But... what if he didn't hold back himself enough? And what if Return by Death couldn't help our hero avoiding this unfortunate situation? (WARNING: canon typical violence)

Emilia undergoes the last Trial of the Sanctuary. But, when she enters it, she is not confronted with her own future. What she sees is the far-past, present, and possible futures of a certain black-haired and nasty-eyed boy. What happens, when Emilia comes to know absolutely everything about the person that is Natsuki Subaru. And thus, will Subaru finally get his true catharsis?

After a failed assault on the Demon King, the Demon Slayers suffered many casualties. Subaru Natsuki, the Pain Hashira, was on the verge of ending it, but he failed. A month later, Subaru sees someone unexpected. A chase for answers ensues, but just before he could finish his target, he is thrown into the streets of an unfamiliar city. He meets a half-elf girl and his story begins.

Subaru, totally clueless, receives power. Power which is so incredible that the person wielding it can fight an entire army. The power to copy powers and make it his own. But Subaru doesn't know its true potential. In a new world, he masters this power and protects his loved one, feared by enemies. All this just for a half elf.

Arc 7 head-canon in which the Emilia Camp arrives in Vollachia and after the conclusion of the throne war, Emilia finally answers Subaru. note: title is my version of the sequel to arc 5 chapter 48

In an attempt to make Subaru cuter than he already is Beatrice uses a new spell that alters his appearance.

Instead of Return by Death Subaru is given an even more deadly ability. One so feared nations will tremble beneath his feet and whole cities will – "Barasu, did you track mud into the house again. Mangy Mutt!" "Woof!"

Emilia is the most beautiful girl that Subaru has ever laid his eyes on. He still tells her that all these years later.

Yasuda Toshio and Fukada Toshio are walking home from a day at the amusement park, after a quick call to Subaru. They get trasported to Lugnica and meet up with Subaru after 4 years, now they must find out why they were transported and other mysteries while they meet new friends.

In this fanfiction of Re: Zero, Emilia and Subaru both have been gifted Return by Death. If Subaru dies, Emilia will die, and they will both restart to the latest 'save point' the Witch created. The crimson hill, and the edges of Kararagi, are one of the most hostile places in the world of Re: Zero. There's more to uncover; not everything can be trusted. Not even yourself.
