Rose Tyler met Alec Hardy the first day she went to a new school when she was just 13. Her mother had followed a boyfriend to Paisley in Scotland and said they were staying. Rose daren't speak at first but Alec was different. He became her friend, they had their first kiss at 13 but 3 years later, she was gone. This is how they found each other and got together again in 2012.

She finally gets through but even he can't save his brother. As consolation, he tells her she will meet someone in the coastal town of Broadchurch as he has learned Alec Hardy looks like them both.

Rose Tyler runs off when her mother hi-jacks hers and the Doctor's twin's wedding plans. She arrives in Broadchurch to get away from it all and meets Alec Hardy, who helps her sort out her feelings. He doesn't want to get involved with her or get her mixed up with Joe Miller's trial but his feelings get the better of him. When she leaves, will they ever see each other again?

Rose Tyler is in Broadchurch just as Alec Hardy arrives to take up his new post. They meet in the hotel bar on the night Danny Latimer is killed and go off to Rose's room just as Becca Fisher sneaks out to meet Mark Latimer. Rose Tyler has met Lee Ashworth while working as a trainee hairdresser for Claire Ripley in Sandbrook. Things start to get complicated when they move to a rented house and a young girl dies and her older cousin goes missing. Alec Hardy is in charge of the case and thinks Rose knows more than she says and offers her protection by moving her to Broadchurch after starting an affair.

Wanting a relaxing break, Rose Tyler decides to visit Broadchurch, after trying to avoid meeting a certain Alec Hardy but she has to report she's in town as part of her safety arrangements. It's almost Christmas and Alec's daughter is going to be away so he decides to risk everything and ask Rose to stay with him but it doesn't turn out quite as he expected. Set in the AU.

Rose Tyler arrives in Sandbrook when she hears 2 cousins have gone missing. She and Alec Hardy don't get on and he has a row with his wife when he sees her cheating on him and tries to book in at the same hotel but they don't have any rooms. He asks if Rose is staying there and knocks on her door. Rose then has to work with Tess without giving the game away.

Alec Hardy has been followed to Broadchurch by Lee Ashworth, the main suspect in the Sandbrook case that fell apart. Lee sees 11 yr old Danny Latimer with his friend's dad, Danny recognises him so Lee chases after him then accidentally strikes him with a boat oar and kills him instantly. Lee then finds the perfect scapegoat but Rose Tyler comes to town and spoils his plans.

Alec Hardy 'bumps' into Rose Tyler in a card shop as they are both getting Christmas cards and Alec takes a chance and asks her out. They spend the night together and both misunderstand about it being just one night. They meet again a few weeks later at a charity event, Rose asks him to their Christmas party and seven months later, Alec finally gets a transfer - to Broadchurch.

Alec Hardy has gone for his pacemaker operation after sneaking out of court. Rose Tyler has been attending a conference in Exeter but is taken ill, needing her appendix taking out. They are both in the recovery room, Alec saying he had been attending the Broadchurch trial but now, they are both discussing being called to the other side when they think they've died.

It's been six months since the close of Danny Latimer's murder; six months since an intricate web of lies caused Ellie Miller's world to come tumbling down. But now she will face a whole new set of elaborate lies that will turn her world upside down. Jack Harkness is in town.

Rose Tyler and her mother are taking a cheap late break and Rose decides to enter. Alec Hardy is put in charge of overseeing the event but doesn't know he's part of the prize - he has to dine with the winner and present the prize money.

Alec Hardy is dismayed the circus has come to Broadchurch and he and his DS are put in charge of making sure they comply with local laws. He watches as a blonde trapeze artist is practising, who is Rose Tyler, the owner's daughter and he thinks it may not be so bad after all. Things go wrong though while she's trying to impress him after Rose falls in love with him.
