AN:Thanks to Temporal King and NobodyOwens5 for shooting me a review. I appreciate it greatly! The main goal of this is relationship development, so I really do hope I pull it off right! Handing down the thrown of King of the Galaxy to Rito will happen, but I gotta lay the groundwork for that! I love the suggestions!

Please give any feedback you have in the form of a review.

As usual, my beta is XenoTime39 who makes some fine fanfictions as well! Check him out if you're interested!

It was after school the very next day when Lala had told Rito that her room was finally done. It had taken overall three days and four nights, which surprised Rito, but he chalked up the speediness up to alien tech.

Rito and Mikan sat on the former's bed as Lala and Zastin, who had come over to help, checked everything to make sure the room was safe.

"Everything checks out Lala-sama. You can show Rito-dono and Mikan Yuuki it with my full confidence!"

"Thanks for your help Zastin!" Lala said, giddy about the unveiling. "I present to both of you, my room and laboratory!" Lala said with her hands outstretched in a showy gesture.

Rito looked into his former closet and was shocked to see just the amount of space that Lala was able to make out of nothing. "Space technology sure is something," Rito muttered as he took in everything the room had to offer.

It wasn't exactly a normal room as the whole atmosphere of the room screamed technology. There were bright lights that seemed more utilitarian than atmospheric. The contents of the room were various setups of tables stacked with gizmos and tool-looking devices.

"What's all those things?" Mikan asked as she pointed to a shelf. The shelf contained many figures that seemed to all have a swirl displayed on it somewhere.

"Ah, those are my inventions! We have Chomp Munchy Eater-Kun here, Bum Bym Bat-kun there-"

"We get it. We get it. You have a lot of inventions. They better be deactivated right now. We don't need any accidents to happen in this house." Rito scolded.

"It'll be fine. All of them have been turned off right now. Most of the inventions here are just… slightly broken you could say. I've stored all the super-duper inventions in my D-Dial!"

"I hope that means that the dangerous ones are far away," Rito commented. 'Then again, knowing the extent of alien tech, anything Lala shows is probably super dangerous or at least out of human capabilities.' Rito noted.

"Rest assured Rito-dono, I went through all of the inventions that Lala wanted to store in the shop. They all would require some adjustments to cause any real harm at this time. Lala-sama's D-dial will definitely keep back the dangerous equipment unless necessary."

"Riiight," Lala said.

"Putting that aside," Mikan said, "Are all these things self-sufficient? Because it would be quite the pain to pay the electricity for a supercomputer," she said pointing to the massive screen on her right.

"Ah, well I applied Space Distortion to Rito's closet to expand it, so it shouldn't be connected to anywhere in the house except through that doorway. That is, everything in here runs on power generated from the interface I have here." Lala explained, showing off a rectangular cube that plugged into the side of the wall.

"That's reassuring," Rito said. "Although, I don't see a bed or any other furniture here. What's up with that?"

"Oh, well that's all squirreled away here." Lala lifted a lever that suddenly gave way to a rectangular selection of the wall, leading to more of the room. "Here's where I keep everything else!"

Rito looked around to find a dresser. "So that's where you stored the outfits I bought for you."

"Yep hehe. Did you think I'd throw them away?" Lala giggled.

Shaking his head in amazement, Rito just stood in awe of his regular closet being expanded into a spacious lab that rivals the entire house's room.

"Oh, found some old photos," Mikan said, sliding her finger across a circular device.

"Ah, Snap-Snap Clip-kun!" Lala chimed in.

Rito took one look at the device. It was a sleek, flat interface that framed pictures of a younger Lala. "Oh, it's like the slideshow feature on computers."

Lala pouted in response to that. "Rito, Snap-Snap Clip-kun can do much more than be a slideshow! He can send the pictures in his catalog anywhere I want, and he can even post it as an image like this!" Lala took the Snap-Snap Clip-kun from Mikan's hands and put an arm around Rito's shoulders. Hearing a small beep, Rito wondered what Lala was on about as she separated from him and put her device to a wall. Lala clicked the interface and when Lala took the device off the wall, the result was a surprise to the Yuuki siblings. What lay on the wall now stood an image of Lala posing for the picture, all bunched up with Rito and Rito looking off.

"That's pretty cool!" Rito said, at the same time thinking, 'Earth technology can kind of do that. It just takes separate gadgets. I probably shouldn't mention it to Lala. She seems strangely competitive when it comes to her gadgets.'

"Yeah, it is cool. I bet that was just a chance to get a picture of you and Rito together though," Mikan pointed out.

Blushing slightly from being found out, Lala giggled and said, "Hehe, Maybeee!" Suddenly, Lala said, "I know! Do you two wanna watch me make an invention?"

"Sure/Of course!" Rito and Mikan said, respectively, with the latter looking extremely interested in the process."

Everyone gathered around a free table with Mikan and Rito looking more interested on one side and Zastin cautiously looking over everyone.

"Lala-sama, are you sure it's safe for you to make a new invention in their presence?"

"It'll be alright! Don't be such a worry wart!" Lala took out a magic wand gadget with wings at the top. "This is the Almighty Tool! It helps me make inventions wherever I go!"

'I have a feeling that the Almighty Tool is going to be used a lot in the future,' deadpanned Rito in his thoughts.

In an instant, Lala had gathered a bunch of material into a shape. The invention morphed and seemed almost fluid in nature in how everything was flowing together. Lala waved her Almighty Tool and the whole thing squashed together to form a-a a frog?

"You made a frog invention?" Mikan asked.

"Yep! Say hello to Ribbity-Hoppity Jump-kun. It can grow up to five times its original size and can transport others with its extreme jumping capabilities!"

"Extreme? That doesn't sound very safe." Rito said.

Lala pouted in response. "Jeez, Rito, don't you trust me?"

Rito pretended to think about it and said, "I guess," in an unconvincing manner. Seeing that Lala's pout increased, he laughed and said, "I'm just messing with you Lala!"

"Oh," murmured Lala, whose face was now red in embarrassment.

"Now that you two are done flirting, can I take a ride on Jump-kun?"

Lala brightened up, saying, "Of course you can!" Lala grabbed her invention off of the table and placed it on the floor of the lab. "Be sure to strap in to stay safe!"

Mikan eagerly got onto the invention which had grown larger to accommodate her. She strapped in with the seatbelts hanging out the back. "Alright, I think I'm all good to go!"

"I'll start Jump-kun then." Lala said, flipping the switch which just so happened to be on the model frog's tongue.

While this was all going on, Rito couldn't help but be amazed at how intricate the invention was. It was only created just moments ago!

The machine put out some frog croaks and then started jumping around the room at a controlled pace.

"Hahaha, this is kinda fun! It's not that rough when it hops around." Mikan commented.

"Right? I tried to make it a smooth ride even though the hopping itself would be sudden." Lala said.

"Well, you did a great job Lala!" Mikan said.

"It does certainly appear that Lala-sama's inventions have worked the way it's supposed to so far." Zastin commented.

"So far? Do you think Jump-kun is going to malfunction?" Rito asked.

"In my experience as Lala-sama's caretaker, initially they will work just fine, but soon afterwards they will spiral out of control. Very rarely do I see her invention work with no kinks per say in them."

Rito was worried from Zastin's solemn assessment so he yelled out to Mikan, "Hey, I think it's time for you to take a break from Jump-kun, alright?"

"Fine, fine. Lala, how do I get Jump-kun to stop?"

Lala froze. "A-ah, about that."

Rito put his hands on both of her shoulders and made her look into his eyes. "Lala, tell me, how is Mikan going to get down?"

"Uh, you know that switch that I flipped to get Ribbity-Hoppity Jump-kun started?"

"Yes…" Rito said.

"Well, it seems that's the only way to turn him off," Lala said, hitting her own head with a "teehee".

Rito merely said, "Lala."

"Y-yes. Rito?"

Rito's hands started shaking Lala back and forth as he said, "Why. Didn't. You. Make. A. Remote!"

"Uwaaaa, I didn't think of it! I'm sorrrrrry."

While Rito was scolding Lala, Mikan was starting to be thrown around a little harder each time as Jump-kun sped up. "Uhhh it's getting to be a really rough ride now."

"Uh oh," Lala gasped, "Ribbity-Hoppity Jump-kun is accelerating it's jump intervals! It must be overheating."

The machine jumped around the lab at an extreme speed. Suddenly, its direction turned to the doorway.

"It's headed for the door. It's trying to escape!" yelled Rito.

"I'll stop it. Don't worry, Rito-dono," Zastin said, drawing his sword against the machine as he stood in between it and the door.

"Pleaaase doon't hiit meee" Mikan screamed out, slurring her words as she became dizzier and dizzier getting flung around.

The machine made its move towards the door and Zastin carefully slashed at its leg. Unfortunately, the machine had gotten a foot on Zastin's head, throwing him to the ground as it went for another jump, escaping.

Rito stood there with a hard expression on his face as he saw the light damage that Jump-kun had done to the lab and at the knocked-out state of Zastin.

A nervous laugh began to come out of Lala. "Uh, my mistake?"

A poignant silence was Rito's response as he took his time to collect his thoughts.

"Lala, you're going to tell me how we can go get Mikan from Jump-kun okay?"

"Y-yes!"

(-)

Rito ran towards the inner city of Sainan Town, passing the 7-twelve convenience store. 'Lala told me that the only way to shut off Jump-kun is to flick the switch in its mouth, just like when she turned it on. That can only really be done when it lands during its hopping. I'll have to be fast!' thought Rito.

Rito's phone rang, interrupting his thoughts. Not stopping his running, he picked up. "Hey, Rito. I found Mikan-chan!"

"You did? Where is she, Lala?" The two of them, and Zastin, had split up to go look for Mikan with Lala being able to use the advantage of her anti-gravity wings to search through the sky.

"U-uh, she's close to this supermarket called- I think it's pronounced Super Vegetable?"

"She's at Super Vegeta? That means she's in the shopping district already. Keep a close eye on her. I'm heading that way now. Keep me updated on her location if she goes too far away."

"Roger that," Lala said, playfully. Rito hung up as he ran towards the shopping district.

Meanwhile

'I must make haste to assist Lala-sama and Rito-dono!' thought Zastin as he ran all over Sainan Town. 'I hope this doesn't make Rito-dono rethink the engagement. The two are a perfect fit, and Lala-sama would be devastated.'

Passing by a dog lazily tied to a post, Zastin thought, 'No! I must not lose faith in Rito-dono! He wouldn't leave Lala-sama over this, I'm sure of it. I should've spoken up earlier about Lala-sama's… quirks. I will endeavor to do bett-' "Aiii!" screamed out Zastin.

Zastin looked down at where the pain originated. For some reason, a dog had bitten over the Devilukean armor, putting great pressure on his leg. Zastin tried to pry the dog off, but it was to no avail. He instead carried on.

Zastin didn't know where he was going, but he was going to try his best damnit!

(-)

"I'm almost there," grunted Rito as his sight of the shopping district came into view. He could hear some screams, which Rito took as a sign of Mikan indeed still being in the area.

Rito quickly ran ahead, catching sight of a flash of green. Taking a closer look, it was Mikan! Rito ran closer to try to catch up. It was working, but the machine could keep a steady pace while having no worry of where to land. Rito on the other hand, was already tired and had to constantly look up to not get crushed by Jump-kun.

Rito could see that the machine was hopping in a trajectory to hit someone! Quickening his sprint, he saw Jump-kun jump to the person, a shadow overcast them. With speed that Rito didn't know he had, he pushed her out of the way.

"Guh," Rito grunted out as he hadn't left unscathed. His leg got caught and was massively bruised up from having that much weight land on it wrong. Managing to get up, somehow, Rito gave a hand to the person that he had pushed down. "Are you alright? I hope you didn't get hurt from that."

"Eh?" The person he saved turned out to be a girl it seems. Wide eyed, she answered, "Y-yes, I'm good."

"Good to hear," Rito said, smiling, genuinely happy that she was not hurt by Jump-kun. Rito didn't want to feel guilty that it was his fiance's machine that hurt someone. And that also meant Mikan wasn't allowed to get hurt!

He trudged along, grunting every time he put weight on his left leg.

"Y-you're hurt! Let me help," the girl said from behind him.

Turning his head, he replied, "Don't worry about me. I'll be fine." Giving no further thought to the girl, Rito once again ran in the direction Jump-kun went.

"Ritooooo!" yelled out a voice from above. Rito looked up to see Lala who was wearing her alien outfit that Peke transformed into.

"Lala, can you carry me while flying? That'd be much easier to flick the switch then!"

"Sure, that sounds like a good idea!" Lala picked up Rito bridal style, while accelerating towards Jump-kun.

The two of them failed to see the girl that Rito saved changed her expression to disgust the moment she saw Lala.

Meanwhile

An armored, tall, blonde man could be seen running with a dog holding on to his leg with his teeth. The man was considerably handsome which would usually attract some eyes, but the armor he had on made every one of the general public stare because they thought he was some cosplayer doing some wacky skit.

'I haven't had any luck looking for Mikan Yuuki on top of Jump-kun. I wonder if Lala-sama and Rito-dono are having any luck on their end.' Zastin aimlessly thought.

Zastin ran some more before being confronted by a bystander. "Excuse me sir, but this is a Water Park. That means that your cosplaying is not appropriate for this setting."

"Excuse me sir, but I am attempting to look for Milord's younger sister who is trapped on a hopping frog. Would you happen to know where I should look?" Zastin calmly asked.

The employee looked Zastin in the eye and said, "I'll direct you sir. Follow me."

Zastin followed the employee who didn't stray far from the water park but pointed to a building a little ways away from it. "That's where you'll most likely find your lord's little sister.

"Ah, you have my thanks!"

"It was no problem," murmured the employee as he ran off.

Zastin ran straight towards the building. He noticed lots of people that had costumes on and others that looked as if aliens were present. 'Is this a focal point for alien activity? I better check this out…' Little did Zastin know that on a sign nearby, it advertised that very building as being for an anime convention.

While Zastin was as lost as a dead fish, Lala and Rito were in the skies, following the trail of Jump-kun. Rito couldn't help but blush involuntarily because of the embarrassment of being carried bridal style.

"Lala, we can't keep just following along. We're going to have to make a move soon if we want Mikan to stay safe!"

"Right, what's the plan?"

"Hmm, I think the best way for this to work is if you drop me onto Jump-kun and hold him back for a few seconds."

"I can do that! Devilukean strength is very powerful."

"Good, just let go though if it's too much for you. I don't want you to get hurt from overexerting yourself."

A light blush made its way to Lala's face. "Mm" she nodded.

With the plan set in stone, Lala flew a little harder, overtaking Jump-kun , so as to drop Rito on it easier.

"Are you ready, Rito?" Lala asked, making sure.

Rito braced himself. "Ready."

Lala complied and dropped in, making him land belly first on the moving machine. Grunting at the wind taken from his landing, Rito got a sense of his surroundings.

"Ritoooo, saaaavvveee meeee!" cried out Mikan who was holding onto her straps for dear life.

"Don't worry, I'm on it!" Rito had to just stick his hand into the mouth of Jump-kun and flip the switch. "Oof" Another grunt escaped him as Jump-kun landed, knocking him a little over the side of it.

""Rito!"" Cried out both Lala and Mikan.

"I'm fine, you two! Lala, get ready to hold back Jump-kun." Rito readjusted his weight on the machine to get a better angle when he was given the chance to flip the switch.

Seeing that Jump-kun was about to land, Rito said, "Now, Lala!"

"On it!" Falling to the ground with great speed, Lala caught her machine, grasping the front legs, immobilizing it.

Rito knew he didn't have much time, so he got to work. He reached into the mouth of the machine, felt around, and knew he had the switch in his fingers. With just one click Jump-kun stopped squirming in Lala's grasp and shrunk to its original size, releasing Mikan from its seat.

Mikan immediately went to Rito's arms and as she was held in his arms, with his hand on her back and rubbing her head, her heartbeat started to slow back down to its original calm pace.

"I'm glad you're alright," said Rito.

"T-thank you," replied a blushing Mikan who recognized the position she was in.

"Hey, can you do a favor for me, Mikan?"

"Eh, sure. What is it?"

Cupping his hands to whisper to Mikan, he said, "Don't blame Lala too much for this. I'm sure she already feels pretty bad about this."

"I wasn't going to," murmured Mikan. Pouting, she asked, "Did you think I wouldn't approve any longer of your bride?"

Laughing at Mikan's expression, he ruffled her hair and said, "I'm just looking out for her. Being new to Earth, I bet she wants to get a lot of things right, so when she doesn't it might hurt more."

"Huh… that's kinda sweet of you, Rito."

"Kind of? Aren't I always the sweetest brother in the world?" he said, giving her a noogie.

"Owwwww! Lala, please help me! You must control your evil fiance, he's hurting me!"

As Lala came over to see what the matter was, after putting away Jump-kun of course, she simply laughed at the mischievous smile that Rito had and the frightened face of Mikan. 'It's fun to see close siblings reunite,' Thought Lala. "You can lay off of Mikan-chan, now Rito. We should probably head back home."

"You're right," he said, stopping his hand from tormenting his little sister's head. "I am pretty tired from all this, let's go."

The three walked away from this, or rather, Mikan and Lala walked away and Rito was given Lala's arm to walk off of.

It's too bad that the three forgot about a certain blonde bodyguard that was also helping out in the scramble to find Mikan.

(-)

Said blonde bodyguard was stumbling out of the building that he was directed to. 'That place was filled with many many strange humans,' thought Zastin, tired from the experience. A slight shiver came down his spine as he remembered the traumatic experience. 'I hope I never have to enter a place like that ever again…' thought Zastin.

Zastin shook off those thoughts and his mind instantly drifted to Lala and Rito. 'I can only hope that Lala-sama and Rito-dono were able to find Mikan Yuuki without my assistance. Given that I am lost, I should probably ask a random bystander where exactly I am.'

So, with that goal in mind, he walked down a road that seemed enclosed for some reason. Hearing a scream of some kind, he paid it no mind as he poked the back of a man.

The man turned around, showing his agitated, disgusted self. "What the hell do you want, you pretty boy bastard? Are you trying to be a knight in shining armor to these ladies? How chivalrous of you." He said in a mocking voice.

"Excuse me, sir. Would you happen to be able to tell me where exactly I am?"

"Wha-" that stopped the thug in his tracks before he shook his head and then threw a punch at Zastin. It hit dead on, but Zastin's face didn't move. "Well, you're not very helpful," Zastin noted before backhanding the man's face, knocking him out with a single attack.

Zastin walked down the alley, not noticing that he had saved two frightened schoolgirls.

Zastin tried to make heads or tails of his surroundings, but he just didn't know where he was.

"Hey, you!" a voice called out to Zastin.

Zastin turned around and said, "Uh, are you talking to me?"

"A man with a bandana on his head said, "Yeah man! Would you please do some poses for me? That armor of yours looks sick!"

(-)

The regular shenanigans of school continued the next day. Some teasing from Saruyama, some instances of groping from Risa and Mio that Rito had to get Haruna to put an end to, you know, the usual. When class started, however, Rito noticed that the teacher had an announcement for the class.

"This might be sudden for some of you, but we have another new student. Come on in."

An attractive light green, long haired girl walks in. Two strands of hair stubbornly stand on top, as if they're waving.

The teacher monotonously said, "Introduce yourself."

The girl obediently bows and says, "My name is Run Elsie Jewelria. It's nice to meet all of you." At the end of her introduction, her eyes wandered around class until they stopped on Rito. The girl's face then brightens up with a megawatt smile as she jogs over to Rito, tackling him as she cries out, "It's you!"
