The Fourth Date
Hinata came back from her trip to Kumo with the plants she'd desperately searched for. The beautiful orchids that could only be found in that part of the world were now waiting for her at her school and she was excited to work with the blossoms for her next creation.
However, she had no time to concentrate on work because preparations for the Rinnegan Gala soon intruded. With Hanabi's help, they managed to find a dress from a reliable source who knew Hinata's understated and simple taste.
The dress was everything Hinata adored, from the simple cut to the elegant style. It was a lacy, long-sleeved, midnight blue, floor-length evening gown that Hanabi had almost said no to.
"Nee-chan, it's beautiful and all, but where is the sexy?!" Hanabi had complained when her sister had tried it on.
Hinata had then turned around, smoothing over the fabric of the A-line skirt that flowed from her waist, to show her sister the backless part of the dress, exposing the creamy skin that started from her shoulder blades and ended a few inches from the top curve of her butt.
"Oh!"
And Hinata had to smile, remembering her sister's reaction, because Naruto was here to pick her up and his reaction was almost as comical.
As soon as he walked into their home and saw her, he clutched at his heart, took a few steps back, stumbling, pretending to faint. "God, Hinata, I'm so blinded by your beauty."
She laughed at his antics.
But she was nervous for tonight.
She placed a hand on his arm, not knowing how to respond to his compliment because he looked incredibly sexy in that formal tux. The black and white suit contrasted with his blond hair and blue eyes, emphasized his stature and boldly proclaimed his masculinity.
Her dress meanwhile, was understated and stylish, but upon closer inspection, he could see her silky skin through the lace.
When his hand came to rest at the small of her back, his eyes widened when he felt her skin directly at his fingertips, the absence of fabric surprising him. He couldn't resist the small caress he gave her.
She squeaked in surprise.
He smiled at her. "You look gorgeous, Hinata. This dress is absolutely beautiful, but honestly, I'm looking forward more to undressing you slowly when this event is over."
She blushed in response and he glanced quickly behind her to check something.
"I knew it!" he crowed triumphantly. Then he leaned down to her ear and said, "When you blushed just now, the skin on your back matched that same shade of pink on your face."
"Naruto!" she said with a flustered laugh.
But he only teasingly caressed her bare flesh again, making Hinata glad she'd chosen this dress.
And he kept his hand pressed to her lower back the entire time at the Gala. From the opening ceremony when he, as Hokage, gave the speech to start the evening and throughout the entire time they stood greeting the guests who filtered down the steps to the ballroom of this fancy hotel.
He stood reassuringly by her side even as she endured the stares that people aimed at her. Some were friendly, some were cold and dismissive. But mostly, they were all curious to finally see this woman Naruto had gushingly announced as his date for the ball on television.
But nobody could fault the elegance and polish of her address, the gracious way she greeted and talked to everyone.
Somehow, everyone sensed she was the perfect hostess for Konoha's Hokage, who wouldn't stop beaming at her with pride.
He looked like a little boy eagerly showing off his prize, he was that giddy and delirious. Everyone was charmed by the attentive way he leaned down whenever she spoke. Everyone approved of the way she brushed at the lock of hair that had fallen over his forehead when it got into his eyes.
Everyone, that is, except for one man who was aloofly watching Hinata with cool, assessing eyes.
Naruto knew.
The way Hinata had suddenly stiffened by his side, the softly uttered gasp she couldn't control when Toneri Ootsutsuki and his father walked into the ballroom.
It was him.
The ex-boyfriend who had hurt her.
Naruto glanced down at her suddenly pale face, but she rallied and blinked. She tried to hide her reaction as she pressed closer to him, glanced up, and smiled.
To him, her smile was strained and wobbly.
She was trying to stay calm.
He stared at this tall, lean man with ash-blonde hair and light blue eyes. Observed the way Toneri flicked a dismissive glance at Hinata as if she were an insect and resisted the urge to fly into this man's face and punch him right in the eye.
Because he still had a duty to perform.
He was still Hokage and had to remain calm and professional.
When all he really wanted to do was flare up with the full power at his disposal and beat this man to a bloody pulp.
Damn it.
He was raging.
Naruto took a deep breath, trying to control this surge of anger for a man he'd never even talked to but suddenly hated with a passion.
Though he was fuming, he tamped down his anger and focused on Hinata instead. Naruto tried to give her the courage to face her past. He didn't say anything about Toneri. He only tightened his arm around her waist and suddenly leaned down to kiss her, hoping to distract her—and himself. He didn't care that he was being openly affectionate in front of everyone, embarrassing her, himself, and anyone else who was watching.
It only mattered that Hinata was floundering under her emotions and he didn't want her to lose that sweet expression on her face.
Color flooded her cheeks. She squeaked in surprise against his lips at his unexpected move.
"Naruto!" she gasped when he pulled back. An embarrassed smile was hidden under a dainty hand she pressed to her cheek. "This is a gala! We shouldn't be kissing so publicly!"
"I'm Hokage. I can do anything I want," he said smugly, happy to see her distracted from her thoughts of Toneri.
But the bastard wouldn't let it go because he'd walked up to Hinata when Naruto had to leave her side for a moment to talk to some of the politicians who were demanding his attention. Unfortunately, this conversation with the other men was very important. They were discussing some of the policies that would affect the lives of the villagers in Konoha.
Still, though, he kept his eyes on her and watched, seething with resentment as Toneri approached Hinata.
Heart pounding, Hinata stood and waited for Toneri to approach her.
When Naruto had left, those few minutes right after made Hinata vulnerable, and something made the hair at the back of her neck stand up. That something was feeling Toneri's gaze on her, and she knew he was coming for her. He wouldn't leave something like this alone. She hated being by herself, but Naruto had his Hokage duties and needed to discuss something important with his close advisors and several high-powered politicians.
Besides, this was personal. She didn't want to involve Naruto in this mess with Toneri.
This was something she alone had to do. It was inevitable that they would meet each other again, especially since he was part of the business circles in Konoha. She just dreaded having to do it.
As usual, the expression on his face was perfectly pleasant, she noted detachedly when he was close enough.
"It's been a while, Hinata," he said as he leaned down to brush an unwanted kiss on her cheek. "You look beautiful as always. It's nice to see you again."
Hinata felt cold inside, hating the idea of being touched by him again so she took a small deliberate step back and avoided the press of his lips on her skin.
"Toneri," was all she said when she looked back at him. She had nothing else to add because she didn't want to lie and exchange platitudes with him; it was not nice seeing him again.
He backed off and then smiled, knowing exactly how much she was hating this. Toneri glanced over to where Naruto was talking with Shikamaru and the Yamanaka clan members. He brought his gaze back to her.
"Look at you, standing so smugly with your prize. You're coming up into the world, Hinata," he said. "The Hokage, huh?"
Hinata ignored his jibe and remained silent.
He was still smiling at her, that familiar insulting smirk he always wore. "Hinata, I didn't think you were the social climber type. But it makes sense that you would throw me over for him. I guess you were hoping for somebody higher up in the social scale."
As usual, he'd misread her. How she had ever thought him sophisticated was beyond her.
Toneri, simply, was a calculating, self-serving asshole who assumed that everyone was the same as him.
And Hinata was suddenly glad that she was no longer in a relationship with this man.
She shook her head. "No, Toneri, it's not what you think."
"Hmm?" he only said, the smile on his face doubtful and derisive. "Right."
"I guess you still find it hard that other men might find me attractive?" she asked.
"Yes," he admitted truthfully. "Especially that guy." He flashed Naruto a disparaging look. Then he shrugged. "But I guess there's no accounting for other people's bad tastes."
She stiffened at that. "That guy happens to be loved by the village and is rightly at the top because of the hard work he's done—which is something you wouldn't know."
Toneri's eyes briefly flared with surprise and annoyance. "Oh, so now you decide to have a personality? Now that you're fucking that incompetent Hokage?"
Hinata's temper ignited. "I don't care if you insult me, Toneri, but Naruto happens to be somebody special, somebody everyone respects because he's so easy to love. But I guess you wouldn't know anything about that, right?"
Incredibly, he smiled mockingly, his face folding into that hateful sneer. "Love? Is that—"
She cut him off with one of her own triumphant smiles, and in a voice dripping with satisfaction, said, "Toneri? You know what? I think you're just jealous because you can clearly see how much I enjoy being fucked by the Hokage—something you failed to do."
Hinata saw him open his mouth again and some instinct for preservation forced her to turn around and abruptly leave him standing where he was. She knew she was being rude and cowardly, but she couldn't listen to him insult her any more. If she'd let him, this brief skirmish could escalate into something more and he would make her remember the old hurts from the cuts he'd inflicted on her psyche.
Not only that, she didn't want to hear him sully her relationship with Naruto with his foul words—because she knew he would. Toneri was capable of such evil.
She resolutely increased her pace, putting as much distance between them, her eyes forward and locked onto Naruto's bright figure.
All she wanted was to be next to Naruto, standing beside him because she felt this was where she belonged and nowhere else.
When she reached his side, he didn't pause from talking to the people around him. Instead, he automatically reached for her hand and tucked her close to his side, his arm around her back and his hand resting on her hip.
"Yeah, Inoichi, I hear that," he was saying to the people around him after giving her a quick look and a hug. "We'll try to increase the budget for the wounded vets. It's been on my mind lately. I've heard from your daughter all about the lack of funds for the psychological care they're getting."
None of the people Naruto was talking to seemed to find it strange that she would suddenly come into the conversation.
Inoichi nodded at her as she joined them, but he was still addressing Naruto. "Thank you, Hokage. I just wanted to make sure I get my cause heard. I know you're busy, so I appreciate you taking the time to talk with us here at the gala."
Shikamaru didn't bat an eye when Hinata joined their group, but his glance at her was welcoming. He slid a quick glance at Naruto's possessive arm around her but continued speaking, too. "Yes, thanks for reminding me about the issue, Inoichi. I didn't mean to forget about it, but an emergency meeting with Iwa came up last week and it just got pushed to the back burner. We'll talk with the rest of our team and get it all settled."
With that, they all decided that there was still the gala to attend, which was meant to celebrate the peace that Konoha was enjoying at the moment. Everyone attempted to keep the chatter light-hearted and fun.
Hinata was finally able to join in the conversation as the people around them asked about her role as an ikebana instructor, her family, and the continued work that Hanabi was doing for the Daimyo.
Eventually, the others drifted away, leaving the Hokage alone with his date.
They stood apart from the crowd and the attendees at the gala were happy enough to give them some privacy. After all, they were content to just watch.
It was all very romantic, everyone thought.
There he was, the Hokage standing so close and so protectively over this mysterious woman who he'd claimed so publicly on television.
The intimate way he held her made a lot of women at the gala swoon. Naruto's height gave him the advantage of looking down at her. He was smiling into her eyes, his lips whispering sweetly into Hinata's ears. It looked incredibly private and intimate, especially as Hinata lifted a dainty hand to her mouth and laughed quietly.
How sweet of the Hokage to be romancing a girl.
Though it looked incredibly syrupy and lovey-dovey, Naruto was raging quietly inside.
"So Toneri Ootsutsuki," he said in a low murmur.
She sighed and looked at him. "I tried to hide it, but I guess you saw, huh?"
"The phantom ex now has a name," he said with a smile, but it was tight because he still wanted to break the man's bones.
"Unfortunately," Hinata said contritely. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier, but I just naively thought we weren't going to come into contact with him at all."
Seeing the look on her face made him reach out and caress her cheek. "Don't apologize, Hinata. It's okay. You had the right to keep his name private if you didn't want to tell me."
She returned his gaze and laid a hand over the one he pressed against her cheek. "But you believe me when I say it's over with him, right? That I really am glad to be with you and only you."
He smiled at that. "I do, Hinata. I really do."
Her face lit with joy at his words and their hands dropped to the side to once more face the crowd, still waiting for the last few guests to appear so that they could finally move on to dinner.
But Naruto couldn't resist saying something he wanted to do.
To Hinata, he leaned into her ear and whispered, "What do you say to a little revenge, though? I mean, I've got all this influence. It would be a waste to not use it, especially on somebody like him. I'll have Toneri buried in the ocean—but not before I crush him to tiny little bits."
She laughed and shook her head. "No, Naruto."
His smile turned teasing, though. "Okay, but just let me indulge in my fantasy because I can envision the many ways I can hurt him."
"It's okay, Naruto. It doesn't matter."
"It matters to me. He's an asshole of the biggest magnitude. I'm itching to punch him, but I don't want to embarrass you."
"I appreciate the gesture," she said as she looked up into his eyes and patted his arm. "I really do, Naruto. You don't need to defend me from him."
Naruto kept the smile on his face, but it tightened and a fiery light blazed in his eyes. "Alright, but just let me continue fantasizing about sticking my kunai into his chest, Hinata. I won't act on it, but a man can dream."
She covered her mouth to smother her startled laughter.
He smiled down at her. "You know what? Maybe stabbing him is too quick. On second thought, I think I'd rather he suffered slowly. How about a slow burial then? In the earth? Maybe I can ask Gaara to do his Sabaku no Jutsu."
She fought another laugh. How surreal it was to be joking with the Hokage promising to do murder for her!
"Ah, Hinata, there's another way, too. I'm friends with Shino Aburame. He's a shinobi who uses insects and if I ask him nicely, I bet he can get his bugs to do some damage to Toneri. It's incredible if you think about it. Bugs, into pores, entering the human body spreading poison."
He was still murmuring so tenderly in her ear. It was too much, so she burst out with another nervous chuckle and pressed her hand more firmly over her mouth.
"Oooh, I just thought of one more way I could slowly kill him," he crooned again, his breath still brushing over her temple. "There's also—"
She was still giggling. "No, stop, Naruto! I don't want to think about Toneri anymore."
"You're right Hinata," he said as he reached for her hand and brought it up to his lips for a kiss.
She continued smiling at him.
He tucked her arm into his and he turned around, his attention back to the crowd at the gala, where everyone studiously avoided eye contact with the two of them because they didn't want to be caught staring at the couple.
The stray guests finally arrived and Naruto and Hinata were finally able to head towards their table to have dinner.
They walked through the hall, where most of the guests were now seated at their respective tables and waiting for dinner to start.
Naruto's eyes suddenly locked onto another pair of blue eyes in the crowd. He pierced Toneri with a look of loathing. Naruto didn't bother hiding his killing intent. He knew it probably carried over to where the man sat and he was satisfied to see that Toneri was the first one to break eye contact.
Hinata was scanning the crowd and smiling at the people who smiled back at her. Her eyes still on the other guests, she whispered as an aside to him, "Did I tell you that you look very handsome in your tux?"
He laughed and accepted her compliment. "No, you didn't, but thank you."
"Well, I just wanted to make that clear."
He glanced down at her one more time but didn't say anything. Instead, he turned his gaze back to Toneri, who was watching them. Naruto sent him another killing glance, again making the other man turn his attention back to his food.
Hinata noticed where he was staring and her hand tightened on his arm, but she gave a little shake of herself and smiled again.
And an idea began forming in Naruto's head.
"You know, Hinata, that is a very nice dress you have on…"
She flushed and smiled at him, unable to look away from his eyes.
She knew she shouldn't enjoy it so much, but his hand came up to caress her arm, and a wicked smile worked its way on his lips.
"How about you show me what's underneath that very pretty dress you're wearing?"
She let out a gasp. His words were unmistakable.
And Hinata felt herself melting, wanting so much to indulge in what he was suggesting, but they were at this gala, she could feel curious eyes on them. There were still a couple of hours before they could go home…
His hand drifted to her waist and he brought his lips closer to her temple. His voice was low, husky, clear in its intent.
"What do you say, Hinata? Let's get away from here and go do something more fun than socializing with other people."
She stiffened in surprise, understanding what he was saying. "Wait. Naruto, really? Now?! Right at this moment?!"
"Yes," he murmured, almost kissing her, and Hinata flushed because she could still feel everyone staring at them again being so obviously intimate out in public.
She had to be the voice of reason, so she smiled as calmly as she could even though her heart was beating so loudly. "But I don't want to waste this very pretty dress and your very nice tux. We went through all this effort to get dolled up, so why don't we stay, enjoy this dinner?"
But his eyes were on her mouth, and Hinata found herself unconsciously nibbling at her lower lip even as she continued to appeal to his sense of reason. "Besides, Naruto, if we disappear so suddenly people will know you're gone."
"Don't forget I have shadow clones, Hinata," he whispered again, still staring intently at her lips. "They can cover for us."
"Oh, Naruto," she could only say—torn and fumbling for an appropriate answer for him.
But he must have sensed her resistance melting because he added, "Hinata, let's give Toneri something to think about."
They were at a formal occasion, surrounded by hundreds of people. She was dressed in a beautiful ball gown, attending an event that was public, held in front of the whole village. This was probably the first and last time she was ever going to be attending one of these functions.
All she wanted to say was yes, but she held herself back and looked momentarily into his eyes. He didn't break her gaze, only held it and smiled crookedly back at her, but his heated message was clear.
He wanted to make love to her at this very moment.
It didn't make sense.
And yet somehow it did.
This was how their relationship had started, when, in a moment of weakness, she'd said yes to him that night when she'd pretended to be a geisha, had responded to the need in him when he'd asked to walk her home.
But he pressed a tender kiss against her temple, and she felt his mouth move against her skin when he softly asked, "Hinata?"
A plea.
Because here was a man asking her to join him for an intimate moment together, just the two of them.
And he'd somehow known that she was still feeling a little bit of regret—not for her relationship with Toneri—but for herself, for being unable to stand up for herself when he'd made her feel like a frigid ice queen.
Naruto was giving her the chance to prove to Toneri that she was not the boring woman he thought she was.
And with that, the last of Hinata's resistance crumbled away as she felt his hands running up her arms. She gave a subtle nod and felt his fingers tighten momentarily against her skin.
"Where?" she finally whispered.
His smile almost blinded her but she watched his lips form the words to, "Let's go find somewhere more private."
Somewhere more private ended up being the utility closet, which had Hinata giggling with incredulity when they were inside the tiny, spotless, and incredibly organized room.
And she was still marveling at their success in slipping away from everyone.
Arranging a clandestine meeting had taken a little bit of maneuvering. They'd gotten to their table and sat down for a few minutes before she'd faked a distressed sigh and mumbled something to the others about a tear on her dress that could only be repaired at the ladies' room.
He'd met her ten minutes later, him providing an excuse that everyone must have believed.
He was grinning when he pulled her into the tiny closet. "Don't worry, my shadow clones are at the table now, eating dinner, pretending to be you and me. Nobody seemed to notice."
Then weaving his fingers into seals, Naruto muffled the room with a jutsu.
"There. Now we can be as loud as we want."
She watched him perform the jutsu while her heart drummed violently in her chest. From the beginning, something about him threw her off, made her act in ways she never could have imagined. Their first night, when she'd given in to the urge to engage in what she had thought was going to be one-time casual sex, then him staking his claim on her on national TV and her agreeing to it.
And now this. Sex out in public…
Well, maybe not so public since they were hidden in this utility closet.
He strode towards her, his eyes still brightly blue even in the dark. Then she was facing the wall because he'd slowly turned her around to skim his warm palms along her back, over her bare skin revealed by her dress. Then they traveled upward to the tiny hook at the top.
Instead of unhooking it, though, he slowly brought his hands to the front of her dress, cupped her breasts through the fabric, and kneaded gently. One hand continued to caress her breast while the other slowly made its way down to her waist, and then finally between her thighs.
She feared he would discover the secret she'd been hiding ever since he'd suggested this little tryst.
"Should we take our time?"
"No! I want to do this fast!"
"I just want to kiss you leisurely, kiss every part of you, until you have nothing on." He punctuated each phrase with a kiss on her shoulders.
"No, Naruto." She tried to protest, but she was feeling drugged already, and she knew it was too late to do anything to stop. "I don't want to get caught..."
"They're all at the party and the cleaning staff's not working today. Nobody will be coming to interrupt us here."
"Naruto, please don't linger..."
But he ignored her and ran his palm slowly over her breasts, the nipples hardening with his touch just as she felt him press an open-mouthed kiss at her nape, felt his teeth scrape gently against her skin.
"You're so hot here, Hinata," he then sighed against her ear. His hand rubbed her gently between her legs. "God, I bet you're already so wet. Hmm? Were you thinking naughty thoughts while you were in this very pretty dress, Hinata?"
Oh, he was determined to tease!
Well, two can play that game.
She reached behind her and touched him, stroked the hardness of him through his tux, which had him gasping, his breath hot against her neck, his hand tightened on her breast just as he crowded closer into her, his lower hand pressing her more firmly against his body.
"Yes," she admitted with a sigh when she felt him at her back. "Because you look so handsome in your tuxedo and I was imagining you without it while you were talking with your advisors." She gasped when he bent his knees to nestle his erection into the cleft of her butt and lifted her up onto her toes. She was forced to lean against the wall, her forehead against the cool surface. "I could picture doing this exact thing with you. You deep inside me."
He gasped with laughter, his voice low and velvety against her ear. "You're such a bad influence on me, you wicked woman."
Hinata's answering laughter filled the room, and she kept her forehead on the wall, flattened her palms and forearms there, too, to try to cool herself down because she was suddenly aflame. He was now kissing the back of her neck while his hand had finally slipped off the small hook that held her dress together. It slithered down her arms and down her body, leaving her in her lacy black panties. She stepped out of it and faced him, proceeded to slide the jacket off his body.
"I enjoy you in this tux," she said as she looked into his eyes. "It makes you look so dignified and proper, but we both know that's a lie because, at your core, you're just as wanton as me."
"Which makes us perfect for each other, then."
She felt again the flutter of sweetness in her heart whenever he said things like that, but she didn't say anything because she was concentrating on the task of trying to undress him so they could proceed further.
And because he thought she was moving too slow, he helped her quickly shed the rest of his clothes until he was naked and kneeling on the floor, lifting her foot up to get rid of the last lacy barrier that led to heaven.
"Hinata, you have been thinking dirty thoughts," he hummed with delight as his hand traveled up slowly over her leg, and then he touched her, one finger dipping inside her that made her squirm uncomfortably and press back against the wall, the coolness of it in stark contrast to the warmth between them, the heat off his body.
She shivered, her senses starting to become overwhelmed by everything that was happening in this tiny, suddenly erotic, darkened space.
Naruto was kneeling before her, slow hands gently kneading the sensitive skin of her inner thighs as he looked up at her with his knowing, wicked smile. His scent wafted up to her, that fresh, soapy smell that never failed to make her gut clench. His scent was now amplified because he was naked and it was heady, an added aphrodisiac to this illicit situation.
And then she tested the soundproofing of the room, groaning loud and long when she felt his fingers glide between her thighs and his thumb press more firmly inside her, rubbing the most sensitive part of her that was slick and wet. She felt his lips brush against the inside of her thigh as he leaned in closer to her, felt his mouth slowly and unerringly make its way to where his finger was flexing once more within her.
Her body arched, and Hinata bit her lower lip, struggled to control the sounds she was making deep in her throat, the urge to scream because he said she could without anyone hearing. But she was still fighting to hold on to her dignity and not lose herself.
He must have felt it because he nipped at her skin one last time and then he was suddenly suckling hard just as a finger slid into her, teasingly slow, in and out of her once more.
Her breathing came out hard and fast, her hands trying to find a grip on the wall, but she felt the tension intensifying within her.
"Oh, Hinata, you can scream," he suddenly murmured, which made her suddenly open her eyes, not realizing she'd unconsciously closed them. She couldn't look away from his eyes. "Nobody can hear us. You're only making me more determined to please you if you continue to fight it."
He was looking up at her, her leg slung over his shoulder. His mouth had left her, but he was still stroking, his thumb circling delicately, rubbing against the part of her that throbbed and needed completion.
He looked calm and teasing, but she knew he was just as discomposed as she was when she saw the barely-held control on his face, the coiled tautness of his body, saw his hardened erection straining, heard his harsh breathing. Naruto was just as impatient to be inside her, but he wanted to make this good for her first.
And then the world turned dark again when her lids closed and the back of her head curled against the wall, her hands gripped his scalp, because his mouth had now replaced that finger, and now his tongue was licking insistently against her, suckling deep and hard. Still, he held her leg anchored over his shoulder, keeping her wide open and spread even when she strained and unconsciously tried to close the space between her legs, trying to hide her reaction to him seeing her so exposed and so vulnerable. But his hand kept her legs splayed, forced her to feel all her inhibitions rupturing because he was rubbing right at the top, his tongue nudged inside, lips suckling, tasting, eating. It was an endless torment, until finally, he pushed deep with his finger, making Hinata breathe out and gasp, unable to control the tremors of her body as she crested.
"Naruto!" She heard her own scream echo in that small space, but she still couldn't stop herself as another wave hit her, making her shudder. She couldn't stop shaking, she was drowning in pleasure. "God, Naruto! Ahh!"
She would have slumped to the floor in a disgraceful heap, but he held her steady, his hands clamped around her, held her, and finally brought her leg down off his shoulder. He stood up and she felt him gather her close and then kiss her atop her head.
She sighed into his chest, feeling limp and sated, and finally opened her eyes. He was grinning at her. "That's exactly what I wanted to hear."
Hinata chuckled tiredly.
Belatedly, she realized that she wanted to do the same for him, and reached for him, curled her fingers around the shape of him and started slowly stroking up and down. She heard his gasp and was about to drop down to her knees, but he stopped her when his hands suddenly gripped hers and he raised them to pin them, one on each side, against her head.
Hinata stared at him in surprise. "Naruto?"
"Thank you, but I won't be able to stand it," he said with a self-conscious chuckle. "I will just embarrass myself if you go down on me right now. I appreciate it, Hinata, but this is all for you—"
"No, Naruto." She shook her head. She wanted to hug him, but her hands were still pinned. She struggled a little bit to dislodge his body, but it made her only feel his heat against her, though, the heavy weight of him pressing against her tummy, and she ached, throbbed to feel him inside her. But she wanted to share what she'd just experienced with him, to make him burst with pleasure. "Let me use my mouth to make you come, too. I wa—"
But he shook his head firmly. "No. For you, Hinata." And his lips claimed hers, stopped her from speaking, moved insistently until she felt again the heat rising up in her.
She tore her mouth away, wanting to argue with him because she didn't want to be selfish. Contrary to what he thought, she wanted this to be for the both of them. She turned her head to the side to avoid his seeking mouth, which was now pressing kisses against her jaw. But Hinata was suddenly caught by the sight of her hand gripped in his against the wall, his longer fingers entwined through hers. It should have been painful, but what she felt was his strength, his reassurance, anchoring her in his hands while his body thrummed steadily against hers.
Silence.
Heartbeats, their chests pressed against each other.
She kept staring at her hand cradled in his until he lifted his head and looked at her. She felt his steady regard on her, his blue eyes observing her. "Hinata?"
And Hinata's heart constricted, suddenly finding herself with tears in her eyes, as she watched the tell-tale flex of his fingers against hers.
How beautiful their hands looked, clasped in each other's.
How beautiful she felt, and how right everything felt when they were together like this.
The sudden tears in her eyes when she finally turned to meet his gaze made Naruto gasp in sudden panic.
"Shit! Hinata, I'm so sorry! Am I hurting you?"
He must be holding her too tightly so he tried to pull away, to ease his body off hers, to disentangle their fingers, but she only tightened her grip on him and wouldn't let him let go.
He brought his gaze once more to her face and saw with relief that she was smiling at him.
"I'm sorry, Naruto, it's not you. I'm just being an emotional mess. You're not hurting me at all."
Emotional?
His mind was struggling to make him understand why, why she would get emotional, the significance of her feeling this way about him.
But she pushed at his hands, distracting him. Naruto released his hold of her against the wall and tried again to release her fingers. She only tightened her grip on his and brought both his hands to her lips, kissing his fingers in turn. "Naruto, you are possibly the most wonderful man in this entire world."
His stomach dropped. Hinata was looking up at him, lavender eyes clear despite her recent tears. And she was smiling but still kissing his fingers.
"Hinata!" Her name was a rough whisper against her ear.
And of course, she must have known that those words would spur him to act, right? That he would lift her up off her feet, making her squeak in surprise.
Because there was no way he would be able to resist her when she said sweet things like that. She must have known that he would be desperately and bluntly trying to push into her so that he would be buried inside her, sheathed within her warmth, so snug and tight. That he would be groaning with satisfaction, that she would be gasping in surprise and then gripping his shoulders tightly as he adjusted her against his body. As soon as he slipped inside her, he felt the squeeze of her inner muscles, making him curse at how good she finally felt impaled on him.
He tried to be gentle, and she didn't protest when he grabbed her butt tightly and rocked her against him. Hearing her kittenish whimper only enflamed him, caused him to push her body more determinedly into his, manipulating her to the correct angle so that he was moving her up and down in heavy, sensuous strokes. "Wrap your legs around me, Hinata."
She did, and her arms were strong around his body, her thighs strained at his hips, her ankles crossed behind him, right at his butt as he nudged and pressed her against the wall. He could only grip her butt and grind against her, his movements restricted by this position. But gravity was helping him. She would slip down over him just as he pushed up against her, his hips lurching in short, quick bursts.
But still, it felt like heaven.
"Hinata, you feel so good, so hot," he murmured against her temple and was rewarded by that the tiny lick of her tongue against his skin, the delicious sting of her teeth sinking gently into his shoulder.
He could feel her clamping and tightening around him as he kept up his upward thrusting, rocked his pelvis against her. Hinata was breathing heavily against his neck, her little cries and gasps were pitched high, impelled him to drive into her, keep up his stroking, so that her hands were either pounding at him or clutching at his shoulders, mindless in her pleasure, and urging him on.
"It's too much! Naruto, I can't!" she sobbed, her voice drowsy, voluptuous.
"You can, Hinata."
Because he couldn't, wouldn't be able to stop. He pressed his lips against her hair, hiding his own moans of pleasure against her skin.
She was hot and tight, and she throbbed all around him as her inner muscles caressed him, sucking him into her snug, wet, heat. Her breasts bounced against him, her lush nipples scraping erotically against his chest. She smelled good, her scent surrounded him, with their bodies pressed so tightly at each other in that room. Every time he moved, her scent filled his nose, her heady perfume only added to the sensuality of being locked in her embrace.
He could feel himself ready to burst, but he willed himself to slow down, to make this last longer for her, but he couldn't stop his body from moving, from penetrating deeper inside her, still insistently pumping against her and still lost within her depths.
He heard her gasp his name once more then a low, prolonged moan escaped her as she stiffened in his arms and buried her face into his neck.
He could also feel the explosion building inside him, her whole body still cushioned him inside and outside, and then he suddenly stopped thrusting when he tensed, his lips against her temple to muffle a guttural cry as his whole body braced against hers.
Naruto tried. He really tried. He tried to go slowly, to take her to the heights in a slow sensual trip up the peak, but there was something about this woman that reduced him to a bumbling, lovesick teenager who couldn't properly pleasure a woman because damn it, after just inhaling her scent, he was so ready to come.
"God, Hinata!"
After, he thought, his hips hard and unyielding between her legs. He'll make it up to her after, on their second, third round, back at his apartment. He would do her right then and he'd take her up on her offer, to feel her lips sliding all over him. But now, he had no choice because he was already spilling himself inside her.
Ah, crap.
And he was lost, shuddering, trembling from the force of his own orgasm. Soon he was breathing heavily against her, his body slumped over hers and crowding her into the wall.
He felt lethargic and energized at once, but all he really wanted to do was continue to hold her, his palms caressing her back, her butt. Her skin was the smoothest and silkiest thing he'd ever touched.
But something else intruded in his consciousness and filled him with sudden dread.
Heavy footsteps. Outside in the hall….that were getting closer to where they were.
They both froze.
"You soundproofed the room, but did you lock it?!" Hinata hissed in panic.
"Shit!" Naruto almost dropped her when he realized he hadn't. There hadn't been anything to lock.
Still with Hinata in his arms, he quickly whirled around and slammed his back against the door just as the handle jiggled and the door tried to inch forward into the room.
Naruto prevented it from opening by sliding his hand against the handle to jam it, to lock it in place, and forestalled it from turning further, but the amount of chakra-infused force he used broke it off the door. The busted doorknob clattered loudly to the floor.
"The hell?!" came a startled voice from outside.
In his mind, Naruto called to his clones. "I need your help! Get rid of this guy!"
In the utility closet, they waited in tense silence as the person pounded and then tried to push the door open again but gave up when he found it completely stuck. They held their breaths and were deathly still—until they heard muted voices outside. She was still pressed to him, his arms tight around her. She could feel his breath on her skin, his pounding heart pressed to her own.
"Everything okay?" somebody asked.
"I'm not sure," a voice answered, the tone filled with puzzlement. "I tried to open the door but it got stuck? I think there's somebo—"
But the person never got to finish his sentence.
They heard a suspicious thud, like a body hitting the wall. There was a soft rap on the door, then Hinata and Naruto heard the clone sigh in annoyance and then say, "Boss, this guy's fine. I put him under a genjutsu but it won't last forever so you guys need to finish quickly in there!"
Hinata looked at Naruto and pressed her lips together, but she gave up when his shoulders started shaking with laughter as her amused eyes met his.
"I'm so sorry!" he gasped helplessly in between laughs. "That was so close!"
"Oh, god!" she said, laughing. "Naruto! This is exactly why I never do anything like this!"
While Hinata and Naruto had been secluded in the utility closet, Naruto's two clones were locked in a mental battle even though they were surrounded by prestigious guests at the dinner table. Outwardly, they presented to the world a refined Hokage with his beautiful date. Inwardly, though, it was a mess.
The clone that looked like Naruto was fuming. "You're supposed to be a woman, and women sit more carefully when they're wearing an elegant dress at a public event, so close your legs and sit like Hinata!"
The Naruto-clone masquerading as Hinata did as she was told while she slid her plate closer to herself. A brief flare of annoyance passed over her face, but she crossed her legs demurely at the ankles.
Still, the first clone was unhappy. "No, you're still doing it wrong! She's more elegant than that. Hinata doesn't slouch. Sit up straight."
The Hinata clone straightened up in her seat just as she reached for the steak knife and fork to cut into her meal.
"Tch! Don't cut the meat like that! You're hacking into the steak like a guy! Be careful and do it slower. Can't you do it more gracefully?"
The hands gentled their movements.
"And one more thing—"
"Will you shut the fuck up?! Let me eat in peace! What are you, the Hinata police?!"
"Somebody has to! You're supposed to be Hinata, but you're not being refined and delicate."
"Oh, yeah? You think you can do better?"
"Hell, yeah! I know exactly how she moves, talks, walks. I've been paying attention."
"Hah! Too bad!" said the clone as she violently hacked into the steak and brought it to his/Hinata's mouth. The Hinata clone chewed with gusto and smiled tauntingly at the Naruto clone. "I'm the one the boss picked to impersonate her."
The Naruto clone fumed in silence and bit into his own meal.
Then they suddenly heard Naruto's panicked call for help.
"You go," the Hinata clone told the Naruto clone. "I'm still eating. I'm not moving from here. Besides, it would look weird if Hinata got up from the table."
The Naruto clone wavered. "I don't want to go. You know it's never good when he's like this. It will be embarrassing for everyone."
Hinata-clone said nothing in response, only chewed her steak and pointedly took a dainty sip of her red wine. She picked up her napkin and made a show of elegantly wiping her lips.
When the Naruto clone still didn't get up, the Hinata clone said, "You better go, he's going to get mad if we don't help him."
The Naruto clone sighed and stood up abruptly. He turned to the other guests at the table and said, "Uh, something came up. I'll be right back."
Shikamaru frowned. "Do you need my help?"
"No! It's nothing. I'll be back soon." He left the table quickly.
Something flickered in Shikamaru's eyes as he watched the Naruto clone walking away.
"You are so lucky I know how to tie a bowtie," she murmured as she put the finishing touches on his tux.
He moved his head back when she placed a gentle palm under his jaw and tilted his face up. Naruto was grinning, a satisfied expression on his face while she continued to work on his tie.
Secretly, he thought that what she was doing was pointless. No matter how much she tried to fix the damage of them hastily taking each other's clothes off, there was no way to hide what they'd just done.
He knew his tux was rumpled, the shirt and jacket no longer as pristine as it was a few minutes before.
She, meanwhile, was flushed, her skin still warm and rosy from their bout of lovemaking. Her hair was a flamboyant, heavenly mess around her face. Her dress was hopelessly wrinkled, a sad reminder of what it was before they'd stepped into this utility closet.
But he was happy, and nothing would ever dim that.
After she'd patted the wrinkles off his jacket, he turned her around so that he could do the same to her dress and put the pins back in her hair, trying to style her hair back the way he remembered.
"And Hinata, you're lucky I know how to use a hairpin."
He was proven wrong, however, when the one he was holding pinged out of his fingers from his clumsiness.
She chuckled softly. "Somehow, I doubt you do."
But he obligingly helped her find the pins and held them as he watched her efficiently style her hair back to what it had been.
They left the utility room hand in hand, and Hinata couldn't resist a look back, a laugh escaping her as she shook her head.
"I still can't believe we did it in there." Her voice was filled with wonder.
He laughed, too, and pressed a kiss on top of her head.
"Believe it."
Shikamaru's eyes narrowed slightly when the real Hinata and Naruto finally made their way back to the table.
He chewed his food thoughtfully. Naruto and Hinata's back and forth from the dinner table just seemed so… And even though he was a man, he knew that Hinata's dress was looking a little more lopsided than usual, as if it had been hurriedly put on.
When Hinata was talking to the person next to her and wouldn't be able to hear them, Shikamaru leaned over and said, "I know what you did, Naruto."
"And?" Naruto responded just as quietly.
"Don't do it again."
Naruto snorted. "Or what? What are you going to do? Kick me out of office?"
Shikamaru sighed. "No, dumbass. Don't go around doing stupid things that will get her in trouble. Just think of how it's going to affect her."
"Shikamaru, I did it for her."
His advisor drew back in surprise, stared at the expression on Naruto's face, and his glare eased. He smiled slowly. "So that's how it is?"
Naruto responded with his own smile. "Yes."
Shikamaru let out a laugh, drawing everyone's attention towards them. He shook his head and waved everyone's attention away.
But he grinned at Naruto. "Well, if that's how it is, then good for you, my friend."
Naruto sighed, reached for Hinata's hand, and placed their twined fingers on his thigh. She broke off her conversation with the person sitting next to her, looked up at him, and smiled.
The shared memory of their secret tryst flickered in their eyes.
His heart danced.
Yes, good for him, indeed.
