PERCY POV
Life these past six months have been pretty hectic; getting the demigods to safety, it was a pretty easy gig for me. I mean, I have been fighting monsters for years, ever since I was introduced to the Greek world.
I have saved a lot of demigods since I got this job, which includes delivering 12 demigods to Camp Half-Blood, 11 to Camp Jupiter, and 9 girls ( 7 demigods and 2 mortals) who were wary of Mans, or had been hurt because of One. The kids I had delivered to the camps or the hunt had named me THE RONIN "the samurai with no master", because I always dressed like an Assassin, which I got from the year-long training I had received in Japan. They all knew that I was Percy Jackson and always delivered a message I had for Chiron or the campers.
I was sitting in a log in the middle of the woods making a snow flake from my powers, thinking about Khione. Ever since I had met her and had to leave her, she was a lot on my mind and thinking about her or feeling the cold wind of winter had always soothed me. She had been one of the only people in the world with whom I had grown so close as to share my deepest and darkest secrets. Like smelly gabe, I had told her about the abuse I went through as a kid and how I survived that.
Speaking of which, I'm on my way to rescue a girl from the hands of her uncle. I arrived in front of the girl's house and immediately knew that this was going to be bad. I took a step and melted the door off its hinges using my powers from Hestia. The stench of filth at the house from beer and rotten foods overwhelmed my senses and made me want to gag, and I flinched, remembering smelly gabe. Even after all these fights and power, he still made me feel like a little kid, helpless to stop the monster from hurting me. Pushing those thoughts aside, I went further in.
I stepped ahead to look for the girl and found her shivering from the cold, her whole body riddled with cuts and bruises. I went to reach her, but she flinched with every step I took. My whole body was shaking with anger, but I suppressed it down and crouched down to her level, took a hold of her hands and sent warmth & hope to her. Little by little, she relaxed. She was still wary of me but calmed down a little and was looking at me with pleading eyes like she was hoping that I wouldn't hurt her. She was about 7 years old. It broke my heart that a child this young had to go through this and lose the innocence they should have.
"Don't worry kid I'm not gonna hurt you." I said soothingly to her and she looked up at me. For the first time that night her eyes were clear to me, and they were startling gray like storm-clouds, and I realized with a start that she was a daughter of Athena. I stomped down the hurt that was still lingering inside me cause her eyes reminded me of Annabeth, and it brought all the betrayal and pain I was forgetting. "Promise" she asked with the same hope and joy lingering in her eyes that Annabeth had whenever she would describe something she was passionate about. "I promise now what is your name little one?" I asked her. "Sophie" she answered, and smiled, and it melted the walls I had made in my departure. I nodded and smiled at her, as she reminded me of the future I had always hoped for, where Annabeth and I would have a kid just like Sophie. I couldn't help but imagine her as my daughter.
"Now Sophie I'm going to do something that will feel strange but its gonna make you feel better but you have to trust me. Okay?" I asked her and she nodded. I put my finger against her forehead, and her body was engulfed by the fire from the hearth. When healing began. It took about a minute because she had a lot of bruises. After she was all healed up, she looked at herself, then at me, and said "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you" and launched herself at me and hugged me so fiercely that it would've rivaled one of Tyson. I chuckled and said "You don't have to thank me Sophie its my job to look after kids like you." Then she curiously asked me how I healed her wound and how I knew she was in danger. And kept asking me dozens of other questions causing me to roll my eyes. Leave it to a daughter of Athena to annoy you with just questions, despite all that I liked her (it was hard not to).
"Alright, calm down. My name is Percy Jackson, now do you know anything about the Greek Gods?" I asked her and she nodded "Yes when my dad was alive he used to tell me stories about them" "Well, those gods that you've heard stories about are real and you are a daughter of one. Athena the goddess of wisdom to be exact" I told her, and she looked at me to see if I was joking or not " How do you know?" "Because I'm a son of Poseidon and adopted son of Hestia" I told her, and to prove my point covered one hand with water and the other with fire. She was in awe of me and kept asking me about everything she could think of, and there was a lot considering who her mother was.
"Okay Sophie now can you go and wait outside? I have some unfinished business with your uncle here. But first tell me what kind of food do you like?" She looked at me skeptically and said "pasta" I nodded and summoned some pasta for her and told her to go outside and wait. She nodded timidly and walked out of the house.
As soon as she was out of the house I went looking for her uncle and found the filth passed out in his room from all the alcohol lying around. I used my power and boiled his blood slightly, which caused him to sober up real quick and wake up. He looked at me and I took away his hope with a wave of my hand. "Feel the pain you inflicted upon others. Feel what it is like to feel true hopelessness. Feel the wrath of Gods for your action against their child." His eyes widened comically and he dropped to his knee and started begging me to leave him. If I was the same naive kid I was all those years ago, I would've let him live, but I know now that sometimes justice has to be served. I grabbed him by his neck and melted his organs inside into a puddle and finally snapped it like a twig. Then I proceeded to set the house aflame and walked out to the 7 year old daughter of Athena, who was finished with her pasta and was looking at the burning house with a satisfactory smirk on her face.
I stood in front of her and crouched down. "Now Sophie, you have two options. Option one I take you to a camp for Children of Gods where you will stay safe. Option two I take you to the hunters of Artemis who are a bunch of powerful, semi-immortal girls who hunt monsters, but you will have to stay away from boys to go there. You will find a new family with sisters there. What do you think?" "Can I just stay with you?" she asked hopefully, and I replied sadly, "Sorry Sweetheart but you can't my life's too dangerous for a child". She frowned, but nodded like she understood "okay Percy I choose the Hunters than". I nodded and touched her forehead and teleported us both to the hunters camp. "Okay Sophie I cannot go any further but you go straight ahead and if you see any girls tell them Percy Jackson sent you and that he didn't come near the camp. Do you understand?" She nodded, hugged, and kissed me on the cheek. "Good bye Percy" "Good bye Sophie and remember to ask them to teach you to read too. You will enjoy it" I said to her. She nodded, and I watched as she walked inside the hunters camp and teleported myself out of there to my Mom's house.
ARTEMIS POV
My hunters and I were at the archery range. I was teaching the new girls archery, and the experienced hunters were training themselves when Atlanta one of the oldest hunter currently alive, walked in with a little maiden of about 6-7 years old. She stopped in front of me and bowed, "M'lady, the Ronin has delivered another maiden to the hunt. She had the same situation as all the other girls who were sent by him". I nodded and understood that The Ronin was Percy. He delivers maidens from time to time. All the girls who were sent by Percy had the same abusive household or were wronged by others, mainly men. They all said the same thing, that he rescued them and gave them the option of either going to camp or choosing the hunt. I already respected him because of his actions on his quest to save me, and how he was the first man to gain Zoe's respect and friendship but now that he was saving girls from men and staying out of the border of my camp to respect my girls' privacy, it made me respect him more.
I crouched in front of the little girl and asked "what's your name little one". She looked at me cautiously and replied "Sophie Lance, who are you?" I chuckled and replied "I'm Artemis Goddess of Hunt. Welcome to my hunt, now tell me what happened to you". She then recapped her story about how she was starving and was almost beaten to death when Percy came and saved her and brought her here. I nodded and then asked to see how Percy seemed to act towards her. She immediately brightened up and said "He was very powerful and kind. When he talked, he spoke patiently and explained calmly. He acted like a father and protected me and was funny and joking like a big brother". I smiled at that every girl he brought said the same, that he was like a Father or Brother to them. I thought that he would be a wonderful father and smiled at that thought.
"Sophie do you want to join the hunt?" I asked her, and she nodded eagerly, and I said "Okay repeat after me 'I Sophie pledge myself to the goddess Artemis. I turn my back on the company of men, accept eternal maidenhood, and join the Hunt'
She repeated the oath "I accept" and she glowed silver, and the hunters outfit appeared on her. "Welcome within the ranks of my hunters Sophie, now go and join your other sisters". She nodded and went to where the other recruits were, leaving me alone to think about the actions and my feelings towards THE RONIN 'the samurai with no master'.
PERCY POV
I rang the doorbell to my mother's apartment and waited for her to answer the door. When she didn't answer even after 5 minutes, I opened the door and went in. Immediately my instinct told me something was wrong and I went in and saw a sight that made me want to curl up in a corner and die. My mother was lying in a pool of her own blood with her throat ripped out. Beside her was Paul with a spear impaling his stomach and blood oozing out of his mouth. I looked around for my baby sister Estelle and found her in the corner, and a sob escaped my mouth when I found her. She was in a sitting position with a knife in her heart, feared etched in her face as the last sight she saw before death was her parents getting killed. Her toys smashed around like the assailant didn't find any difference between toys and a child.
I stood crying my eyes out, not being able to do anything else than just watch the horrific sight before me. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a letter at the coffee table stained with blood, and I opened it up to read it.
Percy Jackson
You've been a nuisance to our plans to rule the world. First you defeated our Lord Kronos and then the mother earth Gaia. Now I have figured out your weakness and power source. You fight for your family to see them thrive and they are also your greatest weakness. Now I have taken your family from you and left you as nothing more than a broken boy. It was your fault that they had to die. If you weren't born they wouldn't have died.
Perses : The Titan of Destruction, The Destroyer
I dropped to my knees and screamed a blood-curdling scream.
THIRD PERSON POV
The screams that escaped Percy's mouth had the very earth shaking with rage at its very core. The seas were raging, and the hearths all over the world burnt so bright and high that the temperature increased all over the world. All this destruction and chaos caught the attention of Two Immortals, who immediately flashed to their child's location and surveyed the situation. Poseidon had tears running down his face, which did not help the sea's condition. Hestia herself was no better. She also had tears falling from her eyes.
Both Immortals got a hold of themselves for their child and looked that he was holding a letter. They looked over his shoulder and read the letter, and immense fury and pain filled their hearts. Hestia the ever peaceful goddess showed search fury that she had never. But soon it went away, and concern showed in her expression as she looked over at her first son. Meanwhile, Poseidon could only look at his son with sadness. Hestia saw the broken expression of her son and said "OH Percy you have to understand that this is not your fault."
Percy looked at them and asked them to teleport the bodies to Montauk for burial. They complied and teleported them there. Percy laid Sally and Paul's bodies side by side with their hands resting upon each other, and laid Estelle between their bodies as a family. He then proceeded to place a drachma upon each of their eyes and inside their mouths. Percy prayed to Charon to allow his family to pass peacefully, and then he prayed to Hades to allow them, to Elysium.
After paying his last respect to his family and asking for forgiveness. He turned to Hestia and looked at her and asked calmly, "Where is this Titan now?"
Hestia understood his intentions and tried "Percy you should'n-" but she didn't have the chance to finish her thought as Percy yelled furiously: " E- I S -H E"
Hestia for the first time in a few millenials, understood fear and stuttered "th the h-hunt". She took a deep breath. "He is attacking the hunt"
