"As of his last check up, Mr. Mouto's chest has fully healed from the trauma of yesterday's shooting. Without the video and pictures taken, one would think the whole event staged even," Dr. Koshin explained. He pulled out a series of x-rays from the file, but he didn't bother putting them up against the light. "We literally cut open his chest, were forced to break his rib cage just to reach and work on his heart. But to look at him now? You'd think something else put him in his coma, because there isn't a single mark on him."

Then with an almost brooding, suspicious look in his eye, as he glanced at the group. "Or on anyone else here for that matter with an open wound."

'Kaibas ego multiplied by 3.048 meters, equals range of healing? So if Kaiba's ego is x I just need to know the measurements of the size of the the hospital to know how far Kaiba's healing ability goes.' Bakura realized as he sat there with his best innocent bunny expression.

"Wait... You cut him-" Jounouchi began when an grossly unwelcomed sob escaped him. Anzu started as her head whipped around to look at him.

Dr. Koshin balked at the sob, before lowering his own gaze, 'they're high schoolers. That was too harsh.' "My apologies... Perhaps I have started off on the wrong foot on this..." He cleared his throat and took a calming breath. As the teenagers struggled to give him their undivided attention after he had started off by describing open heart surgery. He ran a tired hand across his own face as he tried to remind himself of bedside manners and empathy.

"As you're undoubtedly aware, Mr. Mouto was air lifted to this hospital after being shot two times. I was called in to perform the surgery. The bullets had been able to pierce the leather vest he had been wearing and sheared the buckles to said vest. His heart had sustained multiple lacerations due to the buckle shards being ripped against it. The damage being quite substantial, however; we were also crippled by the lack of updated information. Our anesthesiologist had only the old records regarding Mr. Mouto's weight and applied drugs to accommodate someone physically much smaller. However; as we're all aware. Now. Mr. Mouto has grown a considerable amount..."

"Yes... He had to get a new card and everything for school, I guess maybe we all assumed that it would carry over to medical records... We all..." Anzu shook her head, "We all assumed Kaiba would do his announcement and life would move forward as it had. Not with a sniper..." her voice drifted into silence.

"Unfortunately he didn't stay under as long as we needed, he started waking up on the table and his movements only exacerbated the injuries. The tears began growing, and we were unable to stop the ble..." Dr. Koshin paused as the young woman began to cover her ears. Darken spots began to form on her lap causing him to let the rest of the description stop. "As it is, we couldn't keep up with his injuries and he seemingly passed away on the table. Leaving us with Lord Kaiba, and his miraculous whatever that brought Mr. Mouto back to life."

The funeral levels of quiet in the office only grew after that.

Dr. Koshin looked at the five teens and tried to figure out who the leader of the group would be. It was probably normally Mr. Mouto given Lord Kaiba's lack of friends, but there had to be a second in command to take over. The brown haired guy looked to be one of Shin's patients from the bombed game shop months ago. If that was the case, he wouldn't probably be able to hear what anyone was saying at the moment.

Or maybe he could.

But even if he could, he didn't appear to be striving for the position of leader.

"Yes well, we were fortunate enough to have been rounded up to attend the announcement at the time. So it was easy for us to arrive here in a group, but not in time to really see what happened," Bakura began. "Honestly we were taken aback by the news when we arrived. As well as the news about what was going on through out the hospital, which has also been interesting."

"Yes well, we had a number of people who have been suddenly blessed with restored health, and vitality which has raised questions. My fellow surgeons now have patients who have healed from their experiences in much the same way as Mr. Mouto. While we are left without any understanding as to why, and a number of news sources wanting to know more about Mr. Mouto and Lord Kaiba's involvement in this miracle." Dr. Koshin pointed out for the group, but he finally focused his gaze on the white haired teen. Maybe because of the white hair sticking out so much, or because he kept leading with questions.

"I wish there was something we could tell you that would help... As it is we're just as lost and confused as you are about the matter. Though... what will you be doing regarding the news agencies? Such invasive interrogations will surely put Yugi at risk, Kaiba has security at home but Yugi..." Bakura asked, and as the one who spoke up.

Dr. Koshin then locked on to the 'leader' of this group, it seemed a little off, with his passive posture and polite wording. Especially when Mr. Mouto showed up in a leather vest... Mr. Mouto looked like he was in a gang, and young Bakura looked like he should have been in a book club. In fact everyone didn't look half as dangerous as Mr. Mouto did, despite the rude style of talking that the blond kid used.

"Well, as you easily found your way to Mr. Mouto, clearly not enough." He flipped open the file for Mouto's case on his desk. "I've spoken to his father's personal assistant."

Everyone lifted their heads up at that, even the brown hair kid in the back. 'He would have been here when Lord Kaiba's actions took effect. So he 'can' hear...'

"His personal assistant?" Anzu repeated as she boggled over the statement. 'I knew he had one, but... how could he just be so cold as to have his 'assistant' call to check on Yugi? I realize this is too much of a shock but...'

"Mr. Mouto has gone through a great deal of loss in this past year as I'm sure all of you know. His personal assistant conveyed Mr. Mouto's concern and asked for the status of the young man."

"That's it? I've never met him, he's always been away for work. The only time I ever knew of Yugi seeing his father was when he was on stopovers between trips. How could he be so..." Anzu demanded, as she leaned over in frustration. She stared at Dr. Koshin as though he had all the answers, and yet all he could give was a sympathetic look.

"I understand your frustration and shock, I felt much the same way. However; it was explained to me that my patient had sent a letter explaining the circumstances..." If Dr. Koshin leveled a flat unamused expression on the teenagers in his office.

But their expressions ranged from neutral shock to disbelief, save for their current leader, who just had this resigned, long suffering expression. "So you see I'm in a bit of a bind here... Clearly that shooting wasn't staged, I very much did put my hands in Mouto, Yugi's chest. But I would greatly appreciate an explanation for what happened yesterday."

"We all would sir. However; the one person who could do that is currently in a coma," Bakura answered, his tone quiet, frank and mutely tired. "Whatever he came up with, he didn't share the details with us," Bakura explained. 'Well not everything, so apparently he worked to keep his father out of our hair. Which given he's in a coma, its safe to assume that he was also worried that his father might pull the plug on life support.'

"Which brings me to my next subject," Dr. Koshin continued, with the quiet resignation that he wasn't going to get these kids to tell him. Just one look at them and it was clear they were just as much grasping at straws as he was. "Lord Kaiba himself."

"He was in class today, but he was quiet and we could not get him to interact with us. Though in truth we never could in school to start with." Bakura noted quietly, while he heard the sound of outside speakers calling for doctors reminded him. Reminded all of them that there was a world outside this small office bubble.

But Dr. Koshin...

"Well I called Lord Kaiba at his office today to both check on him, as it was incredibly traumatic. I am not in the field to help trauma victims, however; I do have resources. Only for Lord Kaiba to be utterly unaware of who I am or what I was even talking about. Upon what little questioning I was allowed to give before he hung up on me. It appears that he has a script in his head of what he expected to happen and is running off 'that'. Rather than what actually happened."

He expected shock, but the dismay and sorrowful expressions that he saw wasn't something the doctor expected. Then again, "I suppose you forget some times that he's as old as you, despite his reputation or wealth, he's a teenager. Brilliant but clearly with a great deal of trauma of his own that has never been dealt with. Its not unheard of for someone to respond in such a manner when exposed to such intense trauma."

'You can say that again, despite not knowing just how much trauma Kaiba's been through.' Malik thought to himself, unable to voice that his brother and sister were both trying to help Kaiba deal with his issues. "Will Yugi be safe? That guy who tried to kill Kaiba, was he caught? I'm sure no one wants him to try and take another shot at either Yugi or the Kaiba brothers."

"Yes, we got confirmation that he was arrested yesterday and is currently in jail. While I don't know details, I do know enough to say that Yugi is mostly safe. Granted whoever hired the gunman is still at large... which makes the news outlets all the more problematic..."

Dr. Koshin sighed as he sat back in his chair finally, letting the weight pull him down. "We can't afford to have you just wandering into the hospital like you own the place. I'm sure you understand, for security its safer to have you register first. We never released the names regarding Mr. Mouto's miraculous healing by Lord Kaiba's hands. However; they were the only two celebrities of any sort here at the time. It was natural that people would associate such over the top spectacles to happen because of celebrities."

'And they're absolutely right, they have a pair of Egyptian Gods roaming the streets. Things look to be getting ready for fireworks,' Bakura thought. Unsure if he should feel comfortable knowing that with the right prayers he could very well get a God to answer them. Or just start laughing at the absurdity his life had become.

"I wish there was something I could say to this... I know that, as someone who got exposed to Kaiba's healing stunt... I'm incredibly grateful for it. I can hear again, walk again, I can only imagine the scope of patients and their suffering that Kaiba healed yesterday. But I got hurt because someone bombed Yugi's grandpa's shop. Now there's a rumor spreading that Kaiba can mass heal people, the hospital's going to be in danger won't it?" Honda asked as he looked about at the backs of the heads of his friends. With Dr. Koshin nodding at his words as well, even if Honda skirted around the edge of what the group knew and couldn't share with the doctor.

"Could... Could Yugi be moved to Kaiba mansion?" Anzu asked earning a surprised look from the others.

"What? Wouldn't that be a money bags question?" Jounouchi asked, his voice a bit raw and scratchy. But at least he was better under control than he was at the start of this meeting.

"I'm sure he has the resources to make one room in his mansion able to support the machines needed for life support equipment. But Mr. Jounouchi is right..."

"Ew... 'Mr'... makes me feel like an old man," Jounouchi interrupted as he shuddered.

"... But at this point I don't think Lord Kaiba is in any state to make such a decision. He can't even explain what he did or recall that he did it," Koshin shrugged in answer. 'He probably fends off would be buy outs and accusations about being too young for the position all the time. Dealing with an assassin though...' "At the most I can see about having security placed around Mr. Mouto's room, but there's not much else I can do."

At that moment further west where the day was still in full effect, a pair of men sat on either sides of a different desk. It was cluttered with an assortment of files and reams of paper. A calendar was underneath all of that with dates schedules written in their own blocks. The phone was on DND so that the pair could continue studying the pictures they had amassed.

"Who would have thought star crazed fan girls would, and were, actually taking pictures of the real Yugi." The man in question was dressed in a professionally casual style, with khakis and a button on shirt. As was expected given he was the one sitting behind the office desk. Along the walls of his office were degrees and pictures, recognizing his completed education and training, or displaying real estate that he broke ground for his company.

"Yeah, and its unnatural to, he's not even just growing and still looking like a 10 year old either. He looks his age, or as close to 'his age' as Asians normally hit." Across the desk was another man, he was in full business attire. Black suit, white button on shirt, a silk red green tie that hung down his neck, shoes polished and buffed. With years carried easily on his shoulders, he gestured at the file with a speculative expression. "And he survived that shooting, if the rumors are true than either he or that kid from the gaming company did it."

"Ah yes, Seto Kaiba, but if he had such a power, he's adopted, why not use that power to save his parents?" The first man noted as he flipped the file closed. "Think that maybe Yugi gave him that power?"

"Its possible, a god could lift a mortal up. Looks like my 'drinking buddies' crossed the wrong boss." The guest noted with a shake of his head in good natured amusement, "well I guess I won't be seeing them for a while."

"They got nailed?"

"You know what they do to you in Japan for having a gun and trying to assassinate someone? No, plan was if he failed he has to take the fall, but they didn't count on the guy failing because 'someone else' took the bullets." He pulled back his sleeves to glance at the time on his diamond encrusted watch he wore. "They aren't smart for these types of plans, its just a matter of time now for the police to come looking for them."

"Should we put something together to thank them for their help in giving us some definitive proof of Yugi's true nature?" the dirty blond asked with a raised eyebrow.

"No, we can't afford to have their dirt traced back to us, besides they have more important things to deal with. Kaiba has hired contract killers himself, so its perfectly reasonable to expect they'll be dead soon if the cops can't find them."

"So we should move on to the next step and prepare for the step after that..." the man nodded, "I've got some people in Egypt 'scouting' for a venture, how goes your research into Pegasus' history in Egypt?"

"As well as to be expected, as insane as he behaved he apparently commanded enough loyalty that they're not talking. Going to have to find another method to get into his personal affects," the man replied leaning his head against his knuckles. "Why does all of the things we need have to be in very strict countries..." He groaned in frustration as his host shrugged in solidarity.

"Yeah, 'find the Dark Magicians' Tablet', is all well and good to instruct me to find. But what am I looking 'for'? Its clearly not above ground, there's nothing standing save the Vatican vaults where the Tablets could be to start with. And our friends' report stated that the Tablets are some of the 'only' things the Church couldn't get their hands on."

"And your 'partner' in this is still on probation for that last stunt he did to try and help speed this up." Black suit shook his head at that, recalling the bombing that had missed its mark. 'Should have bothered checking to make sure Yugi was 'home' before he used a bomb of all things...'

"'Partner', there's a word, guy won't say more than five words to me if not pushed. Guy doesn't seem to grasp the concept of 'team work'. I told him bombs were a bad idea, might work in the Middle East. Japan is 'not' the Middle East."
