"She's poisoned with that love potion, for sure." Ginny told Harry as they walked back to the Burrow.
"Poisoned doesn't even begin to describe it." Harry shuddered.
"Did you see the way she started kissing him? She used her entire face and I didn't know her tongue was that long!" Ginny cried.
"Unfortunately, I saw that." Harry said.
"I wish I can rip his insides out and slap the love potion out of her." Fred sneered.
"What are we supposed to do now?" Astoria asked.
"What are we supposed to do now?" Ginny asked.
"I think we should tell Hermione to see if she can conjure up an anti-love potion up. There's no way for Cormac to let Jade out of his sight for even a second. I don't know how long they last for but he must be making her consume the potion daily or something, somehow." Harry said.
"So how do we get Cormac to stop Jade from having the potion? Kidnap her?" Ginny asked.
"That sounds like a good idea to me." Harry said.
"Gin, I really think Draco should know about this." Astoria said.
"I know Ass but we don't want him to do anything rash like kill McLaggen or something. If he finds out that Cormac's been giving her love potions, who knows what he'll do to him." Ginny told Harry.
"Mate, that's mental! I wish I was there to see that happen." Ron said, seeing Harry shake his head.
"You definitely don't want to see that, I promise. I can't even look at pancakes the same way again." Harry said.
"I would advise you not to kidnap her. She might end up killing all of us. We have to stop this at the source. Cormac isn't clever enough to make the potion on his own. It's extremely difficult, even for me to execute, so I doubt he'll go through the time and effort of making a love potion every week to keep Jade around for the rest of his life." Hermione said.
"What do you suppose we do? Buy out all the love potions in the shop? Isn't it illegal?" Ron asked.
"It should be but it isn't." Hermione said.
"Even if we do buy out all the love potions, Cormac could have someone else to make it for him. We wouldn't be able to buy out all the…glitter and love leaves?" Harry asked, receiving a pursed look from Hermione.
"Ashwinder egg, rose thorns, peppermint and moonstone to be precise. Fortunately for everyone here, there is an antidote for the love potion." She said.
"Why didn't you just say it before?" Ron asked.
"Because if Cormac continues to keep spiking her drinks with Amortentia, the antidote will never work. Not to mention the side effects it can cause on her body." Hermione said. Ginny got up and started wearing her cloak.
"Where are you going?" Harry asked.
"To tell Malfoy everything." Ginny said.
"We already talked about this. He'll just be the mindless git that he is and ruin the entire plan." Harry said.
"We don't have a plan yet and you'd want to know if this happened to me, no matter how much you would want to kill Cormac." Ginny said, leaving.
Draco left Dervish and Banges with his broom. The entire day, all Draco could think about was Jade and it created a hot pit in the center of his stomach, burning continuously. Out of anyone in the world, she decided that she would settle down with McLaggen once and for all. Her face when he saw her replayed in his head over and over again.
"Malfoy!" someone called.
Draco turned around to see Ginny running towards him with Harry behind her.
"Just the person I wanted to see!" Ginny breathed.
"How wonderful for me." Draco said, going to leave.
"We have to talk." Ginny said, walking in front of him to meet his eyes.
"About what?" he asked, suddenly interested in the packaging of his broom. Ginny grabbed his arm.
"Jade." She said.
"I'm not interested." Draco said, shaking her hand off.
"Malfoy, just listen for a second." Harry started but Draco whipped around, sneering at him.
"Listen to what? I'm not interested in that bimbo and neither am I interested in her pet." He said.
"Even if that pet is giving her a love potion?" Ginny asked.
"What?" Draco asked, caught off guard.
"McLaggen's been giving Jade love potions." Ginny said.
"How do you know? Have you seen this love potion?" Draco asked. Ginny looked at Harry.
"Er, no but it's so obvious that he is." Ginny said. Draco smirked.
"Honestly Potter, in an alternate universe, I'd think your wife was cute." Draco said.
"Going from one best friend to another? I think you've had your fill." Harry said.
"Snap out of it you two. If you have a better explanation, I'd love to hear it." Ginny told Draco.
"Oh I have an explanation. She's nothing but a confused bimbo with nothing better to do." Draco said. Harry snorted and shook his head.
"That's the best you could come up with? It's like you're some pathetic little boy that got snubbed by a little girl." Harry said. Draco dropped his broom and shoved Harry who stumbled backwards, almost falling to the ground.
"Stop it!" Ginny shouted, trying to come in between them.
"How come you didn't shove McLaggen when you saw him sleeping with her?" Harry asked from behind Ginny.
"It's none of your fucking business! Tell your husband to stop putting his nose into places where it shouldn't be!" Draco spat. People started crowding around them, to witness a potential fight.
"Behave yourselves, the both of you! We have to go somewhere else." Ginny said.
"I'm going home. The more you try to make someone happy, the more miserable and disappointments you get." Draco said, picking up his broom.
"You're talking about Jade, right? She'll be really happy to know that you gave up on her when she would have wanted you to do something about it." Harry said.
"Would you just…sssh! Go in that corner there!" Ginny told Harry. She took Draco by the elbow and walked him away from Harry. "She's in trouble. Cormac's been giving her a love potion. I don't know how long this has been going on but she's nothing like herself when I saw her yesterday." Ginny said. She poked his shoulder with two fingers. "While everyone was planning about how to come up with a plan to save Jade, I vouched for you." Ginny said.
"What do you want from me? A taffy?" Draco asked. Ginny let out an angry sigh.
"I thought you would want to know." Ginny said.
"How do we know for sure that she just likes him?" Draco asked.
"Are you shitting me? Just because she likes you, doesn't mean that she'll start falling in love with the fungus growing in the back of Snape's cupboard." Ginny said, walking off. Draco looked thoughtful.
"It's nice to be compared to that." He said.
"Let's have it then." Ginny said, motioning Harry to come towards her.
"Have what?" Harry asked.
"A truce. Shake hands, the both of you." Ginny said.
"That's not necessary." Draco and Harry replied.
"Both peas in a pod. Shake. The more you wait, the more Jade's out there somewhere, shagging whatever's left of McLaggen's brains out and you…I know how to deal with you." Ginny told both Draco and Harry respectively.
The two men shook hands with each other, calling a truce.
"So what's the brilliant plan?" Draco asked.
Harry, Ginny, Hermione, Ron and Draco met inside The Three Broomsticks, sipping their butterbeers and firewhiskeys.
"We haven't really set up a plan. We're still trying to figure out how to administer the anti-love potion to Jade." Harry explained. Draco scratched his head.
"We don't know how much he's giving her. It can cause an imbalance and her body may react badly." Draco said.
"Isn't that what we want? Have her react badly towards him?" Ron asked.
"No Ron, he means that there can be physical or chemical complications. Everyone reacts to these potions differently but we're dealing with two potions counteracting. It's a little more complicated than it looks." Hermione said, seeing Ron nod.
"Not to mention very risky. How are we going to be able to separate them?" Ginny asked.
Everyone looked confused and in deep thought.
"He's not going to want anyone near her without him being around. If he starts noticing her coming around to her old self, who knows what he can do?" Draco asked.
"We knock the bastard's teeth out and make him bloody unconscious." Ron said, hitting his fist into his palm.
"And when Jade has enough love potion in her to rip your eyes out, that's going to be just as fun, wont it?" Ginny asked.
"Well if you've got such a brilliant plan, why don't you say something?" Ron asked.
Draco looked at the entrance to The Three Broomsticks. Cormac had seen him and he smirked to himself, pulling Jade along who was wearing a white hat and a light pink cloak. Madame Rosmerta sat them down and Cormac helped take off Jade's cloak. She was wearing a tight fitted nude bandage dress that exposed her cleavage with a pair of high heel nude shoes. She took off her hat, emitting an audible sound from everyone, especially Hermione.
"Holy shit." Hermione said, seeing Jade's platinum blonde hair in a layered bob.
Cormac had gotten her to look an entirely different person. Her long dark hair was gone and she was sitting in front of them, getting oogled by all the men at Three Broomsticks. Ginny felt hot tears rise quickly, seeing her friend completely helpless in front of her. Cormac was controlling her in every single way but Ginny didn't realize how bad things would get out of hand. She stood up, going to kill Cormac for all she cared but Draco was in front of Cormac, swinging hard into his face. Jade screamed, getting up and trying to hit Draco who turned and grabbed her arms.
"Jade, listen to me-" he said.
Jade kneed him as hard as she could and he doubled over in pain. She grabbed a large empty glass mug and backhanded it, breaking it against Draco's face. There were screams and shouts as Draco fell backwards, unconscious onto a table. Harry and Ron flew towards Draco, dragging him away from Jade before she decided to drive her spiky heel into his eye.
"Jade look. This isn't you." Ginny started to say, her voice shaky. Jade flipped around, her eyes wide and features psychotic. Hermione pulled Ginny back, seeing Jade snarl at her.
"You all want to hurt me. Cormac was right. You all are nothing but people that ruin lives." Jade said.
"You don't do this. You don't look like this. You don't even act like this." Ginny said.
"This is who I am. This is who Cormac loves and I love Cormac. No one loves me like Cormac." Jade screamed.
"Let it go. Draco's injured, we can't do this right now." Hermione warned.
Ginny hesitated before taking a step back, allowing Jade to go back to Cormac.
"This was a bloody disaster." Draco said with a bloody gauze still stuck between his teeth and cheek. His entire head had been bandaged but his right eyelid was already swollen. He sat back, still feeling dizzy from the pain relieving draught that had gotten him exhausted.
"It sure was. I think we have to really think for a few days about what we have to do." Hermione said.
"Yeah, you should rest. I don't think I've ever seen anything like that in my life. I'm not trying to undermine you in any way but the way she attacked you really could have been any one of us." Harry said.
"Which is why we have to stay vigilant." Hermione said. Draco chuckled. Everyone looked at him, seeing him try to smile but his face made it painful for him.
"When she knocked that glass in me, I had a strange idea." Draco said.
"Maybe you should relax and let the grownups take care of it." Ron suggested.
"Ronald!" Hermione said.
"Arse." Ginny said. She turned back around to Malfoy. "So what about this strange idea?" she asked.
