Loki awakens on Svartalfheim to the dull realization that he has not, in fact, died heroically. And waits for Thor. And waits for Thor. And waits for Thor.

Taking place in a parallel universe, Thor has just inadvertently re-ignited a war between Asgard and the Frost Giants of Jotunheim. In disgust, his father Odin strips Thor of his powers and banishes him from Asgard. Arriving on Xandar, Thor must join up with a ragtag team of thieves and mercenaries in order to find his place in the galaxy.

A security malfunction aboard the Statesman sends Loki into a panic. Though he claims to be fine afterwards, Thor knows his brother well.
