Chapter 3
Ofis B Culepla Asteroid Belt
Chiron CIC
Lt. Cmdr. Jasper walked onto the bridge of the Chiron. "Major what is the situation" she asked.
Major Marton responded "about 2 minutes ago the Libran Dreams jumped into the system. Their captain sent an emergency message that the Cylon fighters have attacked Ofis A and New Hadrian. They are claiming that nuclear weapons have been used on the planet. Maxon has messaged us and we have given them a spot outside the solar system for them to jump to. The 2 Raptors off ship are about 2 minutes from landing. What are your orders sir?"
Jasper thought for a second. There is no way the Cylons would only attack a minor subcolony and certainly Ofis B would be hit next. But with Maxon jumping their ships out soon this solar system would be safe. Hoping that the situation in Ofis A was salvageable or that some civilians could be rescued jumping to Ofis A was the only choice. "Lt. Stevenson let Maxon know we are jumping to A in 2 minutes. If we don't make the rendezvous they are to proceed with caution back to Colonial Space. Major have the 2 Raptors on board ready to launch along with the ones landing when we get in Ofis A. They are to scout out the mining zones and look for any other Colonial ships."
Jasper then grabbed the microphone and hit the ship broadcast button. "Attention all crew. This is the Commander. We have been informed of an attack on Ofis A by the Cylons. We do not know what we are jumping in to but I know you will all perform admirably."

Maxon Mining ship Maxon's Respite
Jessi Maxon was trying to keep her calm and project leadership for the people on the bridge. Since the Libran Dreams had jumped in and said that the Cylons had attacked Ofis A. Her ships had been ordered to jump to the coordinates sent by the Chiron. Biggest issue was the around 70 of her people were mining and off ship. She knew what she should do but she did not want to abandon any of her people.
"Boss the Chrysos is on the line. Decat wants to talk to you" said her communications officer. Maxon signaled to send to her headset for a private conversation.
"Gods Damn it Jessi you have to jump your ships out of here. I will stay behind and pick up the stragglers. Take the 2 ore ships. The Blue Boys are going to leave in about 90 seconds and you need to take care of everyone and get those frakking kids out of here" said Thomas Decat.
Jessi knew that he was right. The 6 mining ships had around 300 people The others had over 2000 including the almost 100 children in the fleet. "Alright Tom but no heroic BS if you get a sniff of any Toaster ship jump out. Do you understand?"
"Yes boss" said Decat. "Now get the frak out of here."

Maxon Mining Ship Chrysos
"Alright people we need to send shuttles to get those people off the rock. Tell them to leave everything" said Decat. Currently there was 1 shuttle next to the work site that could carry about 20 miners and another doing a survey of a new potential mining site. "Tell the Iridio and the Sidero to jump to the rendezvous point." The Iriidio was almost full and slow at the best of times and Captain Tourikia of the Sidero was asking more questions than everyone else and might be losing it. This might cause a delay when they had to land the shuttles but probably better to remove them from danger.
Decat could tell people were getting nervous especially when the Chiron left the system. Seeing the other MM (Maxon Mining) ships leave with their families was a relief but also made them feel more abandoned. "Everyone else be ready to jump on my command or as soon as the shuttles land."
The first shuttle on the mining site had landed and the survey shuttle was about to land. "Asimi and Chalkos jump out as soon as the shuttles are down. Ermis you and I will get the rest." Decat hoped that Captain Kristis being formerly Colonial Navy would be the best choice. "OK people get ready to pack in and get really chummy with your friends here because I don't think we will have time go send another shuttle." The mining shuttles were designed to carry 8 in "comfort" and 20 in an emergency. 47 in 2 shuttles would be tight. Looking at the clock it was about 3 more minutes to get the shuttles back to the ships.
The next few minutes were the longest of Decat's life but both shuttles were landing. The last 2 ships jumped out just over a minute before the Cylons arrived in the system.

I know the timeline is kind of weird. A timeline will be posted in a few updates but for now I am trying to more or less keep things in chronological order. Also a list of characters and ships will also be posted
Maxon Mining had sort of "split" the ships into 2 divisions. Decat was an old mining hand who was in charge of the mining and ore ships. Jessi Maxon while being in charge of everything being the CEO was also the manager of the "support" ships. Also I have kind of decided that tyleum is mined in 3 steps. There is the rocks with tyleum in it, tyleum ore, and fuel. Rocks mined by the mining ships and the ore ships break up all the rocks and refines the tyleum and other valuable or useful ores and store them for use or sale.
