"There's a snake waiting outside for you." Lily sneered as she entered the girl's bathroom. Arielle twisted her face in disgust as she finished applying her lipstick, giving Lily a dirty look she marched out of the bathroom and into the Gryffindor common room. Having a private bathroom was nice but she had to share with Lily; everything comes with a price. She held her chin high, as she walked through the common room where everyone suddenly became quiet and the whispers ensued.

She could not be more relieved when she was out of the Gryffindor's sights and in the hallway.

"You look amazing." A voice said behind her. She turned around to see Evan Rosier with a huge grin on his face. She had grown up a lot in the last year, which was clearly presented in the outfit she was wearing. She wore tight black skinny jeans with a red sleeveless midriff that covered her forearms. Her long black hair was pulled back neatly in a high ponytail, allowing her hair to fall to her shoulders and reveal her round yet haughty facial features.

Arielle smirked at the boy as he gazed at her in awe.

"Like what you see Rosier?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Don't tease me Ari." He said with a laugh offering his arm.

They walked mostly in silence to the Slytherin common room.

"Hey Ari.." Evan said grabbing her arm before she strutted into the party.

"What is it Evan?" She asked in a mild tone noting the worried expression he was now sporting.

"Listen, I don't know what kinda stuff they get up to at the Gryffindor parties, but just don't feel pressured or obligated to do anything you don't want to do…."

"Okay." Arielle said cautiously unsure of what Evan was insinuating.

Arielle took his arm again and the pair walked into the dungeon. The music was loud but the conversation quieted when everyone saw Rosier walk in the Arielle. Whispers ensued as the Slytherin teens embarked on their gossip. Evan slowly snaked his hand into the Gryffindor's, giving her a gentle squeeze of reassurance before he led her to his group of friends who were sitting on the leather sofas at the far end of the room.

"Why is she here?" Vanity sneered when she saw Arielle approaching.

"I invited her Emma, is that at problem?" Evan spat back.

Emma snorted but remained silent. The blonde began running her fingers through Regulus's hair and casting hateful gazes at Arielle. Ari rolled her eyes and took a seat on the couch across the table next to Avery who had a red-headed girl in a sluttly black dress sitting on his lap.

"Well don't you look sexy." Avery smirked doing a double take and raising his eyebrows suggestively.

"I'm flattered." Arielle said in an cold tone which caused Evan to laugh and Regulus to snort in amusement.

"Can I get you drink Arielle?" Evan asked. Arielle couldn't help the fear that spread through her body at the thought of Evan leaving her alone with these people. She needed to play it cool...there just Slytherins, you've known them for years.

"That would be lovely Ev." She cooed with a flirty gaze. Evan blushed before going to fetch her drink.

Arielle shifted uncomfortably in her seat as all the Slytherin elites stared at her with various expressions. They sat in silence, it was unbearable.

"This music is absolute shit." Arielle finally remarked. Avery burst out into laughter, slowly followed by Mulciber, Crabbe, Goyle, their trashy escorts and even Regulus. Emma's face turned bright red in fury.

"You're a guest at this party, not the host." She nearly yelled.

"Obviously." Arielle replied before taking her wand out and changing the music with a quick spell.

The beautiful sound of The Rolling Stones filled the air.

"Muggle music?" Emma groaned folding her arms in defiance.

"If muggles are good at one thing it's music, try to be more cultured Emma." She mocked.

Surprisingly they all sort of nodded their heads in reluctant agreement with Arielle much to Emma's annoyance.

"Here you go Arielle." Evan said as he handed her a fire whiskey and sat down next to her on the couch with a big sigh.

"Who changed the music? I'm liking this." He said bobbing his head back and forth. Arielle didn't hesitate to send Emma a condensing smile.

Three rounds of drinks later and Arielle seemed to be taking this party by storm. She chatted up all the Slytherin girls who came up to her in reluctant fear, entertained all of Rosier's friends, and got friendly with Evan who was now holding her by the waist as she downed her four fire whiskey.

"Evan.." Regulus called motioning for his friend. Evan nodded and grabbed Arielle's hand pulling her out of the spotlight and into the back room. Arielle sunk into the leather couch next to Emma, but both girls were too buzzed to care. Arielle took a minute to scan the room.

Avery, Black, Rosier and Mulciber seemed to be chatting secretly in the corner while Emma, Arielle, Lucinda and a few other girls she didn't recognize sat on the couches. The boys made their way with smirks over to the ladies. Arielle rolled her eyes, clearly they were up to no good. Regulus took a seat in between Emma and Arielle smoothly lifting his arms up and around both of them.

"How would you ladies like to get the real party started?" He slurred suggestively. Arielle raised an eyebrow studying Black's demeanour. He was intoxicated, that much was clear considering he had wrapped his arm around her shoulder. His green tie had been loosened, his shirt was untucked with the first few buttons opened revealing a bit of his muscular chest. Arielle looked up at Evan questionably, but he merely shrugged in response.

Suddenly Wilkes, who had been absent the whole party burst through the door, shut it, and whispered a charm before walking over to the table and dropping three small bags filled with white powder onto the table.

"Is that what I think it is? I thought we were getting pot!" Emma shouted standing up abruptly from the couch.

"I told you to leave the sluts outside." Wilkes spat at Regulus but more out of fear than anger.

"If you want to hang with the big kids Emma, this is part of the deal. Anyone who doesn't want to stay should leave now."

Arielle watched as Emma slowly sat down as the other girls left the room. She looked up at Evan who seemed to be shaking in rage.

"What the hell Regulus?" He shouted.

"What?" Regulus asked looking taken aback by his friend's outburst.

"You could get into to some serious shit if anyone caught you with this!" He said pointing at the table.

"Well I don't plan on getting caught." He replied smoothly despite his obvious drunken state.

Arielle stood up and placed a hand on Evan's chest. "It's okay Evan."

He looked down at Arielle in utter confusion. Was she seriously defending Regulus Black right now?

"Come on Ari let's go. I wouldn't have brought you here if I knew it was this kind of party." He spat.

"Oh come on Ev, loosen up a bit." Arielle said in flirty attempt to soothe the distraught boy.

"Whatever Arielle." He said clearly not amuse before storming out of the room.

Everyone stood in silent shock as Andera chose to sit back down on the couch and not go after Rosier.

She sat down with a sigh. She could feel their surprised gazes especially the burning stare of Regulus Black.

"Well then, anyone got a card and some paper money?" Arielle said daring to look up into the grey blue eyes of Regulus Black. She felt her stomach flip at the intensity of his gaze.

"Well shit...good little Gryffindor not so good. I guess you really did go to Amsterdam." Wilkes exclaimed sitting next to the raven-haired girl.

"She was never a good little Gryffindor where you Arielle?." Regulus mocked with a suggestive smirk that ignited Arielle's insides.

She smirked back not breaking eye contact with Black. "No."

"I guess you really are a Malfoy." Wilkes grinned remembering who introduced him to the world of high class drugs...Lucius.

Arielle couldn't help but smile as she dumped out one of the bags on the table and began to cut the lines.

Stumbling out of the room, pulling Wilkes by the tie, Arielle dragged her partner to the dance floor and the two began to dance in a way that forced blushes to the faces of some of the younger students. Regulus stood in the corner with Avery watching the scene unfold with a triumph smirk while desperately trying to suppress the anger that was bubbling in his core.

"Looks like you were right about her Reg, what are you gonna do about Evan?" Avery asked nodding over in Rosier's direction. Regulus nearly laughed when he saw Evan standing in pathetic wallow.

"He knew the rules from the beginning... if he wants to be competitor, he needs to step it up." Regulus said with a lazy sigh.

"And what about you?" Avery asked with a wicked grin.

"I don't even have to try." Regulus smirked setting his drink down and pushing his way past the dancers to Wilkes. He tapped on Wilkes shoulder.

"I'll be right back would you like a drink Arielle?" Wilkes asked his partner. She then pulled her hair out of the ponytail and let it drop in waves around her chest, her black eyeliner was smudged giving her a more enigmatic appearance. She looked completely undone...and much to Regulus's disgust...he had never enjoyed anything more than this look on the girl before him.

"Yes darling that would be wonderful." She cooed with sophistication.

A slow song began to play and the Slytherin offered his hand which she took without hesitation.

He smirked hearing her let out a small gasp as he jerked her closely to him. She snaked her arms around his neck and looked up into his grey blue eyes. He was not prepared for the intensity of her dark blue gaze, and couldn't even hide his expression of uneasiness.

Arielle smiled at the thought of making Regulus uncomfortable with a sexy look. She felt the power consume her with satisfaction.

"Lovely party Black. I'm impressed." She said with a teasing smile.

"Well I'm glad it lived up to your expectations." He replied in a soft tone.

"Exceeded them by far I might add." She said glancing around the room frantically.

"Looking for someone?" He asked raising brow.

"Evan, actually...it's that time in the night where you realize the consequences of your actions. He probably hates me…" She sighed.

"Who cares...there are other Slytherin men...men that won't try to tame you."

Arielle looked up in shock at Regulus's words. She felt unnerved by the way he was looking at her. Her heart began to beat rapidly in her chest as she felt his rough hands lower from her waist to her hips.

"Like you?" She dared to ask. Before either of them could register what she just said they were snapped back into reality by a loud shriek. Arielle couldn't help but let out a laugh when she saw Emma Vanity covered in vomit with an apologetic Wilkes standing beside her in agony.

Regulus grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the dance floor, nearly dragging her over to the scene.

"Take her to the bathroom." Regulus commanded. Arielle rolled her eyes grabbed Emma by the forearm and dragged her to the bathroom. Lucenda followed behind, catching the blonde every time she stumbled backwards. Regulus took Wilkes by the arm and led him up the stairs to the boys dormitories. Throwing Wilkes on the bed, he took off the seventh year's shoes and laughed taking one last glance at his drunken friend before going to find Emma and Arielle.

"Sit still you stupid prat." Arielle barked as she tried to clean the vomit out of Emma's hair. However the blonde thrashed about causing herself to vomit all over her second rate designer shoes. Lucinda looked away in horror and Arielle tried not to gag herself.

That was when the quidditch captain burst out in tears. Arielle sighed in defeat. Drunk bitches.

"Come on Emma, let's get you cleaned up and off to bed." She said in a motherly tone. Emma stopped fighting and let Arielle clean the vomit out of her hair and take off her dress and shoes.

"Please don't take him from me." Emma whimpered looking at the Gryffindor with tearful eyes. Arielle held the blonde's gaze until she heard a deep voice clearing its throat. Regulus walked over to the three girls and helped Emma into his quidditch sweater that he brought down.

"Come on Em, let's get you to bed." Regulus said in a gentle tone that shocked Arielle to her core. Was she actually witnessing kindness from Regulus Black

Her mind briefly remembered the night on the astronomy tower where he had been kind to her as well. She shook her head in attempts to shake the memory.

Emma nuzzled her head into the crook of Regulus's neck as he carried her out of the bathroom and up to her bed.

"Thanks Malfoy...I guess you aren't so bad." Lucienda said before following after her friend.

Arielle stood in silence for a moment before walking out of the bathroom herself, it had been a long night and she wanted nothing more than to find a quiet spot to reflect. She saw a pack of cigarettes on the floor in the common room, picked them up, and pushed her way out of dungeon.

"I knew you'd be here."

Arielle nearly jumped when a dark voice interrupted her thoughts. She turned around to see Regulus Black leaning against the wall of the astronomy tower with an unreadable expression. She faced away from him fiddling with the pack of smokes in her hands.

"Need a light?" He asked, now by her side leaning against the railing. She nodded and lifted a cigarette to her mouth. After he lit her's he pulled out one of his own, taking a long drag before returning his attention to Arielle.

"Do you remember when you jumped between Sirius and I on the pitch?" He asked with uncharacteristic tone.

Arielle nodded.

"Why did you do that?"

Arielle contemplated his question for a moment. The truth is she had no idea why she had done that.

"I don't know." She finally concluded.

Regulus began to tap his foot on the floor unsatisfied with her answer. The gesture made Arielle nervous.

"How's Emma?" Arielle asked surprised at how concerned she found herself for the girl who treated her like absolute shit.

"She'll be fine." Regulus said as if this was daily occurrence.

Arielle nodded, finishing her smoke and throwing it over the balcony.

"Well I should probably go." Arielle said awkwardly turning around to leave. She was stopped when a firm hand gripping her arm.

"Let me walk you." He said in alluring tone,

Arielle swallowed the rising lump of fear in throat.

"I don't think that's a wise idea Regulus."

His gripped tightened on her arm and he seemed to be in deep thought. Arielle dared not interrupt him. Finally he loosened his grip, with a sorrowful expression.

"Okay." He said in disappointment. Arielle felt her stomach drop upon hearing a hint of vulnerability in his usually sarcastic tone. Without thinking she leaned forward and placed a quick chaste kiss on her mortal enemy's lips.

"Goodnight Regulus." She whispered leaving a stunned Slytherin boy on the astronomy tower.

The walk back to the Slytherin dungeon was filled with torturous thoughts. Arielle Malfoy had just kissed him, if you could even call that a kiss. It wasn't the kiss that shocked him, it was the feeling that it ignited in him, a feeling that extended beyond his usual lustful activities. All of his repressed feelings suddenly came rushing back at once and took everything in him not to double over in mental anguish. When he reached the dorm room he saw Evan sitting awake on his bed, apparently his friend had been waiting for him to arrive.

"You don't deserve her." Was the first thing that came out of his mouth. This enraged Regulus but he kept his anger in check, despite everything Evan was still his best friend.

"I don't know what your talking about." Regulus said as he took off his shoes, and stripped down to his underwear.

"Oh fuck off Reg. I know this is just game to you, but I care about Arielle. Can you honestly say the same?" Evan said raising his voice causing some of the other boys to stir in their sleep.

"I always cared." Regulus said in biting tone before blowing out the candle beside his bed.
