A muscular man walked into the studio corporate building with his vest revealing his protruding arms, pretty pectorals, and some abs peaking below it. His tight green jeans with a military design caused him to itch his legs, as he entered the green screen room, "Man, I should not have tried the newest edition, and I should have gotten looser skinny jeans. Make a note to headquarters about this faulty design."
Josh turned around to see the former cadet, and his eyes widened in shock at the appearance in front of him, "And I thought Anne Maria's outfit was tacky... Anyways, nice of you to make it Brick. Please sit down, so half of your horrible outfit could be covered. Please." He waited for Brick to sit in front of him, and went to grab his pile, "Alright, so I am going to chronologically via the alphabet give you a picture of one of your contestants, and you will tell me how you relationship was like with them on the show, and how it is like today. Anne Maria is first, and she SURE DID spill some tea."
All Brick could do was shake his head and laugh, "I know she did, and it's why people love her. Anne Maria and I... didn't get along at first, though we weren't in conflict. I was just shocked at her fashion choices initially, and I tried REALLY HARD to have a straight face looking at her, but then she got mad at my dead stare, so she yelled at me about that for the first few days. She finally asked me what the issue was, and I apologized to her profusely before asking her about fashion, trying to guide her in the right direction. She didn't get it, so I dropped it, and we went our separate ways. I didn't tell anyone about my fashion aspiration yet, so people would find it weird that I was commenting about it. The drama between her and Zoey was building up before Anne Maria and Mike kissed, so I told them BOTH that they need to figure that mess out, since I did not want our winning streak to lose, and Jo agreed with me. That was the WRONG MOVE, since Anne yelled at the both of us, and spilled some personal and unnecessary stuff about the both of us."
"She said the both of yall were fucking, and you thought you were being discreet about it," he responded in a deadpanned manner, before starting to laugh as Brick's face turned red. "It's okay, everyone has... needs. Anyways, she said that Jo bashed you, she defended you, and told you everything, which changed things."
He was still stuck on the former point, "We... nothing happened between Jo and I. Anne Maria was just horny and mad about her situation so she... she... she put that on us. Anyways, I did appreciate Anne Maria not only standing up for me, but for telling me everything that happened. It showed that deep down, she is a compassionate and sweet person, but she has a lot of walls up due to certain traumas in her life. It was right after I switched teams, and we had a very nice conversation about getting to know one another, and our dreams after the show. We didn't get a chance to speak much until we were both eliminated, and she had a HUGE meltdown about quitting for nothing. I told her about my fashion dream, we bonded over that, and gave one another a lot of advice, and I helped her with the whole Mike situation, which got out of control once he was booted. We started working out together as well, which might shock some people. We didn't keep in touch for that year much, but when we went to the premiere and finale parties, we would dress one another up."
Josh wanted to keep this moving, "So what happened once you two were rejected from Season 5, and had to stay with all of the other losers who didn't make it on the season? From EVERYONE, I heard that you all went crazy wild."
A cackle came out of his mouth as he started to blush again, "That... was the wildest time of my life. Anne Maria is a party girl, and I started gaining confidence after our season aired, as well as meeting some of the first cast. She told me that I need to enjoy life, and that she's gonna teach me how to party. I was looking forward to meeting other people, and I wanted this summer to be fun. The two of us had a bunch of drinks all summer, danced with everyone we could from the TD cast, did a bunch of pranks, and lived it up. We got into a few... orgasmic experiences with some of the others, and we stripped a few times. It was all in good fun, and we were close ever since. We both went to different schools for fashion, but because I knew she was going to school for that, I asked her for advice and assistance about certain courses, protocol, etc. During that time, we talked about getting into business together, and when we both graduated, we made it happen. She owns a women's line, and I own a men's line, but our companies are under the same umbrella. I give her advice on the best tools for fitness wear. We are still friends."
"Alright, we are going to move onto B, the only other male from the cast outside of yourself who never competed on another season. How was your interactions with him like?"
"To be honest, there wasn't much interaction between the two of us, especially when the season was taking place. We were on opposite teams, and he was booted right before I was put on the Toxic Rats. We have two VERY different personalities, interests, and ways of communicating, though I tried to speak to him quite a bit at Playa des Losers. We were both close to Dawn, and she was kind of a mediator between the two of us, so I did have some great conversations with the three of them there. Him and I being the only two guys to not be on the next season kind of bonded us over the next summer, so we talked about how we felt about being snubbed, and being the only two other guys with every guy from the first cast BUT two of them. We actually hung out a lot with the Harolds, Codys, Noahs of the group, but when I wanted to hang out with some of the others, I asked him to come along, but he refused. I think he had something against me from the beginning, and despite my best efforts to connect with him, he didn't let me in. What made things even worse was that he accused Dawn and I of having an affair before they broke up."
Josh raised his eyebrow, and moved closer, "And I didn't even have to mention it first, but it was discussed. When did you and Dawn start dating, and when was it alongside her relationship with him? He said that you would be in their house, so you were familiar with their relationship, and as soon as they broke up, you got with her."
All he did was shake his head in disapproval, "The issue is, B refuses to communicate with people. It isn't that he CAN'T communicate, but just chooses not to, and he was mad that Dawn was finding other ways to communicate with other people, and being more outgoing. They bonded over their antisocial-ness, but once Dawn became more social, she felt his negative aura. She told me all about this, and I saw it too. I was a support system for her as a friend, and NOTHING happened between the two of us while we were in a relationship. I was also going through a hard time with... someone. We were both single for a few months, and then Dawn and I kissed randomly. I didn't like that he spread that around, and I don't like how he associates me being friendly with people like Lightning and Scott means that I'm not a good person."
He went to grab the next picture to hand to Brick, "I don't remember you interacting with Cameron throughout the season, outside of him saluting you once you were eliminated. He never joined Playa des Losers, and you didn't play on "All-Stars" with him."
Brick received the picture of the winner of his season, and let out a small smile, "I liked Cameron when I first saw him, and he reminded me a lot of myself. Very paranoid, insecure, a meeker personality, and someone who went through a lot of trauma. I felt protective of him from the very beginning, and he let it be known to everyone that his mother literally trapped him in a bubble. People started teasing him around camp, and it reminded me of how much I was teased when I was younger, and when I was a bit scrawnier back in the day. He lacked so many social skills, so I took it upon myself to teach him some social queues, and he asked me to start training him to get more physically strong. We also both bonded over being mama's boys, and it was nice to have that comradery with another guy on the season. He was also another person who told me about what Jo said behind my back during the night challenge. What they didn't capture on the show was that Cameron was closer to me than he ever was to Mike and Zoey at the time, but that changed once I switched teams. We really did not speak that much after switching teams, but when we would hang out, it was a fun time, and I remember going on a walk with him, and he was in such array over the butterflies and bugs. It was nice, but even before I was eliminated, I noticed that he kind of... morphed into Mike and Zoey, and it was kind of weird. Not shocked that I received the salute from them."
"Well, I have heard that from the people in the original cast that I did interview regarding him, but they never knew him when he was more of an individual," Josh commented. "How did things progress after the season?"
He continued his monologue, " We haven't really kept in touch like that after the show. Obviously he was not in "Playa des Losers" outside of the last day or two after winning. Whenever we would hang out during our cast's yearly events, we would have a lot of fun together, and seeing his growth as a person was cool. But then I noticed he wanted me to get involved in the drama with the triangle, and I'm good friends with Anne Maria, while I like Mike and Zoey as well. Another issue was that him and Jo were REALLY GOING AT IT a few years after the show, and he brought up some VERY personal stuff with Jo and I to go after her. In general, I thought he crossed a few lines, and I told him that he changed for the worst. He also wanted me to choose between him and Lightning, but I'm a grown man, who doesn't need to choose between two people. In general, we don't keep in touch like that, and I think he was the one who suggested to B that Dawn cheated with me. We had some words a few years ago about that, so there is no more friendship."
Dakota's picture was in front of Josh, and he passed it to Brick, "I don't remember you speaking to Dakota AT ALL from what was aired during the fourth season, even when she was an intern. What do you think of her?"
Brick thought about it long and hard for about a minute, "I am trying to remember our interactions on the show, and... there really was not much of it. Sam told me about his crush with Dakota, and I thought it was cute, which I was honestly jealous of. Our first conversation was around the time she was eliminated for good, and she cried to me about her condition, and asked me for advice with how to deal with Sam's... reaction to it, but it was because he was obsessed about her being a monster like some of his video games. As the weeks went by, she asked me for some advice on how to be a fighter, how to train, and how to embrace her stronger and more aggressive being, so I taught her some boxing tips, and we bonded over that. When I would go over to their house over the next few years, we would have fun, but I was always closer to Sam. I saw some... strain in their relationship at this time, and I think they broke up a lot of the time. In my opinion, she resented him, and felt like he only started appreciating her personality when she was Dakotazoid, he didn't want her to do treatment to go normal, and I thought that she resented him because she wanted to go back to her old, shallow ways. I called her out about it a few times, but it caused some strain in my friendship with Sam as well."
Josh wanted to stir the pot, "What in the hell did you think when you saw their reality show together? That was a COMPLETE trainwreck."
He skinned his teeth from that mention, "I remember that Sam DID NOT want to do the show, but Dakota forced him to. Our season ended about 5 years ago, and the show in general had been over for a few years by that point. Dakota was physically and mentally closer to being herself again, and she wanted to document her journey. She felt like this was going to be their big break back into show business, and it made things worse. Sam was telling me EVERYTHING about how bad things got between them, and everything about their breakup. It was Dawn and I who got them back together again, as we had to play mediator for each of them, which was only a few years ago. Dakota's a nice girl, but she gets caught up in materialistic things too easily."
The host handed the next picture, and had a grin on his face, "So Dawn is the next person on the list, and I am actually shocked that the two of you dated at one point. I barely remember either one of you interacting. Give us a good timeline, and I will determine if there was some overlap."
"There was, and is no overlap Josh. That would be extremely inappropriate, and would go against all of my morals and code. Dawn saw that I had many layers underneath my tough exterior, and she was intrigued in getting to know more about me, and also wanting to help me be the best person I could be. Initially, I was thrown off by her random comments, and was so creeped out that she could read me like a book. Most people are scared of me when they first meet me, and my exterior can scare them off for a bit, but not her. There were two people I went on walks with throughout the season; you saw Jo and I go on a lot of walks, and Dawn was the other person I would mainly walk around with. We both had some GREAT talks about nature, spirituality, and all of that stuff. Dawn has a lot of anxiety regarding social relations, so her reading auras, and accidentally blurting out our deepest vulnerabilities was her way of trying to bond with people. We were doing this for the first few weeks, but it really built up during our last week together. She was telling me about having bad feelings about Scott, and I was bonding with him at this time, so I thought she was just miscalculating things. I had a feeling that one of us was probably going home, so before Dawn was framed, I was trying to convince Dawn to vote with Lightning and I, under the belief that we could get Sam booted."
"Alright, alright. How were things like after you both were dating, and how were things outside of the game in real life? When did you know that you were attracted to her," Josh rambled, getting annoyed with how bored he was becoming.
Brick tried his best to keep his composure, "Dawn was always a pretty girl, but that's not important. We hung out quite a bit after I was eliminated, and Playa des Losers was a safe haven where the bio hazards weren't really bad, so everyone was able to enjoy it, and we really bonded over nature over there. She told me all about her film and documentary-making dreams, and how she was planning on making an expose on what happened to Camp Wawanakwa. We did keep in touch throughout the next few years, and whenever I was in BC, or she was in Ontario, we would spend a few days together. When the fifth season was happening, Dawn and I became social butterflies, and we had that journey together, though she was nowhere close to being a party animal like I was at the time. We hung out with a lot of the original cast at the time, went to a lot of events, and opened up socially. While we were both in school, I would help her a lot with her film and documentary projects, and she would make sure that all of my outfits did not use any harmful dyes, or had any involvement of animals in any way. Dawn would want to go to Brazil for research, B would not go. She would want to go to the Yukon, but B would not go. She told me all of this, and I was also volunteering for military bases during that time. Our destinations were at the same place, and we... got close. Like, we almost kissed. We were meeting the civilians who lost so much due to war, and how their communities were destroyed, where it bonded the two of us."
He raised his eyebrow, "Wait, so you admit that you almost kissed her, and I'm assuming this was WHEN she was with B, so there wasn't... any lies. So you cheated, and then dated her for a few years. How did that happen?"
"Seriously, NOTHING HAPPNED. We did not kiss, nor did we hook up. Dawn and I did not speak for months after that, we both left that trip prematurely, and she broke up with B. I was telling her about my tough relationship with... someone else, and we both realized that we needed to end things with our others, for our own individual reasons. I didn't see Dawn for another few months, which was about 4 years ago. We went on a date in the woods, and we decided to give things a try, but neither one of us wanted to be very public about it. Everything was so calm, serene, easy, and soothing. Many people in our cast thought we were a cute couple, she taught me a lot about aura reading and her other skillset, and she became a business partner for my fashion line, giving me some environmentally and animal friendly factories. Her family liked me, and my family liked her as well. Everything seemed so perfect but... something was missing."
"What was missing?"
The muscular man continued his narration, "There wasn't any... spice, or thrill in our relationship. It was like we were still friends, without any of the juiciness that comes with a romantic relationship. It's funny because she said when we were 16; about 7 years before we broke up that I liked a challenge, and I liked being dominated. I also knew that she still felt drawn to B as well, and... I like a lot of action, thrill, adventure. We just were not a good match for one another, though we still remain friends. I don't know if her and B are still together, but I learned to stay out of that mess. I still speak to her regularly."
Josh could not help but laugh as he saw the next photo, "So this next person is really the only person that the show went out of their way to show your interactions with. You and Jo seemed to have this love-hate relationship through the season, which turned into outright hate."
Brick let out a strained chuckle, as he ran his hands through his buzzcut, "Wow, that's gonna take a while. Do you have a drink to get me through all of it? Anyways, Jo and I were in the same finals of the audition process, and I noticed that she was always looking at me. Some of them were outright glares, some were looks of curiosity, and others were look of intrigue. It caught my interest as well, so when we were on the boat, I asked her about it. She said that I was the best competitor, and the biggest threat out of the cast, and this was before the season started. No one knew this, but we got along pretty well during the first few days, especially when we filmed the intro. It started with her wanting to spar, and she needed a partner to do so. She asked me to not go easy on her, and I was unsure about it, but I gave her all I got, and she was able to compete with me. It was very impressive. Over the next few days, she saw me wake up very early to do my hectic routines that I was taught during boot camp, and I could tell it shocked her too. Jo is someone who has an ego, and likes to be the best at everything, so I noticed that she would try to dismiss my abilities and accomplishments, and I was not going to let her do that, so I went toe-to-toe with her whenever I need to. It got to the point where we were competing over EVERYTHING, like who could finish Chef's food the quickest, and we both told ridiculous stories to outdo the other. A lot of it was due to us being very competitive, but I think a part of it was done to keep our entertainment high, as we did hang out a lot when we we had free time. After B was eliminated, I overheard someone leave the cabin, and I saw that it was her. I followed her, and we had a VERY intimate conversation about our lives, and I realized she was a lot more insecure than I thought. We were stranded for some hours, and had to rely on one another to not get lost. We finally made our way back, and Anne Maria claimed that we were hooking up, which changed everything."
"Yes, she told us that you and Jo were hooking up, and you both tried to lecture her and Zoey about their triangle mess, only to be clocked yourselves. How did you feel about her bashing you, switching teams, and for her to eliminate you when you were both on the same team?" Josh commented, without looking at his interviewee, and waving his hand off.
He forced himself to calm down as he narrated, "Well, I told her previously that I didn't like the dark, and I didn't like ditching people because of a traumatic event that happened to me while I was at boot camp, where I was left in the middle of the night in the woods, and I was raided before being stranded. So she is mad at Anne Maria and Zoey for exposing her, and she's mad at me for... no reason. Jo was always aggressive and determined to win, but she took it too far in the challenge, and she told me to ditch the others, which is the LAST thing I wanted to do. It's a part of my code, and that's all you have, you know. Right before elimination, literally ALL of the other Maggots told me everything she said about me, and I already felt guilty about breaking my principles, so I was ready to just leave. After switching teams, I ignored her for the next few days, and refused to speak to her, which I knew would piss her off, but I was also tired of the drama. She had to get a whistle to bring me out of ignoring her, and then she mentioned something about being a squat thruster, which I didn't know if that was her attempt at flirting with me. What no one saw was that after the challenge, Jo was BALLING HER EYES OUT about getting a poor makeover by Mike, and I saw it, but decided to eavesdrop. Once she was put on my team, we went on our walks again, but it was more awkward. I wasn't shocked that Jo decided to eliminate me, and I REFUSED to make the same mistake twice, though she was nowhere near as angry with me as Lightning was."
Josh was getting bored, "How was things when she arrived to Playa des Losers, and after the show. Anne Maria told me that things got JUICY."
"When Jo got eliminated, she told us about the events that caused her demise, and I told her that she deserved it, and I was glad that Lightning took up my warnings about her. I really drilled it into her for about an hour, and then... we ran around the lot, and worked out for the rest of the day. Jo didn't get along with anyone else, so we spent all of our time together. We swam together, made protein shakes, and healthy meals together, pulled pranks on one another, went on walks, and whatever. We had never gotten along better, and we actually agreed to... keep in contact with one another. And for the next two years, that is exactly what we did. We went to races together, worked out together, I even took her to a military base, and Jo's a really cool girl once she is not in the competition, and not in her element. We were even planning on aligning together when we thought I was going to be on "All-Stars", until I was dropped last minute. She did not take it well, and she told me that it wasn't fun playing that season without me. All of a sudden, while we were meeting up with the third cast, Jo randomly brought up what I did with the first generation cast while Season 5 was filming, and she thought I was going to flirt with some of the third cast women. I then brought up that she was VERY insecure, and that I overheard her crying about the makeover challenge all the way back. We did not speak for a few years due to that argument," Brick revealed with sadness in his voice.
He wanted to get to the good stuff, and he was tired of being patient, "Listen up. I know that's not the end of it, since I heard you two hooked up after that, and she also got involved in your relationship with Dawn, and that ALL happened after this. GET. TO. THE. POINT."
Josh's condescending and aggressive tone caused him to snap, "NO, YOU BE QUIET, and BE A PROFESSIONAL FOR ONCE IN YOUR DAMN LIFE, SIR. You don't even DESERVE to be CALLED sir." He took a few breaths before continuing, "Anyways by this point, the show ended, meaning that everyone moved onto our everyday lives in privacy, and the yearly TD meetings and events stopped by this point, since we all went to post-secondary school. So I had not seen Jo in a few years, and I was at a conference for a sports line... I saw this blonde woman, and I realized that it was Jo, but... she was dressed in a softer, more warm way... for her at least. We reunited, and it was nice to have her in my life again. We agreed to be business partners, and I wanted her to be a model for my women's fitness line. A long story short, there was an... entanglement, and Anne Maria walked in on us. Both of us freaked out, and we kept things strictly business. But when I started dating Dawn, Jo got REALLY MAD, and I didn't get why, since she always stated that she wasn't interested in me. Those two started going at it REALLY HARD, and it put me in a bad position. What made things even worse was that Jo was trying to befriend B, who was Dawn's ex, and that was too convenient. We had a fallout, and we cursed one another out for EVERYTHING that happened throughout the last 6-7 years. We have not spoken in a few years, but I miss what was, in my opinion, becoming a friendship. Just being the first person to have that conversation, and to make initiative is very... scary to me, especially when it IS Jo. She infuriates but fascinates me."
The host was actually silent for a while, "Wow... I was not expecting things to be so complex between the two of you, and for so long. Definitely interested in hearing her side, though it's funny that you avoided the words of just saying y'all "hooked up" or "got together". Anyways, Lightning is next, and what do you think about him? You were on the same team as him for your last few episodes."
He received a picture of the strongest male in the cast, "I like Lightning, which might shock people. Him and I were the strongest guys in the cast, so we got along over that. I remember us talking about all of the different type of protein shakes we eat, and I offered to teach him some of the protein blends I learned while in boot camp. Unlike Jo, who felt the need to compete with me, Lightning never felt the need to do that. He is arrogant, but he never bothered anyone, at least while I was there. We were on different teams, so we hung out when we had off days. When I did join the Toxic Rats, he did yell at me about my alarm clock, but I kind of just blew him off, since the saying of the early bird catches the best worms fit with everything in life. We would often have body contests, where we would show off a part of it to judge whos was better. He's a real cool man, and I liked how firm he was about masculinity, and how men should embrace being men, which I thought was cool. Don't ask me how, but Lightning was able to get ahold of some of Chris and Chef's alcohol, and we camped out with Scott for days. What annoyed me about him was that he was not a very good listener, and he was REALLY mad at me for saving Mike, Zoey, and Cameron, even more than Jo was, which threw me off. I then started hearing about the stuff he was doing as the season went on, as everyone who was eliminated after me had their own stories, which turned me off from him. It just showed that he has VERY POOR sportsmanship, and that's something I HATE. Even Jo gave Cameron his props when he sent her home. Lightning's performance in the finale was atrocious, and I was disgusted by his display throughout that entire day, and I let him know that, which caused us to almost fight after the finale."
"Okay, so it's been mentioned throughout the interviews, even with the original cast that Lightning was living with several people after the season, and even going onto "All-Stars". What did you think about the mess happening with his family disowning him and stuff?"
"He did make a brief comment about not being close with his mother, and that he would be in HUGE trouble if he didn't win the season. I never got to talk with it further, but I told him that if he needed to talk, I would be there. About a month or so after the season finished, he actually called me saying that he needed a place to live, and he was BALLING HIS EYES OUT. My parents let him move in, and it was just the two of us, since my parents were essentially always taking care of soldiers out of the country. We got along, and it was a TOTAL brofest. He's always a good person to get hype with. But things fell apart after a few months for a few seasons. One was that Jo decided to visit my house, and the two had a HUGE blowup; food was thrown all over the place, and my room was... dismantled from them throwing everything. Also, Lightning ate all of my protein food, so he had to go. During that time, he told me A LOT of personal stuff, and I saw him different in a good way. We've remained in contact over the years, have done some athletic modeling shoots with one another, and have given one another career opportunities whenever we've needed. He's always a fun person to talk to, and really isn't as bad as he comes across. We travel together at least once every year, and he's good for a guys trip, which happens every single year."
Josh went to grab another picture to hand to Brick, "Mike is the next person on the list, and I don't remember seeing you two talk, outside of him saluting you during your elimination. How was it like dealing with him?"
A confused face formed as he was looking at Mike's picture, "He was someone that I found was hard to talk to during the season. He seemed nice enough at times, and he was always respectful, but there was... very little connection, and he was trying to put on an act. Of course there were moments where he was not... himself, and I tried to offer my assistance, since I recognize severe trauma in people, and I go to a therapist, but he never wanted to have those conversations with me. We did have a conversation, where he was confused about Jo and I's interactions, and thought that we liked one another, though I called him out for his triangle drama, and that HE is the one who needs to break it up, since he had all of the control. Mike was eliminated not too long after I was, and he confessed to EVERYTHING, and he really confided in me. We told one another about our traumas in our lives, and I told him that I saw some horrible things due to my parents career, and the assault I went through, and he also went through similar... assaults, which did trigger him. He wanted me to help him mediate things with Anne Maria for those last several weeks, as they had MANY heated fights, and it did get physical at times. The two of us tanned together a lot, and it was just fun seeing him ease down. Seeing him go through the Mal situation on the next season was hard to watch, and I was pissed off that he had a... part in the final cast being the way it is."
"What are you talking about? Are you alluding that he had control of the cast of Season 5, and it put you at a disadvantage?"
"Well, he, Cameron, and Zoey reported that Anne Maria, Lightning, Jo, Scott, and I were planning a pre-game alliance for "All-Stars", and it was definitely true, but it was nothing that no one else wasn't doing. That caused for Anne Maria and I to be cut last minute, and I confronted the three of them about it after the season ended. He really didn't have a good excuse about it, and it hurt me, since it let me know that they never saw me as equal to them, as the three of them saw one another. I honestly did not speak to any of them for a few years, but things with Mike and I got better. He had a mental health convention, and he wanted me to be a spokesperson for it, since I told him of some of the traumas I went through, and I WAS drafted for a few months. War was not for me, and I truly saw some horrible things. We are both representatives for the same mental health charities, and I see him once every year or two. He is cool with me in my book, but we aren't best friends."
Josh wanted to stir the pot, "So I was told that you and Sam were kind of friends during your season, but then you kind of turned on him to fit in with Scott and Lightning, while also getting mad at him about being dropped from Season 5 over him. What is your perspective on this?"
He was confused with how the question was presented, "What are you talking about sir? That is incorrect information, and we at the base knows that broken telephone is dangerous. Sam and I got along from the beginning, since he was always down to go on an adventure, and to be a knight in shining armor, which I did respect. Sam would always be the one who would find ways for us to entertain ourselves during our free time, would come up with random games for us to play, sometimes out of nothing. He would take us on all of these adventures, and it was really fun. But something... did change between us, especially once I joined the Toxic Rats, and I think it was his insecurities. He saw Lightning, Scott, and I start to get along, and we all have more... fit bodies, and more... typically masculine statures, and he would comment on it A LOT. Lightning and Sam had been going at it all season, and I didn't understand all of it, and he had MAJOR issues with Scott over the night challenge. All of a sudden, Sam is yelling at me, calling me fake for trying to be like those "toxic males", and I didn't understand that. I related to all three of them in different ways. Dawn would mediate our little arguments, but things between the two of us got even worse once she left. He was telling the others to target me, and I wasn't going to take that. Being a man TO ME, means being confident in yourself, and he wasn't that. Once I was sent out right afterwards, we did start to bond, and it was nice to get to know him outside of the context of the game. He was a lot more nervous about the Dakotazoid thing than he let on, and while a part of him was excited about it, he was scared about it as well. I was the person he told all of his feelings about the issue, in and out of the show."
"So how were things like after the season, and how did the mess that happened with the "All Stars" casting mess things up? I mean, you MUST have been offended that he was chosen over you. I thought it was a fucking joke, and so did the fanbase."
Brick tried to give a straight face that didn't show emotion, but he failed at it, "Well... I was upset at him initially, because with the way it was reported TO ME, it was told that he was a part of Mike, Zoey, and Cameron's request to get Anne Maria and I off the show. I had no problem with him being cast, though I thought it was a bit odd, but the method I was told about it caused some tension. Apparently he was told about my... disappointment about not being cast, but he was told in a way to make me look like a hater, so Sam avoided me for MONTHS after that season filmed, and THAT pissed me off. We let someone... Cameron, meddle into what was a good friendship at the time, and the WORST thing is that they didn't even keep him over Sierra, someone they just met. Cameron was mad that I was close to Lightning, and wanted to turn Sam against me, and have him cast to weaken Lightning. He was unfortunately a pawn that was used. After that season aired, the two of us got close again, after we realized everything that happened, and I think it was... Harold and Cody who brought us together, since I became close to them, and he was close to them as well. When Dakota started transitioning back to normal, Sam felt insecure again, so he wanted me to help not only train him, but become his fashion consultant, and it was a nice way for us to bond again. She started treating him pretty poorly due to her newfound look and confidence, but then he got mad me me for defending him, so I've stepped aside. We're still cool either way."
Scott's picture was put on the table, "So what did you think of the villain of your season Scott? I just remember him being REALLY ANNOYED at your alarm clock, and trying to get you out, before Dawn self sabotaged."
"I don't even know how to describe Scott to be honest. There was something... off with him, but there was no proof that he was a villain, at least while I was there for the most part. Scott was always relatively aggressive, and had a bitter sense of humor, so it was hard to approach him, even compared to someone like Jo, but I did respect how he just did his own thing, without caring what anyone thought. I DID know that he was insecure, as he saw guys like Mike, Lightning, and I who were a bit more defined than he was, so I wasn't shocked that he attacked Mike and I during the third challenge. He gave me a good fight, but of course he wasn't going to beat me. Of course we switched teams, and I didn't know that he had it out for me, and was trying to set me up. After Dawn left, Scott actually DID confess to me about everything that happened with the last episode, and when we had a few drinks, we had a very good time with one another. He's really funny, and I like how he just doesn't give a fuck about anything. In general, we did not keep in touch whatsoever after the season, and whenever the group met up, we had small talk, but that was it. That was... until we wanted to find out who his secret girlfriend was. We set up a HUGE investigation, like we were all spies and stuff."
Josh could not help but laugh at that, "I didn't realize it was that serious. Why did you all care so much?"
He continued on with his narration, "Well... Scott became a lot more positive, helpful, cheerful, and started smiling a lot more, so we ALL wanted to know what would cause this sudden personality change. With me, Scott started asking for fashion advice, since he wanted to "groom himself" to be as dashing as he could be, and he also told me that he was dating someone, while asking me for advice about that. With the wardrobe he was asking me to help him with, it was all VERY PREPPY, so I and a few others eventually realized that he was dating Courtney. But what made things interesting was that there were NO HINTS on social media, since they did a good job of hiding it. A few of us went to Sierra, and she did confirm the news, but she was given a gag order by Scott and Courtney. We asked him about ALL of this, and it caused for a HUGE blowup between him and everyone else. That was about 5 years ago, and he said that I was a traitor, where he still refuses to speak to me, though they allegedly broke up."
The host started to get bored, as he handed out another picture, "So the first boot Staci. What do you think of her? All she did was just yap about nothing, so I assume you don't have many thoughts on her, but maybe you will shock me."
"Honestly, not really. I didn't get a chance to speak to her before she was booted, and when I was eliminated, she was very close to B and Dawn. She was just very nosy, and kept asking about Jo and I, like something was happening between the two of us. After the season, she started digging into our families, and wanted to know a bunch of secrets regarding them, and she claimed that my mother was assaulted while working in the war, which... which was how I got... conceived, and said that my father wasn't mine. After all of the stuff she said about other people's families, I saw that she had no honor, decorum, or respect for anyone, as she was spilling some family secrets, and some outright lies about the cast to Sierra. We had a sitdown about it during the next year, and Staci denied everything, which just pissed me off even more, and I did threaten to sue her. She did calm down in the succeeding years, and when I was dating Dawn, she was able to get us to make up with one another, and to create peace, though we were never friends at any point."
"Alright, the final person is Zoey. How were things between the two of you? I don't remember seeing you two interact much on the show, despite being on the same team for the majority of your time on the season?"
He received her picture, and started to smile, "Zoey is a badass chick, and I respect her a lot. They didn't delve into this on the show, but she has military parents who taught her a lot about physicality, and other militaristic skills, so we did bond about that. Her parents did not force her to go into boot camp, or train her to be a soldier herself, like mine was, so she was still blind to certain things. Zoey told me all about her parents essentially sheltering her from society and entertainment, so she said that she wanted to get more cultured, and to build friends. What annoyed me was that she kind of let all of that go to focus on Mike, and then she would drag people into her mess with Anne Maria, which was not only annoying, but it ruined team morale. I remember sitting both of them down, and I had to put on my bad cop outfit to tell them to get their shit together. It only caused an argument with the three of us, actually the four of us, since it involved Jo, and they sided together for that moment. After switching teams, I did not speak to her that much, and she was getting closer to Cameron and Mike, but it did warm my heart that she went out of her way to salute me when I left. We said earlier in the season that we would do that if either one of us were eliminated, and she remembered. When she joined Playa, she told me about her PTSD kicking in, and it reminded me of what I went through when I was younger at boot camp, so we talked through that, and it was another way that we bonded. We kept in contact here and there on social media for the next few years, but she was ALSO mad at the BS Staci tried to pull on our families, stating that there was this whole mess that got her parents kicked out of the military. She knew about Cameron and I's issues, and tried sitting us down to come to a resolve. I thought we did come to a resolve, but Cameron was still mad at me. We're not the best of friends, but keep in contact a few times a year."
Josh was glad that the collage was over with, "That's great. Now that we got through the cast, I want to know your impressions on the other two casts. Just tell me your thoughts on them throughout the years."
"Well, I actually do speak to most of the first cast since, since I bonded with the... ladies by my... dance moves, and other inappropriate stuff, but my closest friends are definitely the men. I am good friends with all of the Drama Brothers, which means I am good with Leshawna, Gwen, Beth, and somewhat Sierra. Tyler, DJ, Owen, and Geoff are also cool friends of mine. Katie, Sadie were very nice to me when I met them, Lindsay is a nice girl whenever I visit them, and I don't really deal with the others like that. I actually did a few shoots with Alejandro, since we're both part time models as well, and he was... a lot. With the third cast, I am close with Rodney and Topher, who also models. Shawn and I go on long heists together, and I'm cool with Sammy and Jasmine as well. Sky is also a good friend of mine, and we had a lot of fun playing sports together when our casts met up after their season aired. Beardo is a nice dude, and Ella is good friends with Dawn, so I saw her A LOT when we were dating. Dave and I did not get along, I found Sugar to be disrespectful, and I don't deal with the others."
"Alright, last question so we can wrap this shit up. What did you learn from your experience on the show, and what have you been up to in the last 9 years since the show?"
Brick had a huge grin on his face as he thought back, "The main thing I learned from my time on the show is that you have to be confident in who you are, and you need to embrace yourself. For a while, I had it instilled in me that I had to be tough all the time, since I was initially picked on, and had a lot of trauma that I did, and still do suffer from, and I felt like I had to follow my family's footsteps. But by the end, I had a lot more confidence in myself, my vision, my talents, and knew that going for fashion was the way to go, and I could also combine my athleticism. So soon after the show, I told my parents that I need to follow my own footsteps, and while they were mad about it, they supported me. I went to fashion school after completing high school, and luckily a lot of the contestants were already in that business, so the networking was easy. Then I started modeling for athletic gear, and then that turned into me modeling for anything, but it was a stepping stone to get to where I wanted to be. Eventually I started my sports gear line, and I am a huge advocate for mental illness, so I am involved in many mental health charities and programs. Being a personal trainer is on my list to complete, and adding my own militaristic elements would make it unique."
The pair then got up to shake one another's hands, "Well thank you for coming to the interview Brick. You seem like you are doing well for yourself, and it will only continue from here on out."
