or should we let the suspense kill them a little longer?"
Primrose looked at the girls with a mischievous grin and laughed out loud when she heard Anna whine as threw herself back against her sister slouching in the most unladylike manner. A small huff of air left Elsa's lips when Anna threw herself back. Somehow with Anna all sprawled out on top of her in the most dramatic way, Elsa still held herself in a polite, dignified and graceful manner. The startling difference in their behavior was almost comical.
"I don't know love. Maybe we should ask them. See what they think."
Anna immediately blurted out, "I GOT TO KNOWWW! PLEASE TELL US!"
Elsa shook her head with a small smile on her lips as she facepalmed at Anna's antics. Fredrick snorted as he watched the girls. They are the sweetest things.
"Elsie tell them to tell us. Make it an even fight two against two… but I think your words count more since you are the crowned princess and we happen to be sitting in your kingdom so really I think your word counts double so that would make us win. It would then technically be three to two since yours counts twice… TELL THEM ELSIEEEE I HAVE TO KNOW NOWWWWW!"
Both Fredrick and Primrose were more than amused and enjoyed Anna's display and rationalization to get her way. It was hilarious to them how much she was whining and pouting to get Elsa to participate. They saw that Anna was going overboard to egg Elsa on. To draw her out by making herself more of the spectacle so that Elsa would feel like all of the attention was not directed at her.
"Alright, alright. Aunt Primrose, Uncle Fredrick… May we please know what sort of magic that our cousin has?"
After she finished her question she looked down at the sprawled out Anna and raised an eyebrow. Anna just flashed her a smile and grabbed at her hands again pulling them into hers once again. Elsa slipped one of them free and worked on trying to straighten out the mess that was Anna's hair.
Fredrick chuckled, "Well I guess we have to answer now due to Anna's logic, but I think it was more of the polite request that swayed me. What do you think, Prim?"
Primrose grinned as she nodded, "Oh yes I guess they earned the right to know. It wouldn't be fair to not tell them now. Alright girls, Rapunzel seems to possess a sort of healing magic. She has been learning how to reuse it. It's a long story, but she used to be able to do it with her hair, but that doesn't seem to be an option anymore so she is working on channeling out other ways now. I know she is going to be more than excited to know that she is not the only one with powers either."
Anna sat there staring with her mouth open. Healing magic? That's so coool! Elsa on the other hand sat there as rigid as a rod. Magic isn't always a bad thing? Rapunzel got a good magic? A safe magic that can help others… Why did I get the bad one? What did I do that I was cursed to be this dangerous? Why, why, why, WHY?!
Anna felt Elsa go stiff and turn her head to look up and gaze at her sister. She saw that the mask had fallen down on her sister's face. There was no emotion shown at all. The only give away that something was wrong and Elsa was stuck in a bad place was her eyes. Her normally vibrant steel blue eyes had now darkened and were stormy. They were not as blue, to Anna they looked more grey. Like the dark cloud that was settling over Elsa was visible in her eyes. Anna turned and cupped Elsa's face in her hands trying to get Elsa to make eye contact with her. It was scaring her. Elsa was looking at her, but it was like she was looking through her. It was like she was not even there.
"Elsie? Elsie, hey can you hear me?"
Fredrick and Primrose felt the air still and the temperature drop. The smiles were wiped from their faces as they realized that something was wrong. They then heard and saw Anna trying to get Elsa to respond, but it was more than obvious that Elsa was there physically with all of them, but other than that Elsa was no longer with them. It was very concerning to them to see Elsa retreat so far into herself like this. Nevermind how unhealthy it was, it just was not safe. Anything could happen and Elsa would be unaware. Fredrick was more concerned now than before on what sort of damage had been done to these girls that something like this could happen. He had a bad feeling that Elsa glossed over more details pertaining to what that man had done to hurt and abuse her. Primrose was in awe in the most disturbed and heartbroken way watching Anna trying to talk Elsa back to the present. She couldn't take it anymore and got up from her seat and softly made her way over in front of where the girls were in front of the couch. She knelt down in front of them. She gently placed her hand on Anna's back and rubbed soft circles. Anna jolted at the unexpected touch. She turned her head and met Primrose's gaze with tears streaming down her face.
"She doesn't hear me. I can't bring her back. I… I don't know what to do! Help… I need help. Auntie I'm scared. I can't lose her. She has never disappeared to a place where I can't reach her. I'm so confused. Normally I can figure out what triggered her and pull her back, but I don't know what it was this time. I CAN'T FIX IT! WHY CAN'T I FIX IT?!"
"Oh little love… This is not your fault. It is not your job to fix your sister. Hear me when I say she is NOT broken. She doesn't need to be fixed. What she needs is what you have been doing. Your support and unconditional love and support. We will help the both of you learn how to navigate this messy world. Elsa will come back around on her own. We will all be here to support and give her a safe space to come back to. Okay?"
Anna nodded and gave a weak smile to her Aunt before she hid her face in Elsa's shoulder once again.
Anna quietly breathed out, "Please come back to me. It's okay… Don't leave me. I'm right here. I love you." over and over that it became almost rhythmic in her repetition.
Fredrick sat there and took in the heartbreaking sight before him. His beloved wife kneeling on the floor trying to sooth one child in distress over the other who was trapped in her own dark thoughts. His heart was more than twisted. The sight before him was tearing his guts out. If he was not almost crippled over in the agonizing pain from the sight before him he was trying not to give into the unbridled rage that was burning within him. This man has two of his perfectly healthy, well behaved, sweet, loving daughters safe in his own home and he took it for granted. He spat at his good fortune and abused it. While he lost his daughter and had to live with that loss and worry if she was okay. Asked his own family for help to find her only to be dismissed callously due to "having to look after his own family" and to see that he didn't even do that made his blood boil. It was like a kick to the gut. He was pulled from his thoughts when he saw Anna jerk back and exclaim, "ELSIE!".
"Elsie! Oh thank you, thank you, thank you! I was so worried. Please don't do that to me again! Please don't disappear like that again. It scared me."
Elsa gave a jerky nod in response, "Sorry… I got lost for a second… was thinking… can't figure it out."
"What can't you figure out sweetheart?"
Elsa's eyes cut over and finally noticed that Primrose had moved closer and was now kneeling on the floor in front of her. She was confused when that happened. She doesn't remember seeing her Aunt move, but she was also aware of what Anna said and was acting that she had slipped away for a moment or two. Elsa took a moment to find the right words to explain to the rest of them what she couldn't figure out.
"I… I don't understand what I did to be cursed with the bad magic. If some magic like Rapunzel's is good then why didn't I get a good one? Why am I being punished? I don't want to be bad. I'm trying so hard!" Here Elsa had to pause as tears made her voice crack, "Am I destined to be bad? Can I not ever be good enough?"
Everyone in the room listening felt their stomachs drop like lead and their hearts clench at Elsa's cry.
"No, no, no, no, no! You are not bad. Elsie you are all things GOOD!" Anna quickly exclaimed, "If you are bad then I don't want anything to do with good. YOU are my safe place. YOU are my home. I don't care what anyone else says. I don't think your magic is bad! I think it is a beautiful and fantastic thing and I hate that you can't see that yet. PLEASE… hear me when I say, YOU ARE GOOD!"
Elsa locked her own blue eyes with Anna's greener blue pair lovingly gazing back into her own. The raging storm that was roaring full force within her causing a ringing in her ears was receding and calming down. Anna was like the lighthouse guiding her safety back ashore. She completely understood what Anna was saying to her before. Anna was her safe space too. The only thing she knows to be true and certain in her life is Anna. She knew that no matter what Anna loved her and was with her to the end.
"Me and you?"
Anna gave back a blinding smile full of warmth. It really was like looking at the sun, "Yeah, it's you and me sis."
Elsa stiffly nodded back. She lifted her arms up to go and pull Anna close in a hug, she felt the need to be grounded, but hesitated. She wasn't sure if she was entirely in control of her powers at the moment. She couldn't get a heads or tails of her powers at the moment. They were still raging inside of her at the moment, not as much as they were previously, but it was as if they knew she was resenting and wanting to get rid of them from her own body. That she was wishing that she could purge them from her own self. Now it seemed as if they were still angry at her for hating them. So there she sat with her arms slightly elevated around her sister hesitating if it was safe enough to allow herself to touch Anna. As if sensing what Elsa wanted, but knowing what she was afraid of, Anna leaned forward and rested her forehead against her sisters and wrapped her arms around her in a bone crushing hug.
Fredrick and Primrose caught each other's eye as they both watched how Elsa just melted into Anna's embrace, but still kept her arms (or more accurately her hands) away from her sister. While it was heartwarming to see the sisters operate in such a fashion of knowing what the other needed without prompting, it was just as equally heartbreaking to see just how broken and how deep their wounds went. Girls their age should never have worries and fears like this.
Fredrick and Primrose had a quick conversation with one another with their eyes and Fredrick gave Primrose a quick nod. They were going to keep these two safe no matter what. He needed to make it clear to that man that he was taking these girls home with him and Primrose when they left. The girls will be their wards until they come of age and Elsa could come back and lead Arendelle as their Queen. Until that day came, they would give these two precious girls an actual home full of love, acceptance, and support to give them all of the tools they needed to heal from their time here.
Primrose looked at the exhausted faces of her nieces and knew that they had to end this little get together for now. It was a heavy day. Their talk was full of a lot of heavy topics for one day nevermind just one conversation.
"Alright girls, let's get you both to bed. It has been a long day. We will see each other again in the morning."
Primrose rose from the floor and reached her hand out to help the girls to stand. Anna just wrapped herself around Elsa refusing to let go while nuzzling her face into Elsa's neck. Elsa gave a soft smile to Primrose while rolling her eyes at Anna's antics. With Primrose standing by to catch them Elsa rose from the couch with Anna in her arms. She wobbled for a moment as she tried to steady her footing with the extra weight of her sister. She paused and met the gazes of both her Aunt and Uncle, "I probably will not see you both tomorrow. I don't think I will be allowed out of my room during the day. Father said I was only granted leave from my room 3 times during your visit. Today was one of them. I was told I was to eat dinner with you all once and then present to say goodbye when you leave. If you want to see me after the day is done you can ask Anna, Gerda, and I believe Kai how to get to my room through the secret passageways."
Fredrick gave a stiff nod in reply to Elsa with a storm brewing in his eyes. The look made Elsa uncomfortable and unsure what she did to upset him with her. Primrose noticed and quickly backhanded her husband's arm, startling him.
"Sweet girl, he isn't angry with you. He is just upset about the unfairness of the situation on your behalf. Don't worry about him. He really is just a big teddy bear."
Fredrick shifted and looked down with red creeping up his cheeks as his hand scratched the back of his head. Seeing this helped Elsa relax as she saw a side of him that was beyond his title. He was just a bashful man. He really isn't a threat to her or her sister. He meant no harm. He was just angry about the situation and not her. Elsa gave a quick nod and gave a soft smile to show she understood and there were no hard feelings. Elsa then turned and left the room with Primrose and Fredrick following behind her. While it made her nervous, she did appreciate the sentiment. It was nice to feel cared for. It was a different feeling than what she was used to, but one she hoped would become normal.
At the end of the hall, Kai was keeping guard while trying to look like he was cleaning up some of the furniture there at the corner. He quickly noticed the princesses and their Aunt and Uncle as they made their way down the hall. He gave a quick nod of acknowledgment to the King and Queen of Corona before he allowed himself to focus on his princesses. A smile crossed his face as he took in a sight that took him back a few years. If he didn't focus on the graceful young lady before him cradling her sister in her arms then all he saw was a young girl carrying her baby sister around everywhere with her. It was a bittersweet sight to the older man. Some things never change I guess… those two operate as if no time has passed at all.
"Princess… Is Princess Anna alright?"
Elsa had a soft look on her face as she looked down at the girl curled up and latched around her, "Yes Kai, she's fine, just a little cuddly."
"Cause you're going away again."
Everyone looked down to where the muffled voice came from.
"Sunshine, I'm not going away forever. It is just for a little bit and you know where to find me. I promise I'm not shutting you out or leaving you forever, okay?"
A muffled groan came out in defeat from Anna. She knew her sister was right, but that didn't mean she had to like it. She just grabbed on tighter to her sister's dress. Elsa shifted Anna's weight a bit in her arms to be able to pull her closer to herself.
Kai leads the group safely down the hallway and up a floor to where the girl's rooms are. They go down the first corridor to where Anna's room is. Kai and the King and Queen of Corona stayed in the doorway as Elsa entered Anna's room to place her in bed.
Elsa glanced around the room taking it in. The last time she was in here she had just had a large magic mistake. It made her feel safe and loved to be in a room surrounded with her sister's things, no matter how messy it was in here. There was still a comfort from seeing these familiar walls that she used to see everyday before things went south. She carefully made her way over to the bed avoiding the mess that was scattered all over the floor. She finally made her way safely to Anna's bed and past the mine field that was her floor. She placed Anna gently on her bed, but when she went to pull away to pull up Anna's blanket to cover her she was yanked back, and she turned to see that Anna still had a death grip on her dress. Elsa tried to gently pry her sister's hands off but to no avail. It was pointless. Anna was not letting go. It was a pointless battle. Anna was not going to let go at any point. It was more than obvious that Anna did not want Elsa to go. Elsa turned and looked at her Aunt with pleading eyes. Luckily Primrose was quick at understanding the pleading look in Elsa's eyes and understanding the poor girl's predicament. She went over to where Elsa was struggling to remove Anna's hands from herself.
With Primrose's help the two of them were able to remove Anna's deathgrip from Elsa's dress. A whine immediately left Anna's lips when her hands lost their grip and she sat up bolt right arms reaching out chasing after Elsa. Elsa kept her distance while Primrose made sure that Anna couldn't latch on again. Anna was completely distressed when she realized she couldn't reach Elsa easily, causing tears to tumble down her cheeks as her bottom lip trembled. The sight gutted Elsa. She never wanted to be the one to cause anything close to this when it came to Anna. Elsa knelt down and made sure Anna's eyes met hers.
"Sunshine… I have to go, you know this."
"Buuuttt… I can't watch you go… it's not fair!"
Elsa clenched her eyes shut for a moment, her heart wrenching at the tone that came from her sister. She would bear it if this was her penance for her misdeeds.
"Sunshine, look at me."
Anna locked her eyes with Elsa's, "Sunshine, I need you to hear me when I say this. While I have to go. I never really leave you. I'm always with you. My heart and thoughts are always with you. You may not be able to see or touch me for a while, but it's temporary. I have an idea though that might help when it gets really hard okay?"
Anna nodded with big eyes still swimming with tears. She watched on in awe as Elsa started weaving her hands around and a small swirl of flurries danced around between her hands. When it started to dissipate a small crystal facet laid in her palm. Elsa leaned forward and then laid it down on the top of Anna's bed. Anna's hands immediately darted out and grabbed hold of the small trinket. It was light, smooth, and looked like it was made of crystal with all of the groves and the way it played with the light. Anna stared at it in awe.
"It will never melt Sunshine. It shouldn't be cold or feel like typical ice either. I have been working on doing something like this for you for a while. This way you can always have something from me with you. It is a barrette that you can use in your hair. Now when you feel like it is too much, know that my magic is at least there with you to keep you company, share strength, and keep you safe."
Anna nodded as she clutched the small item close to her chest. It was one of the very few rare times that she was left speechless. Elsa gave Anna a small smile before she got up, brushed a soft kiss on Anna's forehead before she turned around and left the room.
Some stray tears still escaped from Anna's eyes, but now there was a softer look resting on her face while she held the small hair clip to her chest. Her eyes followed Elsa's form leaving the room. Once Elsa stepped to the other side of the threshold and was no longer in her room, Anna finally looked over to her Aunt.
"Go make sure she's okay. I'll be fine. I just need to know that she's okay."
Primrose gave that sweet girl a quick nod, before she placed a kiss to the crown of her head and softly brushed some of her hair back while giving her a gentle smile. With that, Primrose turned and exited Anna's room as well, closing the door behind her.
In the hall, she saw Elsa standing off towards the side against a wall some distance from Kai and Fredrick who both kept glancing at Elsa from the corner of their eyes while they both were holding a light conversation. It was more than obvious that the girl wanted to just disappear already, but she felt like she couldn't.
"Can we walk you to your room dear?"
Elsa's gaze snapped over to Primrose and gave her a stiff nod before she turned and started walking off down the hallway and turning down different corridors. It became amply clear that while Elsa was kept on the same floor as her sister, she was on a completely different side of the castle. The girls were being kept apart as far as possible without raising too much suspicion that there was something wrong within the walls of this castle. When they finally got to Elsa's door they were confused on why Elsa paused off to the side until they saw Kai step forward and unlock the door.
"Thank you Kai."
"Always princess. I still hate this, you know."
Elsa just gave a strangled looking smile and small nod before she turned and stepped into her room. She turned back around and dipped her head slightly in recognition before she uttered a soft "Good night" and closed the door. Both Fredrick's and Primrose's eyebrows rose when they heard the door click and a lock latch as Elsa pushed the door close. The sound was too simultaneous for Elsa to have been the one to lock the door voluntarily. They both turned and looked at Kai who had a haunted look in his eyes as he gazed at the door.
"What just happened?"
Kai finally shifted his gaze from the door to King Fredrick and Queen Primrose.
"She is locked into that room by the King's orders. I was forced to change out that lock many years ago to one that automatically locks when pulled closed and can only be unlocked from the outside. It is the same lock that we have installed down in the dungeons. I wanted to kill that man when I realized what he wanted and was doing to that poor girl, but what could I do? I'm no one. It is when a large majority of the staff decided to do what we could to help and protect those girls the best we could. Though we have not done nearly enough." Kai stopped and swallowed hard, "I have no right to ask you of this. Like I said, I'm a nobody, but I adore those girls as if they were my own. What I am saying could be counted as treasonous here, but I believe it would be the best thing for those girls. If you can please help them and take them with you when you leave. They need to go somewhere where they are not constantly oppressed and in harm's way."
Primrose had tears swimming in her eyes at the amount of care this man had for her nieces. It warmed her heart that there were some people that are here in the girl's lives that actually looked out for them here. Now that they were here, they were going to help as much as they could and thank each and everyone that has been looking after and trying to make these girls' lives better. None of them had to risk their own hide to do that, but she more than understood that to know those girls was to love them.
Frederick stepped forward and placed a hand on Kai's shoulder and gave him a stern nod.
"We plan on taking them home with us. They need to go live in a place where this," Frederick swept his other hand around, "is not tolerated. If we can manage it I would also like to take some of you like Gerda and yourself along with us if we can manage it. I want there to be some familiar faces there for the girls. It will be a big chance for them and we want them to be as comfortable as possible."
Primrose nodded in support behind her husband. She was so glad he thought of that as well. It was an idea that she was bouncing around in her own head, but just hadn't been able to voice it to her husband yet. His foresight on these things never ceased to amaze her. He really was a sweet man. A big old teddy bear like she had told Elsa earlier.
Kai nodded. "Thank you, your majesty."
Frederick pulled the man into a hug, "No thank you."
With that they went their separate ways for the evening. Tomorrow was going to be another day that was going to be more than interesting. It was going to be the start of trying to free the girls from this prison of a castle, to finally bring them home.
Sorry it has been so long since I last updated, but life has been a little crazy lately. It has finally seemed to calm down for a little bit here. So hopefully to make up for the long wait here is a slightly longer chapter than normal. Hope you all enjoyed it. Happy Holidays to all and hopefully all of you are happy and healthy. Until next time!
