Years ago after Oogie's second defeat Lock, Shock and Barrel still refused to give up. Jack warned them many times not to help Oogie but they didn't listen. Third time's the charm, right? That's what the trick 'r treating trio of pranksters thought...Fast forward to 16 years later. What new tricks and treats await the Skellington family? And what happened to Lock, Shock and Barrel?

Years after the infamous nightmare, once again the spirit and joy of Christmas is threatened. But this time, it is not the Pumpkin King and his good intentions at fault. Someone else is stealing away the children of the world, and Jack Skellington, alongside the other Holiday leaders, must find a way to rescue them from the monstrous Krampus and his underworld.

Sally was suddenly carrying this tiny baby inside of her, a defenceless little being that needed a mother and father. And Jack was determined to be that dad, regardless of whether he was prepared for this giant leap into fatherhood or not.

Pogey Boogie, also a boogeyman, had been living with Oogie as a father-son relationship but was locked in the basement and replaced with Boogie's Boys when proving to be too benign.
