This is a fanfiction based of a roleplay I did on Twitter. I wrote this especially for my RP partner, Leila. quick back story: Steve loved Lilith, Lilith was in love with Steve. Steve had a girlfriend (Arielle). He brought Lilith to a safehouse when HYDRA went after her, and Steve planned to die to save her (his super soldier serum had begun to wear off, making him weak).

It was a long journey from the Hydra facility back to camp after Steve rescued Bucky and hundreds of fellow soldiers; long enough that Bucky and Steve have some time to talk and try to figure out how to pick up where they left off.

Steve thinks picking fights means being selfless, but he never realizes what happens to Bucky every time he has to step in and save him.

Steve always visits Peggy once a week, but on this particular visit he's forced to confront some truths. Set post-The Winter Soldier, oneshot, mentions of Steve/Bucky.

An AU inspired by the '40s Vincent Price film 'Shock.' Bucky can't remember how he became the Winter Soldier. Alexander Pierce is intent on Bucky staying that way. Natasha becomes increasingly suspicious and tries to help Steve save his friend.

The Winter Soldier learns what it's like to be compromised.

"I went for so long thinking you were dead, Buck. These scars prove you survived. You may think they're ugly but I think they're beautiful because they mean you're still alive." Post-CA:TWS. Bucky can't live with himself after what he's done as the Winter Soldier, and for the second time, Steve is too late to save his best friend. Bucky's death destroys him, but he does his best to keep on living. He's Captain America, after all. But given the chance, Steve would do anything to save Bucky - even mess up the timestream of the universe.

Steve Rogers doesn't remember where he's heard the story, but he can't get it out of his head. On the other hand, James "Bucky" Barnes needs to find the bridge from his dreams.

Post-Winter Soldier. Steve stumbles onto Bucky by pure luck and their journey to regain his memories is begun. It's going to be a little tougher than Steve has anticipated but he's promised to stay with Bucky 'til the end of the line...even if that means having to make a choice between Bucky and the Avengers. Rated T for now.

There is violence in their acts, the same as when they fought; he is relentless, she is mercurial. Rarely is there a bed involved, because that would mean they had the foresight to be near one.
