Alex has come back to England when living in San Fransisco didn't work out. He is still working for MI6, and now has to go on a mission with cherub. May have k-unit, definitely Ben.

Alex is being hunted by an operative from 'Help Earth.' James is being hunted from a member of 'SCORPIA.' So it's only natural for the minds of MI6 and CHERUB to make them work together to protect each other. But, wherever the two spies go, trouble is soon to follow.

MI6 owe MI5 a favour, MI5 have a mission which requires protection. The result; Alex Rider shows up all the Cherubs. I mean Alex Rider is leant out to work with the Cherubs. In this Alex was recruited at 11 like the Cherubs and is now 14. Add into that possible additional training at Brecon Beacons for the cherubs before the mission couple in K unit - all hell will break loose!

After a stretch of captivity Blunt decides Alex needs a little more training and where better to do it than the famed Hendersons Academy for Sports and Language, aka. CHERUB

The Pleasures are dead and Mrs. Jones doesn't know what to do with him.
