Been a bit but I've been... distracted. Here's one reason why.

Dick-17 Jason-14 Tim-10

Not So Final Fantasy

"And I thought Dad was obsessive."

"No kidding." Both the teenaged Wayne boys looked into the game room currently being dominated by one ten year old Tim Drake-Wayne. His eyes were glued to the TV screen, following animated characters as he controlled them to play out a story. This had to be the fourth version of that game, and he'd already beaten the other three. And all within the past month.

"We really shouldn't have given him those games," Dick whined, missing the cute little boy who'd follow him everywhere. "Now he won't do anything else!"

"I think he finally found his calling," Jason teased, wishing the guy would die already so he could play one of his games he got for his birthday. If Alfred wasn't so strict about entertainment, their dad would have gotten them every system they wanted for their individual rooms. Unfortunately they only had one of each system, and they had no choice but to share. There were multiple handhelds of course, but the big platform systems were for the entire crew. "Geek extraordinaire."

"I can hear you."

Both his brothers looked at the tyke a bit sarcastically as they answered him. "We know."

"I'm almost to a save point and I'll quit for the day." Tim glare at the screen, working on the timing of the traps in this particular dungeon. He was hoping to get to the next one before quitting, but his audience was getting annoying.

"What day? You only stopped for dinner." Dick nodded along, pouting still that summer was coming to a close and little Timmy chose to be stuck inside instead of playing with them in real life for so long. Jason grumbled as he folded his arms. "And that was only because Alfred would have unplugged the whole thing if you didn't."

"Seriously I'm almost done." A smirk crossed the kid's face as he finally passed the puzzle he was on. Garath was just two steps away from getting the enchanted blade of Anubis so he could take down the evil king Set. Anubis and Set... Now where did he hear those names before? "Just got to get the sword, hit a save point, and I can get the boss tomorrow."

His brothers rolled their eyes. "Sure you are."

"C'mon Ace." Their new dog was just trotting by, doing rounds around the house like he did every night since moving in. Guy really was a guard dog. "Let's go to bed. You can sleep with me since Timmy won't be any time soon."

"Yeah, sure, whatever," was all they got from their baby brother's lips as the eldest vanished from sight with the still healing dog. He ignored Dick's despairing sigh and kept going with the game he was on. Jason just groaned, jutting his jaw from side to side in annoyance. Something had to be done.

Tim tore through the house, highly enraged and panicked, a strange combination for the guy. He finally found Jason and Dick in the gym, working on some endurance exercises before going their separate ways for some summer fun.

"Where is it?!" he screamed in a panic. His heart and breathing were going much faster than he ever wanted them too, even during his training exercises. He shook since he discovered it was missing. How could it be missing?! "Where did you take it?!"

The sweaty teens just looked at him, completely confused. "Where's what?"

"Where's my memory card!"

The two still looked at him blankly, neither comprehending what he just said, or why he was in such a frenzy over it. After a minute, they figured it out. "Oh! That card you use for all your RPG games!"

"The one you guard with your life."

"The thing that you can't play your games without."

"That thing you save everything to."

"That memory card?"

"YES THAT MEMORY CARD!" Why oh why was he stuck with these two as brothers?! Locke or Cecil would have been so much better! "WHERE IS IT!?"

"No idea."

The teenagers shook their heads, shrugging. Despair tried to creep into Tim's chest, but he forced it out through shouting. "IT HAD TO BE ONE OF YOU TWO! YOU WERE THE LAST ONES WHO-"

"I went straight to bed last night, remember?" Dick tried his best to be understanding. Was this what video game addicts were like? "Ace was with me the whole time."

"You took it with you to bed last night," Jason reminded him, smirking slightly. "You didn't want me erasing anything when I played my games, even though most of yours you already beat. The question really is, where did you put it last night?"

"I..." Tim wracked his brain, trying to figure out exactly what happened to his beloved game card. Where was it? Where did he... "It wasn't on my desk this morning! One of you snuck in and-"

"Tim, it wasn't us." Dick tried to be the sensible, responsible one this time, knowing the kid was seriously freaking out. When did he become stupid about things? "You're freaking out over a small thing. Losing a memory card is not the end of the world."

"YES IT IS!" The kid could not think straight at that moment. He needed to find his memory card and finish his game! If he didn't, he'd explode. "I need to find it! I need to-"

"How about you ask Alfred if he's seen it." Dick's suggestion was so simple, it had to work. "I mean, he cleans everything so maybe he's seen it."

Tim stopped and thought about it for a moment, gears turning in his head. Coming to some sort of conclusion, he nodded. "If you see it, give it back. I really need to finish that game!"

"Or else you'll die," Jason joked. Dick rolled his eyes exasperated as the two still duked it out.

"Probably." Not giving any goodbyes, the boy ran out of the gym to track down Alfred. The teens looked at each other, then shrugged, going back to their training.

"Think Dad or Alfred took it last night to help him kick the habit?"

"It's likely," Dick admitted, getting back over to his rings. "Timmy's been very obsessed with those games. I think he's even lost weight. He hasn't been sleeping or eating as much as he should. And he's been skipping training."

"Yep," Jason concluded, picking up a thirty pound weight. "They took it. Timbo's in for a real wakeup call."

"Bout time too."

"No kidding." Sneaking a grin to the older boy, he decided to press the matter a bit. "Hey, after this, wanna play Wii bowling?"

"Why don't we just get out that old bowling set?" Dick leapt onto the rings and went back to his usual routine, enjoying every second of it. "Dami would love it and it's just been gathering dust lately."

"Good point."

A/N: Honestly did not know how to end it, but this does okay. Guess what I've been playing! I love RPGs, especially the older ones. I've been playing Tales of Symphonia, mostly because the story got me reeled in and my roommate is on spring break and has control of the TV. Hey, i rule it most of the day time anyway so I decided to finally get back to that game. I'm halfway through, and my second disc is scratched beyond repair. Buying a new copy of the second disc right now so I will finish it! Great game by the way.

ANywho, my obsessive nature with games and other things every now and again is similar to Tim's. Since he loves computers and fantasy novels, I decided to make him an avid gamer. Dick and Jason are more hands on then technical so they don't really agree with this. Alfred in the end doesn't either and confiscated the memory card to control how much TIm plays. Very effective. Poor guy doesn't stand a chance! WHen I play too long, I get a bit nuts about the game I'm playing and absolutely ignore everything else. Including homework, health, and food. If Tim continues this way, he's gonna be in big trouble. Cue intervention!

Okay I'm nutso tired. laters. back to the plot next time, I'm sure.
