The episode begins inside the Loud House on the afternoon of April 13, 1986 with Lori Loud reading a history book in the living room. But then, she was interrupted by Lincoln who was playing on his portable handheld videogame. The game was fighting zombies and in 8-bit style like the NES.
"Take that, zombie! Feel my wrath, you evil jerk!" Lincoln said as he was mashing buttons on his handheld videogame, killing zombies as the player's character shoots the zombies, "HOO-HAH!"
"Lincoln must be playing that handheld videogame that I bought him yesterday with some of my savings. Must be so cool to play a handheld videogame. Maybe I can ask if I can have a turn.
Meanwhile, Lincoln continues to play on his handheld videogame. He goes up the stairs and plays some more in the hallway where he then enters his mother's room when suddenly...
"Lincoln!" Leni yells at Lincoln as he takes the goggles off and sees Leni making a snarling face at him and screams, "There is a rule in this house that I need you to follow: stay out of my bedroom! If I catch you in here again, I will turn you into a freaking human pretzel!" Back on the phone, "No, not you, Chas. One sec, okay?"
Upon that, Leni kicks Lincoln out and Lori is shocked upon this. Lincoln grabs his handheld and continues playing on it and continues to shoot the zombies away until he enters into the bathroom.
"Zombies don't need to see this," Lincoln said as he sets the handheld game on the sink and notices Lori is in here reading a comic book and Lori notices that Lincoln is close to her again.
"Oh, hi Lincoln. What are you doing right now?" Lori asked Lincoln.
"Just playing a cool handheld game, it's 8-bit like the NES and it is super awesome!" Lincoln explained.
"Ha ha ha. I'm very glad you like it, boy. I just wanted your fun to keep going on while you're studying for those end-of-course exams as school this Friday and Wednesday next week," Lori replied but their conversation was interrupted when they heard a knock at the door, "Sorry, this bathroom is on lockdown. Try again later," Lori said before the knocking then turns into a pounding.
"YOU BETTER OPEN UP IN THERE, YOU CONDESCENDING JERKS!" Leni shouted.
"I can't believe some..." they answer the door to see Leni is there.
"Chas, you'll never guess what Dana said to me today," Leni said on the phone.
"That you don't respect a man's privacy, Leni?" Lori asked Leni.
But Leni continues to ignore them and pushes them out of the bathroom and continues talking on the phone.
"No, silly! Not even. She was all like..." Leni said on the phone as Lori and Lincoln go to their room but Lincoln suddenly realizes something.
"Oh no!" Lincoln screamed in fear.
"What is it, Lincoln?" Lori asked.
"My handheld console!" Lincoln screamed in fear as he rushes to the bathroom, only to be stopped by Lola and Lana who were dressed in some kind of authority attire.
"No running in the hallway!" Lana shouted.
"Huh? What are you talking about?" Lincoln asked suspiciously.
"Lana, is this maggot giving you lip?" Lola asked as she and Lana write Lincoln up.
"We're the new hall monitors at school, so we're practicing at home," Lana demanded as they give Lincoln a ticket.
"If we catch you speeding again, you're going downtown! We already locked up Luan for telling bad jokes," Lola explained as it reveals Luan in a cardboard jail cell.
"Hey! Did you hear the one about the thief who stole a calendar? He got twelve months," Luan replied.
"That's five more minutes, you little dirt bag!" Lola shouted.
"Okay, okay. I'll walk within the speed limit. I swear," Lincoln said in fear.
"NO SWEARING!" Lana shouted as they leave for their room/office.
Lincoln goes to the bathroom to find that his videogame is now totaled and smashed.
"Someone stepped on my videogame! NOOOOOO!" Upon Lincoln's scream, Lori ran towards him and was shocked.
"Lincoln, what happened?" Lori asked in fear.
"You are not going to believe this, Mom!" Lincoln said in fear before he showed her the broken videogame. Since Leni kicked Lincoln out when he left them in there, Lori got really angry and had no other choice but to automatically blames Leni and sees that she left in the family van
"LENI! YOU LITTLE DIRT BAG! I'M GONNA HAVE A WORD WITH YOU!" Lori shouted angrily in sing-song heavy-metal style.
Later, Lori and Lincoln were in their room with Lily as they were telling Clyde the whole story.
"One minute Lincoln was shooting the undead on his handheld game, and the next..." Lori said as she groans, "IT'S ALL LENI'S FAULT!
"I can't believe it!" Clyde said holding the obliterated game.
"I know! She didn't even say sorry!" Lincoln agreed.
"Yeah! She's not even using her manners at all! What the hell do you think she's drinking? I wouldn't be surprised if she drank beer last night!" Lori said suspiciously.
"No. I can't believe these were touched by Leni's beautiful tootsies..." Clyde said but he was immediately snapped out of it when he heard a knock on Lincoln's door.
"Come in," Lincoln said despondently but coming in was the matriarch, Rita Loud, "Oh, hey, mother. What are you doing here?"
"I couldn't help but notice early today that you were playing on your handheld videogame console. And, I was hoping your mother Lori could have a turn on there. But maybe with a game that doesn't have zombies in it?" Rita asked them.
"We wish we could, Mom, but we can't," Lori said despondently.
"Why not, Lori?" Rita asked.
"Leni broke it!" Lori said as she shows Rita the broken videogame. Rita becomes shocked by seeing it all smashed into pieces.
"Oh dear god! Why would she do that?" Rita asked in fear.
"I'll tell you why, Momma! All my sister Leni cares about aside from aerobic dancing workouts is talking on her stupid cell phone with her boyfriend Chas!" Lincoln shouted at his biological mother Rita.
"Oh, dear. Maybe I should probably give her a punishment if it ever happens again! Got it, kids?" Rita asked.
"Yes, Mom." Lori responded.
"Got it, mother," Lincoln responded.
"Yeah," Lily responded.
"Okay, thank you for letting me know," Rita replied as she heads outside the room and closes the door behind her.
"Well, Lincoln. It looks like we are going to give her a call she'll never forget..." Lori said to Lincoln.
"What are you gonna say?" Clyde read as Lincoln look in their drawer and pulls out a sheet of paper and shows it to Clyde and Lori.
"Why 'blank' is the worst sister ever?" Clyde read.
"I knew this would come in handy someday. I just didn't know which sister of yours would be getting it, Mom," Lincoln explained evilly.
"And of course, Luna isn't the only sister that isn't the worst, but you, Leni Loud, have made our decision very easy," Lori said as she laughs and they dial Leni's number on Lori's cell phone. While Luna is jamming and riffs to the last note of Leni's ringtone, "Agh. Leni must be charging her phone. No worries. I'll just leave it on her voicemail."
"Hey, this is Leni. You know what to do," the voicemail replied before it beeps.
"Hey, Leni. It's your dear sister, Lori and her Lincoln speaking. There's something we've been meaning to tell you," Lori then goes into a blindingly raging rant about Leni by raising her voice, "And it is that you are... A BIG FOUL-MOUTHED, RELENTLESS, SADISTIC AND UNNATURAL PIECE OF SHIT THAT JUST CHATS WITH YOUR GODDAMN FRIENDS ALL DAY WHEN YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE WATCHING OVER YOUR GODDAMNED MOTHERF*bleep*KING SISTERS! AND I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU BROKE ONE OF LINCOLN'S BELONGINGS! I BOUGHT IT FOR HIM A FEW DAYS AGO AND YOU END UP BREAKING IT! HOW COULD YOU DO SOMETHING THIS CRUEL AND CARELESS! THIS IS ALL YOUR GODDAMN FAULT! WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING, LENI?! YOU REALLY NEED TO LEARN TO USE YOUR GODDAMN STUPID BITCHING ASS MANNERS AND YOU NEED TO LEARN TO BE NICE TO OTHER PEOPLE WHEN YOU'RE LEFT IN CHARGE!" All the while Clyde could watch in shock as Leni gets roasted, "AND THAT IS WHY YOU ARE THE WORST SISTER EVER, LENI LYDIA LOUD! I REALLY HOPE YOUR PARENTS PUNISH YOU FOR THIS! CASE CLOSED! PERIOD!" Lori and Lincoln both shouted in unison as she hangs up, "What do you think, Clyde?"
Clyde faints, but then Leni entered Lori and Lincoln's room.
"Hey, bro. I just wanna say I'm so sorry I stepped on your stupid toy. So I went out and bought you a stupid new one," Leni said unsympathetically as she hands Lincoln a new handheld game, "Also, I'm very impressed you didn't freak out over this. Very mature."
"Yep. That's him. Mr. Mature," Lori said nervously as she could only shake her head at his mistake.
Later...
"What have we done, I called Leni a foul-mouthed piece of shit when she's actually a cute sister like you, Lincoln," Lori said in fear.
"What are we gonna do?! You're right! Leni clearly hasn't listened to the voicemail yet, or we'd be dead! We got to delete the message!" Lincoln explained as Clyde falls over.
Lori, Lincoln and Clyde were now peaking out the door. Lola were tracking droppings that lead from Lynn and Lucy's room to Luan and Luna's. Security in Leni's room was very tight. So Lincoln had to find another way in.
"Perfect! Leni doesn't have her cell phone which means it's still in there charging. Our mission is to infiltrate her room and delete the message before she gets back," Lincoln explained.
"But guys, Leni's room is off limits," Clyde explained.
"We know. That's why we need you to be a lookout for her," Lori said to Clyde.
"That's easy. I'm always on the lookout for Leni," Clyde explained.
"Then let's do this!" Lincoln replied.
"Wait! What can I do?" Lori asked as Lincoln thought about it, then he looked outside to see the twins still patrolling the hallway.
"I know poop when I see it, and that's definitely some poop," Lana replied.
"Got it! You can distract Lola and Lana. Make sure they don't see me. Can you handle that, Mom?" Lincoln asked.
"I'll try," Lori said bravely.
"Great!" Lincoln said as he puts on a black snow hat, "It's go time!"
Lincoln sneaks by while the twins check the sound he made only to see he's nowhere. Then Lori came in to act as the distraction.
"You got a hall pass, young lady?" Lola said as she sees Lincoln hiding up on the top of the doorway.
"Wait! Lola! I think I see Geo making a run for it," Lori shouted as she points the other way and while the twins were looking, she pulls a hamster treat out of her pocket and tosses it behind her, making Geo the Hamster go after it.
"Hey, fur ball! No speeding!" The twins shouted as they give chase to Geo, "Hey! What did we just say? Get back here!"
Lori then gives Lincoln an "OK" signal, then he moves his way to the vents.
"I'm in," Lincoln replied.
"Great. Proceed two clicks north, hook a left, and you should be right over the target," Clyde explained with a schematic of the house.
"Got it," Lori replied as she and Lincoln head down that pathway, "We've got eyes on the package," Lori replied as they successfully break into Leni's room and find the phone still charging.
But Leni was coming and he had to act fast. That's when Clyde comes in to act as a distraction for her. He immediately rushed to the stairway. Then draws a mustache on his upper lip with a marker and tears off his shirt, revealing a white tux underneath it and acts so suave as Leni approaches, sweeping her off her feet.
"Hey, Leni, you take these stairs often?" Clyde asks before Leni throws her arms around him and swoons.
"I will now...Clyde..." Leni said as she winks to Clyde.
Later Lori then took Leni's phone, then she immediately deletes the scathing message they left. The plan went perfectly, at least in this dramatization.
"And that's how we're gonna do it!" Lori explained.
"Love it! Especially the part where I get to talk to Leni," Clyde said as he starts applying perfume onto him.
"What kind of perfume is that?" Lori coughed.
"It's my nana's," Clyde explained.
"Here are the blueprints for the vents," Lincoln said as he hands Clyde a drawing of them with some ketchup all over it.
"Are these food stains?" Clyde asked.
"Mom and I eat chicken sandwiches while we floor-plan," Lincoln explained.
"Don't ask why," Lori whispered to Clyde before they all hear a door opening, "Leni's coming!
"Okay, let's do this," Lincoln said.
"Here we go!" Lori said eagerly as Clyde hops over to the position from the dramatization.
"I'M IN POSITION!" Clyde said as the loud feedback on the other end knocks Lincoln back.
"Roger that," Lincoln screamed as they see Lola writing Lily up for not wearing her diaper.
"No, I can't let you off with a warning!" Lola shouted.
"Warning! Warning!" Lily said as she laughs and Lori and Lincoln continue to sneak their way to Leni's room, but Cliff gets on his hat and starts padding it. He tries to shoo him off only for the cat's tail to hit his nose and stifles a sneeze with what he thought was a tissue.
"Next time, remember. This is a mandatory diaper zone!" Lola shouted but Lincoln was disgusted at the fact they used Lily's diaper as a tissue and throws up. It ends up getting the twin guards attention. Then Lori came in to act as a distraction.
"And where do you think your going, Lori?" Lana asked Lori.
Lori sees Lincoln slipping on top of the doorway, "Well, ummmmm... uhhhh..."
She then sees her daughter Lily crawling away without wearing a diaper, "LANA, LOLA, MY DAUGHTER'S MAKING A CRAWL FOR IT!" Lori shouted as Lana chases after her.
"You just got lucky!" Lola replied as she runs off with Lana.
Meanwhile, Lincoln then makes his into the vents and Lori follows behind him proceeding with the plan. But ran into one unexpected detail.
"Hey Lincoln," Lucy greeted him as she was next to him smiling.
"Lucy! What are you doing in here?" Lincoln asked him.
"Can't you see we're trying to delete the unsatisfactory message?" Lori asked them.
"I come here to think. I actually just wrote a new poem called "Ventilate," Lucy read, "Inside the wall, I choose to be alone, If I ever get stuck, Please listen for my moan.
"Riiiiight," Lori and Lincoln said nervously as they chuckle.
"Clyde, get us to Leni's room, now," Lori said as they creep away from Lucy.
"Go three clicks, and a right. Or was it three rights and a click? Wait. What's a click?" Clyde asked before Lori smacks her forehead.
"Never mind. I think I'm there," Lincoln said crawling around before suddenly, he falls through the vent hatch and slips but Lucy and Lori catch him before he hits the bathroom floor.
"It's okay, Lincoln! We got you!" Lori replied to Lincoln.
"Phew. Thanks, Luce. Thanks, Mommy," Lincoln said before his radio fell into the toilet.
"Lincoln! Everything okay?" Clyde asked as Lincoln swings and plunges the radio out.
"Yeah, Clyde, Lincoln groaned at the soggy texture his radio has been contaminated with, "Everything's perfect."
"Are you sure you don't want any of my assistance?" Lori asked nervously.
"No need, Mom. I'll take it from here," Lincoln replied.
"Okay! Good luck then!" Lori responded positively.
Later, they continue to excavate the vents until they reached Leni's room.
"Package? What about Leni's phone?" Clyde asked before Lincoln facepalms and enters Leni's room via a red rope. However, it seems to be coming undone.
"Clyde, what the hell kind of rope is this?" Lincoln asked.
"Cherry licorice rope," Clyde explained.
"What?! Why would you use licorice, Clyde?!" Lori asked sternly to Clyde.
"It was the only rope I could find," Clyde said to Lori.
The rope then breaks and Lincoln falls attracting Leni's attention and then came up the stairs and Clyde immediately notices and speaks, "Lincoln! Leni's coming! Don't worry, I'll stall her." he draws a fake mustache and takes off his shirt then approaches Leni, only to be stunned by the sight of her and then faints.
"Hmmph, So much for a friendly son of a bitch," Leni said bitterly as she heads to her room as Lincoln is just about to delete the message when he hears Leni just about to come in. She enters and looks around with an displeased look on her face. Lincoln hides under her bed hoping she would never find her. Leni kicked off her shoes under her bed and hits Lincoln, he tries not to make a sound. Leni then suspiciously checks under her bed to see that her shoes were there, "So, this is where all my shoes are."
Lincoln had escaped her line of sight and tries reaching for the phone, but Walt the Canary perches right onto it and bites Lincoln's finger, making him hold in his yelp of pain. Leni's phone finishes charging.
"Finally," Leni said as she takes the phone, "Ooh! New messages! I'm so loved!"
Leni then leaves and Lincoln is in panic, "Mission is on hold! The package is on the move? Clyde?" Lincoln screamed.
However, Lori was with Clyde.
"Clyde! Do you read me?!" Lincoln asked.
"Sorry, Clyde is currently with Mommy right now," Lori replied back.
Meanwhile, Leni was listening to all the messages left for her. Most of them was from her boyfriend Chas.
"Hey, Len. It's Chas. Do you think we'll always be together?" The message said.
"Aww! I'm literally saving that one!" Leni said as she saves it. Clyde faints again.
"Oh dear..." Lori said outside.
Back in Leni's room...
"Hey, Leni. It's Chas again. Should our couple name be Cheni or Laz?" The message said.
"Saved," Leni said as she saves it.
"Laz or Cheni? Those don't even make sense!" Lori said suspiciously.
Lincoln hurries to stop Leni from getting to his message, only to be stopped by the twins.
"We warned you, dirt bag!" Lola shouted.
"Looks like it's the clink for Linc!" Lana shouted before suddenly...
"Look! Luan's making a jailbreak!" Lincoln shouted as the twins turn around and Lincoln makes a break for it downstairs.
"Hey," Lana shouted.
"Don't worry about him. He's out of our jurisdiction now," Lola replied.
"Yeah. Let's get doughnuts," Lana responded to Lola.
As they head out for a doughnut break, Lincoln gets downstairs and finds out that he's too late and Leni is already listening to the hateful message that Lincoln's mother, Lori sent her.
"Hey, Leni. It's your dear Lori and Lincoln," the message said before Lincoln screamed out and dived in slow motion.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Lincoln shouted before he thuds at normal speed.
"There's something we've been meaning to tell you. And that is that you, Leni Loud... are A BIG FOUL-MOUTHED, RELENTLESS, SADISTIC AND UNNATURAL PIECE OF SHIT THAT JUST CHATS WITH YOUR GODDAMN FRIENDS ALL DAY WHEN YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE WATCHING OVER YOUR GODDAMNED MOTHERF...bleep...KING SISTERS!" the message shouted and Leni was shocked by hearing this, "AND I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU BROKE ONE OF LINCOLN'S BELONGINGS! I BOUGHT IT FOR HIM AND YOU END UP BREAKING IT! HOW COULD YOU DO SOMETHING THIS CRUEL AND CARELESS?! THIS IS ALL YOUR GODDAMN FAULT! WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING, LENI?! YOU REALLY NEED TO LEARN TO USE YOUR GODDAMN STUPID BITCHING ASS MANNERS AND YOU NEED TO LEARN TO BE NICE TO OTHER PEOPLE WHEN YOU'RE LEFT IN CHARGE! AND THAT IS WHY YOU ARE THE WORST SISTER EVER, LENI LYDIA LOUD! I REALLY HOPE YOUR PARENTS PUNISH YOU FOR THIS! CASE CLOSED! PERIOD!"
Lincoln looks on in horror. Leni deletes it and turns to Lincoln in complete anger and rage.
"Lincoln, there are absolutely two rules in this household: stay out of my bedroom, and don't ever call my phone! My voicemail is full enough without useless messages from both you and you mother, Lori!" Leni shouted angrily.
"Jeez, Leni, we're sorry," Lincoln replied.
"But, I'm gonna let it slide this time because you were so mature when I broke your stupid toy that your mother Lori bought you," Leni said still bitter.
"Yeah, right. That's me. Mr. Mature like Mom said," Lincoln replied before Leni gets a call and answers it.
"Chas. Only 12 messages today? I thought you cared about me," Leni said in fear.
Lori then comes into the room and sees Lincoln okay, "Lincoln! Oh thank goodness. I thought you were a goner down there," Lori said with relief.
"Yeah, I'm alright, Mom. Next time I have a problem with one of your sisters, I'll just talk to them instead of leaving a message or writing a nasty letter, Mom," Lincoln said to Lori, "Speaking of which, where is that letter?" He looks around for it but can't find it.
"If you want our couple name to be Chani, you're going to have to show a little..." Leni said as she was plucking nose hairs while talking to Chas before she suddenly sees something on the floor, "What's this? Why Leni is the worst sister ever? Chas, I gotta go," she raises her voice, I'M ABOUT TO TURN THAT SON OF A BITCH INTO A HUMAN PRETZEL!" She busts into Lincoln and Lori who were in Lori and Leni's room and reveals the letter to them, completely enraged at them which shocked them, "LINCOLN! LORI! WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS LETTER?!
This shocked the two.
"Uh, I... uh..." Lincoln said in utter fear.
We just tried to explain why you didn't care about us," Lori said in fear.
"WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU TWO, I'M GOING TO TURN YOU SICK BASTARDS INTO HUMAN PRETZELS!" Leni shouted in complete rage.
Lori and Lincoln were now even more frightened by the furious teen. They both looked to each other.
"RUN FOR IT!" Lori and Lincoln shouted in unison as they both ran out of the room, escaping the hands of the furious teenage workout girl.
Outside, Lynn Loud Sr. groaned in frustration as he exited the family van after a hard day's work.
"Why can't Luna play some quiet music for a change?" Lynn Sr. muttered when hearing the very loud rock music Luna usually played coming from inside the house. Once the father of eleven opened the front door, a blur of white hair dashed out the door. It was Lori and her son Lincoln who seemed to be in a rush.
"Sorry, Dad! We're in a rush!" Lori screamed as she and Lincoln both ran towards the street. They were both heading to his best friend's house to escape the anger of Lori's slightly younger sister, Leni.
"They must be heading over to his friend Clyde," Lynn Sr. said.
Back to Lori and Lincoln...
"My god. Why did we have to leave the letter in her room?" Lori said as they ran.
She and Lincoln had both accidentally left a nasty note detailing how Leni was the worst sister ever in her room because Leni had broken a video game of theirs and not apologizing for it. Then the two decided upon leaving a scathing message on her phone instead, but when she had returned home with a new video game she bought to replace the one she had broken which was the one Lori bought for Lincoln, so Lincoln sneaked into her room to retrieve the message, but accidentally left the letter on the floor before sneaking out after deleting the message.
Lynn Sr. entered the house and saw Leni with a very red face and an angry expression. At that moment, Luna stopped playing her guitar, Leni continued.
"WHERE ARE THOSE SICK BASTARD SIBLINGS, I'M GOING TO..." Leni shouted out but she stopped when her father inquired what was going on, "Look at what the annoying little creeps left in my room!" she shouted angrily as she showed her father the note. After reading the note, Lynn Sr. frowned a little, "I'm going to grind them into dust when I get my hands on them!"
"Hold on Leni, you won't do anything of the sort!" Lynn Sr. replied angrily as he read the note.
"Wait, aren't you going to punish them? Look at some of the words that they wrote!" Leni said bitterly. After briefly reading the letter, Lynn Sr. was unhappy, "These assholes must have a very good reason for writing this!" Leni yelled as she basically stood there impatiently with a scowl on her face.
"Leni, I'll deal with the matter, but now I have to prepare dinner! When they come back home, promise me you won't hurt them?" Lynn Sr. said and Leni sighs and gives in.
"All right. I promise," Leni said despondently as she started walking back upstairs. Rita then came toward Lynn Sr.
"Hey, Lynn. I really had no idea why my daughter Leni was acting like a big jerk today," Rita said to Lynn Sr.
"Maybe she was probably having a bad day today," Lynn Sr. responded.
"Not to worry. She'll apologize to them when they get home and hopefully things will go back to normal," Rita replied.
A few minutes later, Lori was ringing the McBride's doorbell. Clyde was the one who opened the door then they both went inside.
Before Clyde could speak, she and Lincoln both spoke out, "Clyde, Lincoln and I messed up," Lori said, "Yeah, we forgot about leaving the letter in her room and she found it."
"Oh no," Clyde responded in shock, "That is definitely not good."
"I have a question, could Mom and I stay at your house in the meantime?" Lincoln asked.
"Yeah. Maybe it could help make our lives better," Lori explained.
"Lori, Lincoln, let's just play a couple of video games on the Nintendo to take your minds off things for a while," Clyde suggested.
"That's a good idea, Clyde," Lincoln responded.
"Why not, Clyde? Let's do it while we have the time," Lori responded.
Back at the house, Lynn Sr. finally sat down on one of the kitchen chairs after being on his feet for a long after he prepared dinner for the family. While making dinner he thought about where Lori and her son Lincoln could have ran to after running out of the house.
"I said I was going to call them after I made dinner," Lynn Sr. said as he picked up the phone and called the McBrides, "Hello Mr. and Mrs. McBride, this is Lynn Sr., could I speak with Lori right now?"
"Sure thing, Lynn," Holly responded on the phone.
Back at the McBrides...
"Lori, it's your father Lynn Loud Senior. He wants to talk to you," Holly said to Lori.
"Okay, Mrs. McBride, I'm coming," Lori said as she grabbed the phone and started talking to her father, "Hey, Dad. Is anything wrong right now?"
"No, Lori. Except that it's just about the note you and Lincoln both left in Leni's room. Why did you write the letter?" Lynn Sr. said on the phone as the eleven year old and his seventeen-year-old big sister/mother both explained the whole story starting with Leni breaking their game and end with them leaving the note in her room by accident, "I see you both left the note in her room before you found out she bought you both another game."
"Yeah, we did," Lori said to the phone.
"Look, I was able to calm Leni down and reassured her I would handle the matter myself, so you and Lincoln can come home," Lynn Sr. suggested on the phone.
"Are you sure about this, Dad?" Lori asked to the phone, "But she'll break every bone in Lincoln's body! And I'll end up having to help you and Mom pay for his medical bill!"
"As I said, I managed to calm her down, and she has promised not to physically hurt either of you so please come home for dinner," Lynn Sr. suggested on the phone.
"You promise it will be okay?" Lori asked skeptically to the phone.
"Yes, I promise you, it will be all right," Lynn Sr. replied on the phone.
Lori then replied, "Okay we'll be there. Is dinner ready yet?"
"No, you can come home in half an hour. Dinner will be ready by then, is that all right?" Lynn Sr. said.
"Okay, see you later, father. Bye," Lori said as she ended the call.
Thirty-five minutes later Lori and Lincoln were home. They silently walked upstairs, nervously awaiting Leni to pounce on them, but heard her speaking to someone downstairs. After washing their hands, the two headed downstairs for dinner and walked into the large dining room to say good evening to Rita. Leni was sitting at the table and just looked at them casually. After dinner, while Leni watched some television, they both approached her.
"Hey Leni," Lincoln said despondently.
"Oh, it's you," Leni replied in certain disappointment, "Is there something you and Lori would like to say?"
"I just want to say thank you for buying back our video game!" Lincoln replied.
"Well, I was glad that you bought him a replacement after you broke the old one I bought for him a few days back. I think the reason you were being grouchy is because you were probably having a bad day, Leni," Lori explained, "But don't you worry. We won't ever write such a letter like that to you again."
Leni's look began to soften. She dropped her phone, and went to Lincoln and Lori and gave them a heartwarming hug, knowing what she did to them was wrong, and believing that she had a pretty bad day.
"I'm sorry, guys. I didn't realize you were playing that super-cool game when I was chatting with my friends on my phone," Leni said softly as she felt soft and warm again, "It was just a reminder to let you know that I was having a private conversation."
"Hey, it's all right, Len-Len. It's all under control," Lori said sweetly as she and Lincoln release Leni after hugging her.
"Lincoln. I'm sorry I butted you out of my room and the bathroom. I really regret doing all that and I just want to forget it happened," Leni said sympathetically, "and you and Lori are both granted access to my room again."
Lori and Lincoln then shake Leni's hands.
"Thank you, Leni," Lori replied softly.
"Not to worry, Lori. It's open for both of you whenever you'd like. It looks like I got it out of the way now," Leni said sweetly.
"Thanks, Leni," Lori and Lincoln said softly to Leni.
"You're welcome. It looks like I feel happy again," Leni said softly as she ended the conversation.
With that, Lori and Lincoln both went upstairs to do their homework, but this time they went to Leni and Lori's old room since Leni granted them access to her room again. The only punishment they received from Lynn Sr. for the bad words in the letter was not being allowed to play video games for two days and Leni kept her promise about not hurting Lincoln and his mother Lori as Leni herself was lightening up and becoming happy again and is now feeling better.
"Well, it looks like it turns out that nobody should consider leaving leave a scathing voicemail for anyone in your household," Lori said to herself.
"Yeah, and who knows what kind of horrible, relentless and unsatisfyingly cruel things would happen to you if you do so," Lincoln said to himself relaxed.
"Yeah, and it could leave you with a serious punishment for that. But who knows how severe it could be?" Leni said happily to herself as they all laugh together in her room.
