Nap Time

It was just a lazy summer afternoon, one like many others in their lives. It was one of those where nothing was on TV, no one was interested in playing any games, it was too sticky outside to run around, and those who were doing something were doing their own thing. Some people would watch reruns until their eyes couldn't take it anymore. Others would read a book they were meaning to for a long time. One or two might even get around to their chores, or were still diligently doing their every day jobs. But these afternoons seemed to take a life of their own over people in certain states of their lives, and it got them to do strange things.

Alfred couldn't help but smile softly at the image before him. It was not every day such harmony occurred in his line of sight. Boys had a tendency to fight each other, especially if they felt their place in life was threatened by another. But for once, these two weren't fighting.

Course they would only fight childishly to begin with, and the elder never let it get too far. He was growing into the role of older brother quite nicely. He may even be starting to enjoy it.

The butler had entered the room to prepare it for naptime before locating the youngest master of the house, only to find he was already there, with company. Fast asleep on the sunlit carpet, young Damian rested soundly next to Timothy. Timmy's favorite stuffed dog was being used as a pillow by both of them, and it didn't appear that either would be waking any time soon.

Chuckling softly, Alfred picked a light blanket out of a stack and laid it across their bodies to ward off a chill and any restless dreams. He left only for a few minutes to get a camera, and was glad to see neither woke up or moved. Smiling, he took a picture to add it to his collection.

Quietly he left the room and shut the door so they could wake in their own time. Hopefully Young Master Timothy would wake first and leave on his own power in silence. He dared not think of how Young Master Damian would respond to seeing him first thing after a nap. Alfred prayed they would continue to build a bond stronger than trusting each other in their sleep. They were just too cute together!

A/N: Yeah the pict is titled Nap Time! by bluepepo. Check it out on deviantart. I threw in Mystery Dog/Fenrir for the pillow and made the setting, but it was just so cute! It reminded me of the only nap I can remember taking as a kid, and how I used to find kids napping in the sun when I was babysitting. So that's waht happened. After all the seriousness I've been doing in DNB I thought it was about time for somehting fun anyway.

If I find any other pictures that make me think of a good story, I'll talk about them. In teh mean time, I'm gonna get back to work on all my many many stories. XP Laters.
