Canon divergence, with a mix of the 'Merry knew Éowyn was disguised as a male soldier' scenario from the film adaptation of ROTK and smaller aspects of the book. Legolas and Gimli arrive in Valinor. With old friends and a new world, they try to settle in to a new life. However, Legolas soon finds that even though he has left Middle-earth behind, the baggage of his old world still follows him. In a perfect land, suddenly with nothing to do, Legolas struggles to find his place, a challenge that tests even his friendship with an ageing Gimli.

Professor Tolkien gives very little detail about Eomer's life before LOTR, so I decided to make up my own version of what his early life might have been like: pre-birth through to the beginning of the War of the Ring. There are lots of familiar names, plus a few original characters, but it is as close to canon as I can make it. Rated T for violence and mild suggestive themes.
