Hello everyone this chapter was a little late as I was busy with college.
Perseus Pov
Artemis and I made our way towards the kitchen to prepare breakfast. We were conversing and cooking, when a high pitch scream came from the direction of our bedrooms. We looked at each other and ran towards the voice.
Our bedroom was empty, so we went to look at Eva's bedroom. Annabeth and Piper were standing at the door of her bedroom; they looked and retreated. I looked inside to find the most magnificent wolf I had ever seen. Pure majestic 6ft. black hair wolf. Eyes that were the same shade as mine, they held power that could rival even the Gods. Looking at the wolf, I felt nothing but pride and love.
It was after all, my daughter.
"Stay back, she doesn't understand what is going on." I said to the three women with me.
"She? You mean that is Eva?" Annabeth asked, worried for our daughter.
"Yes I didn't knew that my children would be able to turn into wolves." I replied to them.
"Why did she turn to a wolf suddenly?" Artemis asked concerned for her.
"She must've had a nightmare and turned involuntary. Her wolf side came out because her human side was too afraid to cope." My explanation just made Annabeth more worried. She took a step to reach our daughter. Eva growled and bared her canines at her as she got ready to pounce. The power radiating off her expanded.
Annabeth took a step back, as did Piper and Artemis. I smirked at my daughter, proud that even as a pup she was threatening enough to scare three immortals. Hey, don't look at me weird; I'm a wolf too. Seeing my pup had me overjoyed with love.
I raised my hand in surrender and took a step toward her; she looked at me, confused. "Easy sweetheart it's me dad."
Third Person Pov
Percy turned himself into a wolf too, not his true form, but a shorter version. He was still large at least 9ft. tall. He took a step towards his daughter, Eva finally relaxed, seeing someone she could identify it. She howled at him, and in turn he howled back at her.
Wolf Percy reached his pup and licked her forehead. Eva whined at her father. Percy grabbed Eva by her neck with his mouth, and carried her to the outside of their palace. He let her drop to the ground and howled.
All around Olympus, Gods and Goddesses came out to see the commotion. They saw a father wolf and a daughter wolf, running wild around the city. They smiled, seeing the father and daughter play. Annabeth, Piper and Artemis had their hearts swelled up in love seeing Percy with his daughter.
Pretty soon Eva began tiring and fell asleep as she shifted back to her human form. Percy picked, and cradled her in his arms. He flashed themselves to camp, Artemis, Annabeth, and Piper following soon.
LINE-BREAK
Soon the demigods and hunters gathered at the dining pavilion to hear about Percy's second quest. This time all the Olympians except Percy were present. They were waiting for the Lord of Time to arrive.
Percy's girlfriends noticed that his assassins were also gone. Concluding that they were on a mission, probably an assassination.
The three assassins arrived at the dining pavilion and took their usual seats. Percy sat with his girlfriends and kissed each of them. Annabeth saw that he had a drop of blood in his neck; she reached over to wipe it. "Clean yourself before you present yourself to others, seriously how much of a seaweed brain can you get?"
Artemis, and Piper heard it and were snickering at him, while Percy pouted adorably at them. Percy sensed a Titan's presence outside the border of the camp and allowed the Titan in when he recognized her.
"Demigods meet Rhea, Queen of Titans, mother of the elder gods." Percy announced, and the demigods and hunters gave a bow each to the Queen of Titans.
"Relax children, I am here to hear about the adventures of your King, and to be with my grandchildren." Rhea's soothing voice calmed them. She had the same kind of aura as her eldest daughter. The power radiating off her, though, was second only to Perseus. Gods, Goddesses, Demigods and hunters smiled at her.
Piper took her spot on Percy's lap, with Artemis, and Annabeth at his side. When everyone settled down, Percy started; The second quest started when Annabeth and I arrived at Camp with a Cyclops. We were at the border when we saw a battle going on between two Colchis bulls and the campers. The border of the camp was failing, which allowed the bull to breach it. Clarisse was leading the charge against the bulls. We defeated the bulls with the help of Cyclops, who was with us. That's when we realized that Thalia's pine was poisoned. Our camp was dying.
Those who didn't know the story gasped after hearing him. Many grew scared, despite it being a past tale. The only place they felt safe was dying; how horrible was the second Titan War? Many had the same questions on their minds.
"Who poisoned the tree would be told later." Annabeth said before anyone could ask questions. She looked at Percy to see his eyes directed towards Thalia. She was staring back at him. Percy's eyes held pain she had only seen when she was in danger.
Thalia caught Percy's gaze and felt her heart drop. The amount of anger and pain surprised her; she knew she was falling for her best-friend. Now, looking at him, the way his body tensed when the part about her tree's poisoning was brought up. 'Does he return my feelings too?' She thought to herself.
Percy barely controlled the rage he felt, remembering how Thalia's pine looked. He looked at Thalia, and felt his heart clench. She had the most mesmerizing electric blue eyes he had ever seen. He felt like drowning at the depth of them. He continued when Annabeth nudged him.
After the battle with the bulls was over, Chiron told us that he was fired from his job at camp. He didn't tell us, but we knew it was Zeus' decision to fire him. He was replaced by Tantalus as the camp's activity manager.
The demigods were seething with anger at hearing about their trainer being fired.
"What need would be there for Chiron to be fired?" A young boy asked.
"Because Chiron is a son of Kronos, Zeus didn't trust him, which in my opinion is hypocritical, as Zeus himself is the Titan Lord's son." Percy called, rolling his eyes at the King of God.
Zeus tried to defend himself, "I was trying to keep the Gods safe."
"You were trying to keep yourself and your throne safe Zeus, just like your father." Percy said pointedly, not caring, even a bit of offending him. Rhea was thinking about his words.
"I am not my father," Zeus gritted his teeth at him, not believing that he was anything like his father.
"You're not? Let's see shall we. When Kronos first received the prophecy of his children overthrowing him, he decided to control the prophecy. You did the same by binding your brothers in an oath. You tried to control the prophecy." Percy hissed at him, disgusted by the actions of Zeus.
The Olympians couldn't find any lies in his words, knowing every word he spoke was the truth. Rhea closed her eyes, almost close to sobbing at seeing how her son had become the exact replica of her husband. The demigods were silent, not willing to get caught in the crossfire of the Gods.
"Kronos tried to kill own innocent children by devouring them. You tried to kill three innocent children; Bianca, Nico and I just to save your own hide. You successfully killed a mother of two children because of your own selfish reasons." Percy said, his hands were itching to attack Zeus.
Hades and Nico had darkness rolling off them, remembering the demise of Maria Di'Angelo.
"You would have killed your own daughter Thalia, if she had threatened your rule. Can you see that you're not any different from your father?" Percy asked the King of Gods.
Zeus looked down, ashamed. He knew now that he was just the same as his father. Rhea felt the despair, only a mother can; she couldn't believe what had become of the once precious boy of hers. The one who promised to rule justly.
Thalia closed her eyes; knowing her father would smite her without remorse, if he was threatened by her. Zeus' other children looked at him, disgusted.
When no one said anything for a while, a little girl spoke, "Sir who is Tantalus?"
It was Annabeth that answered her, "Tantalus was a rich and wicked king of Sipylus. He was welcomed on Olympus at the Gods' dining table to dine with them, but he abused the Gods' hospitality and stole Ambrosia from them. The Gods saw this and banned him from their hall forever, his people saw this and mocked him, his own children scolded him. To get his revenge on them Tantalus invited the Olympians to a feast, and fed his own children to the them. The Gods learned of this and punished him with eternal hunger and thirst in afterlife. He stands in a pool of water beneath a fruit tree with low branches. However when he tries to reach for it the branches would rise, and the water would flow away from his grasp."
The young demigods were horrified that someone would feast his own children to others. Some were on the verge of throwing up. The Gods had a smirk on their faces, obviously pleased with the punishment they devised. Percy was laughing his butt off, and when they looked at him in question, he croaked out, "I am just glad that my mother wasn't invited."
Hestia smiled back at her son as she held Eva on her lap.
After a moment, Percy continued, later that night; Tantalus announced that the chariot race would be starting again, despite there being previous deaths and mutilations. After that Tyson, the Cyclops that was with me, was claimed as the son of Poseidon; the campers started teasing me about having a monster as a brother. Annabeth and I got into a fight that left me and Tyson alone for the chariot race. When we were participating in the race, Stymphalian birds attacked us. Annabeth jumped in my chariot and told me how Hercules had defeated them using a brass bell. We didn't have any brass bells, so we used the next best thing; Chiron's music collection. We turned the other way and got the tapes, and soon a bunch of guys moaning in Italian were heard. The Stymphalian birds had an aneurysm which helped the Apollo cabin to shoot them down.
Chiron had an offended look on his face while the rest of them were laughing. Percy raised his hands at him when he turned to glare at him, "Hey, don't blame me that even monsters can't listen to your music."
Chiron muttered something about how no one appreciates great music nowadays.
Before the story could continue Apollo cleared his throat for attention. When everyone turned to him, he raised his hand dramatically.
"Demi-gods defeat monster birds,
Char-I-ot race comes to halt,
Chi-ron has bad taste."
The hunters let out a collective groan at his Haiku. Artemis fired an arrow that wailed past his head. Percy, and Hermes sent a discreet thumb-up towards him.
Chiron gave the Sun God a mild glare. The Gods watched the scene in front of them in amusement; this is how a family is supposed to behave.
Demi-Gods who didn't have much experience with the gods could only watch with wide eyes.
Tantalus declared Clarisse the victor of the chariot race, and punished me and Annabeth with kitchen duty for disrupting the birds. Later she told me of the only thing that could save the camp. The Golden Fleece. We decided to pressure Tantalus for a quest when everyone was around so he couldn't refuse. He said that we didn't know where the fleece was; that was when I said I knew. The Gray sisters had given me a location for our ride back to camp. Tantalus couldn't refuse us in front of the whole camp, so he agreed. He chose Clarrise as the quester. The quest was at the Sea of Monsters, or what mortals call the Bermuda Triangle.
Many had their mouths open at hearing that, but didn't say anything.
Clarrise shot an ugly look at Percy, the latter of whom rolled his eyes.
That night I was angry and couldn't sleep. So I went to the only place that comforted me, the beach. I sat there thinking about the fate of camp, when someone else joined me. I didn't recognize the person at first; it was Hermes, the patron god of travelers. He persuaded me into going on the quest myself and asked for a favor. Then he gave me a bottle of magical multi-vitamins, and a thermos containing winds. He wished me good luck and jogged off.
"I bet he told you the story about how he stole my sacred cows. He always tells that story." Apollo cut in at the story.
Percy laughed and nodded at him, "he sure did." Hermes frowned at both of them. It was a good story, why shouldn't he tell it? He thought to himself.
Chris looked at Percy, "What was the favor he asked?" He wanted to know why his father had intervened, in the quest himself. What possible reason could he have?
Percy's face turned into a sad one, "He wanted me to save Luke along with the camp. He told me that you never give up on family, no matter how much they tempt you."
Hestia, several Gods and Demigods gave Hermes kind smiles.
The children of Hermes were overjoyed, thinking that their father did care.
When Hermes vanished from my sight, Annabeth and Tyson came running to me. They had heard me calling for help and I figured it was Hermes' doing. I prayed to Father for transportation at sea, and soon three beautiful Hippocampi arrived. We rode the Hippocampi till we got closer to a cruise, almost ten stories tall. It had a three-story-tall masthead of a woman screaming. The cruise ship was named Princess Andromeda, named after my namesake's wife.
Chris Rodriguez looked troubled, thinking that many would learn that he, too, once was on the enemy's side.
The veterans from the second Titan war growled at hearing the name of that accursed ship.
Hephaestus cabin had their heads hung low, remembering the fate of their fallen brother. "We miss him," many of them said. Leo looked troubled too; despite never meeting him. He was still his brother; and a hero figure to him.
"Who are they talking about?" A younger girl asked.
"Charles 'Charlie' Beckendorf he was a hero in the second Titan war. He sacrificed his life so that I can survive. He blew up the Princess Andromeda with himself in it." Percy told her, to which she nodded.
Hephaestus looked glum, he might not be able to show emotions, he still didn't like hearing about his children's death.
Everyone took a moment of silence to remember the Son of Forge God.
We decided to rest for the night, when we woke up in the morning we heard someone we recognized. It was Luke Castellan.
Many got a sour look on their faces at Luke's name.
I also heard the voice of another demigod that I recognized. We hid ourselves from them, and I sensed evil on that ship, great evil. Luke found us and had us surrounded; he admitted to poisoning the tree. I tried to make him see sense, that his father loved him; that Hermes himself sent me to save him. He was far too gone in hate and anger to see sense; he tried to recruit Annabeth to his cause. When he saw that he couldn't persuade her, he decided to capture us. He made his guard dogs Agrius and Oreius take us to the basement. Thankfully we had a Cyclops with us. Tyson smacked Oreius 30 feet back, which gave us the time to escape in a life-boat.
"Who was Agrius and Oreius Sir?" The daughter of Athena from yesterday asked.
Artemis and Aphrodite stiffened, knowing full well Percy would tell them the story without holding back. Despite how much he loved Artemis, he would not show any mercy to her. He was the God of Justice.
"Agrius and Oreius are other examples of how the Gods are far similar than Titan that they care to think. Examples of the arrogance and pride of Gods." Percy said disgusted, remembering the fate of Polyphonte. Some of the Olympians wanted to defend themselves, but knew that if they tried to Percy would just rip them apart with his words.
"What do you mean?" The girl asked, confused as to what her king meant. The hunters too, leaned forward; the older ones didn't know the full story. The younger ones had heard something about a huntress and love; they wanted to know further.
"There was a woman named Polyphonte, she was a granddaughter of Ares. A great warrior, her name literally meant 'Slayer of many' Aphrodite wanted her to fall in love, but Polyphonte didn't want that. She turned to the Goddess she could feel safe with, Artemis the Goddess of hunt. Polyphonte joined the hunt as one of Artemis' hunting maidens. When Aphrodite saw this she was angry, and cursed Polyphonte to insanity. In her madness Polyphonte had intercourse with a bear and became pregnant. Artemis saw this and abandoned the deranged girl. Later Polyphonte gave birth to two bear twins, Agrius and Oreius." Percy informed them.
The demigods turned to the Goddess of Love in horror; her own children looked at her in disgust and fear. Aphrodite saw this and lowered her head, remembering what Percy had said to her. That she had the blackest heart he had ever seen.
Artemis was silent as her hunt turned to her in shock. She had abandoned a poor girl that had no fault alone. She knew she had done many monstrous deeds in the past.
When Percy saw the fear in the demigods and hunters eyes, he addressed them. "Do not fear, if any Gods/Goddesses decide to screw with you, I would rip them apart limb from limb. Even if you are at fault they won't dare to do anything, or else I will deliver my own reckoning."
They smiled at him, happy that he cared for them. The Gods however, gulped, they had seen how he whopped Zeus' ass earlier. They didn't want to know what kind of reckoning he was talking about.
Ares stayed silent, remembering his granddaughter; she was a great warrior.
We used the thermos of wind that Hermes gifted me to steer the boat. Annabeth asked to steer the boat towards Chesapeake bay; she guided us to the bay to some trench. She said this was a safe house. She, Thalia and Luke had made when they were on the run. We sat down and Annabeth said she had something personal to talk to me, so she sent Tyson to buy some donuts in the middle of the woods. After we talked Tyson returned, and strangely enough, he had some donuts with him. He got that from a shop called MONSTER DONUTS. Annabeth informed us that the donuts shop was a nest for monsters. As she said that a Hydra attacked us, I didn't know much about Hydras, so I slashed one of its heads off, which had two more grow at the place. We needed fire but didn't have that. Thankfully, someone shot a ballista at the Hydra, effectively killing it. We looked to see a Civil War cruiser, and in it was Clarisse in full battle armor. She looked at us and said, "Losers, but I suppose I have to rescue you. Come aboard."
Clarrise shot a triumphant look as everyone turned to her at once.
Percy took the chance as everyone had their attention diverted; he leaned down and nibbled at Piper's neck. Piper turned gold at his touch and sighed happily. Artemis and Annabeth saw this and smiled.
When we boarded the cruise we saw dead Confederates everywhere, the ship was manned by the dead. Clarrise explained to us that the losing side in any war owes a tribute to Ares. That's how she got the ship from her father. She decided to take us prisoners so that we wouldn't steal her chance of glory. I fell asleep soon and a dream came. I woke up to the sound of alarms ringing throughout the ship. Signifying that we had reached the entrance to Sea of Monsters. I went down to the boiler room and felt rage like no other. The only other time I had felt such rage was when Ares had decided to interfere on our first quest. Ares was there in some form of steam.
Clarisse immediately tensed up, along with Ares. She hadn't known that Percy had seen that, she wanted to get angry at him, but knew that the only one to blame was her father.
Ares knew what was coming and waited for the explosion.
Ares was threatening his own daughter. He said that he should've chosen one of his sons for the quest, and said that she was pathetic. And if she allowed me to steal the chance to glory. He left the threat hanging and raised his hands, as if to strike her. He didn't hit her, but Clarisse flinched at that. He threatened her once again and vanished.
Artemis was getting angrier with each word. At the end she stood up and summoned her bow and aimed it at Ares' head. "And pray tell what is wrong with a daughter, Brother." She spat at him.
Annabeth too, stood up and summoned her sword; she looked threateningly at Ares, ready to chop his head off.
Aphrodite looked sick at hearing of his actions; she however, felt despair that she chose him over her ex-husband. When she heard the forge god address his children, "I want you to know that all my children are equal, sons and daughters." Hephaestus said to his children, and in return, they all smiled at him. Aphrodite couldn't believe that she chose someone as Ares over Hephaestus.
Clarisse looked thrilled that everyone had jumped in to defend her, and all females.
Ares knew he was at fault and kept silent. He wasn't a sexist god; he just was angry that a twelve year old had humiliated him.
When we reached deck, we saw that a hurricane was going on. Clarisse informed us that it was Charybdis; she told us that the only way to go into the Sea of Monsters was through Charybdis or either Scylla. She decided that she could blow Charybdis with her canons, and set sail for her. The ship's engine was malfunctioning so Tyson went in to fix it. We fired at Charybdis to no avail. Charybdis went silent; then like a volcano she exploded, and we were thrown back. I used all my strength to keep the ship as steady as I could. Unfortunately, at that exact moment Scylla attacked us. We decided to go downstairs but the deck below was on fire. I ordered them to take life boats and sail away, and decided to save Tyson from below. The ship exploded before I could save anyone and got knocked out.
When I woke up, I was on a makeshift life boat. Annabeth was at my side; she told me, that we weren't able to save Tyson. I forced her to tell me about the prophecy that was about me. She said that 70 years ago a prophecy was given, that a child of the big three would grow up to become a weapon, when he/she turns sixteen. They would be responsible for the fate of Olympus. He or she will make the decision that either saves the Age of Gods or destroys it.
The younger demigods and hunters that didn't know about the first great prophecy had their mouths open. Thinking about how someone could live with the burden of knowing that he was the one responsible for the world's survival. That kind of burden could make anyone go mental.
We soon reached land and there was a resort. CC's Spa & Resort. I looked around to see that we were in a tropical paradise. An attendant attended us and took Annabeth away for a makeover, as the other took me. The woman gave me a mixture of some potions to drink. I drank it and felt weird. The potion she gave me was magical, and I turned into a Guinea Pig. She threw me into a cage with six other guinea pigs.
Percy tried to continue the story but couldn't as everyone started laughing. Piper and Artemis were rolling around him, teasing. Percy blushed bright gold; Annabeth smirked at him, and said "You made a pretty cute Guinea pig seaweed brain."
Percy grinned at her and kissed her.
The woman put me in a cage when Annabeth came in. She looked so good that even the Guinea Pig me was tongue-tied. The woman then introduced herself as Circe and offered Annabeth to join her. Annabeth asked for some time alone to think. When she went away, Annabeth looked and found me in a cage. When Circe returned Annabeth took out her dagger and threatened her to turn me back. Circe tried to turn Annabeth into something, but couldn't. Wise girl here had eaten some of Hermes' multivitamin. She dropped some into the cage. I transformed back as I ate it. But the other guinea pig also ate it and transformed. Annabeth recognized one of them as Edward Teach, son of Ares, commonly known as Blackbeard. The six pirates chased Circe and her attendants away leaving Annabeth and I alone. We both then stole Blackbeard's ship- Queen Anne's revenge.
Many had their jaws dropped while Ares shouted, "That witch caged my son?"
The children of Ares were excited to hear that their brother was freed from the tangle of that witch. Leo was laughing loudly and said, "You stole the ship of Blackbeard- the greatest pirate to ever live." Calypso being the mature one smacked him upside the head.
We sailed the sea until we neared the land of the siren. Annabeth told me how the siren shows you your greatest desire. She wanted to know hers, so she made me tie her up.
"Kinky," Piper whispered to Artemis, who snickered silently. Annabeth heard this and smacked Piper's forehead.
I stuffed my ears with wax and watched her. Annabeth was struggling across the rope, thrashing around, screaming at me to release her. I couldn't see her in pain, so I turned around; when I turned back she was gone. She was swimming her way to the sirens. I swam after her and grabbed her, but she started kicking me. As I tried to control her, I saw what she desired.
Percy's voice was hard at the last part, and Annabeth figured out why his voice was strained. "Close your eyes," she said to the demigods, and flashed both herself and Percy to a nearby cliff.
"You saw Luke in my vision didn't you?" She asked him, making him look at her.
"Yes," Percy replied, and closed his eyes. Even after all these years, that vision affected me. The fact that Annabeth liked Luke was far too painful.
'Did you see yourself or me?" She asked him.
"No I didn't." Percy answered, looking at her, confused.
"You were with me seaweed brain." She said, and Percy's heart fluttered.
"What?" he asked confused.
"You were with me holding my hand. Even all those years ago you were the most important person to me. More important than Luke, you were holding my hand as I looked at my family." She said, looking at him.
"Really?" Percy asked, jumping up and down like a kid.
"Yess…. You baby, you were and are the one for me." She replied.
"I love you," Percy pushed his forehead against her.
"Yeah I love you too," Annabeth said, smirking at her jealous boyfriend.
Percy vapor traveled back to the pavilion. Artemis asked what had happened, and he promised to tell her later.
He continued the story again. I knew as long as she would hear the sirens, she would fight back. I pushed her inside the water and made an air bubble for her to breathe. Sound can't travel underwater, so she stopped fighting and started sobbing at my shoulder. I soon got us both back on the ship.
"How did you manage the ship if no one was aboard?" One of the demigod boys asked.
Percy smirked at him, "I am a son of Poseidon, I could do a lot of things none could dream of."
Poseidon, and Amphitrite smirked back, anything to show them who had the best domain.
See, the thing I didn't tell you was I had another motive for this quest. My best friend Grover was captured by a Cyclops, Polyphemus. I was having dreams of him being in danger, and I knew this was the place where he was. I wanted to save the camp, but my priority was to save Grover.
Grover smiled at his friend, knowing full well, he wanted to save him first.
When we reached the island of Polyphemus, it was the most beautiful place I had ever seen. The Golden Fleece's magic was coursing through the island. But the island was run by cannibal sheep; we didn't have any way to cross through, without it being turned into sheep food. Now this is where Annabeth had a ridiculous idea, she made herself invisible using her hat. For me, she had me hanging upside down from a sheep's belly.
Everyone, Gods, Demigods, and Hunters started laughing at the misfortune of Percy. Annabeth was laughing the hardest, remembering his face.
We were inside Cyclops cave when Annabeth tricked him using the same trick Odysseus used. By calling herself a nobody, the Cyclops was so enraged and distracted that I used that time to find Grover. However, I found both him and Clarisse there. I freed Clarisse from her bond when an explosion happened. We ran outside to see that Polyphemus was holding upside down from her legs. I shouted at him and he dropped her. Grover charged at the Cyclops and threw a bone at his head.
They turned to look at Grover, not believing that skinny Satyr charged at a full grown Cyclops. Grover's fellow satyrs and Juniper were all proud of him. Juniper proved it by grabbing him and giving him a deep passionate kiss.
Clarisse took that time and positioned her spear for the Cyclops to step on it. Polyphemus roared in agony; she attacked him repeatedly. It was the bravest thing I had seen.
Ares, and his children gave Clarisse a proud look. The Drakon Slayer flushed at the praises.
Out of the corner of my eyes I could see Grover carrying Annabeth across the bridge. I shouted Clarisse to fall back, and when we were crossing the bridge I asked Grover to cut the ropes of the bridge. We crossed in time, but unfortunately Polyphemus did too. I was angry, angrier than ever; we had done so much, suffered so much. Annabeth was unconscious, something in me snapped, and I charged at the Cyclops. I slashed and swiped, pretty soon I Polyphemus was sprawled on his back, groaning and dazed. And I was standing over him with the tip of my sword aimed at his eye.
No sound could be heard, as everyone was gaping at the Lord of Time. For a thirteen year old, to defeat one of the most known and powerful Cyclops. They couldn't believe it, so they turned to Clarisse, "How did it feel to see that."
Clarisse smirked, remembering the fight, "I have seen Prissy do a lot of stuff but that was my favorite. He played with Polyphemus, I had trouble believing how a twelve year old scrawny kid could defeat my father The God of War, but after that moment I believed it."
Ares nodded, the way he had defeated him; he had no doubt in believing that he could defeat a Cyclops.
Polyphemus cried and whined; he pleaded with me to show mercy, and I did. He was another son of Poseidon. I couldn't kill him in cold blood. I left him making him promise he wouldn't hurt us. As soon as we stood up, he tried to attack us. That's when a rock the size of a baseball wailed past us and hit him in the throat. Tyson was standing behind us.
Cheering rose from the crowd at Tyson's appearance. Percy chuckled, happy that his brother got such a reaction from the crowd.
Poseidon saw how the crowd went wild at Tyson's name and decided to bring him in for the next quest's story.
We asked Tyson to cross the cannibal sheep to bring the Fleece to us. Hoping, that the sheep would not hurt him, considering he was a Cyclops too. He waded through the sheep, and got the Fleece, but hundreds of sheep were cuddling to him, bleating affectionately. He threw the Fleece at us, and I wrapped it around Annabeth, who was still unconscious, and prayed to all the Gods I could think of to save her. Thankfully she woke up.
Annabeth smiled, she didn't know how bad he was seeing her hurt. The baboon may have not known it, but he was in love with her the moment he saw her.
We decided to board the Queen Anne's Revenge when I saw that sheep were blocking us. I asked Tyson to lead them away from us, to which she complied. When we reached the ship, Polyphemus rose again and started throwing rock at us. Tyson and I charged him together; we blinded him, when we had him down. I looked at Tyson and couldn't do it. We left him and ran for the ship; just when we thought we could reach the ship, Clarisse started shouting insults at him. He found the ship's location from her voice and threw a big rock. The rock wailed past our head and smacked the ship. Which caused the ship to sink, making us plunge underwater.
Everyone turned to Clarisse, incredulously, thinking about why she would do something so stupid. She just said, "I was still young," and glared at everyone.
One kid though, sneered at Percy, "Why would you show mercy to a monster."
Percy frowned at him, "I was an innocent kid and thought that killing was something I shouldn't be allowed to do."
The kid continued pushing him, "That maybe, but why would you call a monster brother?"
Percy's eyes glowed golden, signifying not to push him further. "My brother is not a monster. A monster is when I caught a group of men kidnapping a 10 year old to rape her. Now that kind of men are monsters, and I would like you to know I delivered justice accordingly, their blood tasted sweet on my tongue." Percy's canine enlarged and popped out of his mouth, giving him an animalistic look. The kid that pushed him gulped and nodded.
Satisfied Percy continued, Tyson and I contacted through our mind and summoned the Hippocampi; we rode them till we reached Florida. When we reached there, Clarisse was shaken down, thinking she had failed the quest. I asked her what was the prophecy she got. She told me the prophecy which was,
"You shall sail the iron ship with warriors of bone,
You shall find what you seek and make it your own.
But despair for your life entombed within stone,
And fail without friends, to fly home alone."
I understood the prophecy then. She would never have been able to complete the quest without friends. I gave her the Fleece and asked her to take it back to camp.
"You just gave up the Fleece like that. Knowing she would get all the glory?" One of the kids voiced everyone's opinion.
"I never cared for glory or praise. All I ever wanted was to be one of the others, normal." Percy answered in all honesty.
Artemis and her hunters smiled; this was why they liked him. He was honest, and despite everything he achieved, wasn't prideful.
After Clarisse went away, Luke found us; he was waiting for us. I knew he wasn't going to let us go, so I played a trick on him. I threw a Drachma at him, which he obviously dodged; the drachma flew into the rainbow made by a fountain and sunlight nearby. I prayed to Iris and asked him to show Dionysus at camp. Behind Luke, an Iris message played as I tricked him into confessing to poisoning Thalia's tree. Luke noticed the message and attacked. I hadn't practiced sword fighting all summer, so I was rusty. He slashed my leg with Kronos' scythe and my entire body was screaming in pain. I could literally feel my soul being ripped from my body. Thankfully, at that moment Chiron and the party ponies arrived, effectively saving us. They pushed Luke and his cronies back into their ship. Chiron and the party ponies traveled us back to camp. Where Clarisse had just reached with the Fleece, and we draped Thalia's pine with it.
Chiron had a smug look on his face at hearing about his brethren. Apollo leaned near Hermes and whispered, "Is Chiron smirking?"
Hermes who was equally shocked, nodded, "I'm just as perplexed as you are."
Later, Chiron thought it would boost the camp's morale if we continued the chariot race, with precautions, of course. Annabeth and I won obviously. The next day I was resting when Grover came almost crying saying something about an unconscious girl at Thalia's Pine. I was scared out of my mind and ran to there, but when I reached there Annabeth was fine. A girl about 15 years old was lying at the tree's foot; she was scared out of her mind. No one made a move to help her. I moved her into a sitting position and had her head resting on my shoulder. When I asked her name, she said she was Thalia daughter of Zeus.
Percy was smiling brightly at the end of the story, and Thalia felt her heart melt. She knew wholeheartedly that she was in love with her best friend.
"This was a short quest, so lets finish the third one tonight too." Percy announced, when he was about to continue, the weather had shifted.
The winds around the camp grew cold, frosts started covering the ground and the leaf of trees. Demigods and Hunters started shivering; even some of the Gods were feeling the drop in temperature.
Everyone was on the edge of their seat; they knew that this was the work of some deity, but didn't know who.
Except for Percy, he was grinning ear to ear.
