A/N: Who is she? Two chapters in less than 48 hours? *gasp*
Dinner at the Namikaze home was a sight to see. Naruto looked around, smiling to herself as she took in the noise generating at the dinner table. With Yumi refusing to eat and insisting on covering Naruto with what looked to be sweet potatoes and peas and babbling incoherently, Kakashi's constant teasing of Iruka and Karuma while Minato and Shikamaru spoke about the latest political scandal, and Rin and Kushina going on about how it was high time that Iruka got married or the latest Aburame scandal, it was a lively night.
Kakashi caught Naruto's eyes, raising his eyebrows. Right, of course, Kakashi was too much of a coward to bring up the subject in front of his wife and mother; therefore, it would be up to Naruto to actually bring it up. Taking a deep breath, Naruto counted down from three before forcing herself to open her mouth.
"B-BABY SHARK DO DOO DO DO DO DO. BABY SHARK DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO. MOMMY SHARK! MOMM –"
"Umm, Naruto, are you okay?" Minato asked as the entire table stopped their conversation as Naruto began to sing.
Karuma raised her perfect red eyebrows, "Yah sis, you good? Should I call an ambulance?"
"SHARK! SHARK! SHARK!" Yumi screamed in delight, wanting Naruto to continue the song.
Naruto grinned sheepishly as she lowered the volume on her phone while handing it to Yumi's freshly wiped hands so she could enjoy Baby Shark. "Well, now that I have your attention, I have a small but significant announcement to make. You see, I convinced my dear old brother to have a semi-large birthday party for my sweet niece."
Naruto watched the brows on everyone but Shikamaru's rise up as they glanced at Kakashi. "However," Naruto continued before Karuma or Rin could say anything, "it has to be a black time affair, and it has to be very exclusive, which means you can come by personal invite-only. Seeing how Yumi is the latest heir to the Namikaze name, this party will only include the top tier people of our society."
Rin and Kushina narrowed their eyes. "So, what's the catch?" Rin asked.
Grinning nervously, Naruto scratched the back of her neck. "Well, the catch is that only Shikamaru and I will plan the party. But, Kakashi knows between you and mom, it will get out of hand, so …."
"Basically, we have to hand over everything we've been working on to you." Finished her mother.
Naruto smiled sheepishly.
"Not happening!" Kushina stated, crossing her arms. "It's my first grandchild's first birthday. You can plan when it's your grandchild. This one is mine." Rin nodded in agreement.
Minato reached out to rub Kushina's back. "Sweetie listen," he stared but shut his mouth quickly when his wife glared at him.
Naruto looked over to Kakashi, raising her left brow. Sighting, Kakashi rubbed his forehead. "Umm, mother, didn't you promise me that we were having a small, simple party? So now you wouldn't be lying to your favourite child, especially since I am the first one to give you your first grandbaby."
A ring of "HEY!" was heard across the room. "SHARK! SHARK! SHARK!" Yumi called as she chimed in with her fellow aunts and uncle.
"And you knew full well that Rin and I were still going plan a party, regardless!" Kushina rebutted.
Rin narrowed her eyes, "That's right. While no offence Naruto, I don't mind you planning the party, I don't see why mother and I can't help."
Naruto raised her hand in surrender, "No, no, but you know how much my anti-social of a brother hates crowds or people. So if you're planning it, he knows it's all you'll be talking about for the next few weeks. Annd, between you and mom, the entire city would end up being invited. So why not just sit back and relax while Shika and I take care of it."
Before Rin or anyone else could raise their objections, Shikamaru spoke, "How about you each write down one aspect of the party which needs to be included in the party. I understand Yumi is important to each of you, but you all get what you want this way. Most importantly, Rin gets a big and classy birthday party Rin. Aunti Kushina has been secretly whispering about for ages?"
Iruka, who was silent till this point, spoke up, "You know, that's not a bad idea. Think about it, as long as Naruto promises to include what each of us wants for Froggy's birthday, and Kakashi promises to give us another niece or nephew soon, I think that's a good deal."
"Exactly!" Kakashi stated. "What … what? No, no more kids!"
Everyone rolled their eyes, minus Yumi and Kakashi. "Well," Naruto asked, looking at her sister-in-law and mother, "What do you think? I did my part and convinced your stubborn son, but this was his condition."
Rin and Kushina looked at each other; they had their silent communication going on. If Naruto were to honestly admit out loud, she was a little jealous of them. She loved her mother, of that there was no doubt, but she and Kushina were never as close as she'd seen her other female friend be to their mother. Instead, she was close to her father. While Naruto had no regrets, she wished that sometimes she had the same level of closeness Kushina and Rin had. Kushina had fallen for Rin the second Kakashi introduced her to the family. Ever since she and her brother tied the knot, Rin and Kushina had become even closer. Naruto only hoped that one day, she too would have such a relationship with her own mother-in-law … that is, if she ever found a decent man. Now that was a topic for another day.
"Okay." Rin said looking at Kakashi.
Naruto blinked; she did not anticipate this conversation going this easy. "Seriously?" she asked.
"Seriously?" Kakashi, Karuma and Iruka also repeated. Even they were shocked. Naruto looked at Shikamaru who shrugged his shoulders. Looking at her father she saw an amused grin on his face. 'Wait for it,' he mouthed.
"Seriously?" Kakashi repeated, this time looking at Kushina.
Rin nodded, grinning. "Seriously. I was thinking about how to tell you that I am pregnant again, but now it looks like I don't have to."
Chang!
Kakashi dropped his fork, looking shocked at Rin. Naruto looked at her parents, clearly, they both knew already. Well, it was more likely that Rin told her mother already, who had informed her dad, but damn!
"Umm, Kashi? Are you okay?" Karuma asked as she slowly poked his arms.
Splat!
Kakashi looked down at the meatball which was now lodged on the collar of his green shirt. Everyone looked at Iruka who grinned sheepishly. "WHAT THE HELL IRUKA!" Kakashi shouted as he tried to grab napkins to clean himself.
"Sorry!"
"IRUKA!"
"DAMMIT! I wish I was able to record that!"
Iruka actually looked sorry as he scratched his head. "Sorry bro," he said as he grabbed some more napkins to hand to Kakashi. "You looked like you were gonna faint, so I thought-"
"So you thought throwing food like my almost year old was the answer?" Kakashi asked as he narrowed his eyes.
Grinning, Shikamaru chimed in, "Well, think of it as practice. You'll soon have another throwing food at you along with Yumi too."
Naruto groaned as she smacked her pineapple head friend on the back. "Shika shut up!"
Kakashi rounded back at his wife, "Are you serious?"
Rin nodded her head seriously while Karuma said, "Nope, she's Sirius Black."
This time it was Minato who groaned while he smacked his face. "Karuma, honestly my dear. Not the time."
Karuma gave no heed to Minato, instead she jumped from her chair to where Rin was sitting and wrapped her arms around her shoulders, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
Rin smiled as she gave Karuma's hand a squeeze but kept looking at Kakashi. "Sorry love, but I just found out yesterday. I didn't know how to tell you, and when Iruka said to give Yumi another sibling, I thought why now. This was as good as time as any. The whole family's here and –"
Rin was cut off as Kakashi kissed her forehead, ignoring Karuma, who was still hugging Rin. "I can't say that I wanted another child now, with Yumi being so young, but each child is a blessing."
Kushina grinned as she stood up and patted Kakashi on the back. "See," she told Rin, "I told you he'd be happy." Minato, Shikamaru and Iruka also got up and walked around the table to Kakashi, patting his back and congratulating him.
Everyone looked at Naruto, who was sitting next to Yumi, who was still emersed in watching the next rendition of Cocomelon. Finally, Naruto got up, walking to Kakashi; she launched herself into his arms, sobbing. "Congratulations, Kashi!"
Kakashi frowned as he pulled away, wiping away Naruto's tears. "What's wrong?"
Naruto shook her head as she mumbled something into Kakashi's chest. Iruka, who was right next to them, laughed as Naruto continued to sob into Kakashi's chest.
"What did she say?" Minato asked, frowning as he watched his oldest daughter cry while her brothers tried to contain their laughter.
Grinning, Iruka stated, "Naruto is upset that she might not be able to love the new baby as much as she loves Yumi. She's also worried that she might love the new baby more and cause Yumi to feel jealous or unloved."
The entire family chucked as Minato pried Naruto off her brother as he tried to explain that nothing of such will happen. Despite his daughter being a young adult, sometimes it felt like she was still the small girl who would climb on his lap and fall asleep.

Shikamaru rolled his eyes as he sighed, watching Naruto turn herself into a burrito on her bed. He laid his head back onto her pillow, covering his eyes with his arm. "Stop being troublesome women. Just label your breakdown as part of your PMS."
Naruto peaked out from under her duvet, glaring at her lazy best friend. "Fuck off," she mumbled as she rolled onto his side.
"Says the woman who is now curled up next to me," Shikamaru replied.
"And you're the one who is sleeping next to me on my bed in my bedroom," the blond stated.
Sighing again, Shikamaru muttered, "troublesome." Finally giving up, he lowered his arm, letting the light flutter through his eyelids; he pulled himself up and leaned against the bed. "Really, Naruto, it's okay to feel conflicted. So many mothers feel like that when they have their second child. It's a new experience that evokes new emotions. Plus, your period is only a few days away, so your hormones are most likely more sensitive right now."
Naruto glared at Shikamaru again. Why were she friends with him again? Oh right, because he was one of the few people outside who truly understood her and had been by her since they met in elementary school. Both of them were extremely smart in their own ways. It was a bond of kinship which never went away. Naruto poked her head out from under her duvet and paid her head on his thighs. "You think now that Kashi is having another baby, he'd let me adopt Yumi?"
Shikamaru laughed as he pulled her hair behind her ear. "I think he'd let you adopt her regardless, especially if it means that you'd never date or look at another man."
Naruto laughed. Yes, that was true. Between Kakashi, Iruka and her father, dating someone worthy had been hard. They all hated her previous boyfriend. The only reason Shikamaru was allowed to be in her room so freely was that he had done some sort of frat house initiation promising that he was only Naruto's friend, and if he even thought about look at her differently, he would have to brand his behind with the Namikaze logo, literally, or so Shikamaru said when Naruto asked him. Shikamaru had never actually told her what her brother made him do, only that it was way too troublesome and something he would not ever repeat. While Kakashi was scary upfront, Iruka was the one who mastered psychological torture, and Naruto had no doubt that Kakashi let Iruka be the mastermind over the initiation.
"So, what do you want to do for the fundraiser, now that we have the green sign?" Shikamaru asked.
"Well," Naruto said as she relaxed her eyes, letting the feeling of Shikamaru's hands comb through her hair comfort her, "I would say we get her and have her work her magic over the guest list. This way, we can get the maximum about of money raised with a limited number of invites."
Shikamaru nodded his head; it was a sound plan. He grabbed Naruto's phone from her side table and sent a quick text to Karuma. Pausing, he sent another text to Kakashi. While Kakashi could rivel Shikamaru in laziness, he was a genius for a reason, and his input would only aid their project.
A few minutes later there was a knock on Naruto's door.
Knock, Knock.
Without waiting for an invitation, Karuma entered the room. Raising her brows at the scene, she made no comment as she bounced onto the bed. "Sup, what are you two up to now? Also, what's wrong with Naruto?"
"Her period is a few days away," Shikamaru answered.
"EXCUSE ME!" Naruto grumbled as Karuma laughed. "Well, that explains the scene at dinner," she said as she pulled her long red hair into a top bun.
Knock, knock.
"Enter!" Karuma yelled as she wiggled herself next to Shikamaru.
Mildly annoyed at having his personal space taken up by the Namikaze sisters, Shikamaru asked, "You both mind?"
"Nope!" came a chimed answer.
Kakashi entered the room, taking a look at the scene on Naruto's bed. Rolling his eyes, he asked, "What do you both see in him? Anytime I see you both near this lazy idiot, you're always draping yourselves on him."
Ignoring the insult, Shikamaru rolled his eyes. At this point, he had become an honorary member the Namikaze family. While he had a large extended family, but without any siblings, Naruto and her siblings had become like his own. "Your sisters seem to think that I make a good Squishmallow."
"Where's Rin and Yumi?" Naruto inquired. It was well past 11 p.m. Her mother had convinced both her sons to stay the night, insisting that they continue the celebration of the new family addition over breakfast.
"Thankfully sleeping, I was finally able to Yumi to go to bed, no thanks to her aunt who gave her heaps of sugar so close to her bedtime." Kakashi retorted.
Naruto grinned sheepishly.
"What, no celebration of becoming a father a second time Kakashi?" Shikamaru asked with a lewd grin.
"Eww!" Both Naruto and Karuma said as Naruto pinched Shikamaru's thigh, and Karuma snacked his arm.
Laughing, Kakashi shook his head. "Not tonight, but I plan on leaving Yumi here over the weekend, so Rin and I can properly celebrate.
Another round of eww was heard. "What? You don't want my daughter to stay this weekend? I'm sure I can get Iruka to look after her then." Kakashi said with a smirk.
Karuma threw an actual Squishmallow at Kakashi. "We just don't want to hear the dirty big bro."
Grinning, Shikamaru looked at Karuma, "Well, how do you think Yumi came to be? Or the new baby?"
"IVF, of course, you bastard," Naruto grumbled as she finally shed the duvet off her and sat up, crossing her legs and grabbing the Dog Squishmallow Karuma threw at Kakashi to rest cuddle and rest her chin on.
"What she said," Karuma echoed.
Kakashi chuckled as he sat next to Naruto, grabbing the Squishmallow from her. "Is there a reason you called? I was just about to convince Rin to try the Bearing the Scepter position when you texted."
Three pairs of eyes blinked before Naruto grabbed a pillow from her bed and smacked him in the face. "Kakashi, we do not need to hear about what you and my sister-in-law get up to, so kindly shut the fuck up!"
"Speak for yourself," Shikamaru said, "tell me more about this bearing the scepter."
This time it was Karuma who grabbed another pillow and hit Shikamaru. "Excuse me, have you all forgotten that I am only seventeen? You two could get arrested for talking about sex in front of a minor."
This time Naruto, Shikamaru and Kakashi rolled their eyes. "Oh, like you haven't read more erotic stuff on the Kindle of yours," Shikamaru muttered.
Naruto laughed. That was true; most of her erotic book recommendations were from Karuma, not that she'd ever admitted it, especially not to her brothers. It was bad enough they knew about Karuma's reading preferences. "Can we get back to why we called them? We have a fundraiser to plan."
Karuma raised her perfect brows, "Fundraiser?" she asked. Naruto filled her in on the plan for Yumi's birthday. While Naruto was shyer, her sister was the exact opposite. She liked the spotlight, and she had connections everywhere. So it wouldn't come as a surprise to her if her father hired her to be part of his PR management as soon as she hit adulthood – that is, if Naruto didn't get to her first. There was no gossip or news that Karuma didn't know first hand, and she would be the perfect person to help manage the guest list and make this birthday party the talk of the town. And if all went to plan, by the end of the Yumi's party, even those who weren't invited to the party would end up donating for the cause. What was the saying? Right, killing many birds with one stone.
Soo? Whatcha think? Leave a comment.
