The moon spilled its warmth into the room. The backs of each book bending back from the spiral to reveal in such an enchanting light. The small harp played distantly, the strings gently plucked to form a slow, calming tune.
Such a goddess belonged in such enchanting lighting. Her locks washed onto the snowy blue flowing gown, as water bends down a waterfall her hair laid. A soft purple pushed itself onto the milky cheeks. Her presence beckoned the moon's rays to shine the scatters of gold and silver decorated on her form.
She couldn't help but feel bashful being studied by the stranger. As swift as a blade she drew herself up from the extraneous sheets of silk. Eira shifted only, staring not so subtly at the bottoms of her feet.
But the woman made no note or perhaps didn't mind as she sauntered slowly towards her. Trapped in the enchantress's call, she gathered herself hoping the small tingle of rose would leave her face as her head rose to see hers.
The room felt empty, lost like a memory long forgotten but the nudge of her newest friend dragged her back to the present.
"You're the little mortal I've been hearing down the hall." She drew, swatting the dust from her gown.
"Madam, this is Eira. I assume then you've heard about our findings?" So similar to an elf, she reasoned. Not considering the looks but also the wisdom of one of ages yet the curiousness of a youth.
The woman chuckled, "I believe everyone in this area has known my prince," Her eyes held such fondness and joy as she turned to her, "don't worry yourself young one, it was entertaining seeing the mighty Helblindi fumble from some noise."
She and Talen would most definitely get along. If she would ever see them again, her thought reminded her back to the point of the interaction.
She really tried, truly. But in these times she wished her 'running mouth', as it was so often referred to, would speak faster to avoid moments like these. As the thought popped inside her mind, she looked up as fast as she could, saying, "M'lady if I can comment, I..need my…"
But as confident as she tried to be, she realized she had interjected in their conversation and had quite literally sputtered like a fool. More accurately, like a certain brother trying to woo the ladies without her coaching.
"Yes, yes Eira I understand your desire to return home. But if I may assist you with your words, I need to know just exactly where you come from. And for that we must speak."
In her haze of embarrassment, she failed to notice her eyebrow raising, awaiting for a response. But to her rescue, she only chuckled again softly. Her eyes looked so darkly blue.
"It's alright, after I conclude some of my negotiations with Byleistr I'll be here to talk with you." Glancing away from the window, she tiredly picked up a bowl of berries and placed them in front of her.
"I know you may be very…upset and confused. Being at that I know you must be tired," Before Helblindi could offer anything though she teasingly glanced at Helblindi and Byleistr, "From one visitor to another, you're free to sleep in my bed." And at that the two princes looked at each other bewildered by the exchange. Then turned to Eira expectantly of some comment or remark.
Eira, though, finally laid the bowl onto the table and sped up to follow the mysterious woman.
"Look miss, I'm already quite lost already as you know but this is your bed."
The enigma stopped in her tracks only turning over her shoulder warmly.
"Eira, you deserve some rest and time to reflect. I won't force you but I would rather see you happy." At that they longingly stared at each other, but as she turned to leave she stopped again in a revelation.
"I'm quite sorry m'lady, I have yet to give you anything to call me by." The water spilled over the waterfall, and beautiful the view was. Through the tazels of silver hair, she softly whispered, "I am Hayla, healer of Svartalfheim." And as soon as she came, she left. Leaving Eira staring into the hallway, and in her opinion a bumbling fool.
But try as she might, both brothers stood behind her staring away from the 'platonic' scene. The two tried their best to stay in as a neutral yet Byleistr held a small smirk.
"So…I can see Hayla and you getting along." Helblindi teased, no matter how tall she paled in comparison to such Jotuns, they both got startled by her abruptness of anger.
"You comment about one more thing…" she warned, "I will hit you." While her tone and deviant attitude compared to other women was ambiguous, hissing at a bear didn't seem so intimidating as it is amusing.
Grey always seemed like a lovely color, maybe it wasn't so horrible to stay.
