Welcome back, everyone. Enjoy and review.
Out of the Darkness
Gard and Davaak both emerged from the passage beneath the Colossus with little in the way of any hinderance. Could it have been that with the Soul Stone in their possession, the Statue had no power? Who could say?
Standing out in the open, Evabon and Labinnac both looked to the sky. Sunrise was not far away and yet… Things did not seem quite right. The night sky seemed a most unnatural green.
Gard could do nought but stare with raised brow. What manner of evil was this? Turning to look up at the seated Giant of Stone, he wondered if it had power yet that he could not even conceive. If the stories were true and the statue could uproot itself from the cliffside that it was carved out of, then what else could it do? If it had been able to take captive Bengali somehow, even turn the sand into anguished images, then what were the extents of this Colossus' power?
Staring at the sky, Davaak soon turned his gaze downwards to the ground. Clutching his cranium, the Labinnac tried to think. What was going on here? What manner of demon was this Statue? Could it be that it was even greater than the Devilry Lord Mumm-Ra? Alas, he knew not. All that he did know was that this thing was dangerous and that neither he, nor Gard were out of danger just yet.
"Evabon!" Looking to his right, Gard saw Grune approaching with his mace in hand. Seeing Davaak, a look of confusion spread across the Sabretooth's countenance. "And a Labinnac… I thought your species were enemies.
Tightly gripping his axe, Gard commented: "Things change."
Staring at the Sabre-tooth, Davaak could not help but wonder what potential the cat might have had to fight against the Devilry Lord. It did not take him long to realize that whatever potential there was no longer existed.
Immediately Davaak hunched over and arched his shoulders. Something was not right, something in the air, something was…
The sound of stone uprooting itself filled the air and soon Evabon, Labinnac and Sabre-tooth all stared half in awe and half in terror as the Colossus stood up and stared down at them.
While Davaak maintained his posture with hunched back and arched shoulders, Gard nervously lifted his axe aloft and wondered what he could possibly do against something so mammoth in size. As for Grune, he lifted his mace aloft and fired a blast of electricity at the Colossus.
Alas, the blast of electricity did nothing against the Giant. It merely lifted its right foot and proceeded to try and squish the three like they would have an insect.
