Momonga entered the room.

"Follow me" He ordered.

For the first time in weeks (weeks?) my body moved,

Outside of the stone hall the corridor looked luxurious and clean, unbelievable so. There was not a single particle of dust or dirt, not even a little crack in a wall.

We walked for a while and stopped at some form of gate, the lich interacted with his interface and teleported us. I continued to follow him until we reached a giant door.

Ah.

Wonderful.

The library of Nazarick stood in front, thousands upon thousands of books stored on their shelves. Giant white pillars holding the structure, two red carpets complemented the floor of the main corridors. The library is tinted in pale green and white. Such a beautiful place.

I followed him for a few more minutes, amazed by the gorgeous architecture and the many lich's holding books, until we reached a big wooden table.

"Sit down."

The overlord left me in a wooden chair and focused on his flying interface.

That's a nice change of pace, a beautiful library, undead servants and pieces of art. Well, I'm sure that I will have too many hours to appreciate it, for now let's focus on remembering the series again. I can't forget these precious memories.

Can I even forget something? It's not like I'm a human anymore. Hm.

"There we go." Momonga said, closing his interface, "Until I finish your equipment and room you can pass your time reading in Ashurbanipal."

As he said it, some lich's started to move, putting dozens of books on the table.

"You always liked to read." Well, I do, but you're not talking about me.

"The Genesis of Yggdrasil"

My body started moving again, opening the first of what I expect to be thousands of books. My hands automatically changed the pages after some tens of seconds, my eyes moved from line to line totally desynchronized from my real reading.

It's better to be too slow than too fast I suppose. Still infuriating though, it's really uncomfortable to read like this.

"The World Tree YGGDRASIL had its own vast wealth of leaves get eaten by the Devourer of the Nine Worlds, causing them to fall one after the other until only nine were left. These nine leaves from the World Tree were the previous incarnations of the Nine Worlds: Asgard, Álfheim, Vanaheim, Niðavellir, Midgard, Jötunheim, Niflheim, Helheim, and Múspellsheim."

If all of this will become real in some years, the lore of the game will be correct or it's still just cool gibberish? Well, no one but me to find out. It's not like I have something better to do instead of reading.

Momonga put his hand on the top of my head.

"I will sleep now, until next time."

And as my now creator, the Overlord of Ainz Ooal Gown left this reality, I was alone again.

Just me, some soulless NPCs, and a library full of books that I fear will finish.

Maybe the new world is just a virtual reality. But a simulated world that is indistinguishable from reality, is really virtual or just another form of reality…

Food for thoughts.

I have been reading for a while now, hopefully all this information is actually useful.

I mentally sighed.

In the worst case, I will be able to fulfill my role as an NPC, whatever it may be…

At least the devs didn't allow erotic books, I really don't want to start skipping hundreds of books because of two perverts siblings.

Thank you, shit devs.

I don't remember my name, nor do I know my new one.

Hm.

So I can forget things.

"Ow she's a cutie." I heard someone behind me talking. "I knew that you would create a cute loli someday Tabula-san."

"She's Momonga NPC Peroroncino-san, not mine, and she's not a loli, she's just short." Replied a familiar voice.

"Whatever you say man, we both know the truth." A winged birdman appeared in front of me, looking at my face, "To think that Momonga from all peoples created a hime-sama, eh, I did not see that coming."

The birdman has white feathers, four wings and bronze armor on his hips, arms and legs. A headgear of the same color that resembles a very short plague doctor mask was equipped.

"Well it's supposed to be his sister character, she liked royalties, warfare, occultism and magic. Good taste in books too, I talked to her once about lovecraft and she was pretty knowledgeable."

"Poor Momonga, hearing these things from both of you everyday. The guy couldn't get a break." The birdman walked away from my face, "So, she's an eldritch being right?"

Tabula, now in my peripheral vision, nodded. "Lore-wise, she's a monster that eats knowledge, but she has eaten so many forbidden tomes that she became something more." The spawn of cthulhu opened an interface, "but honestly, her class is as OP as [Ancient One], really, where in hell did Momonga-san find these things."

"If I recall correctly it was her that theorized that secret class. If there's [Eclipse] to a necromancer maybe there's something to other archetypes; like a corrupted being that threw away her humanity while seeking for more forbidden knowledge about the great ones." Peroroncino put his armored hand on his chin. "It make sense, this allow role-players to stand better against meta slaves."

"Hm, I suppose." Tabula agreed.

"Hey, what are you two doing here?" A feminine voice said. "Ow she's a cutie. I knew that you would create a cute loli someday, Tabula-san."

Peroroncino laughed.

Tabula sighed.

I sighed too.

"Magnum Opus"

"The Origins of Magic"

"I died and reincarnated as a bike in a fantasy world."

"Helheim Bestiary, Vol 3"

"The leader of the yakuza is a young girl?!"

My clothes changed.

I believe that this is my 'divine equipment'.

The clothing consists of a puffy, long-sleeved, knee-length dark gray dress with a white underskirt. Layered above the underskirt is a black overskirt divided in the middle, split into five sections. The dress has a white mandarin collar fastened with a red cloverleaf knot, as well as a detailed black corset-like belt studded with gold. And the legwear consists of translucent dark gray tights and a pair of knee-high, lace-up, black boots.

There's also a large dark gray hat inspired by traditional Chinese headwear.

It looks like something that a military asian princess would use.

"Do you like it?" Momonga asked.

I like it.

"PvP for Dummies"

"Chinese classic recipes"

"The 10 circles of mana"

"The Great Tomb of Nazarick"

"I have no mouth, but I must scream"

Oh, that one is fun.

I'm following my creator to the throne room, he said that it's time to present me formally.

Creator? He's my creator, my father, my lord, my benefactor or my jailer?

Hm.

Yes.

"Ah, so that's her." A plant like monster constructed of green thick vines said. "Is everyone taking their NPCs too?"

Momonga nodded.

We entered an enormous throne room.

In the center of this room that was tinted gold and silver, was a flight of stairs about 10 steps high. Atop these stairs was a gigantic throne, carved out of a single piece of crystal, whose back was high enough to touch the ceiling above it. A huge red banner hung down behind it, proudly displaying a symbol that I thought to be of the guild.

It's... it's imposing, I like it.

The room contains dozens of inhabitants, players and NPCs, reunited here. A circus of monstruos aberrations showing their monstrous toys, for I knew that even the beings that looked as a beautiful human here are creatures from nightmares; I knew, because I'm one too.

But I did recognize some of the NPCs, Albedo, Demiurge, Shalltear, Cocytus, Sebas and others. If there was some doubt in my mind about all of this being a weird coincidence, it's gone now.

"So, what's her name Momonga?" Someone asked.

"Arllin Ecclesiastes. The imperial princess." Said Momonga with a hand on top of my naked head. "The researcher and heiress of Nazarick, the one who knows a million things and the Lord of The Mysteries."

Arllin. And it should be Lady of The Mysteries. Wait-

"She's not the strongest, the smartest or even the wisest of Nazarick; but she's the one who knows the most, and that always wants to know more. Her growing intellect, power and wisdom shall one day be the peak of all beings."

Ah shit.

"She has the disposition of a future empress, a little rude and arrogant, but otherwise almost perfect manners and great diligence."

How in hell will I act like someone so competent, I am not a fucking genius. Shit.

"Indeed, she can't even pretend to be something different."

Fuck you fuck you. Shit, shit.

"Arllin cares not for granting mercy to outsiders, even the ones that she may approve of, like a strong hero or good scientist, are only stepping stones for her progress. She, however, takes great care for the inhabitants of Nazarick."

I sighed deeply in my mind.

"She also likes headpats."

Well…I do.

"The Secrets of YGGDRASIL"

"Military and Socioeconomic of the 20th century"

"Quantum studies and discovers"

"The Lusty Argonion Maid-"

What. The. Fuck.

I ignored the book, and got back to mentally preparing for my acting.

"This is your new room." The Overlord said.

The luxurious room tinted in black, gray, red and gold was divided into a few smaller rooms. In the middle there was a wooden writing desk and many maids walk freely cleaning or carrying scrolls, crystals and papers to sizable cabinets that occupy the majority of the room space. The maids looked equal in appearance: short petite ladies, white hair and skin, deep blue eyes; they all looked professional, formal, in their uniform and had a ring on their left hand.

The door on the left leads to the bedroom, a big black bed occupies half of the space and many different pieces of furniture, like couches, wardrobes and bookshelves, the rest.

To the right I have a personal library painted in black and white, while a lot smaller than Ashurbanipal, it still is respectable in size. The black shelves contained not only hundreds of books and scrolls, but also magical ingredients. I could see glowing chandeliers reflecting in the white floor, bringing illumination to the plants, metals, crystals, and bones; it was not only a library but a small storage too.

Every part of this small house is filled with magical items, inscripted skulls, glowing weapons, floating candles and cups, even the carpets felt magical, and dark light balls illuminated where the candles couldn't.

In the back of the major room there was an archway as tall as the room showing a magical laboratory.
On the left side of the archway there is passageway to a big circular bathtub and on the right side a maids room, where the servants could retire from their duties.

The laboratory was the biggest room of this complex, containing dozens of objects that I barely recognize from some books. It looked like the kind of place where magical research is conducted, being filled with arcane artifacts and tools.

"Hm, I think that a routine where you move from your room to Ashurbanipal to read, and one for you to fulfill your duties as a princess. Ah, you need to research, sleep…" He continued his bragging for a while.

So, this will be my future room (for now it's just decoration). Eh, they may be somewhat losers in real life but these guys clearly had artistic and drama talent.

More importantly, my amount of time reading will be diminished now. Instead I will spend more hours acting like a fish in an aquarium, a useless decoration moving in recognizable patterns. It's not like I want to be reading so much but at least it is some amount of mental stimulus, better than thousands of hours standing still for sure.

But what I want wasn't important for a while now, and it will not be for some years.

"I need to create the maids script too, is the ring…oh it's there, good. Arllin touch could kill them."

I stopped.

My touch can do what?

"Complex carbon molecules and the silicon equivalents"

"The prince"

"Genome: The Secrets of Evolution"

"I am a spider so what?"

"Hahahaha, we did it." The guild members are partying. "We showed these idiots who's the boss here."

"Not even a thousand of them can defeat Ainz Ooal Gown."

"Look at this fucking loot, it was so profitable that I want another assault."

"Maybe we should invade other guilds now."

"Great idea Momonga-san."

They all look so happy, having so much fun and being so full of joy.

"Shit, a divine sword too."

"When will these stupid devs put us as the number one of YGGDRASIL"

I kinda want to be there.

"Guide to Tier Magic"

"The Lord of The Rings"

"Helheim Bestiary, Vol 3"

"A Spear? Why not a sword or better yet a staff? She's a magical caster. A magical caster, she can't even hold spears." Asked Touch Me, the silver knight.

Momonga made a snort sound, "She hated swords, you wouldn't believe how many times I heard her complaining about 'Unrealistic exhibition of medieval warfare' and 'This guy only win because these idiots are using a sword, if they had a actually useful weapon, like a halberd or a pike, he would be dead in the first fight.'" He shook his head, "Also, 'Samurais don't even use a katana in a real fight, it's a shit weapon to kill peasants, where's their naginata.'"

"And besides, it's not like Arllin is a combat focused NPC, most floor guardians would stomp her. I will give her a staff too but spears fit better, fortunately princesses can hold spears, maybe for ceremonial role-play but I'm not complaining."

"Just make a staff that looks like a spear then. Her magical damage output can be top tier if you give her a good weapon."

"Eh, I did not think about this. Well, I already finished the spear anyway, it will be two weapons now."

Momonga occasionally talks with me about his problems, I am his sister's grave after all.

"I know that they are occupied but… how can they just… leave."

The guild is starting to decay, some players have already quit the game. This is the best thing that I have heard in years (it felt like decades).

I am so excited. Soon I will not only be able to cast magic (magic!) but to move and talk too, I will start researching for real, discovering the secrets of this universe, becoming stronger and an adequate heiress of Nazarick. I will be able to play with my toys and will make Momonga-sama proud too; Maybe I will even make friends with the people of Nazarick!

Wait.

S-since when I desire to please Momonga, and to play with toys. I-I was not so childish, neither did I want to be a good heiress for anything but my survival. I can understand craving for friends and social interaction, I've been alone for too long in my mind, but that isn't it. And I truly want these things.

Shit.

Or years of starving for any real human interaction degraded my mentality and gave me a stockholm syndrome for Momonga or my backstory has something about me acting childish sometimes, and I've been a NPC for years now. It's probably a mixture of both. What more has changed? I will start to hate humans, to seek torturing other people? Will I become as monstruos as the inhabitants of this tomb in my head too?

Okay, I need to think. Would I still kill anyone here for my survival? Yes I would. Good. Disobeying my creator for my benefit? Sure. Good, good, I'm not becoming a mindless NPC, a slave, just a different individual. With some luck I will gain control of myself before my mind gets even more distorted.

After all hope is the last to die.

But is the one who suffers the longest.

I do think sometimes about killing Momonga and getting Nazarick, I even dream about destroying Nazarick. There's no denying that I have resentment towards these players. I may have come to terms with it now, but they are corrupting my mind and already did it to my body. The fact that they don't even know about the suffering casted upon me only makes it more infuriating.

(Lovecraftian monster or not, I'm really tired of being a prisoner of my own body.)

But that would be stupid. If I had malicious intentions against Ainz Ooal Gown the guild system would inform them immediately, and no one in YGGDRASIL can fight the entirety of The Tomb of Nazarick alone.

And it's not like I hate the NPCs too, they are totally innocent of my situation. I don't hate the players either, not really. It can be that the NPCs programming removed such feelings, but I believe that my gratitude towards the great power that I will hold is the cause; In any case, I don't hate them.

Even if I did want to fight Momonga I would be, as he said before, stomped by any floor guardian, let alone Momonga or the entire Tomb. I'm a bookworm and maybe a researcher, not a warrior.

So I do only think and dream, not more than foolish fantasies when I'm too tired of reading or planning.

"Helheim Bestiary, Vol 3"

The books started to repeat more frequently.

I guess that most of the library books are duplicates…

That 's sad.

6.503.456 ,6.503.457, 6.503.458…

I think that there's only Momonga-sama now, I haven't seen or gotten visited by any players in many weeks.

Even Momonga-sama doesn't visit me that often anymore.

Finally.

I was at my writing desk, filling some useless paper, when it happened. In a second I was a doll in a doll house living a doll life, in another my hand stopped moving, and I stopped writing. I was free, I could control my body, and for the first time in so, so long, I moved my eyes to see my surroundings. The maids looked alive too, nothing of the old robotic lifeless movement.

"Arllin-sama?" A maid on my left said.

Freedom is really something else isn't it? I got up from my chair ignoring the servants for now. I just stared at the back of my right hand and at my moving fingers, then closed my hand in a fist.

I could feel my strength, not only physical but magical too, an unfathomable amount of power running over my veins, so much might that make any problem seem insignificant. I put more force in my fist, so much of it that my hand started bleeding, a black blood dripping from this human shell. And I couldn't help myself but to smile.

"A-Arllin-sama, did something happen?" Asked a more frenetic maid, making me stare at her widened blue eyes, "W-we did something wrong?" All the other maids stopped their work and moved their eyes to our direction, they looked anxious and slightly fearful.

Ah, of course, they are talking to me.

I appointed the palm of my now healed hand to a naked wall, "[Twin Boosted Magic: Fireball]"

Two balls of fire almost as big as my body left a magical circle formed in front of my hand, the resulting explosion when they collapsed at the wall made the room tremble a little. The maids protected their heads with their arms, covering their faces. No one tried to talk again.

I put my right hand on my chin and my left on my back in a horizontal pose with a closed fist, contemplating the results.

My blood is black, my body is on the frail side, magic looks to work flawlessly but I need to test not only the power and effects, but also how many different spells I can cast. The theoretical limit for a level 100 is 300 spells, but I do have classes related to knowledge if I recall correctly. Ah, inventory.

A black portal appeared in front of my eyes, and as fast as it appeared it vanished.

Working well too, so I can expect most other features to work like intended. More research needs to be conducted but that can wait.

Now that I think about it, my voice is beautiful, regal, elegant but soft; a princess indeed.

"M-milady p-please, what can we do to-." Cried another maid. Well, I suppose that there's no reason to prolong this anymore.

"Stop your stuttering. " She did, "I do not like when someone stutters. You." I appoint my finger to a different servant, "Make yourself useful and start cleaning the wall. The rest of you can inspect all the rooms, I want a report accounting for all supplies and items, along with any changes on my desk in 20 minutes." They all bowed and started their jobs, running towards the library, bedroom and laboratory.

I sat on the chair, which kinda looks like a throne, and put a fist on my cheek after I leaned on it. Using my free hand I started to test some non destructive magic, while waiting to be summoned by the Lord of Nazarick.

"[Create Water], [Destruction Water], [Clean]"

I feel too comfortable in acting like a princess but that is to be expected, nothing outside of my previsions.

More importantly, the magic of these books is looking real so far. I did fear that it was all useless memorizing despite my memories from the novel.

Well, recalling my objectives from now on. Don't get discovered by Nazarick, for I cannot die and would only be put in eternal torment, I also don't believe in the Overlord's kindness when it comes down to someone habiting his sister's character. Help Momonga-sama to be a better ruler, he is inexperienced not incompetent, after all he led and maintained Ainz Ooal Gown in the top ranks for years, even after he was alone in that role.

"[Gate], [Heal], [Focus Magic]"

About not getting discovered, it's a good thing that I've become more of a mixture of the two entities as time passed rather than only someone trying to act; still, I'm not safe in my position.

I crossed my legs.

I also want to conduct a myriad of research. I'm not satisfied with my power, if I will rule this tomb in some milleniums I need to be the strongest being inside here. And in case I can do it safely, it would be good to help the humans of this world to achieve greatness. I do have humanity in high regards after all.

Now I need to talk to my brother-

"Princess Arllin?" Said a female voice in my head.

Wait what?

"Momonga-sama summoned you to the Amphitheater, the guardians are already here."

"Lady Albedo?" I asked, "Yes?" She replied.

Ah, it's just [Message], so she can only hear me when I have the intention to talk, good to know.

"I will be there. Until then." I feel the connection being closed.

It's a really interesting spell, I wonder if it's possible to alter it to implement cryptography, that would probably require another spell to do the computational tasks. So many things to do, it's almost overwhelming.

Almost, because it's infinitely better than not being able to do anything.

Well, in any case, "[Message]"

They sensed her before anyone could see her body, an unpleasant feeling filled the Amphitheater, Momonga noticed how the NPCs became more stiff. Some form of dark presence enveloped the atmosphere, and Momonga knew that any weaker being would be suffering its effects contorting on the ground.

As she came from the dark hallways, the ones who had just promised loyalty to their lord looked at her. She was a short young girl, her black ebony hair in a hime cut and glowing red eyes complemented her pale skin, but despite her beauty and elegant clothes, everyone, Momonga included, was nervous. Her face changed from expressionless to a small smile when she looked at his direction.

Umu… I didn't remember that she was so scary, is it the effects of [Ancient One]?.

"Arllin, good to see you" He said, "Sebas just finished his explanation of the surroundings of Nazarick, did you notice anything different?"

She bowed slightly to him, making her hair slide a little.

"I did. Around an hour ago some form of magic enveloped the Great Tomb of Nazarick, it was not one that I recognize nor did it have any properties of YGGDRASIL magic that I know of; It may be an unknown world item effect or something else. However I didn't know its effects, based on what you informed me we are not in Hellhein anymore?"

He nodded.

She discovered it already?

"A mass teleportation then, in any case, there were no damaged supplies in my room found, I asked my brother to investigate if any harm was caused to the treasury. So far no one was related." She pushed her hair back with her hands, "The effects of some spells seem to be different but I couldn't find one that is not working yet, I will have an initial report in some hours, but a complete one will take weeks. It looks like we are in a different plane, that would correlate to a teleport hypothesis."

Brother? She's talking about Pandora's Actor?

And why I didn't think about the treasury and other supplies, they must think that I'm incompetent and a farce now.

She put her two arms on the back, in a military pose, "Do you have any more questions for me, my Lord?"

"Not for now Arllin, good job. We seem to be teleported to some plains now."

She nodded and walked past the Guardians, standing behind Momonga on his right side.

"It's a pleasure to see all of you again too, Guardians."

"Thank you for your kind words Arllin-sama." They replied.

Momonga then delegated his orders to everyone, taking care of the administrative and security process required for Nazarick.

"Arllin, you will help Demiurge and Albedo to fulfill their roles while you are working on your research. If you can aid the others, do it too."

"As is your wish, it shall be done."

She is a good girl.

Momonga put his hand on her head, patting Arllin. It felt like he was touching silk.

"Then, you are dismissed for today. Everyone, take a break before beginning your duties. There are many things we do not know, so don't push yourselves too hard."

The Guardians nodded as one to show that they understood.

"Finally, I have a question for the Guardians. To begin with, Shalltear — what kind of person am I to you?"

"An incarnation of beauty. You are the most beautiful person in the world. Even jewels pale in comparison to your snow-white body."

Shalltear did not pause to think about her answer before she gave it. From the lack of delay in her reply, she must have been speaking from the heart.

"—Cocytus."

"One. Who. Is. Mightier. Than. All. The. Guardians. And. Deserving. Of. The. Title. Of. The. Supreme. Overlord. Of. The. Great. Underground. Tomb. Of. Nazarick."

"—Aura."

"A merciful leader with great foresight."

"—Mare."

"A, a very gentle person."

"—Demiurge."

"A wise leader who makes decisions and acts on them quickly. Truly, a man worthy of the title 'inscrutable.'"

"—Sebas."

"The one responsible for assembling all the Supreme Beings. In addition, the merciful leader who did not abandon us, but stayed by our side until the very end."

"—Albedo."

"The man who rules over the Supreme Beings, and our highest, most exalted master. In addition, the man I love most deeply."

"And finally, Arllin."

"My creator and benefactor, the Supreme Overlord that I must surpass and honor.'"

"...I see. I have heard and understand your opinions. Then, I shall hand the tasks that were once performed by my former comrades to you. Carry them out faithfully."

After seeing the Guardians genuflect once more, Momonga teleported away.

Those guys… why do they think so highly of me?

Arllin and the Guardians stared at each other.

"If you excuse me, I need to verify how the underlings will perform in our current situation. Demiurge, Albedo, Sebas, Cocytus; I will contact you four separately. Anyone can call me if my assistance is needed, otherwise, I'm occupied; do not bother me with triviality."

Like Momonga, she teleported away.

The guardians talked for a bit about Momonga power before Sebas left. Shalltear and Albedo then started arguing about marrying him.

Demiurge simply waved lazily as he walked away from the feuding pair. Cocytus and Mare took a step back as well. Nobody wanted to get caught between them.

"Really, do they have to argue over this sort of thing?"

"Personally, I would be quite interested in the result."

"What do you mean by 'the result,' Demiurge?"

"I refer to the increase in our fighting power, the future power of Nazarick, and so on."

"D-Demiurge, what do you mean?"

"Hmm…"

"I'm quite interested in knowing what our children can do for the strengthening of the Great Underground Tomb of Nazarick. Momonga-sama may already have a successor, but a spawn of him will certainly be of great aid."

"A successor? D-do you mean Arllin-sama right?"

"While. Weaker. Arllin-sama's. Presence. Was. Strong. Too."

"That surprised me, if I recall correctly she is still young and her power isn't as great yet. But again, I heard that many years ago, as expected of Momonga-sama's creation."

"Did you know about the brother Demiurge?" Asked Shalltear who had stopped fighting against Albedo.

"I didn't, maybe he was created a little while ago or Momonga-sama preferred him to be unknown."

"It's not our place to question Momonga-sama."

"We aren't Albedo, we are just internalizing the revelation."

"I. Wonder. What. Arllin-sama. Need. With. Sebas. And. Me."

"Maybe some princess stuff? You are a warrior and Sebas a butler." Said Aura.

"All right, Albedo, won't you give us our orders? There will be many things to do later on."

"Indeed, you're right. Very well. Then, let us move on to our plans for the future. Firstly-"

Arllin's appearance is similar to YunJin from Genshin Impact, but with darker colors overall. Because links are forbbiden here I will put the pixiv numbers of the fanart, just paste it in the place of any pixiv image url: 94819957
